Grow Timeline (33 updates)

put in paper towel on the 19th. 3-4 days but the root grew into paper towel a little. I cut as much as i could without gettin near root. Big hole to put it in. pretty sure i didnt bend or break.

She serms happy. Need to mess with the automation. Lastnight it never got below 75 (74.1) so the heater never kicked on. vents didnt turn on for sane reason.air was basically stagnant all night not cold or hot.

I think im ready to start nutrients.
looking good. you only need one sensor. keep the humidifier one as a backup
I have 2 controllers setup. One to send data to HA. AI controller to run tent, 69 controller to save data.

Not much growth since last post, 4 days ago. I think I'm gonna add nutrients next time I water.
you're in soil correct? id be careful w any nutes yet. your soil should have nutes in it as is, and your plant barely has any roots to uptake any.
Thanks
looking good brother. I am right behind you.
π
You were right of course. π€£π€£

Overall, seems ok. Bit slow to me. Kinda like watchin grass grow. π₯ π€£
Watering around the inside edges of the pots and not on the plant. Makes the roots stretch for the water. That makes the roots stronger and they absorb nutes much more. Good luck on the awesome grow! π±π³
Exactly,. Thanks. Thats why I watered so much. I've never used fabric pot before, and iI know we want her roots deep. ππ
Very Welcome. She looks great. Many good vibes for your grow!
fabric pots are awesome for such feats... wicking will effectively have the same effect. Get yourself some wicking bases and it's worry free. Just remember to top feed when called for "x" line of nutes. Make sure you evenly saturate to prevent buildup of salts/etc. And flush every 3 weeks or so with distilled.
Thanks. I have them. I filled them at the beginning, now they're empty. I'll have to do some google.

Starting vegetative mode. She looks good. 19 days in She'sready. I'm thinkin she's about to start some big growth. fingers crossed π€

Thats the 4th node. Soon I need to decide. HST or just LST. Its goin kinda slow, probably enough time, and she seems strong enough. What say you? Just bend em over, or top the 5th node and bend?
Both!!! lol Break that apical dominance, then lst after that.
I'm in! π Give her a day or two, then snip.

@Glitch There ya go! Topped her today. Hopefully she recovers quickly. No stress for her lets hope. Me, well, cutting the top off a healthy plant is very stressful. ππ

She looked fine so I went ahead and knocked everything off below the top.
It looks ok to me, but not right somehow. Did I mess it up super bad?
I'm guessing that's what I did, so my plant will still be straight right? I topped it at 6th node and trimmed the rest of veg below that , after I was like shit and thought I made a huge mistake, but your Pic looks similar so thank you, I feel relief.

I think she is doing just fine.
look at those shoot tips growing!!π

More bending without breaking. I'm happy with it.
looking like a work of art. I look forward to your updates. appreciate your help so far.
TY sir. I yours as well
That looks great ! I'm going to be trying that soon and will be watching your grow to hopefully learn from you (just started my first grow at age 60π)

Runoff is high ppm 1500 and low ph 5.8 but she seems to be thriving! Next water will be plain water or maybe water with a bit of flush mixed in. I think my problem is I was leaving runoff in the drip tray, and it all got wicked up. This may explain why its so long between watering. I dunno. Im still new. π
Any comments are greatly appreciated.
that could definitely explain it. they do make risers for drip trays. kind of like a little elevated grate the pot sits on inside the drip tray. if you bottom water(auto pots for example), you push the salts up to the top of the soil where no roots are. if you consistently bottom water you don't want to top water bc you'll just push all those salts back down. when we water to runoff we flush the salts down and hopefully out, if you then bottom water after you essentially push the salts back in. I think she'll be alright. good catch!!!!
anyone can grow stuff. troubleshooting a grow is the next step and you're doing that!! you're not a new grower anymore!!!!!ππ you don't give yourself enough credit. seriously, good job.
thank you my friend. made me smile a litte. ππ»yeah, i setup the auto watering trays because im out of town at the last minute frequently. I wanted to be able to set it and forget it for a day or 5 if necessary. I took the wicks out. She will now drain properly. Ill continue top watering. Just gotta get the ppm down and ph up.
also can explain why it is so high. salts maybe concentrating at bottom. probably why your plant isnβt to affected. If flushing, do around plant so she doesnβt get too soggy. just my thoughts π If she was mine, what would I do. π
oh... Never considered that... I especially like that. esplains the vigorous growth. probably wishful thinking, and im still lst so its hard to tell, but seems like she grows an inch a day. Just water next time. once she shows downward trend ill put back on super light nutrients thanks

Might have slowed down a little. Still looks good.
Have u attempted super cropping before? if so how long did it take to bounce back?
No I haven't. First timer here. Well, thats not exactly true. I did it on my last one, but she had a rough life. Got knocked over. I used miracle grow soil. No nutrients. Water ph was never below 7. Real rough, so im not counting that grow.
fair enough. my very first plant I grew a couple yrs ago turned out to be male and I refused to believe thatβs what had happened. thing to remember itβs our failures that give us the best wisdom. so u got this man

She is dry today. Flush w/5ml gal. Sledge Hammer. Came right back to pretty good. π 599ppm, 6.3ph, 1.2ec. Little higher ph, ppm and ill be happy.
Tucked and trimmed a couple leaves that were blocking nodes.
Bad news is, I think she startin to flower. Dang me! I wanted more veg time. π Probably use photo seeds from here on out.

Didnt take entire gallon, watering outside canopy, π before runoff. 6.1ph 635ppm ph in was 6.8, out 6.1. Hopefully next watering that comes up a bit.
Not horrible though... I think? I'm not sad..
She sure seems to be moving right along..
How you like that AI, and I'm curious to how accurate/sensitive the light meter is? Does it map the light spectrum as well? LOL I got questions.
I got answers.. I love all of the controllers the same. Awesome! but... the ai controller is just for turning it on.. after that.. for me anyway, you will delete ai and tune it manually.. aside from extra sensor and 8 ports, its the same as any other they sell. But you asked about the light meter. I am new, but I dont see it as useful. It reads in percentage, always at 100% everytime I've looked at it, except when something blocks it, like my arm or a tent flap. Lame.. dont waste your $$$. The CO2 would be useful, but I tabled that variable for now.
Thank You! Sounds like I'm sticking with the 69pro+
Good numbers, but those bottom leaves are definitely going yellow. I upped the nutrients.
She seemed to haved slowed down growth a bit.
She will get better or worse! π€ π
Next run try 2ml of each per gal. 35 ml is high for 1 gal π
thank you.
Just a few pics. Not doing great, but I haven't killed her yet! We shall see.
by the pic looks like she could use some nitrogen
Thanks. She drying out after a good flush. Almost time to put some nutrients back in
my Lil girl is just recovering from deficiency...missed a feeding . leaves look like a skunks tail lol
next feeding she'll be good as new. they are hardier than they look. don't get me wrong, you can get them pretty gnarly looking, but it takes a bit to kill them

looking good do far, I'm about to start a new grow.
