have it in my closet with 2 other plants, the others are dwarf autos to only get 22-24 inches and are at 15-16 inches. this one is photo period og kush sitting at 15 inches, but i also trained some so it sits lower than it would’ve. my first grow so not sure what i’m doing lol
Thats alright. If you can, think about setting up a trellis net to keep the canopy under control, you would be able to bend the plant down allowing for all colas to catch up in the grow race.

Super new to growing, doing research and watching videos or reading articles are a lot easier than the growing itself LOL. but i have been reading into autoflowers more due to my other grows, and this is the only photoperiod plant i have at the moment. do the last 2 photos look like it’s in preflower or are they new leaf growth? sprouted like that overnight and not sure what i’m looking at with this plant, was planning to change light schedule from 18-6 to 12-12 sometime this week. any help appreciated, TYIA.
Good job, your plant is loving life. Just new growth. Photos usually will reveal themselves anywhere from 4-8 weeks... but I've had a few strains where they've been stubborn and wait for the reveal until you start to dial down your light cycle. Female preflowers have a pistol (hair-like structure) that will pop out of the calyx, usually first sight is around the 3rd or 4th node up at the internode, but every plant may vary. IMHO... weaning to 12/12 works best. Some strains are super photo sensitive and sudden change can cause unnecessary stress at a crucial time. Plus the stretch seems to be more regulated, predictable & managable. With photos, be sure to grab one or more clones, because you may want to keep that profile, gift a few, etc. By the time your flowering cycle and harvest is over your clone should be well established & almost be ready to flower = back to back runs. not sure how long it stays in vegetative stage for being a feminized plant. still letting it grow and trying to move branches better. i only topped this plant once and that was a while ago, is it too late to top anywhere again or that should all be done when it’s smaller?

Do you mean a PK boost or do you mean flower nutrients with PK in it the flowering nutrients should be already going most “pk boost” 4th week of flower
it’s a PK booster called bud explosion but there’s early bloom directions and late flowering too, i’m not sure lol.
if that the case then give some now then wait 3-4 weeks

Most likely female. normally can tell by the third week, definitely wanna know by week 6 cause that’s when they’ll want to start pollinating.
yeah i’m hoping it shows something soon, only other plant i have is an auto northern light and that’s still small so hopefully no effect if ends up pollinating

mine was started but something yellowed the small round leaves and the first set of leaves so it just finally recovered so probably going to be a stunted smaller plant but we’ll see

I think it’s like a .01% chance that a feminized seed turns out male. you’re crossing two XX chromosome plants together therefore no Y is present to make a male.
i’ve read a lot that feminized seeds still have male chromosomes so under stress and other factors it can make the male features present and be hermaphroditic instead, i’ve had a few people tell me they’ve had males turn out from fem seeds just depends
got it set up in a different room from my autoflowers, have it finally set up right with the timer for the light on from 8am-8pm, hopefully will flower out, if not then oh well, my first photoperiod and may have stressed it too much but still have hopes high for some buds!
Deleted my northern light post so i could post this today, spotted some pistils finally ! guess moving it into the other room did the trick, timers been running right, did a 14 hour dark period for a few days to try to help it try to flower, that seemed to help, been back on 12/12 for a couple days now and just did a little look and found some pistils.
Had family over the past week and they were staying in where these guys were so i haven’t really looked at them. This northern light quadrupled in size, and my Aurora Borealis seem to be dying out, so might start a Blueberry Auto instead. Don’t have recent picture of my OG Kush, but pistils are finally showing almost everywhere, ready for some buds !
Pistils are everywhere now and some bud formation it looks like on the colas. should i defoliate any cause a lot of the stuff in the middle is small and overcrowded and being covered not getting much light? also looks like some of the tips of my plant are burning from light maybe? not so sure and not sure how to help them recover.

