Discreet packaging, the BEARer of seeds has come. 2 x Bruce Banner in paper towel method for germination. Other seeds put away for storage.
Clonex CCS will be used to kick start the ladies once showing
Its a nutrient mostly used with clones but is also used for seedlings, I was recommended to use it to improve rooting during seedling stage.
Did they seriously come in a teddy? lol that’s freaking awesome if it did, top tier discrete packaging lol
Sprouted seed has been placed in soil, Clonex CCS mix has been added for water.
2nd non sprouting seed left in paper towel. Ordered a new self watering pot as well. 1 seed going in that, the other in veg garden all natural
This is always my least favorite part
Oh yeah? Which aspect of it? I've only done this part 3 times including this one. So dont have much to go off
Just the control part lol. I want them all to make it but sometimes they don’t. And I feel like I’m watching paint dry waiting for a sign of life 😂
Fair point. Its this waiting part I am hoping teaches this 40yr old to finally learn patience haha. But get you when they don't pop its sad
Same lessons here my friend. “They” tricked me into watching something try to live…next thing that happened was I started helping it or vice versa
Checking in on her daily, making sure she has enough water. So keen for this one to go the distant after frying the last one. New self watering pot arrived too
Like @Lynchcorp said, best to let it dry back before each watering to prevent roots from dampening off. Good rule of thumb is 10% water per soil volume each watering and adjust as needed.
No all good, you were right. I lifted the pot it was too heavy. So she is removed from the tray with water to dry out. Never take advice badly, all good mate
Sometimes people do get weird when your trying to help lol. Get a fan out let it blow on lower part of pot not the plant tho an warm it up to 80 to dry out
Getting up to 89 where I am today so that will help. Will do the fan plan. People do get weird for sure, downside to humans
Letting the medium dry out as per advice. She is bouncing back after looking pretty sad late yesterday.
Two other beans popped just in case as a backup. Thanks Lynchpin for the advice
Loving this app and community
Looks like u need some plant spray I use foop plant spray at this stage .looks like u having a magnesium deficiency 2. Times I know u need cal mag once right here and week 5 flower u ussally need it I buy Epsom salt and gypsum or oyster flour
Last one didn't survive. Loved it too much.
So here we go again, 50% germination rate again. Not happy, but what can you do.
Straight into new big pot, but have used 50ml of water to plant the sprouting seed. Leave it alone now Grizz
If it takes a while for a seed to germinate in paper towel method, It's worth a shot to snip the pointy tip with a clean nail clipper, I've tried it after a stubborn seed to too long to pop and its tail started growing
It was in a shot glass for 48hrs prior, then went in paper towel. Previous 2, the small one was in papertowel for nearly 2 weeks and nothing. I am leaving it for awhile to see though
Plant the seed directly in some seed starter soil instead of the paper towel method & use spray bottle with spring water & lightly mist the top of soil. More u handle the seed the more problems u will have .
Will be much easier to just plant in seed starting soil or coco . Plant seed 1/4 inch deep & use a spray bottle to moisten the top of soil . Use bottled spring or distilled water. Always best to use spray bottle for seedlings, overwatering is most common mistake new growers will make & then u will spray further from base of plant to allow the feeder roots to expand by searching out for water
Another light spritzing as I await the lady to break ground.
Not having much success with this stage. 😕
I soak my seeds for 30 min in Spark, then I sow direct to soil in the tent. Keep it 75° to 80° F about 75% RH, soil temps also in that range, I use baking thermometers to keep an eye on the soil temps, put a small cloche on top after watering the seed in with about 2 cups PH'd 6.2ish water with a light dose of Si, and a sprinkle of Mycorrhizae, i also put a pinch of it in the little seed hole. I will water about 200ml or 1 cup PH'd to 6.2ish as the soil dries out. With a humidifier running in the tent that is a slower process, and I tend to just water once a day over the top of the cloche. Usually get little babies in about 3 or 4 days with this method. I am growing autoflowers though, someone with more experience could probably explain better.
Spark is a product from Homegrown Cannabis, for soaking seeds for 30 min before you place them in paper towels or the dirt. I am pretty sure its like soaking them in hydrogen peroxide. It softens and sterilized the shell.
Ah right. Just saw a video on this % of solution helping, so this is pre made version. Thanks for that
Yeah, it was an impulse buy when purchasing some seeds. I have not had a single dud since starting using it, so It's just part of my routine now...
Free Greenhouse which I am putting the grow in. Planning to get fans to ensure air circulation.
I will be anticipating big juicy buds for you brother. Can almost smell how good its going to be in there!
Is this something I should be concerned by?
I'm not sure why but I've had seedlings that look like they been thru the ringer even right after they pop torn edges n that, they seem to grow well just something that caught my eye a time or ti2
I just uprooted the 2nd lavender I had. It started like that and just kept growing wonky and all deformed leaves. I just planted another to replace it. I think my situation was a Genetic defect. I was scared it was some disease so I quarantined it right away.
Just replaced it with a photo. I should’ve just let it grow. You definitely right. The chickens loved it as a snack though 🤣
Ahhhh it might have been my light. I had it on like 50% but it was still bright af. But the other seed things were doing fine so I was like TF?
Back from an awesome camping trip and right back into it. Pure Adrenalin and Mac OG. PA in wicking pot, OG into the others. Testing the difference between transplanting and auto and not thus two different setups.
Drying her back. She is looking super happy. Sharing the strain info from GP in shot 4.
