Grow Timeline (4 updates)
Alright fellow growers, I'm gonna give you some more details on what is planned for this run, als well as introduce myself.
First a little support for those of you restricted to the imperial measures:
1 inch is 2.54cm
1 foot is roughly 30 cm,
1 gallon is about 3.8 liters
1 oz is roughly 28 grams
I will only use metric units in my diary.
I'm from Germany, therefore restricted to 3 plants at any stage at any time, as well as being legally limited to possessing a maximum dry weight of 50grams of weed. Depending on the total harvest I might have to dry the buds fully trimmed and without stems, as German law doesn't distinguish between buds and stems or roots. Stupid... but that's how it is at the moment.
Taking this into account I decided to go with a low power low yield setup while using a quality led fixture. 60W of LED lighting including far red seems just appropriate. Yields between 60g and 90g are to be expected if everything goes according to plan.
Concerning the medium I chose growing on soil. From a supplier well-known in the professional gardening market here in Germany, I bought a grow mix premixed with mineral nutrition for roughly 4 weeks. I'll add some of my organic feeding pellets as well as some microorganisms to the mix.
Most importantly I'll treat the soul with SF nematodes, steinernema felt as to be accurate. Once when mixing the soil and once more after 2 weeks to disrupt the reproduction cycle of some bugs. As I grow organically neem oil is prohibited as it wipes out the beneficial stuff as well :)
I will directly plant the jiffy into the final pot when it's ready. So no intermediate 1liter Airpot as originally intended.
The plants will be topped 2 times and kept down with LST bound to a frame made from chopsticks. My thoughts on space:
2x4 tops provides each one with 15cmx15cm in my grow space. Topping a third time for 16 tops would most likely reduce the space to uncomfortable levels. I've tried a run with 6x4 tops and that definitely was too much. I thought about doing the 16 tops in a 5-6-5 row configuration, providing each one with roughly 10cmx10cm, but as the plants are mainly indica, large fan leaves are to be expected, so I opted for 8 tops total.
This may limit yield, but it should enable healthier and fatter buds.
Yield expectations:
RQS states an indoor yield of 400-500g/m² under a 600W HPS, which translates to 72g-90g. That being under ideal conditions I'd accept 15% less as success.
So my goal is achieving 61g-76,5g final dry weight.
First sprout(top jiffy) shows at almost midnight. I'm curious what's to see tomorrow morning.
As it seems I got something wrong in my last post. Now it's actually sprouting. Top one is clearly visible, bottom one is about to push through the soil.
Now the bottom one clearly pushes through. Middle seed is lagging behind. No sign yet.
20 liters of Floragard Growmix
All of the worm castings (1.5kg)
SF nematodes to fight critters
Seedling starter mix
Pelleted organic fertilizer, not weighted, rough estimates
Water used is simple tap water, which is exceptionally good here. No chlorine used to sanitize it! I will have observe if I need to supply CalMag though I added worm castings, as the tap water lacks.
I had to remove my 6.5k fixture because of logistical issues and replace it by the GCx-2. The "canopy" receives roughly 350ppfd 18/6.
The bottom cover still needs to be fixed to the walls, but there is no hurry cuz I likely won't be watering for at least a few days.
When I find my clover seeds I will cover the soil in those for reduced water evaporation.
I chose to transplant into the final Airpots right away, reason being I don't want to interrupt the development of their tap root hoping to achieve perfect root development promoted by the Airpots.
I also chose to use both seedlings for now. Even though one is crippled it started forming its first true leaves, which look good, so I'll give it a chance. At a later date I might revert back to just one flower and ending up transplanting it into a larger likely rectangular pot to better support one plant filling up my space.
Ever have a problem with small white auto seeds from them?!?
My sister grows autos from them. She didn't mention anything.
I got gifted 2 seeds of super sweet skunk the were small an white. They were straight outta a brand new pack an they were jus bought. Jus sad cause I'll never buy from them from jus getting those couple seeds. You would of thought that the quality people would of caught this
How much are those lights you got? That isn't bad 200ppfd given it a app but for 2 that's ok
2x 4.2W 6500K 110° spots at about 30cm height
Are they expensive? some of those grow bulbs r expensive especially if your buying ten
Like 3 Euro a piece plus the GU10 socket
Okay thank ya didn't realize you in UN or sum
Are you in the States?
Ya

Only allowing 50 grams from three home grown plants is crazy. That’s basically zero veg time and let’s be real, that’s maybe two weeks of medicine, if that. Three months of growing for that? Come on, Germany…
Well... Imagine this... They want to make it more restrictive now. .
What?! Yall will have to flip from seed. That’s ridiculous.
