Grow Timeline (21 updates)
Getting my next batch started. One of the GC6xEG3 seeds was partially split. I planted anyways cuz you never know. Cleaned out clone dome with soapy water. Planted seeds directly into root riot plugs. filled tray with water to soak plugs and then drained out. set dome on the heat mat at low setting.
10 of the 12 seedlings have sprouted. 1 of each of the ethos seeds didn’t sprout yet. I turned the lights on 5 and set to 18/6 and opened up all the vents. watered when tray was dry.
Gotta love fast sprouting seedlings 🔥
I've seen quite a few YouTube growers using ethos seeds these days
they’re not bad. I like their Quattro Kush. I don’t think I’ve ever had 100% germination rate with them though.
for sure 💪 I’m excited about the Baja Blast. they are the only reason I’m doing a mixed freebie run haha. I plan on probably making a mother out of the best one. I haven’t tried it but the description is “lemon lime Dew flavor- Exceptional Candied taste”
I haven't germed anything myself... yet. But when I do I'm going to make sure I have little plastic domes for them
clone dome and root riot plugs are the easiest way to go for germination. I don’t do the paper towel method or soak them in water first. easy peasy every time.
ill look into these ty!
Transplanted into 4” pots and watered in with recharge. I have them in a closet under a 100 watt LED light until I harvest my 5x5.
9/12 seeds have popped and ready for transplant. 2 of the ethos end game are way behind and are trying to come out. the ethos EGxGC was a dead seed from the beginning and not much hope it will pop. I will go forward with these 9 plants for my next run.
3 Dirty Bird Mamacita
2 Mosca Baja Blast
1 Ethos End Game #3
3 Ethos End Game #3 x Grandpas Cookies #6
I've heard recharge and grow dots are 🔥
my current grow that’s about to finish is my first run with grow dots and recharge and I’m loving it. 12 plants in 3 gallon pots. this run is going to be 9 plants in 5 gallon pots and see how that goes.
I just had a ethos grandpa's cookies not pop. I have a few seeds from the admin here soaking now..well see... i love ethos genetics, i just ordered some mandarin, cookies and big detroit Energy
idk if I have ever had 100% germination with Ethos. they have some good strains but not one of my go to breeders. out of these 7, 1 didn’t pop and 2 are barely coming out of shell today, still no cotyledons showing. it’s too inconsistent for someone trying to grow on a schedule.
the seedlings are doing well. I need to set up my humidifier in the closet and possibly set up a heat mat beneath the tray. the 2 End Game seedlings have finally emerged and are showing their cotyledons. the final seed is a dud. I’ll probably end up planting those two seedlings outside somewhere
watered the main 9 with a light mix of CloneX @5ml a gallon. transplanted the two late girls into 4” pots and watered in with recharge. got my fan and humidifier set up in the closet and have a few plants staked until they can build up stem strength.
watered all the plants with CloneX water @5ml/g
Looking like full steam ahead 🚂☁️☁️☁️
they are doing well. I’m going to experiment on how well used growdots coco does with a new batch of grow dots in it. I assume it should do just fine
Maybe flush the medium and see what ecc readings your getting as I would think the grow dots may have some nutrients still in there but besides that as long as your making sure the coco is still buffered I would assume it would be fine right?
that’s a good idea. I have some florakleen I could soak/wash it with and then rebuffer afterwards. I can test the EC before and after
finally got around to transplanting these girls. Transplanted into the coco coir and 3 gallon pots from my last run. 45 grams of grow dots per plant and I watered in with recharge. VPD set at 1.0, lights at 80% power 12” from plants.
Theres a huge difference in vigor between the strain. the EG3xGC6 has the best growth rate, followed closely by Mamacita. EG3 and Baja Blast are about the same.
I overwatered these plants when I transplanted them. I’ve kept the humidity low and today I put the box fan I had in the drying tent blowing directly over the plants to speed up the drying. the plants were looking better today than they were.
Also I added 2 new plants to the grow. my friend hooked my up with a couple of clones from Colorado. New York City Diesel and Mac & Cheez. I will put the NYCD in the open spot in my tent and the M&C will stay in the closet once my plants dry out enough I can remove the fan.
