u need to have a lot more soil . leave about an inch from the top & drill 1/4 holes in bottom of bucket . a plant that small in a 5 gallon bucket u will tend to overwater. use a spray bottle to mist around base of plant .
I did all that a about a week ago she's doing a lot better now

that depends on plant size . only water if u put ur finger into soil & is dry . u can always start off with a small amount & add more if u need to . add water & wait . overwatering can be detrimental & will cause stunted growth & can’t come back from that .
ok u should be better now . happy frog soil doesn’t have as much nutrients as ocean forest . u be good for few weeks. always only use 1/4 strength of the nutrients says on the bottle especially when growing Auto’s.

I've got a northern lights started as well she just popped out of her seed. and thanks for the watering tips. I feel like that's the hardest part. now since I have 5 gallon buckets I can definitely grow multiple plants in one bucket right?
only 1 plant per container. u be better getting fabric bags . this way the roots are aerated. don’t grow multiple plants in 1 container they’ll be competing for the nutrients

just keep it simple . don’t micromanage. we all had our 1st plant at one time . really best to just start with 1or 2 plants at 1st & learn how to be able to read what the plant is telling u . keep learning the different stages of the plant & what they need during each stage . u growing autos or photo’s ?
I have 2 autos check my latest post, it's the green gelato that's entered vegetation stage. She's been in it for about a week now.And the one in the smaller cannonist, northern lights, both are autos
definitely with autos only do 1/4 strength of nutrients. with autos they not in veg long enough to feed veg specific nutrients ,they get enough from the soil . . Autos have no room for error. when u start to see signs of flowering then u can feed 1/4 strength nutrients which will more phosphorus & potassium the P&K
what kind of soil are you using? pre amended solis tend to give seedlings nutrient burn.
it's just regular Walmart brand potting soil
did you spray water on it? looks like light burn.
if other leaves had burned tips I would say nutrient burn. it’s the only one and it’s white not brown.
you should start feeding her. tiny amount of nutrients. should be 2-2-2 for this stage. use cal mag every feed!

organic preferably I've heard fox farm is pretty good stuff

I use farmers pride for organic, it’s reasonable in price

check ph and ec or tds for everything you put in. soil runoff data isn’t that helpful, hydro or coco for runoff, it will however help you to get a rough idea what’s happening in your root zone. watch her leaves and stocks, they are the communicators for the plant. just remember to use half of what your nutrients recommend to use. start low. most important, is cal mag.
I will dial back the water. I think she's also getting too many nutrients from the soil. I planted her with miracle grow. I didn't know you're not supposed to do that. this is my 1st plant I've ever done. she starts vegetation stage in about 4 days . I'm going to let the soil dry out a good bit before I add anymore anything.
Looks like your probably over watering. Not sure what your lighting situation is or your nutrient regime but at this stage of the plant it doesn't need much water at all
That will likely solve the issue. If you can, try to grab some bushdoctor coco loco and or some fox farm soil. Mix in a little perlite it drains nicely
im getting a few bags of happy frog organic and bush doctor cocoloco im going to make a half and half mix and try to transplant mine out of the miracle grow. and also start 2 new seeds in germ

Sounds good... Dont forget to add some perlite, it will help with drainage and make sure those roots aren't getting watter logged. Good luck!

I use ff happy frog to germ and start veg for 3.5-4 weeks with no nutrients with autos. look into supersoil, makes it harder to f up and just top water.
She is craving for more light. You should have added more soil in the beginning. I would not recomend taking her out and adding more soil now, because shes an auto. But you could add soil up to the first leaves + she'll become a bit sturdier.

yeah she's looking luscious and thriving. also the northern lights just sprouted her tail out of the seed earlier today. she's growing in the coconut soil. also a smaller container then the buckets.
what type of container u start in . look into the root riot cubes or the jiffy pots both u can just put right in soil & have no transplant shock . works great with the Autos

Google icangrow cans by royal queen seeds they're tons of strains it comes with everything. coconut substrate. nutrient pack. vented can. and 3 seeds depending on strain you pick premiums come with 2 seeds