Very happy it’s coming along. glad i kept it and waited it out, and that’s just what i’ll do from now on. might get another pot started but can’t decide if i wanna start another photoperiod or autoflower.. i have a pineapple kush photoperiod, another OG kush, and then a blueberry auto any recommendations? the photos are from royal queen seeds and the blueberry auto is from pacific seed bank.
Is this one currently an auto? Regardless, unless you have a seperate space for different light schedules, I'd probably run the blueberry auto alongside this lady

this one is OG kush photoperiod ! i have two light setups in different rooms, this lady is by herself for 12/12 and then i have a Northern Light Auto and Aurora Borealis Auto together in a separate room with auto light schedule. so i can really do either or just looking for any strain suggestion out of what i have ! thank you !
I would go with the Blueberry auto. Variety in flavor from your current plants, AND the ease of just throwing it in the autoflower tent and not having to deal with planning out light schedule changes

small but many bud sites on the og kush, excited to see how it will look in 7-9 weeks. and the northern light i started some training last week no topping or pruning besides my dog had gotten in and started chewing a big fan leaf so i snipped that. trying different techniques out, any recommendations are welcome. i just decided to do som horizontal growth rather than vertical christmas tree like it did my firsts. i already stunted this auto as a seedling so im not expecting too much or a yield , but seems to be growing nice now.

i have no clue lol this was a promo seed but so far so good smells good! we’ll see how big the buds actually get but i have a weak set up and my plant did amazing.

i just got stuff laying around i’m using, no tent just my closet and some extra lights my dad had. seem to be doing okay for now with little to nothing haha
looking pretty frosty. can anyone judge on how much longer it will be growing the buds? all pistils are still white besides some i hm may have touched. it’s been flowering a few weeks now, data sheet for strain says 7-9 weeks flowering time, but i think this may go past that being that this is about 6 weeks into flower i think? idk we’ll see when the time comes just want it to bulk up before harvest time comes.
I would go 9 weeks maybe more there looking small for 6 weeks, that could be number of reasons. I always go two weeks longer then advertised it's just a general guideline. All that frosty goodness on your ladies is from the blurple light. Blurple lights seem to give great tricom production. I run one in my tent along side my big light.
wait till the trichromes are 90% cloudy & 10% amber . hard to tell in that picture. they still look clear & only use the breeders flowering time as a reference.
yeah i was thinking that, i went longer than the given time for my auto the time frame on that flowering was 5-6 weeks i’m pretty sure i let it go to 8 weeks, im thinking with this photo i’ll definitely be going to 9 weeks or later. thank you !
yeah some strains can go up to 13 to 14 weeks depending on the strain alot of sativa crosses ec can go that long. I grow autos I always pull between 8 and 12 weeks. I'm growing apple Betty's ATM I'll run them for 9 to 12 weeks there round week 3. Just keep a eye on those tricombs like old mate said. also if you don't have a jewelers loop use your phone camera and zoom right in have the bud very close to your lens. Hope the grow turns out good for you it's all a learning curve & we all make mistakes 🙏

i’ve only had premixed soil, and been giving tap water.. i just started giving pk booster from amazon called Bud Explosion for flowering phase (look it up to see what’s in it i can’t remember how much of each). i’m new to growing i don’t use any feeds or anything just the booster for flower. probably why i have smaller buds but im just starting out and getting hang of things while still getting equipment to grow. i’ve just used light panels from amazon as well two 75W sqaures with mix of red blue and white lights.
I use river water for watering and add banana peel with orange peels tea water one a week and full spectrum white lights she pretty much topped her self and grew 2 mains instead of one which was pretty cool humidity is between 65 and 70 and 75 f i just started using cronk nutrition cal mag 2.0.0 and bonnie fertilizer so im hoping for good buds
yeah this is my first photoperiod so i’m pretty happy with what i got even if they end up popcorn nugs, they got hella trichomes so even if i end up having to make edibles i’d be fine.
I dont know if mine is a auto flower or photoperiod its still to early to tell

yeah it’s not gonna be autoflower then just photoperiod. how far along are you to tell? usually sexing it you won’t know if it’s female until you flip the lights to 12/12. then it’ll either be traits of female with pistils or it’ll be a male with some balls (pollen sacks), you can’t really tell till that flip though for photos unless you take a clone and flip that early to see if it turns to flower so you can let your main plant keep vegging until you get the size you want then flip if it’s female. male just trash it especially if you’re just starting out.
so it won't be a auto flower she is already showing signs of female white pistals with white hairs coming out so that doesn't mean a female im lost all the pics I've taken and looked up it says its female I hope it is shit photoperiod is even better I'll get more off her if she female the seed is from a dispensary in town we use and they get there weed from there brother who grows it his self so I know the origin of the seed i just started using super soil coast of maine stonington blend organic all purpose growing mix hope it works good
yeah i said if it has pistils it is a female, you wont be getting any autoflowers from the disp is all. but it shouldn’t be flowering if you have the light on for 18/6, anything less than 12 hours will make it flower. so if its already getting pistils it’ll just have a preflower stretch you, you cant veg it out more to get a bigger plant like you said. all the height and growth you want should be done in the veg stage, so pistils puts you in preflower already. and you may also be confused bc there are hair like pieces that come off and almost remsemble pistils but that is new leaf growth. hard to tell without seeing pictures up close. but good luck hope she flowers nice for you. next time order from a trusted seed bank for some autoflowers. although photoperiod is the better route.

First three pictures are from the OG Kush, last three pictures are the Northern Light Auto. NL started with the trichomes a few days ago maybe almost a week now. OG buds are still on the smaller side, but there’s plenty of them so i’m happy with the results of my first photoperiod so far. I can still see it growing little by little so i’m letting it do its thing. I can see some of the hairs turning orange, but most are white. Smells amazing, i’ll open the door in the morning and just hits you with a skunky dank smell.

decided to stop in a store at the mall, it’s a resale store with random stuff from everywhere like amazon pallets and just bulk bs lol… i walked past a HUGE tent about the size of my bedroom and it was only 40$.. inside there were a few more tents put together one of them being this one. i paid 15.50$ for this!!! had all the fittings for duct work and what not, this is a 48x24x72. the others were gigantic and this is all i need for a few plants. they also had to the side boxes of duct work and carbon filters for $50, going to check that out and see if there’s anything just for circulation, don’t think i really need the carbon filter. but thought this was a freaking steal for only $15 !
Wow, That's a great find! I asked my wife to keep an eye out for a humidifier. She found one at a local thrift store for 20 bucks. When she went to pay, it was half off. It takes up a little more room in the tent than I'd like. But for the money, I'll make it work :-)
yeah i’m not really sure what i need for it but this will will do for now, i have all the little vents open for some circulation just no fan in there.. im probably going to have to get a little humidifier too come winter just because i have central air and heat so with the heat running constantly it’s dryer than a mf inside. but just getting things little by little, happy i found this for $15 rather than waiting a year to order a $200-$300 one !
Nothing wrong with putting things together one piece at a time, thats what we did.
good score!!!! definitely get a fan in there, even a cheap small tower fan to move air around inside the tent. a exhaust fan is helpful to help suck the heat out. small 4 inch will do. as for carbon filter, I don't use one. if you don't care about the smell, save the money. but be prepared for how much they do smell. like you'll smell it outside smell lol
yeah that’s what i thought the carbon filter was for so i don’t really need it, my whole house reeks with how much i smoke anyways lol. and as for a fan i gotta grab one, for right now im just keeping my door unzipped and clipped back with just my ceiling fan on, really wanted it to keep the light in cause as soon as the sun goes down you know whats going on in that room LOL, also my lights put off little to no heat so hopefully ill be fine.

First 4 pics are OG Kush, last 2 are Northern Light. Everything’s coming along, think it’ll be time to chop the NL soon. OG buds are starting to bulk nice now, still time left to mature, have little to no orange hairs on that one. Majority of the hairs on NL are orange and curling, any ideas how long left if can judge from the last 2 pics? I’m pretty sure it’s not much longer since my fan leaves are losing color and some starting to die off. As for the OG, I’m pretty sure i’ve got a little bit of a ways to go being it’s just not maturing yet. Let me know what you think ! Thanks in advance !
i always let my trichomes turn alittle amber about 30% amber 70% milky white and that should b about where u want to b looking good

and taking pics of the actual buds not the leafs cuz the ones on leafs mature faster

I'm on my first grow and it's a photo. I screwed so much up, but it just kept coming back. I'm a little worried about the auto that I am doing next. I stress about stressing the plant. 😂 Yours looks like it's bulking up nice 👍
it definitely is now.. i’ve tried two autos and whatever i do wrong and i don’t know what it is makes it stunted so i’ve only gotten popcorn nugs and barely any of it. i think the photos are better to work with to get the right size plant you want before you flip to flower. so i’m using them until i can get everything down and everything i need for autos to mess with them again lol. yield wasn’t great for either of mine so just not worth it if i can have an photo growing better in my opinion. but if you got the green thumb and can work with autos do it ! i’ve also noticed with the two autos i had two different strains and my brother in law has a couple different ones too but they seem to all smell the same. unlike my photo being skunky. good luck on yours !
Do you know if you can top an auto? I keep hearing conflicting stories from people. Everytime that I think that I understand, someone says something different
yeah i had conflicting stories too so i decided to test for myself. i did two quick ones which were a dwarf strain anyways, i topped one and left the other. the topped created two nice colas and had no negative effects. the non topped grew as normal and had the same size main cola as the other topped. it’s trial and error. if you get quite a few seeds when you order i would try growing however many you want but at least 2 and have one topped vs non topped and see what you think of the outcome.
BUT you have to do it early before you get any pistils. it’s typical for them to show up on an autoflower within 3-5 weeks of life. so if you’re just growing for fun like i am and not counting on having the best buds or yields i would mess around with a bunch of different ways and techniques.

no it shouldn’t kill it mine survived nicely i would’ve topped it twice if i had enough time but pistils came in fast being a quick one auto. but if you’ve got plenty of seeds try stuff out !

autos are so temperamental and allow for 0 mistakes. I don’t understand why they push autos towards new growers so much. the buds and terps aren’t typically as good as photos either. looking good! nice trichome coverage
Getting there, gonna let it go a couple more weeks and keep checking in in the meantime. still mostly all white pistils and lots of maturing left. lmk if you have any tips or tricks for nearing harvest/ post harvest! i’d love some help, or if you have any comments or feedback on my plant specifically i’m all ears !
I like to harvest when I have <5% clear and just less than 10% amber. this is because the trichomes and flavonoids still mature while it is drying. this is peak THC production harvesting. the veggie/hay taste comes with over ripening. you may trade a smidge of yield, but IMO the quality is better. good luck!!
are you able to tell where i’m at with my pictures? i know quality isn’t very good most of them are cloudy the only amber ones are on the leaves maturing faster. have you ever harvested with the pistils still white?
I'd say about 50/50 for clear and milky tops, I would check in a week, then maybe every couple days after that. you probably have like 2 weeks, maybe 2 and a half
and not really with white pistols. when this change it can be justba few days, up to a week. if you don't have a pocket microscope I would suggest it.
yeah i don’t have one, just using my phone with a microscope app. that’s what i thought it was looking like it’s getting close. i want a high feel and as much thc as i can get, i think your ratio sounds best.

