Grow Timeline (44 updates)
I went to adjust my new training clips. When I put them on the first time they really stretched and bent the plants. I unintentionally super cropped every single one of my plants. These are supposed to be LST clips so buyers beware. I am personally very pleased with the results as this is a much safer way to supercrop plants and it eliminates stakes in the dirt and constricting wire ties. Watered with Recharge
Just showing off the recovery. I treated these plants pretty rough yesterday and they have bounced back really well. One plant is showing signs of N def. it’s the fastest growing and I broke the same branch on it twice in less than a week. the first break was healed within 5 days and it doesn’t even notice that I snapped it in half yesterday. I’m probably done with my training and will just top in the future.
5 males 4 females. 1 female was much smaller so I will plant her outside. 3 best females transplanted into 5 gallons containers with coco coir pre amended with gaia green all purpose.
Thanks! this is my first time. I feel like it’s the next step in the learning process. I’m 90% sure all the males are males and 100% sure these 3 females are females. I’ve only grown from feminized seeds or clones before but I really want to start breeding.
couple of good books on breeding . James Loud is really good & his book is very informative. if u goto his site he has bundle deals where u can book & genetics or Amazon has it . try doing a solo cup breeding project . it good way to learn . don’t keep any males near the females u dont want to pollinate & always change clothing after u near the males . good luck it a lot of fun to create ur own seeds
I went and checked out the book bundles 🔥 I’m definetly going to have to buy one. Thanks for letting me know about it. If I’m successful with this breeding project I may use the offspring and try a solo cup breeding project next. that makes a lot of sense for time, space and materials used.
Moved the girls outside. I got my privacy wall basically finished minus a few planks. I will plant them in the ground in the next few days.
hell yea. this is my first outdoor grow and they have 3 months before they start flowering so they are going to be huge. I’m excited.
I have a grow not currentyl listed on here (gonna wait for the kickstarter) and i germinated those guyse back in April. Gave them all a topping on the first of may and they have been growing beautifully.
more fucking wind. blew over my fence. broke wires and stripped screws. killed 2 autoflowers, probably 1 of my fruity pebbles, broke off 1/4 of another fruity pebble plant and all but destroyed a gods glue plant. I’m soooo fucking pissed. I rebuilt my god damned lawfully required fence so the fucking pansy cops don’t get offended by my plants being in view. dug in more post and added more crossmemebr reinforcement that’s attached to the corral. I’m fucking over this shit
Damn bro, this deeply sucks. Been there with a cheap greenhouse that flipped over during a storm. If you need brother, send me a DM and i can hook you up with some fem/reg seeds i have been sitting on. Dont stop growing!
I really appreciate it brother. I got something like 35 plants in my house 😅2 of them are clones without a home. it’s just upsetting because they are 2 months old and the only reason I put up that damn fence is because the law requires it. luckily i moved the big plants on the other side. I’ll keep on growing though because it’s more upsetting spending money at the dispensary haha. I appreciate your offer though and I’m always down to trade genetics in the future. I’m trying to start breeding and I will need grow testers for sure.
True that. Im happy my neighbors also grow and arent snitches. Keep striving on man, i just cant afford to pay %30 in taxes for pot. You would think with legalization it would have gotten cheaper. Just encourages folks to grow their own but these bullshit rules suck. Technically, im only allowed 6 plants but these federales can wipe me
most of the weed in our dispos suck. they lie on the testing to the point that the state has set up its own testing facility to test the testers. but the laws are awesome. 3oz on my person, 8oz at my house, and 1oz concentrates, 72 grams edis and 12 plants. no household limits and I can be a caregiver up to 5 times so I can possess 5x more of everything. and from my understanding they can still have their maximum amount too
more storms. The new reinforcements on my fence seem to be holding well so I think it should withstand the wind this year. with all the rain we have been getting I haven’t really had to water. the plants are doing well. the wind has been blowing them around quite a bit but not breaking any branches so it should make for sturdy plants. the small plant that got smashed by the fence will survive, though 50% has been lost. The branches are long enough should be able to train it into a bush.
the ladies are looking pretty good. they are starting to look a little nitrogen deficient which is expected as it’s about time for a top dress. I’m waiting for my 4-4-4 and worm castings I ordered to get in
Good combo on that 4-4-4 and worm castings. Been watching Mr. Canucks Grows and that’s essentially his formula for living soil. Just missing the biochar but he was able to grow some massive plants.
