Grow Timeline (17 updates)
Transplanted Power Plant and Amnesia Haze from coco coir plugs into biodegradable coco pots filled with seedling compost. Both plants had roots showing through the bottom of their coco plugs confirming perfect transplant timing. Amnesia Haze is slightly smaller but showed the most aggressive root development. Power Plant is taller with slightly less root activity.
Plants are currently sitting by the window in the larger propagator with the lid off during the day to maximise airlight exposure. Lid going on tonight to maintain warmth and humidity overnight post transplant.
Also started germination on Runtz Auto Feminized today using the damp paper towel method. Seed placed in sealed bag in a warm dark location. First check scheduled for tomorrow evening.

Thanks for asking! Yeah they'll eventually move into my winter garden once it's warm enough. It gets natural light pretty much from morning till dusk so hopefully they'll love it in there. Still figuring everything out as I go since this is my first grow ever, so any tips are welcome!
Looks good so far. My concern was the biodegradable pots. I too used those on my first grow. Roots take longer to grow through those pots. That was the reason I asked if it was outside and since it is you should be good ππΏ
Good point! The material feels pretty firm so I'm gonna poke some holes in the pots tomorrow just to make sure the roots can get through.
Big day of problem solving today! After realising my biodegradable pots were way too thick and firm for the roots to break through on their own, I took a razor blade and removed the outer layer of material from the bottom third of each pot and cut some holes around the base rim. The material honestly felt like moving box cardboard β no root was ever getting through that unaided! While doing this I also discovered trapped moisture sitting at the bottom of the pots which could have caused root rot down the line, so really glad I caught that early. The pots are now elevated to allow airflow underneath so everything can dry out properly. First time grower learning something new every single day.
Runtz is still growing laterally rather than upright which has been a challenge since she went into soil with a long taproot at an angle. She has however pushed through the soil surface today and her cotyledons are beginning to emerge, so she is very much alive and fighting. Hoping to see her correct herself over the next couple of days.
Moved Amnesia Haze and Power Plant into their next homes today. The biodegradable pots had done their job but it was time to give the roots more space to explore. Switched to potting soil this time around which has a much richer, darker composition than the seedling soil I was using before β really happy with how it looks and feels.
Amnesia Haze had a brief moment of drought stress earlier this week which reminded me she's drinking much more water now than she was just a few days ago. Good lesson learned. Fast growing plants need you to keep up with them! She recovered quickly and is back to reaching toward the sun today.
Both girls are settling into their new pots nicely. Excited to see how they develop from here with more root space available. Runtz is also coming along in her smaller pot and will be transplanted when she's ready.
cotyledons are yellowing and dropping off which means both girls have fully switched over to living on their own. At the same time the third set of true leaves is coming in with three leaflets each.
Amnesia Haze is really showing off right now β she's both taller and getting bushier at the same time which apparently isn't that common. Really curious to see how big she gets through the summer.
Power Plant is a little behind on her second set of three leaflet leaves but she's steady and healthy. I get the feeling she's the type to take her time and then surprise everyone later.
Runtz is still doing her thing in her smaller pot, the little survivor that she is.
The lower leaves on Power Plant are showing a pale, washed out light green/yellow color compared to the upper leaves. The lower leaves also look slightly limp and lacking the firm, upward reaching posture. The upper growth still looks healthy.
I hope they are doing better now
The old lower leaves finally dropped off on their own today and fresh new shoots are already growing from the same spots β the girls are basically doing their own pruning at this point! Upper canopy is looking healthy and full, really happy with how they're developing. Rough few weeks with the cold and cloudy weather but the sun is back and so are they.

Does that mean it's the beginning of the flowering stage? Amnesia Haze is an auto. Power Plant is a photo. So I'm surprised they both grow hair at this point.
The first picture is most definitely pre-flower. I got some Bruce Banner seeds last year. Five of the 6, were autos, the 6th seed ended up being a photo period. I had to buy a 2x2 just to finish off the one plant.
air flow damage. Will the buds still be okay? π
They look like they will alright as long as no mold. Stop all nitrogen an start giving dry backs. How long has she been in flower?
If you have any questions jus message. But next run when you germinate message me I will help you thru it