is this normal? getting close to the end, should have about two weeks left give or take. some leaves started yellowing, i haven’t given feed or anything just water so i could be lacking in some nutrients.
yes very normal for leaves to turn they can turn all different colors, yellow purple, depending on the temperature on the final stage of budding sort of like the change in the season.When the leaves turn in fall

can’t wait for this to be done ! last pic is trichs from a leaf coming off the buds just trying to practice getting trichomes shots and that one actually was pretty good lol. the other close up is directly in the bud. a lot happier with the results of this even though it’s taking forever lol, much better yield than the autos i did, easier to work with. will be doing autos in the future but for now it’ll be photos. next up will be pineapple kush, another og maybe, and i have hella seeds from a dispensary oz i got, even with all the seeds the buzz i got from that was great, so gonna start one of them too, Hellcat Fuel. should i do more than one of them since they are just bag seeds not feminized? I gave my dad a bag seed of Dos Scoops and the one turned out to be female and is flowering now.

yeah i’m holding out till the time is right! basing my guess on the amount they’ve been changing trichs. not trying to rush this one want it the best it can be ! seems like it’s just now swelling up where the pistils are attached. i’ve had this plant going forever now haha, that’s why i don’t trust the 7-9 weeks flower from the data sheet, well past that now.
For photos they normally go 10-14 weeks in flower depending on strain.
Let’s hope they’re all females ! These are bag seeds I’ve had for a bit, put in paper towels yesterday and all three popped today. they came from dispensary bag so hopefully can grow good. I'm on my first grow from a bag seed. It's going pretty well, and I at least know what the final product is supposed to be like. I didn't like waiting to find out if it was a male or female, but it worked out.
yeah i had started a bag seed a couple weeks ago i think it was called Dos Scoops, it was probably a week old and i brought it over to my dads for room purposes and hes kept it outside and turned out to be a girl and she’s got a couple nice nugs on her. if i did it earlier around spring time im sure it would’ve vegged out nice but i just threw it in a baggy not even really expecting it to pop lol. thats why i did three of these though so i can try to be lucky and have at least one female and if im real lucky them all haha.
just keep an eye out for any herms with bag seed .

I had thrown a bag seed in pot for hell of it for outdoor grow & had to kill it off . had pollen sacs . bag seed never stable so just keep an eye on it so u dont ruin the rest of the plants. never hurts to try & see what happens. that’s how cookies genetics started
yeah i’m just about done my og kush so won’t hurt anything if anything happens. i mean no different than buying regular seeds with the same waiting game for male or female. lol had everyone tell me my og kush was a male on here, kept it and it’s 100% female, i love feedback, however, most of this i’m doing trial and error anyways. could use some males for some pollen, wanted to get into crossing strains so we will see !
I've been thinking about breeding strains down the line. From what I read, you can take a female and spray a bud site with colloidal silver and it will change sex and produce pollen sacs. Then if you pollinate another female with that pollen, you get femenized seeds to grow because they only have the female genetics. I'll try it at some point, or I am sure that someone on here has tried it. I hope that they are all female for you though! 👍
take clones & after it roots flip it to flower & u see if it male or female

2 of the 3 broke ground, that last one i can see the shell just sitting at the top of the soil. it was the smaller taproot and it seemed like this one dried up compared to the other two with the soil. still looks viable so gonna try to push it through, if not i’ll just have the two. wish me luck !
Give them a little humidity dome to help them along. Helps them shed the seed casing as well. You're off to a good start 💪

I'm growing kings juice from Greenhouse Seed Co and I'm loving how it's going so far. The collie man kush has turned into a fun learning experience, and that was from Humboldt Seed Co. Surprisingly, I've grown some solid plants from zamnesia as well. A lot of people say they're shit because they're white label, but I've never had an issue. Sweet Sweeds, Fast Buds and Sensi have all been solid for me as well. I got a herm on my first Barneys grow, so I'm wary of them.
Looking good, not sure if the colors of the strain are starting to show or if the leaves are showing me a nutrient problem. gonna just let it do its thing. by the looks of it it still has more time, any guess how long? things seem to be swelling up this past week, still have some live hairs, and the trichomes seem to be a solid mix of cloudy and clear still. we’ll see.

