Grow Timeline (40 updates)
I've had these lights on level 4, i should have checked ppfd rather than guessing. I have bumped to level 8, ppfd reading now is 190 at top canopy. Hopefully that stops the stretch. I will need to bury these bitches when i transplant in 20 days.
Moved plants into my small veg tent while my 3x3 tent is finishing. Plants are under a vs-1000, at 14 inches @ 50% (250 pofd). Im unable to control environment in this tent, the humidityis a bit lower than i would like it. Temps 76-80 and rh is 48-52%. I need these girls to hang on until i harvest the lilac diesel rbx2 in my 3x3 tent in 2-3 weeks..
For as bad as these ladies stretched, they have recovered nicely, top internode spacing has tightenedup. I will tranplant into 1 gallon fabric pots in the next few days, im waiting on more roots to take hold.
I have 10 more days until harvest, then 10 day to hang in my 3x3, i needed to get these out of starter pots. I usually go stright into a 7 gallon, but im pressed for room in this tiny tent. Transplanted into gia green living soil.
They seem to have bounced back fairly quick. My humidity is way to low, i have no control over environment until i havest my bigger tent. Temps 72-78, rh 50-55. No major signs of stress or deficiencies at this point. Ppfd 250 (for recovery) i will bump up too 300 in the next few days
1.5ml sticky bandit with 1.5 liters of water. Plants are looking good, tight nodes. Will move into 3x3 and transplant into 7 gallon, top and start quadlining as soon has last harvest is done drying.
Mixed in 1 cup down to earth gypsum and 6 qaurts perlite to 64 liters of gia green living soil, with 2 gallons water to premoisten soil for transplant. Each plant was heavily powered with great white and moved into 7gallon fabric grow bag... Plants have had aggressive growth. I will wait a few days for the plants to settle in before topping and training
Plants rebounded from transplant have are aggressively growing. Tight nodes, they are exploding with growth. Solid gentics here, very uniformed, first time running beans from this breeder. I will quadline these plants in the next day or 2. Plants were watered with recharge. Increased ppfd. DLI 34.5
Ended up keeping 3 nodes on each plant rather than 2. This is my first time training like this. I curious to see what results are better. I usually pull 10-12 ounces from my setup with my traditional practices. A growmie of mine said i should be pushing out closer to 1 lb if i quadline
Ive been hard on these girls the last 10 days with topping and heavy training. Ive been keeping them a bit thirsty also, i went with a full gallon this watering. Both plants took full gallon with zero runoff. Hands off these for the next week to help them reset.
Hands off these ladies for the next 10-14 days. I have been performing lst almost daily, i have to give these plants a break before flip. I will top dress midweek to prep for stretch. Increased ppfd to 550
Awesome
Each plant got 1 gallon water plus 0.8ml sticky bandit.. broke 2 big main lead tops off during training on right plant. Both plants have had explosive growth in the last 2 weeks, they have exellent node growth and spacing. I will top dress next water session and flip in about 10 days
Each plant was topdressed with 1/2 cup 2-8-4, 1/4 cup 4-4-4, with 2 cups worm casting, 1tbsp gypsum, 1tbsp fish bone meal.
Defoliation to under canopy. Left plant seems alot more hungry, last weeks topdress should correct the lighter green canopy. Will keep close watch on her for sure.
Keep up the nice grow
Increased ppfd to 750.Canopy filling in even. The nutrients from the top dress 10+ days ago are becoming available to the plants, the left plants color has improved. These plants are on cruise control right now. Plants got 1 gallon water with recharge july 15th.
Each plant got 1 gallon water only. White pistal growth has started, plants stretch is slowing and flower production is starting. Plants seem very happy and there is zero sighns of deficiencies. I will top dress again in the next 5 days and defoliate
Cleanup up canopy a bit. Took out alot of interior canopy leaves. They are praying hard, and im seeing an almost pink showing on the leaf tips. These ladies are strawberry sugar by selfie seeds, but i dont think its gentics. Im raising rhe light to 18 inches above canopy. Leaves praying. That hard is a sign to me that they are getting way too much light.
Added 2 cups worm casting, 2tbs 2-8-4, 1 tbs4-4-4, 1tbs gypsum.
The tent was in the low 80's due to a shitton of rain and high humidity all weekend. I also forfot to raisecthe light, it was was to xlose to canopy. The combo of both shows in the purple on the leafs edge. All has since been corrected and these ladies look happy.
Omg .. all that rain. I know what you mean!! My dehumidifier has been pumping out 5 gallons a day and the RH is still about 55 %. I also lost the ac so not helping. Good looking plants man! They look a little younger than mid though. If I had to guess if say about 3 weeks. But I don't know the strains.