I had helped a buddy who does tests for there genetics. they best autos . I have done there Walter white , Girl Scout monkey & strawberry nugz . I might pop a few of em for outside grow . I still have bunch of there seeds. fast buds 420 are good too . autos really isn’t the best to learn on. . a lot of people think that it is . if u make mistakes with plant it doesn’t have anytime to recover. I like to top multiple times
yeah im slowly getting into it the more I learn ill switch over to photos and learn to bush them out. im just limited on space rn that's why I stick to singles. I was going to try some outdoor ones now that the weathers broke
give outside a try . autos are nice to have perpetual grow . when u get space u start a few then pop beans every 25 days . I remember when autos first came out they sucked was only low Ryder. what a huge difference it is now . Autos are really good now . I don’t care what anyone says no one can tell difference when u smoke it . u got this . 👍
She definitely looked hungry. The best advice I can give to watering is letting her dry out (dont kill her) and then feeling the weight. Give her as much water as she needs (you can test the run off for any deficiencies) and then feel her weight. Gives you a clue as to how much shes drinking per day.
once I watered her with the nutrients she perked up and looks like she's thriving now 🙂

Good luck brotha! Remember, she’s a weed so shes tough. Worst you can do is overwater and underfeed. I see you are inside, definitely look into topping and LST. It well help with space management.

I just topped her like 4 days ago? she's been in vegetation for 4 weeks and some days now. could she really be flowering already?
It could just be my eyesight but it appears that sugar leaves and pistils have started growing. Pistils are the white hairs that turn brown/red/yellow/orange in time. Sugar leaves are the 3-tipped leaf that usually gets covered in trichomes.

Could have just been a finicky plant or just some genetics. At this point, you should treat her as you would if she was 1000 ft. Just because you wont get high yield does not mean that you wont grow fire

Gelato, in general, can have a flowering time of 56-70 days (8-10 weeks) I dont feel as bad now. not bad for my 1st plant now though next one will be a demon 😝 i know what to do the whole time now 🫡
Autos are quick forsure but photos are a lot more forgiving. Im going to grow more autos soon just to dip my toe, we’ll see what comes.

yeah unfortunately during her seedling stage i had to transplant her because I moved into my new house and she was out in the shed at my old house. and like a dummy I planted her in miracle grow 😂😂 she was burning alive. so I moved her into a bucket of happy frog soil and she started thriving also I bought a much more powerful spider farmer led light setup and it was too much for her. she's my first plant ever. but knowing now what know my next plant will be a monster 🫡
Im sorry to hear that, ive had one auto flower prematurely after i tried to start her off in a smaller pot. I killed her as soon as i saw her flower early and only start in the final pot now 😢🤧. I dont want to sound rude but why didnt you start over when she started to flower that early? You will need to put down alot of work and time for a yield of a spliff or two :/

plus it said online her grow cycle was 9 weeks. she's been going for 11 right now 🧐 i stunted her growth but I've got 2 northern lights growing outside rn and im about to start and indoor seed from mephesto genetics here soon. she'll be an animal. I finally got some fabric pots too which will help immensely with watering 🫡

i’d wait for them hairs to curl up and be mostly orange, no clear trichomes, mostly milky with some amber. could be a few days could take a few weeks, this still looks like it can mature a lot more though. good luck

u know no offense but it's not ready yet man .why don't I watch some videos on u tube highagin is a great follow we got a get u growing a huge plant man many of us would love it if u asked for some help we can't keep what we have unless we give it away u know .good soil for u would be ocean forest or happy frog then let's get u some lights mars hydro appeals to the broke and people with money u can get a real nice 150 watt ts series for about 150$ then let's get u some nutrients get tps one and Silca and there foliar spray about 100$ for those nutrients Amazon had great deals on grow equipment then let's get u a pH kit from general hydro 20$ boil your city water 25 mins let it cool and pH .good luck u can always p.m one of us love to help
just a tip, boiling water Can cause a concentration of minerals, when boiling for that long, it evaporates water and salt and minerals stay. 👍
I have a good light, I have great soil, I have new fabric pots, i have great nutrients, i have great seeds from mephesto genetics i have learned a lot over the course of this plant. I know the yield wont be a lot. but she is still producing buds. and im not putting her down im seeing her through until the end. I know she isnt ready she's got weeks left. its the first plant I've ever done in my life. I dont have the heart to put her down at this stage. put my next grows will be very good i can promise that. I appreciate the comment 🙏 also the light is a spider farmer 3.0 I paid 90 bucks for it, its like a damn sun in my closet. I didnt have a lot of money in the beginning of my grow she also started in my shed because I was living in a camper waiting on my house to be built on my land 😂😂😂 so she was in the shed. she survived a transplant as well. I just dont have the heart to put her down brother lol but everything is in place for a great 2 plants next grow
her ph has also sat around 6.8 the entire grow I've never had to do anything to adjust her ph. she's been through a lot bro the fact she even made it to flower is shocking she will die an honorable death 💔 🎖

looking good , good luck . is that fly paper in the pot ? make sure it doesn’t have chemicals in it . I have to hang them on my garage. I keep door half opened & have fertilizer’s and they attracted to that . if u having trouble with fungus gnats then get mosquitoe bits & use that in the water . works great & safe . after I set up my pots before I start a grow I’ll flush soil with that mix & use yellowing sticky traps

