Moved to the greenhouse

Finally have decent temperature at night in the outside greenhouse. A couple weeks in there to harden them off, then out into the yard

I want a real outdoor greenhouse like this so bad! I had to pause outdoor growing because of the bugs and bud rot every year. Looking forward to following along.

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

I got mine at Harbor Freight, 6'x8' for $350 a couple years ago. Looks like they might be even cheaper now like their website for me says $250 now

good looking out!

One month update!!

The last 2 nights got into freezing temps outside and the greenhouse isnt sealed well, so I got worried my little space heater wouldn't keep up, but it held the temps between 50-60° both nights and my babies are still happy and growing steady!!

Progress update and nutes

One plant is a bit smaller than the other two, but all are still growing strong!! Had a very tiny bit of discoloration on that smaller one that looked like it maybe could just be a nutrient deficiency so we'll see

They look happy!!

1GreenThuMB

It could be a genetic thing if they're all the same type that one could be a little off it won't hurt anything

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

That was my thoughts since they all came in the same pack from a couple years ago. I did rotate them in the greenhouse for the lighting since I do have trees partially shading my garden areas

I'm so happy with their progress in just a month!!!

Week 6 update

I've been moving them outside in the day for the last week, but had to bring them back into the greenhouse with the colder nights. Tonight's low temps are finally into the 50s, so they are finally transitioning to be outdoors full time. I will be keeping them in 3 gallon fabric pots through the whole grow for this run.

Nutes

Week 2 of flowering! We've had a lot of rain lately, but thankfully everything dried up for long enough to give these girls some nutes.
I have one small issue on a lower branch that is a little concerning, maybe spider mites? I sprayed some Captain Jack's super soap to be safe for now and will be keeping an eye on it

Sir what do you use to keep the bugs away?

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Captain Jack's insecticidal super soap sprayed only when the bugs are hurting the plant. I mostly let nature take its course and let the bugs roam

Looking good, those colas are fire so far

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Thanks, I'm really happy so far with my first real grow and for all the support and knowledge I can find on here!

zerolifeskills

What? 1st grow? Man well you knocked it out of park. But it goes to show passion, research, and a little support here and there and you can produce top shelf bud. I don’t know if your planing on curing or not but if your not sure i highly recommend it and looking into it. It’s easy and makes you bud go from ok to wow, wtf. lol

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

I helped a buddy with a grow once like 15 years ago, but that was mostly just trimming and hanging lol. I do plan to cure it after drying, but still trying to figure out where to set up to dry. I have a 4x4 tent I could use in my shed but it's missing most of the poles so I'd have to rig it up. Nowhere to dry inside due to the smell and small space in my house.

zerolifeskills

Dude that’s awesome this is your solo grow. If you got some cash go get ya some pvc pipe to rig or you even use a 1x1 rough or 2x2 sticks but if your budget like I am use sticks but depending on your weather you want that control. I use a shed on my property and hang some plastic about a 5x4 spot and dry in there I usually don’t have a humidity prob but the temp can get cold some years I have used heaters in the past but I try not to if I can

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

I'm in zone 4b up in northern michigan, so it can get pretty cold once fall hits. I do have some 2x2 sticks to rig up the tent, plus i can always just nail the thing up to the back of the shed lol. My big thing will definitely be temp and humidity control, but I can run an old window unit outside the tent near the inlet to cool things off and I do have a mini dehumidifier that should help regulate everything. I just have to make some room so I can get it all set up. we're in a big heat wave with like 85% humidity right now, but that should calm down by the time I harvest.

zerolifeskills

lol now your doing things on my level “ just nail it up” lol I like that. I live in Appalachian mountains coal country we thrive at doing a lot with very little lol And that sounds like a good plan and underestimate the power of air flow sometime a good fan pushing air can cool and dehumidify quicker but yeah have the other stuff incase you need it

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

I'm definitely doing things as cheap but effective as possible, so yeah same here work with what I got. No point in putting a bunch of money into a fancy drying system with automatic whatever when I can just check on it myself and adjust to my liking

zerolifeskills

Bub I feel ya on that I think about all the money some ppl put into some of this stuff and I think I could that with some plastic pvc and zip ties lol

