humidity dome in place

It was overcast and cooler today, managed to keep aroun 68*. I misted the top of the soil which was nearly dry. I spritzed the inside of the dome (and added a couple of small holes to prevent mildew, etc)

I think shes about to break through!

Did not mist water. Did not remove dome. Did not turn on grow light.

When she breaks through the soil, I've been told to turn on the light and have it 6-8 inches from the plant. Keep the dome for now but begin to transition the seedling out of it. Keep soil DAMP, not wet. Use spray bottle over pouring at this stage.

We have liftoff!

I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to check Stella. She's a seedling now! A tiny yellow green sprout with her first real fan leaves already growing. We have liftoff, folks! Turned on grow light ~7" from the seedling/soil.

Now cotyledons are super green and the two first true leaves are just a little lighter.

The 1st 24h of Sunlight

Getting greener and greener!! Her first 24 hours has been pretty incredible. As soon as I saw thst she'd broken through the soil I turned the light on for 18h. I then had it off for a few hours, thrn turned it back on. I'm wanting to do a full 24h of light before switching for an 18/6 pattern. I tilted the dome slightly to vent for a while then replaced it back. Need to do that twice more over the next day or so to slowly acclimate her to the dryer climate that is my bedroom.

One of her roots was above the soil making her a bit wobbly. I sprinkled some soil overtop of it, spritzed the inside of the dome, and replaced it. We're in the middle of 24h of light.

Tedward

Shes spending a lot of her energy building a root system. Roots need darkness to grow. 6 hours of darkness is perfect until she takes off

A little waterlogged ...

Nothing new done. No water added: poked into soil and it is damp and cool instead of dry and warm. Plastic dome is propped up for ventilation. Will likely leave it off overnight to encourage more drying out.

Drowned?

I think she's still waterlogged. Here's hoping she can come back from this. Drying it out.