yea that’s what im doing, just the poor man’s version lol. I’m using happy frog instead of the promix and I’ll get some biochar and compost eventually. this in my first run. I used to run gen hydro cocoponics but my well water is like 1000ppm where I’m living now so I’m trying organics and the grow dots which can handle a higher EC. Mr. Canuck does grow some bad ass flower so I had to use his formula haha
I’m proud to introduce the newest addition of the outdoor garden, PPF1 and PPF3 🎊They will spend a leisurely afternoon in the shade on the back porch until they are moved to the garden after work. I mixed 1 bag of Happy Frog with 1 bag of Gaia Green worm castings, dusted the roots with Recharge and transplanted into 5 gallon containers.
that’s what I like to hear! I haven’t tried it. my friends girl picked out the strain and the genetics looked good. I’m excited to try it out.
the wind has beat the shit out of the girls. I’m going to have to find something to prop up one of them. I moved them closer to the fence for now to help give these ladies a break.
those trellis frames i use work just as well outside too
luckily the wind didn’t rip the roots out. it looked close though. what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger 💪
I plan on having a better set up next year. I was thinking about building a raised bed and burying some pvc pipe in the corners so I can makes a removable trellis like that.
I got some fiberglass posts that I propped droopy up with few days ago. they are all doing well but needing some nutes. I’ve waited for 1.5 weeks for my Gaia 4-4-4 to get in from California… I may try using some of my emerald harvest nutes I have leftover. the pink passion fruits seems to be happy outside.
finally got the Gaia Green 4-4-4 in. I ordered another container so I have enough to finish all my grows I have going. top dressed 2:1 4-4-4/2-8-4 @3 tbsp a gallon. The PPF are loving it outside. they are growing like crazy. I decided I’m not going to top #3 and see how big she gets.
I have watered these since I planted but apparently I haven’t given them a good enough soak. 1 fruity pebbles was extra thirsty. I ran the sprinkler and gave them a good soaking but it was windy AF. I’ll probably give them a good soak daily over over the weekend.
Nice looking garden there Smokie! I'm hoping to have a similar garden setup next spring
What a vibe 🌲🔥 my cuts i placed outside are vibing as well. What are you using for your mulch layer? Any suggestions?
set your water timer to 5-6 am. watering during the sunny day isn’t advisable, or you can water at night they don’t really care much for cold water on them. a soaker hose maybe a better option. moist soil absorbs water better than dry soil, water often. morning and night. suggestion only of course. 😊
I don’t have a mulch layer atm. I was planning on making a trip to tractor supply this weekend to get some hay to spread around. next year I’ll probably plant some clover for cover crop
I’ve just been kinda wingin it with this outdoor garden lol. I thought I may plant 1-2 outside in lick tubs. then one thing led to another 😅 after seeing the wind blow harder than the water could spray I figured soaker hoses would be the way to go haha. I didn’t know they had water timers I’ve just been watering on lunch break I’m definitely going to order one if I can’t find it in town this weekend when I go get some hay and look for a soaker. Thanks SIX!
on one of my plants I found 4 of these, and 1 on another. I cut off the damaged branches. i will be ordering some Captain Jacks Bacillus Thuringiensis foliar spray to combat them.
I haven’t done an update in a while. most of the plants have just started growing pistils. I’m not sure if they are actually starting to flower or preflowing because one of the fruity pebbles has been pre flowering for almost a month. the growth has been pretty strong over the last 2 weeks and I thought to myself it looks like they were stretching. I’ll monitor this week and decide how I want to fertilize this weekend on my scheduled top dress
I can’t wait until these go full flower. I’m definitely going to better prepare for an outdoor crop next year because I’m really surprised with how well they have been growing.
I finally got a soaker hose in and hooked up. I will have to remove and replace it when I get my nutes in the next few days. I got a trellis in as well and as soon as my nutes are in I will top dress and trellis the grow.
one of the plants has been perpetually deficient and thirsty since flower. I think I’m going to chop it so it doesn’t hermie.
all the clones are doing really well. they look healthy. the 2 remaining fruity pebbles are doing good. one looks like it partially reveged earlier in the grow but the flowers are going huge on her
I did a final topdress 4lbs Gaia 2-8-3 and 2lbs Gaia 4-4-4. I mixed with used coco and spread around the plants. I redid my water lines and gave it a thorough soak
Attempting to clone from my massive fruity pebbles plant. idk if it will work but I’m going to try. I’m contemplating trimming the buds off the stems for the cloning. I may cut 2 more clones tomorrow and trim off the buds and see if there’s a difference. used root riot cubes and CloneX gel. i put them in the clone dome on 20/4 light. I also cut a NYC diesel clone.