Yea we go smacked in the carolinas this weekend.. youre spot on!! Week 3 day4..the fertilzer should start to be availible to the plants in the next 7-10 days, so technically become available mid week 4.. these ladies are strawberry sugar, bred by selfie seeds, should be a 9 week flower. Sending cold vibes ❄️🧊🥶 your way bro, ac kicking out in the south in the dog days of summer is no fun!!!
I still have no idea if the purple edges are from genetics, or heat stress from last week when the tent was reaching lower 80's for 2 or 3 days. I have been running my evo4 on level 8. I raised it today to 18 inches, and bumbed it to level 9. I am trying to get better coverage. If the plants handle it well, I will bump it to level 10
Looks like heat stress what strain is it? I wouldn't go to crazy an herm her buddy id let her recover 🤘🤞
Strawberry sugar, by selfie seeds... its a white wedding cross...heat stress makes sense, ive had a few spikes of 82 in the tent.. Other than that it's been controlled.. i have been f****** with my light and trying to push it hard, i should probably dial back a bit.
Pots were light after 2 days. Plants are drinking ALOT more water. Plants have responded well to the bumb in light intensity. Evo 4 set to level 9 at 14 inches above tallest bud sight. Buds are starting to stack, and ive noticed heavy trichome production on sugar leafs this morning. Purple leaf edges are definitely from genetics, not light burn like I thought last week. Im seeing a big difference in phenome types here. Bud structure it's completely different between the two plants.
Big difference in bud structure between the two sisters. Looking like the right plant will be a heavy terp and resin producer.
Plants are uptaking water alot faster. They were drinking a gallon every 2-3 days. Pots were very light this morning after getting water on the 11th. i increased water volume to 1.5 gallons ( probably should have done this a lot sooner). Buds are really starting to stack now. Very sweet smelling tarps already, not even into week six. Overall, plants seem to be very happy with environment. Dropping humidity down to 50% this week
They took 1.5 gallons of water with little to no runoff. I added 0.8ml of sticky bandit per gallon. These girls will run 10 weeks of flower, this is the start of week 6 so i expect some series stacking in the next 2 weeks. The tent is starting to smell like a candy store. I know know why the breeder named this strain strawberry sugar.
Gave each plant 1.5 gallons of water the morning of the 15th and the pots were light again this morning. They are uptaking 2x the water that that were last week. Environment is locked in, and these girls are on cruise control.. i dropped ppfd, light went from level 9 down to 8.. i don't want to cook these trichomes
Thanks bro💪🤙.. i expect these girls to run another 3.5-4 weeks.. i have high expectations if I can keep everything locked in..
Damb well that 1 looks close to done lol cant wait to see how much bigger she gets the buds already swole i wouldnt think she had that much longer but i only run fast versions so im off like 2 weeks from normal
Im at week6 day3 flower.. breeder has these as a 10 week stain.. they may finish up closer to nine weeks, but the buds are still throwing out white pistols.. calix are swollen as hell. So I feel like theyre still stacking.. I'm super impressed with these genetics.. I'm on the fence if I should top dress them one more time.
Damb only 6 nice mine finish at 8 to 9 so yea at 6 shes still stacking gonna be nice outcome for sure
They are really beefing up. Super frosty and alot of resin production. I'm excited for this harvest
Have a question yours are looking Soo nice why are they still showing calmag😭. I'm wondering cause I'm fighting the same
There is no calmag deficiency in my plants. if we're referring to the purple in the fan leaves, that's genetic
Im running a live soil with top dressed ammendmants. I also use recharge, and sticky bandit supplements. I dont see a cal mag issue here. What i to read is early stage late flower fade, and purp expression due to genetics, and lower late flower temps( 72-74 during lights on).... i had a severe cow mag issue a few years back when i was funning fox farm nutrients, i just don't see it here, but I could be wrong. These plants are super hungry, they probably could have used another top dress. to be fair, they might be asking for more magnesium
It's that blackish of the leaves probably making the veins look brighter. Who cares as long as they aren't suffering thru the def I wouldn't worry they look really good
I am taking those pics also with the light on, and it kind of plays tricks with the color of the plant You know.. but you definitely might be onto something, bro I do think these plants may be hungry.
Thanks man, i very impressed with these gentics. I have 2 more strains from this breeder, im looking foward to running them next. The nose on these plant is amazing. Hands down, this will be the best medicine i have produced to date, as lond as they stay in thier lane till harvest!!💪🤙
That's how I feel. This is the first time I've ran what you'd consider "Craft" genetics. A cross of 2 elite strains that are way overpriced. I just had to see what the hype was about. I almost fell for buying a cut, but I thought I'd get to see if I could find one myself. I have to say these plants have impressed me every way possible. I'm sold. But they are too fucking expensive. They really are. They could charge less and still make a killing. That being said, I'm glad I got several more crosses by these guys. I will absolutely self cross a few of these if I don't keep the clones. I wish I had the space to keep a few mothers. but I do not.
