Grow Timeline (3 updates)
Just love, tote tek, living soil, fire genetics, & organic nutes🔥
No, I haven't topped or done any training at all but BubbaFly's (1st pic) lateral branches are popping out the side so symmetrically it's wildly beautiful. I do believe she's going to need a net before too long. At that time she'll be taking over the 4x4 all on her own. Man, I love funky bushy ladies & I cannot lie! 😂

My biggest BubbaFly (photo reg) is a boy 😩 chopping down & adding him to the compost. If I had the space to keep him separate I would definitely collect some pollen because the structure is just ridiculously beautiful. Thankfully my brother has this line preserved though. 🙏🏻
😣Good catch and a good idea! How long can pollen keep? Do you freeze it if your not using it immediately?
Yep, to bad you can’t neuter these kinds lol I think it would be cool to have an extra space to make seeds and do some breeding. Hopefully one of these days I’ll have be a strain called Appalachian hellbilly lol
Freezing definitely gives you more time to work with it for sure. I've only ever pollinated anything successfully once a few years ago, but it was what helped start up BlueridgeGenetics so I'm proud to have done that. Hopefully in the near future I'll have more time and space to preserve & work my own line. I don't ever have any plans of mass producing anything but with the seed ban coming in November I would like to have some stuff in the freezer before too long for personal use.
Yeah I've had to pluck my fair share of 'nanners' before 😂 but this is just what you get with regs. I still love them though bc yeah I want to be able to make my own crosses in the future.
I always wanted to do that make my own gens pretty cool! I’ll be following and asking questions for sure! 😎you sound like a botanist
I think it would be cool to put Va on the map as having some good cultivars, it’s already a good place to grow, many strains do good here we just need a few of us working on some strain made right here
Ah sucks I appreciate the sentiment but I'm just a small craft grower at best. It helps weirdly that I have ADHD & possibly a touch of the tism so I've hyper focused on cultivating for 5 years now 😅
While I agree I do have to add a correction we need MORE people cultivating for growth specifically in VA & not just Eastern VA. I know a good bit of breeders from here that have been cultivating long before the legalization in 2021 that have successfully created lines that are acclimated to the environment here. If you're on discord, I can send you a link to a couple different groups where you can get to know those breeders if you'd like. And if you're on IG just shoot me a message on there @salem.grows.va & I can send you directly links to their pages.
Even so most great to amazing growers are hobbyists and in my field of work they can vary in skill from eh to really good, I’m sure you’ve tried other time to pollinate and they may not have worked lol but like to pioneer a strain that jump starts a company is big Salem. You can’t deny that
Same! I spent hours with a microscope and tweezers plucking as many nanners as I could because I was not going to lose it that close to the finish line. Still turned out to be some fire too 🙌🏼🔥
I was too green to do that I lost a Jack herer plant that week 🙃 but I later read that that particular set of gens often did that
I’m on both yeah I’ll shoot ta a message when I get back home. Yeah I agree all of Va need to be a part of it. But when I see think of southwest Va and all the way to the other side of the blue ridge I think of small coal towns that now don’t have any work a lot who either use to moonshine or had family that did now these places are the poorest in Va the have a good story an outlaw spirit and a real need for money and something to be proud of again a lot of had grown since high school granted a lot of that is just whatever seeds we could find I think with a little skill updating that area can boom and it beeming the poor area in Va it would be easier to get one of those micro cannabis business license I’m bias too lol but all users and grower need to stick together or we will get run out of the cannabis business altogether like in California
Yessir I have a jack herer bagseed going it had two brothers an 2 trans siblings before I found her. Thinking about actually reveging her because her clone is so fucking beautiful
Yeah this strain was fairly 🔥so when they get a little bigger I might take a clone or two for my clone done.
Oh sorry I meant the Salem dude for his male id take a mini clone an grow it slow an flower it small as possible so you don't gota worry about pollen everywhere
I was talking about my jack herer an I got it as a bagseed with ten others an she was the only full female
I couldn't have said any of that any better. 👏🏻 Each one must teach one to keep it going & I wholeheartedly live by that. We have a lot of growers around here but most are still traumatized from prohibition. They are out there though. Allegedly (lol) I might have ran a pretty successful "hemp retail facility" for a few years where I also hosted free growers gatherings here in SW VA. I'm grateful to know at least 20 people that I've been able to help start, maintain, & harvest their grows. Even though I don't work there anymore I still keep in contact with a lot of them anytime they need help or want to test the potency of their recent harvest. I'd love to get back to that, gathering & sharing for sure. We definitely need more not for profit events in this area.
That's not a bad idea. I'll definitely keep it in mind in the future. As of right now I've got about 30 clones I'm working on hoping at least half take & are of good structure. 🤞🏻
Come harvest we should do a meet up and try each other shit I’ve got a brother and buddy I’m trying to get into growing more and it would be good to meet up with more growers from this area
Most definitely! What county are you in? If we can find a central, safe, private location I have some growmies willing to help set something up!
I live in dickenson county about 5 min from the break interstate park, heck yeah meet at a park or something there are plenty in sw va that are good or meet at a restaurant if we could find a good place to smoke near by. Do you live in or near Salem?
No fuggin way dude. I'm in Dickenson too! 🤯 On hwy 72 near Clintwood. That's nuckin futz 😂 we definitely have to link up soon.
Week 3 flower for both.
Will update more on next feeding. Started a new 9-5 that has been an adjustment to say the least
Looks like some Ca and Mg issues.. are you adding and Ca or Mg specifically? Epsom salt, gypsum or dolomite lime? I only ask because I know these issues extremely well. The twisty fan leaves on one is early Ca, and the intervenal stripes on the other is Mg. I'm not trying to step on your toes. Just speaking to what I see.
Nah I appreciate it. That's definitely what I was thinking as well. I am using the Cronk nutrients PUUR CalMag & increased the dosage on the last feed a couple days ago. Hopefully I'll be able to report back with some happier looking ladies.
Then youre good bro. Good looking plants too. It'll take a lot more than a little Ca and Mg to hurt these.
Most definitely 🔥 ps I don't mind being called bro but I'm a lady growmie 😅
Lol. My bad..... I see that now! Idk why I always assume. It's a bad habit and thank you for making me think!
It's all good, I'm used to it 🤣 it did remind me to put a profile pic up so thank you!
Love the symmetry on that BubbaFly — super cool first post and a great start to your grow journey 👏 Feel free to DM me anytime if you need anything at all, I’m one of the admins here.
