Grow Timeline (12 updates)
So I bought one of these 3n1 readers, found out my light was reading 1500 parr and I noticed the tips and edges of my plants are black (not brown or yellow). So I believe ive been giving too much light? My last grow turned out really good and I had the light all the way up. Im going to give a few days at about 600-800 and see if that helps? Any help is great!
donβt use a 3in1 soil meter to measure light . not even close to accurate. use the Photone app . I wouldnβt trust that meter for my PH readings . if they worked , we wouldnβt be spending a lot of money on PAR meters or APPβs . check & make sure u not having any potassium or phosphorus deficiencies.
I was told not to use the meter as well. And from personal experience, buying on myself, the light meter is definitely not accurate and mine always said the soil was moist even thought it was bone dry. As for the switching your light intensity, good call. I had the same issue, not quite the same with the color but light intensity can be key. You are in Veg right now so in between 600-800 ppfd is right where you want it. And remember when you change light intensity back up you need to do it slowly and gradually. I'm talking 1-2% a day until you hit 100%
Have to agree with Bee and Nuggs, those are trash. I got a PPFD meter from Spider Farmer, 3 in 1 meter wasn't even close, read almost 3 times higher. you can get a PPFD meter app for your phone for free.
I got the one on my phone cannabee told me to download!!
Most accurate way of measurement is going to be a DLI meter. I love mine so much I bought 3 and mounted them... it has a 28 day log, tells me what and how much color bands I'm getting at each "level" of brightness.
I never trusted my 3 in 1 except to see if deep in soil was wet or moist/dry, very general ph range of soil after a feed/watering (don't trust it if your not calibrating), and to see spots in my canopy that are too shaded. Lights I just went with the manufacturer recommended distance and power haven't had an issue. Once you notice signs of light stress you can just raise the light a bit. Debacco university on YouTube has a video Going over cannabis signs of stress and deficiency that I think every new grower should watch. Par meters and all the tech is great but sometimes you gotta learn to keep things simple when starting off, good potting mix/soil, good base nutrients ( 2 part veg and bloom with primary, secondary, and micro nutrients keeps it real simple), good soil microbes, great genetics, and simple repeatable SOPs are all you need to make some killer product. Master that and then expanding your horizons becomes easy.
I quickly set the 3 in 1 aside lol
Getting better i think but im still very disappointed.
what have you been doing to return them back to health? I see they are hungry and also wants more phosphorus
Hang in there... the good thing about disappointment is there's nothing but headroom for growth. There's much to learn. If you got questions, I may have answers.
I needed help weeks ago lol But yes let's connect please π
Feel free to DM me.
I think i figured out a good mix of food and brought these girls back from the dead! (Auto's are small i know) but the three photos are my main focus right now.
plants look over all pretty healthy!!! keep it up ππ½
thank you!
hey how are you doing
hey how are you doing
yea they look good could maybe use a little leaf here and there needs to be cut if u know what I mean so it can breath a little better. but I'm not growing them they look healthy as far as I can see
Im trying not to stress them out, they are looking way better than a few weeks ago, I thought I was going to lose them lol
cutting a few leaves won't stress it out .better than mold .u don't have to do it now but in the near future I would if I were u. just a suggestion doesn't mean u have to.u might get more bud sights if u trim a few leaves
they are beautiful, lookin great
Ive been slacking because alot of the new growth is small but plentiful so its hard to trim but im catching up!
Couple more days for the autos and then ill take the ac out and make room for the photos to stretch out! Please be honest and tell me how im REALLY doing!
your little corner of the world
?
it's your man grow cave.
oh! yes it is lol I love it but kids are really nosey haha
I explained it to my kids. not from the stance of a drug but more responsibility as they get older I explain in more detail and then relate it to alcohol.
what's wrong with the setup? you got dirt, plants, that's all you really need!! you're good, you got this
