What Is Wiz Khalifa Kush?

Wiz Khalifa Kush — commercially branded as Khalifa Kush (KK) — is an indica-dominant hybrid developed directly for rapper Wiz Khalifa from OG Kush genetics. It's not a marketing gimmick strain. The genetics were reportedly selected over multiple rounds by Wiz's own team, and the commercial product currently tests at around 22.91% THC with a terpene profile dominated by beta-caryophyllene (4.19 mg/g), limonene (2.38 mg/g), and linalool (2.36 mg/g). Wiz Khalifa Kush Plant Structure and Training

KK grows to a medium height indoors — typically 3 to 4.5 feet — with a classic OG Kush structure: a strong central cola flanked by short, dense lateral branches. Left untrained, it'll stack most of its biomass at the top. That's a problem for canopy uniformity and for the bud rot risk that comes with large, tight colas.

Topping and LST for Wiz Khalifa Kush

Top at the 4th or 5th node, no later. KK doesn't recover as aggressively as some sativas or modern hybrids, so time your top early enough to allow a full week of recovery before you flip to 12/12. KK responds well to high light intensity. Target 800–1000 µmol/m²/s PPFD at the canopy during flowering. A 600W HPS in a 3×3 space or a quality LED delivering 35W+ per square foot will get you there. Don't run it light — this is a strain that converts photons into trichomes efficiently, and under-lighting produces airy, sparse buds that don't reflect the genetics.

Nutrients and Feeding Schedule

Environment: VPD, Temperature, and Humidity

KK's dense OG-style colas are its greatest asset and biggest liability. Botrytis (bud rot) is a real threat if relative humidity climbs above 50% during flower. Keep RH at 40–45% from week 3 of flower onwards. During the final two weeks, some growers push RH down to 35–40% to further reduce mold risk and encourage trichome production.

• Canopy temperature: 75–82°F (24–28°C) lights-on; drop 8–10°F lights-off to encourage anthocyanin expression if you're after colour.

• Airflow: Run an oscillating fan at canopy level throughout flower. KK needs constant gentle movement across the colas — not strong enough to cause windburn, but enough to keep the surface boundary layer dry.
• CO₂: If you're running a sealed environment with CO₂ enrichment (1200–1500 ppm), KK will use the extra headroom, particularly during peak flower when PPFD is at maximum.

• Mostly cloudy trichomes: Harvest here for a cleaner, more cerebral effect that still carries the classic OG fuel and citrus profile.
• 15–20% amber: Harvest here for a heavier, more sedating effect with deeper body sensation. Most KK consumers prefer this window.
• Beyond 20% amber: Potency degrades quickly. THCa has broken down significantly and the effect becomes couch-locked and flat rather than the focused, euphoric OG high KK is known for.

Drying and Curing Khalifa Kush

KK's dense buds hold moisture longer than many strains. Don't rush the dry. Hang whole branches (or use a rack for smaller yields) in a space at 60–70°F with RH at 45–55%. A typical dry takes 10–14 days at these conditions. If you push RH below 40% to speed things up, terpenes volatilize prematurely and you lose the distinctive lemon-fuel-spice profile.

Once buds snap-click off the stem cleanly, move to airtight glass jars for cure:
