doctored up a 54 site vivosun nft wall hanging system. not putting too much into this yet. I don't really like the design, but it was cheaper than buying the PVC to actually build one.
it is not an nft system as they claim. more of a vertical rdwc. the way it's designed the 2" pipes reduce to 3/4 at the end so half the pipe stays full at all times. random pipes down the ladder will fill most of the way with no rhyme or reason I can see that it does. I may change it next run to be all 2" making it more nft than rdwc.
20 gallon reservoir inside the garage. will monitor temps, worse case I can throw the chiller on it as currently it's not needed indoors.
various lettuce, herbs and strawberries

everything you build looks like it's going up to the international space station. it's all next level uber cool. I am going to dub it SpacePunk! You RockIt Dude! Anytime you wanna go ride bikes and throw gravel at frogs 😎

Glitch

I do like shiney things but it's mostly done to try and keep the nute water from baking in the sun lol

SIX

looks awesome, why does this app bury your posts? never know when you post. I have to scroll through older posts to get to your new one. Wtf

Glitch

thanks!! it's probably because I have too much going on lol gets chaotic

TheWookalarKing

makes total sense. still SpacePunk... 😜

Glitch

this makes me want to make a vertical aeroponic tower and shape it like a rocket πŸŒ±πŸš€πŸŒ±.....*off to get more PVC ..... 🀣

TheWookalarKing

DO IT. do a grow with the build in the setup section... Maybe get some seeds from Rocket Seeds πŸ€” Definitely would be EpiC!

HydroponicJunky

stuff

1 1/2 pipe is way too small. will upgrade to 3" for next year. other than that it's been working well despite rez temps in 80s at times.

this is beautiful work brother man

Glitch

thanks!!! I didn't put much effort into the outdoor hydro this year, wanted to see how it would handle the heat of the summer with no cooling. few set backs figuring out dosage of calcium hypochlorite. few tweaks and reconfiguring over the winter, should be good to go

B_Dude

That looks lovely!

needs to be bigger

first foray into outdoor hydroponics and it did surprisingly well for how hot it got. will upgrade the system this winter. bigger pipes is a must. roots clog the system pretty easily, but I also was putting bigger plants in it, like cucumber...... potentially burying reservoir to help passively cool and just make it larger in general

a wall of that would be awesome. any bigger you may have to use steel pipe 😊

Glitch

Its currently has a footprint, wall print technically, of 3'x4' and it's going to get enlarged to fill the entire garage door opening. that's the plan at least, until I get distracted πŸ˜‚

edit: add pic of hydro snake

wow what’s this gonna be? I’m running a continuous drain from dehumidifier to my drain as we speak so iont gotta keep emptying my dehumidifier I can just set it and forget it lmfao

Glitch

I have an outdoor nft/hydro gizmo thingy. it was too small so I decided to rebuild it, right before winter..... but it'll be ready for next season!!! I'll update with some pics of it all glued together tomorrow

Krazie_Gro_Za

How are you liking that Bosch set?

Glitch

I was a carpenter for many a years and got out of the trade, my Hilti set was getting old and beat and couldn't see dropping the coin for it just to use around the house or a random side job. pales in comparison to the Hilti but it's good enough for what I do with it. they make several models look at the specs, the one in big box store sucks make sure you get the contractor one.

TheWookalarKing

Whoa, the spaceship is getting more power!

Krazie_Gro_Za

yo tht is so awesome!!! could grow all types a food n ish with those n never have to go to the grocery store again

Word yeah man I first started out with the older Bosch set and ended up switching to Milwaukee and give pops my old set. Milwaukee fucking blows for everyday all day use. I had to send in my 4 inch portaband like 5 times and also a couple sawsalls and drills. The batteries don’t last worth a crap either.

Glitch

I haven't bought lettuce in several years. it grows so quick. cheap easy way to do it is kratky method. take a jar, put a netpot in top of it. fill with nute water to just over bottom of netpot. start lettuce in Rockwool and put it in netpot w hydroton when it sprouts. the nutes will self water the Rockwool and as water gets used it creates your airspace for the roots. harvest when your out of liquid or keep half full for bigger plants. that's the beauty of running hydro. you always have nute water kicking around πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

still flowing

new system is working great. few tweaks are needed in my transition from germinate to introduction to system. in old version water level was much closer if not touching bottom of the net pots. i will have to just wait a little longer for roots to grow before introducing them to the snake. if roots didn't hit water, I have to top water until they do and I'm lazy and don't want to do that lol
