Grow Timeline (5 updates)
With the hemp loophole being closed up and uncertainty in the seed market I'm going to use this summer to make some more crosses and even attempt to save some pollen. I've never had luck saving pollen so if you have any tips lay em on me!!! Here's the plan. Can change at any moment but this is what we got so far. Hoping the male is going to be corpse flower (90s super skunk x Uncle fester skunk #18). Females will be corpse flower and the African Black magic (faster pheno) I've been playing w this winter, Will keep you updated on that end. But first things first let's get these corpse flowers up and going and get the African magic cloned out

-african Black magic. I've been running this pheno for about a year. One of my favorites Lemon/pepper/earthy smell. Flowers real fast. Stativa all the way
-Bloody mango CBD. Currently in week 3 of flower in tent, whole grow room smells of mango because of it. Haven't seen this one through to harvest so I'm slightly apprehensive but it will also be my first CBD/THC cross so I figured I'd just go for it based on smell alone

chose this male out of 3 that popped. Heavy pepper smell on stem rub, very short, compact growth. Broad leaf. Discarded one male that had more stativa type leaves w lemon smell, and other male was taller.

If it's female it gets added in. If it's male. I dont know what I'm going to do with it. It may replace corpsey male if I like the stem rub more. Part of me wants to keep the male donor straight skunk, other part of me likes the idea of a peach pheno cuz everything has skunk in it anyway.

Pic 1 is pheno 2. Lighter green, broad leaf. Little funk smell, little lemon smell.
Pic 2 & 3 is pheno 3.
This pheno interests me. Dark green broad leaf. Grew real short but stretched to 3x it's size. Good potential for scrog. The smell is where it gets interesting. Sharp acrid smell at first. Makes you want to pull away and clear your nose but when you go in for a second smell....oranges. I don't know how much of those terpines will get overpowered by the volatile sulfur compounds in late flower and cure.
Collected pollen from flowers on corpsey. Pollen dried for about 6 days. Was thinking about storage. Had some #5 gelcaps floating around. So I started thinking single serve pollen doses. Took each gelcap and added a few grains of rice. Poured some pollen in. Added gelcaps and a dessicant pack to an amber jar. Threw all that into a mason jar and will store that in the freezer.
When I need some pollen I can take a single gelcap out and thaw, hopefully leaving the remaining pollen undamaged from freezing and thawing. I don't know if it'll work. Only one way to find out 🤪💚💚
Doing it thing outside. 1 gallon pots kind of suck, need watering more than I'm willing to do so they get limpy at times. When you're not going for yeild you can neglect the shit out of them lol. As always the male is in full flower before the females even start, just collecting this pollen and when the ladies start to flower I'll bring out the male clones to give them a fresh pollen donor
Good idea, I use the little vials that seeds come in.
Those tubes are great!! Not sure why I didn't think to use those. Have 100s of them. Guess in my brain just said, nope those are for seeds lol
