This policy explains what the GrowGuide mobile application ("App") and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Information You Give Us

  • Account details — email address and any profile information you choose to add, when you create an account.
  • Your content — grow logs, photos, notes, and anything you post in community features.
  • Messages to us — feedback, bug reports, and support requests, including any screenshot you attach.
  • AI feature input — the questions you type and photos you submit, only when you use an AI feature and consent to it.

2. Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage and device data — which screens you open, which features you use, app version, device model and operating system version.
  • Diagnostics — crash reports and error traces, so we can fix what broke.
  • Advertising identifiers — only if you allow tracking when the App asks. If you decline, ads still appear but are less relevant, and we do not link them to you across other apps and sites.

3. How We Use It

  • To provide the App's features and keep your data in sync across your devices
  • To fix crashes and improve what people actually use
  • To process subscriptions and restore purchases
  • To show ads, and to understand which ads brought people to the App
  • To answer you when you contact us, and to tell you when something you asked for ships

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Service Providers

We use third parties to run parts of the Service. Each receives only what it needs:

  • Supabase — account, content and database hosting
  • PostHog — product analytics and error reporting
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash diagnostics
  • Google AdMob — advertising
  • Meta — advertising measurement, so we can tell which campaigns work
  • RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play — subscriptions and purchases
  • OpenAI — optional AI features, as described in our Terms
  • Google Analytics — website traffic measurement
  • Cloudflare and Amazon SES — website delivery and email

These providers process data under their own privacy terms and, where applicable, act as our processors.

5. Advertising and Tracking Choices

On iOS, the App asks permission before using your advertising identifier for tracking. You can change that answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Declining does not remove ads; it limits how personalised they are.

6. Data Retention

We keep account data and your content while your account is active. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. Delete your account and we remove your content and personal data, except anything we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Deleting Your Account

You can request deletion from inside the App, or by emailing help@growguide.app from the address on the account. We action deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Email help@growguide.app and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows. You will not receive worse service for exercising these rights.

9. Children

The Service is intended for adults aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or from the Service.

11. International Transfers

We operate from the United States and our providers may process data there and elsewhere. Using the Service means your information may be transferred to countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance.