Do u have a lot of fungus gnats? they can be slowing growth . I also u can use a spray pump or sprayer with mosquito bits & stay the soil . gnats feed on the plants feeder roots & will slow growth. they like the soil wet .
when you say mosquito bits what do you mean exactly. should I be putting something into the soil in place of the fly paper. a buddy at work told me they'll come up and get stuck to the paper that's the only reason it was there. it's just the glue ones. no harsh chemicals I don't think. this is my first plant ever so I truly have no idea what I'm doing lol. 😂😂 I've been winging it and she's doing ok. she's an autoflower green gelato.
mosquito bits is sold in hardware stores. they are granular bits that u put 4 TBS in a 1 gallon bottle . let sit 30 minutes then strain water with bits in it into a empty 1 gallon bottle then next water use a small amount . u have a seedling so be careful u don’t overwater. yellow sticky traps are only to identify how many gnats u have . . being that u have a seedling u can put bits in spray bottle & spray on the top around the outside of the plant . I know all this can be overwhelming & confusing at first. trust me we all have gone through all sorts of issues.
any questions just reach out . everyone has there own style of growing. problem is there is so much info it gets confusing. when I started out none of this internet existed. I learned from my great uncle who was growing weed since the ‘30s. no nutrinets until the plant die a couple weeks & water seedlings with spray bottle. 👍

what I do is I treat the pot that I’m going to transfer into with the bits before I transplant into pot . a lot of the soil has the fungus gnats in it & there larvae . the soil sits around in grow stores & gets damp . people also will dump the soil in tubs & let it dry . I prefer my method . if they only have mosquito Dunks it same thing , get that & put dunk in gallon zip lock bag & crush it .

thanks but i still run into a lot of trouble as well . I just got back into growing 3 years ago & was only doing outside runs. I did 7 years for growing & was on parole for 5 & wasn’t able to grow . so after parole ended it became legal here & this past fall started the tent grow .

use seed straw, a nice layer on top will help. makes it hard for them to thrive. use this with a nat spray. I have used this with great results

need oil works to . u can spray plants in veg , just don’t spray while u flowering. best to switch before pest sprays. they build resistance. like I said the mosquito bits has the bio pesticide. I put it in pump sprayer & did soil drench . knocked em out on 2 drenches . this was when I first prepped soil . . good luck & use the yellow sticky traps . they only for monitoring the gnats population to see if u got it under control . lay them horizontally over soil & see how it looks in few days . I staple them to the ice cream sticks . I cut the bottom into an angle

yeah i used some neem oil spray around the edge of the pot. sticks didn't show any gnats yet but they could be on the bottom feeding at the root so I sprayed the soil good. and drilled some air holes in the bottom of the bucket 🪣
definitely need to have the drainage holes at bottom . don’t add any nutrients for awhile. wait 5-7 days before u spray & keep monitoring & make sure u not overwatering. they thrive in soggy conditions. keep it simple & u be ok .

is that in the soil u have the plant in ? means too much water in medium & high humidity. either change the medium, make sure u have enough drain holes at bottom of pot .if u have any skewer sticks or chopsticks to make some holes in top of soil to aerate it . careful to not overwater, biggest mistake new growers face . I done it .i think that is what u are asking ?
yes thank you 😊 I just drilled about 15 small/medium holes in a circle pattern on the bottom of the bucket and I pulled the mushroom out. I've been letting the soil dry out every day until I can stick my pinky in and not feel moisture at least. I'm omw home now I'll post a Pic of her when I get there. her leaves are kind of drooping compared to yesterday they were strong and facing up towards the light. the soil most definitely has been too wet and it's in my shed which gets no air flow really.... should I add a fan so it gets some breeze? she looks taller then yesterday but this is the first time I've seen any fungi or eggs of any kind I picked out what I could
u definitely need a fan gently blowing on it from a distance. it will harden her up & it needs air circulation. when the plant goes into flower stage if air is stale & to humid it will be all bud rot . u having it grow in shed? u running a grow light or u putting it outside? needs at least 18hours of light & to flower it needs 12/12 hours. if u can find way to vent shed that would help . they don’t like temps over 88