I thought perhaps this was a reveg but I’m not sure. the only characteristic it really has is one and 3 finger leaves but it didn’t start showing pistils until early July and started blowing up flowering when the rest of the plants did. either this was a reveg or this is a huge producing plant. it’s about to get revegged and cloned now though. buds as big as coke bottles. they will be the size of 2 liters before harvest I’m sure.
haven’t really done much with these girls. we got some rain so I haven’t watered for a week. everything is looking good and the smell is really starting to emanate
They look so healthy and green!
I have just been watering on occasion and mostly leaving them be. they are really starting to fatten up and the smell is amazing. it smells so much better than the indoor grow of pink passion fruit
for sure! living in No Man’s Land, I really expected to have some shitty plants outdoors 🤣but this has turned out so well that I’m really going to apply myself to an outdoor grow next year. I’ve learned a lot and I’m already planning how I’m going to do it next year.
thanks bro I’m super excited. I’m going to be stocked up for a while lol I kind of wish I had more variety in there, but next year I will for sure.
Trim from the bushes and leave the stalks and leaves, stomp em down in the soil and then till back into the soil for next year, put all that carbon they collected back into your soil 😉
that’s what I was thinking. I have a little compost pile in my barn of used coco and plant material from my inside grows that I started last August. I was thinking I could mix it in too
100% let them. Worms and outside microbes do their job and super enrich that soil. Will be great for next season
I harvested a week earlier than I would have liked but the trichomes were mostly foggy. the caterpillars were getting really bad. I will wait a day or two and go through chopping some leaves and the bad buds. luckily nothing looks rotten
Smokie my man! What an accomplishment hats off to you 👏 I'm just imagining trim day for you hope you got a few friends or a trimming machine 😂
Thanks i appreciate it! I learned lots from this grow and I’m setting up a plan for next year already. I got two friends coming over next weekend for trim and shrooms, and I got a hand crank trimmer for the smalls.
I had a lot of issues with bugs this grow and had to toss a lot of bud. I processed this all with my hand crank trimmer and got probably 10-15 gallons of trim. I still ended up getting about 50 ounces of smokable bud that isn’t horrible quality. it isn’t up to par with my indoor but I will smoke it regardless. I’m going to turn all the trim into bubble hash and keep the best stuff for smoking and make edibles out of the rest. I may start another thread specifically for processing and making edibles with recipes, how to’s, and pictures.
That would be awesome being my lungs are about to quit on me. Have to find some edibles that work that I like soon.
you may want to look into making rosin. I made a ton of it with my outdoors. just heat and press your bubble hash through a 25micron bag. and use a lookah seahorse to smoke it. your lungs will clear up. only takes one hit.
I’m pretty new. It’s all I can do to try to keep the temps right in my tent. Have to keep eye on constantly. There’s gotta be a easier way lol
Well, I know the rest just don’t have that money
Most of the seedbank grow i had is boof. Lavender strain, disappointing. Gelato strain, underwhelming. The Godfather OG is the only one that came out well.
I can do that. I’ll post a budder, a chocolate and gummies recipe. with the budder you can put it into most things you cook.
heat will drop humidity. the cold at night will raise the humidity. you can add humidity to your tent to help drop the temps. use a box fan and force air through the mesh vents at the bottom. there is a build-a-soil video the explains VPD and DLI and I would recommend watching it. VPD is key. you can let your temps get up to 85 if you have proper VPD
I’ve been looking into what strains would be good for outdoor growing for next year. my fruity pebbles turned out the worst. the pink passion fruit plants had distinct phenos inside but they were pretty homogenous outside. I can’t tell the difference between one pheno and another. I’m glad your godfather OG turned out well. that will be a strain to remember for next year. at least we will have plenty of edibles lol
thanks
thanks
those are looking nice! did you clone your tops?
Not this time. I only cut off about an inch because I want to get the auxiliary branches started stretching early. I plan on taking clones in the future. This is going to be my first breeding project
breeding is fun. you can get some crazy stuff! good luck