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Exactly! If it ain't broke don't fix it. But in a lot of people's minds they think if it ain't broke then there's not enough modifications haha

zerolifeskills

Right lol they are solutions in search of a problem lol

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Like i don't necessarily go by any specific instructions on my fertilizers because every plant is different and they'll tell you what they need. I've been a veggie gardener since I was 5 and I've always been a firm believer in the KISS method, Keep It Simple Stupid

Now this is how I want my yields!! Nice grow brother 💪🏽😎

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Thanks man, this first round has been a great learning experience so far

zerolifeskills

This is actually my 1st year using nutes on a reg basis and I’m mixed on it right now but I’m trying to learn to read the plant better and I’m think I’m getting better but still a lot to learn

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

I've only ever used liquid nutes on my tropical house plants, always used compost and dry fertilizers for veggies and fruits. It's definitely an adjustment, but pretty forgiving since you can just flush if you over do it

zerolifeskills

See that pretty much the way we use to do it when we was growing g in the woods it was a mix of dark black muddy riverbank mud and a manure compost. We only used nutes if something was wrong which was far and few between but starting back this year i chose to try nutes on a reg schedule

Man those bud pics look like centerfolds. I keep hearing the angel in a centerfold song playing in my head lol nice job bub

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Thanks man. I've been testing the camera out on my new phone trying out the different features. The close ups are at 50mp and the zoomed out are supposed to be at 200mp, but im still messing with the focus on it

zerolifeskills

I like messing with shutter speed too but don’t go to long if your holding it by hand. I do some YouTube videos from time to time so I bought a gimbal and I’ve been able to get some nice pics I think I’m going to do a couple of videos on this grow maybe one for the veg cycle and one for the bloom but we will see

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

I definitely need some kind of imbalance or tripod. It doesn't help that the wind helps blur things out trying to hold everything steady. This phone does have a super steady horizontal lock, but only in video mode

zerolifeskills

Yeah I had some trouble with some time lapse photos I was trying to take I think the wind was shaking the table and the longer tripod I have is a cheap one so it’s not super sturdy either

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Cellphone picture quality is insane compared to back in the day, hell even within the last 2 years the quality has jumped astronomically

zerolifeskills

Right? Lol used to I would just get a burry mess now I heard last year there was a movie filmed on a iPhone lol how far we come

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

Everything is so advanced now, but the problem with that is trying to keep up as we get older lol. I remember having to buy a special clip on magnifier lenses for one of my old phones just to get an okish macro Pic that still ended up grainy, now I can just hold my phone close and zoom if I want haha

zerolifeskills

Right my phone has the two cameras lens I guess for different magnifying lens or wide angle lens’s it does great for me but my daughters has 3 lens on the back and you can damn near see the color of the tricomes with it lol she was showing me a pic of the moon she took and you could see the craters plain as day in it. Now imagine when this newest generation gets our age what they will have. Well as long as the don’t go to far into AI. I think Tech should be a tool not a replacement lol the just laid off half of my wife’s jobs workers because of AI and they are hurting because it was ready yet

Mr_Yooper
Mr_Yooper

My phone has 4 cameras plus the front camera, but it's the new galaxy one that's trying to go full ai which im not a big fan of. I like a couple of the ai features but I don't need it to handle everything for me, im a big boy and can do it myself hahaha

zerolifeskills

That’s me I think AI as a tool is great AI that just takes over and does everything I’m not a fan of either I don’t know if that makes me a control freak or what ever but I just think they are going way to fast with this AI stuff. They are scammers using it to scam little old ladies around here and they can do a 1000 calls at a time like that

Huey Dewey and Louie are loving this little burst of summer heat we got this past week and are getting some great color!
Did another 3/4 strength feeding since I've been having to water basically everyday with these 90 degree temps since they're only in 3 gallon grow bags.

Huey, Dewey and Louie have been through the runner the last few days with all the smoke in the air from the Canadian wildfires up north. Thankfully we had a good spout of rain on friday to wash a lot of the ash off. Even with all that, they are doing wonderful and got a good 3/4 strength dose of nutes. Surprisingly, Louie started off as the smallest of the run and look at her now measuring in at just over 52 inches!!! I also did a little defoliating on most of the remaining fan leaves and my prunes started humming up, so its definitely safe to say things are getting sticky in the garden!!

Hell yeah, by the looks of things, huey (one with purple leaves) might be about ready for harvest in the next week. The other two are taking a bit longer with how more dense the main stocks are

If you don’t mind me being nosey how many grams you get off each of those plants usually?