I hear that man, it definitely comes down to genetics when growing. I have yet to start with clones, or keeping a mother plant, I just don't have the room. I wish I did. I would really like to start making my own crosses, i have a few growmies that run male plants and pollinate females to make their own in house cross. i'm sure there is a huge learning curve there, i would assume it takes a while to get the genetics stable
Practicing patience, im pushing the light hard, i think i may see early sighns of foxtailing. I may dropp ppfd if it continues. Try comb heads are starting to move away from clear to slightly milky. Well see if they run 10 weeks like breeder suggests
These are fucking nice! I don't so much mind a little foxtailing. It's common among some of the genetics Im running. It makes cool looking flowers when they dry, and it's more bud to smoke. True, some will because of stress. But it's never bothered me at all.
Thank you brotha, this has been an amazing run so far, i really proud of this one so far. The second i open this tent, the whole house stinks!!!! This is my 5th run, and i have never had any foxtailing so i may have been a bit premature thinking thats what i was seeing. I did dail back the light a bit a few days back, i had a gromie suggest i do so to preserve trichome heads from volatizing.. it makes sense in theory, and i'm always willing to learn and try new things, so we'll see. I am most definitely a quality over quantity type of grower. I feel like it's so worth it. To spend a little extra on high quality beans, for me the end result is unquestionable. I have found a breeder who is under the radar, not one of the big boys and his f****** genetics are insane, bro...
I actually just lowered my ppfd a touch as well. I think my girls will swell a bit more, but it's like you said. No reason In blasting the hell out them. It's less stressful. I basically dropped them all by about 150, 200ppfd. I'll see if they look.nwtet or worse in 2 days and I may go up 100, but before ther were as high as 1200 on a few tops. They seem to love it, it it's too late to keep that up.
As long as your 800+ in the last week or 2 your good to go. I cant push my light as much as i eould like without co2, although i would love to. Ive leatned that a steady controlled environment matters a whole lot more thing constantly tweaking s*** and trying to make it just right. I've had better success following this rule of thumb. When I first started growing, I would be changing my environment every week trying to keep up With a thousand different variables.. my good gromie told me, "keep it simple stupid".. bwhahahah
I've been doing this since the winter of 1998. Mostly clandestine grows in rented houses between myself and 4 other people. I didn't know shit when I started the career, but I can say without a doubt. Consistency wins the race. You may never have a perfect grow. But as long as you don't make the plants constantly play catch up, they will produce far better, and your life will be much easier.
The pots very very light this morning. Plants are still uptaking alot of water with no sighns of slowing down. Each plant got 1.5 gallons this morning with 8ml sticky bandit per gallon. Dropped the evo4 to light setting 7 from 8 to preserve tricomes. Head are all milky with little clear.. 10-14 days left to harvest roughly
I cannot believe the swell unless three days. These buds are rock hard dense, and to be fair i have never had a plant produce this amount of resin. Fingers literally stick together. I do believe dropping light intensity drop is beneficial. When I open the tent, the smell is not as loud as it has been, but if I put my nose to my fingers or nose to the bud, the terp expression is very intense. I now see why the breeder has named these strawberry sugar, it literally smells like a strawberry.
Candy. I'm amazed to see how these buds have matured in just a few days. If I were to guess, i see me harvesting these at the end of the first week of september
These ladies have matured way ahead of schedule. Breeder has them as can run up to 10 weeks. Mid to lower buds are 95%cloudy, 5%clear, top buds showing 5%amber. Theyre ready for chop, but i watered yesterday. As soon as the pots feel light i will put the axe to them. I wish I didn't water these plants. They would be hanging today.
I'm becoming impatient. Typical females always f****** late..
Thank you.... stable enviroment with solid gentics...for me, the most important step hasnt started.... 💪🪓💨
I always went with the 70/30 rule... my goal is to proseve terp quality, a grimie has to told me im harvesting a bit to late, i should pull out when trichomes are mostly cloudy..it has been such an amazing run, i'm hesitant to try something new on this garden..
Dude I just dropped the ball on the 1st pheno harvest. Should have taken that one a day ago, maybe 2. And I think I should have already taken the tallest colas in the tent. I harvest in 2 tiers. So I can give the lowers more time. And I missed that one by a couple days. Lol. Got hypnotized by the plants. And they decided it's time. Now tomorrow is the day for the tallest ones. or, midnight .. I'm used to waiting... It surprised me.
Ill tell the fella that work for me "i need a left handed cigarette" and they look at me like im crazy.. i just smile... thats what my pops used to call joints, and now me 😆💪
I dont trust the meters and dobt trust the specs of the lights either i go by get low wattage light like 60 i keep em close like 6 inches max maybe even 4 its the heat that makes em burn so close low wattage will make it better if u look at my new ones u will see
