Grow Timeline (7 updates)
starting on my second mushroom grow. I got a few strains from Tanasi and a second tote to grow in. for my next run will be Golden Teacher and Stargazer. I also got a personal fable in the inoculation tote for a friend who will be growing for the first time that I got the grain jar started until we can meet up. I have a heat mat in the tote and the grain bags and top of a little tote with a towel covering the big tote. hopefully I can get it up to around 80•
Started fruiting this morning. The blocks were releasing metabolites or “shroom pee”. According to the internet it means it’s either healthy or contaminated and it’s not contaminated. Got the light set up above the tubs on full power with one bar over each tub.
I will be paying attention to this. Very interested in possibly starting some mushrooms myself...
First flush of golden teachers is complete. It wasn’t a solid canopy but it filled out very nice. This was definitely a larger producer than my first grow and it took half the time of the first grow. I harvested using the pinch and twist method this time and have my block soaking until tomorrow morning. This time around I will wrap it back in the blanket and wait for it to pin vs the first grow I put it right back into fruiting conditions. Dehydrating at 95• for 24 hours and see how it goes vs 110• the first grow.
I let these go a little longer than the Golden Teacher. The stems were hard until this morning. They did open up and drop some spores but hopefully that doesn’t affect the next flush. I soaked them in water for 13 hours and covering them up until this weekend.

I didn’t catch them before spores dropped. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a 3rd flush. The mushrooms popped off much easier this time and didn’t tear up the substrate as much. Stargazer is starting to grow some shrooms again but I think I fucked it up by letting the spores drop
Looks nice this makes me rember the smell of my uncle's house .I swear u could smell shrooms .if u hAvnt seen the story here .I sold for my uncle when I was 16;he grew shrooms and I ended up making the front page of the paper when I got busted . Was fun while I wZ high He had some killer body buzz shrooms it would feel like I was melting to the gravitron .we went to the local county fair where I sold a 1 lb one might had the whole fair fucked up on shrooms This is one drug id probably still do of I could get a hold of them .I was 16 then now I'm 50

looking good man! I have Albino P Envy, Golden teacher, and Enigma going right now. I have it vented from my propagation tent to the main tent so I get to recycle my CO2 to the main tent and retain the humidity for free. Great minds think alike :-)

Nice! that sounds like a pretty badass set up. I thought about it but I use trichoderma (recharge) in my grow and I would be devastated if it got in my shrooms lol. have you been growing them for long? the way I’m doing it is just in totes with filter patches. i plan on upgrading in the future tho. I’m seriously considering moving to Colorado and starting a mycology business. after having a couple of introspective trips I’ve decided I need to sell my house and quit my job and do something I love doing, which is growing.

Dude same except I would've just be a grower. I've gotten pretty deep into the science of it seeing as though it's my favorite plant ever, used to be tomatoes lol. This is the first batch to help with ptsd and to just try them, I figure why not right lol. I'm looking at the Northspore automation tent to see just how many varieties I can grow (bought a 10 pack of genetics for the wife and I to try ).
I would recommend a Propogation tent if you keep doing them. the smaller footprint and airspace makes for a pretty tightly controlled space that doesn't cost much to operate. I keep mine at 80F and 80% hum , but it's a small space so it's efficient. plus doing the dual zone lighting is can have some plants in the at seedling and veg at the same time making a perpetual grow for our medicine . It was a PIA to set up btw in programming trying to get it to play nice. AC hasn't loaded a profile in yet for the Propogation tent so it doesn't understand the fan speed needed for that cfm. They seem pretty on the ball so I bet they get it.
I want to grow as well but I feel trying to clone and sell liquid cultures and grain/substrate might be the cheapest way for me to get my foot in the door. I’m not sure what’s required to sell mushrooms in Colorado yet. My favorite plant is still cannabis lol but this is a close second.
I will have to look into it. After this shroom and cannabis grow is done I will be taking a little break until I get moved to Colorado so I can save up money and get stuff packed up. But I have been checking out the propagation tents and I love AC infinity as it is so I will be getting one or two after I get moved
