Funkey

Surprised it's that big for window sill or do u have it on a light that we can't see .I hope so

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

Hey Funkey, these are in five gallon fabric pots on a balcony. They are about two months old but i assumed they would be bigger compared to some ive seen on youtube. This is my first grow and they are photoperiods. I think they will grow another two months and then flower for two?

Funkey

Photo period based off sun will go into flower when we change the clocks when u have lights u switch the light schedule.

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

I do not have a light on them but i do move them from the front balcony to the back balcony to get maximum sun. i read that when the days get less than 12 hours long then they will switch to flower. that should happen here in two months. i am hoping for lots of growth till then.

Update sticky traps

No bug treatments but leaves look okay. Added sticky traps and there are small bugs, chatgpt says fungus gnats. Should i be worried?

I had an insane fungus gnat problem at the beginning of one of my grows. Keep the traps in there, and make sure they aren’t eating the roots of your plants. I was lucky and they never got to the roots of mine so I don’t know what it looks like when they do. That being said, all I used was sticky traps and food safe diatomaceous earth and they’re all but killed out now.

Update

Yet to treat for fungus gnats. Waiting for soil to dry a bit. I think still another ten weeks of veg as these are photoperiods.

CannaBee99

Pick up some mosquito bits or the mosquito dunks (crush it before adding to water ) that will help get rid of the gnats & if they severe build a soil WDG-3000 that will work & u can add Diotamaceous eart on top of soil . Get some yellow sticky traps for monitoring them

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

Thanks for info, i looked for dunks but couldnt find them so bought neem oil. Will give it a go once soil dries a bit.

CannaBee99

With the dunks u will need to break apart & crush em up in zip loc bag & pour in water . Walmart & if u have any Ace Hardware stores by u they have em . I would look for the bits & get dunks if u cant find em . Neem oil really wont help eliminate them . U can also get Diomataceous earth . It powder u put on top of soil & it like glass to gnats . Also has silica in it which helps strengthen the branches & cell walls . Yellow sticky traps will help monitor the gnat population so u know if u decrease them

CannaBee99

Good to have a IPM schedule once a week & important to rotate between different pest spray or they will become immune to the chemicals. Good luck , any questions hit me up πŸ€™

Flowers?

Very confused. I was told these plants are photoperiod and we should have two more months of veg before the days are 12/12. Are my plants flowering now? Can something else cause this?

Glitch

I'm assuming you're out doors. It doesn't need 12/12 exactly to flower. Where I live i never truly get 12 day 12 night. In late July/early August I get 10ish hours of dark and start to pre flower. I'm in full flower by late August where I'm getting 11 to 11 1/2 hours darkness. Longer nights, longer twilight, cooler temps all play a factor in when it flowers

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

I guess there is nothing i can do now? They are smaller than i wanted. Im in southern hem and days are still 14 hours. I had intended to lollipop etc but seems too late now.

Glitch

I don't lollipop when I'm outdoors. My reasoning is the sun moves across the horizon hitting all parts of the plant. I didn't know if it's right or wrong, that's just what I do. I'll trim for airflow but that's it. Next year you know to start em a little earlier. Rock with what you got and enjoy a nice outdoor harvest in 8 weeksπŸ’šπŸ’š

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

It will be interesting to see the yeild. They are kinda small still but i hear they can still double in size. I just need to make sure their needs are met.

HealingHands420

Some cultivars can still flower at 14 hours of light

Help!

In three days i went from healthy to this. Soil was wet so letting it dry out. Droopy leaves are all soft. Dont see signs of bugs. Put some food on it, half strength. Didnt want to flush as was worried about overwatering roots.

HealingHands420

Have you been doing a dry back every now and then?

D
doubledpython

you may have some root issues if you’ve been over watering every time. Did you flush all the nutes out? slurry test? definitely let it dry back.

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

Yeah i think it was the fert i added. Not sure but it got better after a flush.

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

Flushed and it got better. Will slury test next water. Thanks for the tip.

Just an update

Still alive at this stage. Something makes me feel like these are autoflowers as we are so far from 12 hour days.

Autoflowers that I have grown, typically shoot up double or more their height in early to mid flower... could be another indicator that they are an auto. Just my observation...

sykfuk

How long did they veg before preflower? That's a dead giveaway if it's an auto. 3-4 weeks?

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

10 weeks. I wasnt expecting photoperiods to kick in for another two months so seemed early.

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

These are short. I initially thought they might grow to three or four feet. They seem much smaller than outdoor photoperiod size i was anticipating. First time grower though.

sykfuk

Definitely not an auto. And if it flipped to flower indoors without changing the light schedule you might have light leak problems or it is stressed in some way. My experience is with autos or I'd hopefully have more information for you.

sykfuk

I just looked at your grow. In a window I'm gonna assume light leaks are causing this. I doubt they are getting sufficient dark cycles if they live where they are in the pictures

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

Thanks for the info. Ill try darker next time. 😁

Get you a jewelers loop

Funkey

U won’t be able to see any amber tricomes with naked eye . Granted you’ll have dark amber hairs not light color dark and your leaves will fade . But get yourself a marijuna jewelers loupe . They make a handheld microscope that hooks to your phone but the one that hooks to your phone 30$ Amazon jewelers loupe like 10-15$ it’s cheap but a must u have to have a jewelers loupe if u wanna grow

Bring your humidity down to 50 55 it'll dry alot better

B
Buzzed_Joint4824

I dont have a dehumidifyer so fingers crossed it does okay. The buds arent that dense so it seems to be drying. I was going to put it in jars after 10 days.

TheGrowBros

It'll just take longer to dry 10 days should be ok you want them slightly crisp on the outside before curing
