Grow Timeline (11 updates)
All my friends are broke and too lazy for hobbies other then video games. Can I barrow some friends with cool stuff to sell 😂 j/k it really is a cool set up was it hard to set up that watering system
Not really, my friend had it setup and instead of taking it all apart and reassebling it, we just hauled out as one piece with the tent collapsed.
Indoor growing is all about getting the environment dial so use this 1st to figure out a water and feed schedule, light schedule, ph dialed in humidity with a great range all that stuff and and try new stuff. You got a few plants try something different with one of them. Go all mad scientist on it lol have fun your growing something very cool 😎
Happy and growing!
They do look happy. Why so close with the light? You get better coverage up higher. Better air flow between the light and the canopy. And you don have to move them up every 3 days.
Honestly, I am just making guesses on light distance. This is my first time growing, how high should the lights be above the plants? I have looked it up and get various answers.
Ok... Get yourself a basic light meter. A lot of people download one that works. Playstore or the app store has it. I think it's phototone, or something. Or you can get a better one from Amazon for about $60. If you are just going by distance then you're guessing. at their current age you want about 350, 400, ppfd. I'dove.them up about 12" -14" and put the dimmer on the 2nd or 3rd setting. Until you can see what your ppfd is. Just watch your plants. They look ok now. If they start to get pale, and the leaves fold in or taco, then raise it more. As they get older you will be glad you have th meter. The light requirements change as they mature. LEDs can fool you. what looks ok to you, may be too much, or too little. if you see stretching. you need more, pale color or burning tips. a lot less. it's just best in this endeavor to know what is happening. that goes for the light, the nutrients, the pH, etc. if you know what the plants are experiencing then you can fix anything
It looks like you got a good light and I know my brother used one of the download type on your phone for a grow or 2 until he could get one like dirty is talking about.
I did move the lights up. I am currently looking at options for a light meter. I thought about the app but after looking at it, I figured I would be better off with a meter. I do appreciate the feed back and suggestions.
Appreciate the info and feedback back. I bought the whole setup off my friend for $400. It's a fallponics setup.
That’s a good deal, but I know what your saying I’ve trying to get me a new tent and I’m going to have to start off with just the light tent and vent the rest I’ll rig something up or go super cheap until I can get something better
Yeh .. god choice. It'll help though. If you can buy one, it's the smart move. I bought one that used my phone and a sensor. It's good that you can set it in different places of your tent and it'll tell you the best spots, it it's weird if you want to get the canopy readings. You have to hold the phone, and the sensor. But it was only $60 and I not use the DLI feature. Got it on amazon.. of course.
They're stretching. I would move the light closer to prevent that
They are in a Vivosun starter tray and the light is fixed. I have them under 24h light right now, but this is my first official grow so kinda learning as I go.