can take up to 90 days this isnt very accurate way to check .u need a jewlers loupe only 10 to 15$ Amazon. if u don't it's just guessing u want 10 to 20% amber no clear ones .just can't tell from this
some can take 100 days mine did .mine were mostly sativa dominant. what u using for nutes? chititin fertilizer good for bloom . no nitrogen at this point earth worm casting teas good at this point .
i’m just an amateur grower, my first official grow. i used a seeding soil at first mixed with garden bed soil that contained low amounts of everything, i’ve given a bud booster called Bud Explosion from amazon but i haven’t given that in like 2 or 3 weeks bc of what i thought would be getting close to harvest, next grow i need to get the right nutes and better equipment. i just got a tent like a month ago, have had this going since march, on day 200 from germination. wanted it to be done with by now lol but dont want to rush it either so im just letting it do whatever
organic the way to go some of them can be used until the end.not sure about that nute .down to earth has good ones I'm running royal gold crown jewels all purpose.its a top dress or pre amended nute seems to be working good love the stuff in it .going to have to get a bloom without nitrogen. but yea order a jewlers loupe there cheap hand held on Amazon

still not to bad i average around an ounce per plant right now my self. I do 1 topping of the main cola then LST until pre-flower
i had done one topping but it was kind of late, didn’t stretch quite the way i wanted or bulk up but hey i’m just learning
these are my first official grows, need help knowing when and how to correctly flip it to flower, i have two other plants that are autos and have already started flowering. i’m not sure what to do with this guy though, any help appreciated
Nets work,but don't get the woven kind! It leaves strands all over your sticky flowers! As far as flipping, remember 50% stretch. I have never tried autos at 12-12, I suspect it will greatly reduce harvest but will work. Look into supersoil for easier gardening. Made my life much easier.
yeah i don’t have my autos at 12 12 they are at 24, i started this at 18-6 bc its a photoperiod and waiting to switch to 12 12 only for this plant
I just had 2 autos someone didn’t want & I had my photos already in flower & the autos in 12/12 light schedule didn’t do as well as 18/6 or 20/4 . but it does work if that what u have to work with . it be ok
i’ve been keeping my autos on 18-6 cause didn’t seem much of a difference in growth with 24 for the autos. but i just started the other day taking this og kush photoperiod out from the light into another dark room from 8pm and i put it back in at 8am. looked like it was already wanting to preflower after keeping at 18-6, decided to flip the other day to 12-12 for space purposes bc of the others i have. not going to be looking at a big plant but hopefully some decent buds.
I agree autos do just as good on 18/6 schedule. some like 20/4 . a buddy of mine did comparison tests & he seen no difference. the plant that u have pre flowering is it in a smaller container? that also can cause pre flowering.
i’m not sure the actual size but it’s a pretty decent size but maybe not big enough for the photoperiod plant, my two quick on autoflowers are in smaller pots and are just about the same height maybe an inch taller. still figuring things out. going to stick with photos after these are done but maybe having one auto going while i have photos going, i can’t recall who made the comment but made sense about starting off with photos because there’s room for mistakes. i have a pineapple kush feminized seed and a watermelon og feminized seed, any suggestions on which one to start up after i’m done these quick ones? they are both from royal queen seeds
yes photos are more forgiving. if u make mistakes u can keep it in veg longer . if u controlling the light schedule. outside u on Mother Nature time . autos are good if u have some experience u can do perpetual harvest start off with couple plants & start one every 25 days & u don’t ever need to change light schedule. if u have photo & in 12/12 not great for autos. I just did that with autos given to me & notice difference in 12/12 lighting
yeah right now i am just taking the photo one out of closet and in the dark in separate room from 8pm-8am, trying to separate so i can still have my lights on my two autos for 18-6 while that one is 12-12. a little bit of a pain but not much to move the one back and forth. i do need to invest in some better lights though i dont think the ones i have are doing enough.
best to do research. the lights are the biggest investment. u doing good with what u working with . autos better in the 18/6 I just put it in my tent while it was in 12/12 . they were free & wanted to see how it would do .