🌬️🍃
i gave these girls a real nice tranplant shock when I overwatered them. I believe we are on the other side now. I gave the 11 original a light watering at the base of ph 6.0 water and recharge. I gave the 2 new clones a light watering of 10ml/gallon of CloneX and recharge to correct their defiency. I removed the box fan, sealed up the tent and set my VPD to 1.0 I increased the lights to 7. I may drop the VPD down to .9 depending on how they act.
idk what the fuck I did to stunt these plants so bad. I would say that it was the soil still had too many nutes from the last grow, but the clones did pretty good when transplanted. it’s possible I overwatered and stunted them. i have watered them small amount over the last 3 days directly over their root base and they have been dry before watering so they are finally on the up and up. they have grown over the last week but still have that funky curl on some leaves, but not all.
the clones are doing really well on the other hand. they have both recovered from their deficiencies and the NYC diesel has been growing really well. the Mac and cheese is less vigorous but healthy. I think I will be cloning the NYC diesel and doing a run of them.
I’m not going to top any of the other plants since they are been stunted. I have something like 2 weeks left of veg before I have to flip them to flower. they will probably get moved into the other tent for flower and going to get some diesel started in this one.
To me it looks like you said about reusing the soil. What can happen when using salt based fertilizer is the plant takes the nutrients and leaves the salt. Too much salt can cause nutrient deficiencies due to nutrient lockout. Flushing the soil very well with water can remove the salt and give you a fresh start (so to speak). May need to adjust feeding tho as new potting soil often has more bioavailable organic matter to feed the microorganisms which have a vital partnership with our plants. I look forward to following your progress my friend. (P.S. Im new and just sharing things other people have said. I'm no expert. Not yet anyways 😁)
to me Smokie it appears to have a iron deficiency caused by more than likely too much phosphorus left over. soil ph can also cause. when clones are young they like lots of phosphorus for their roots. now they are in veg phosphorus need falls off.
I knew I should have soaked with florakleen then rinsed it and rebuffered it but I didn’t. I was in a hurry to get these transplanted and now I’m paying for it. I’m no expert either lol. I’ve grown for a few years and still have a lot to learn.
that makes sense. I may try to pick something up this weekend from a grow store when I go to the city
I honestly never heard of FloraKleen but I looked it up and it sounds like a really cool product in theory atleast. May have to give it a try if I decide to recycle my grow medium. Im about due for a flush as im a few weeks away from harvest. Looking into RO systems for cleaner water production. Anyways sorry for the rant lol. I appreciate the info and look forward to your progress. May God bless you and the ones you love 🙏.
I used to use the general hydroponic flora series to grow cocoponics until last year when I moved into a house with really hard water so I’ve been trying different methods. I want to get an RO system as well. I bought a gallon of florakleen and it only takes like 8ml per gallon for full strength so it’s lasted me a long time. I’m sure there are others that work well too. it works on coco coir, but if you aren’t using salt based nutrients and are going with a living soil type medium then flushing isn’t necessary. you can just refresh your medium with microbes and nutrients. no need to be sorry for the rant, I do it too haha. God bless you and yours too and thanks!
Could be nutrient build up man and the medium it's ok tho I did the same thing this run and reused my medium. I had different issues but similar. Nothing worse than shit going south. You got time tho they will bounce back. I bought this stuff that's organic it's like a sweetener I used that to balance my ph back down it's a Australian brand called ozi magic sweetener you can get it of eBay for 28bucks. I have used the whole line up for years. I'm running general hydroponics this run tho but I'm switching back.
Water in some florakleen to help remove some of the extra salts in the soil left by the old grow dots?
ive been slacking on posting but these girls have been drinking up and looking healthy. I got my humidifier set back up and got my VPD set at 1
The new growth looking much healthier now. Good stuff 👍
They look hungry
I stunted them somehow with the tranplant and it’s been a long road back. the new growth is good.
thanks! they should still produce a nice little harvest. I wasn’t wanting to top these plants anyways and just let them grow natural.
watered with regular water. they are all looking better and growing except for the runt. it’s doing its runt thing. the NYCD clone is looking good. the flowering clones have been looking a little pail so I have watered with 5ml/ CloneX and they seem to be doing better. I have another outdoor fruity pebbles that smells like sprite so I think I’m going to clone her this weekend as well
Sprite scented fruity pebbles🤤
looks really green happy growing!!!
I hope it turns out how it smells lol
thanks!
Starting 12/12 light schedule today. watered with recharge and did some light defoliation. after stretch I will probably put the short plants on totes to even the canopy up some.
Healthy looking sea of green they bounced back well and look ready to explode!
yes they look much better now! I’ve kinda been slacking on these because I spent a lot of money between my last indoor grow and the outdoor grow. other than electricity, I have less than $50 into this grow. saving up money for the next one which will be the beginning of my pheno hunting, starting with Planet of the Grapes
Seems like everyone is running ethos genetics these days. Gotta grab me some of their manderine cookies v2. Looking like this budget run is gonna turn out fruitful though 😁
yea I don’t really run them much. But they are retiring POTG soon and I really want to try that strain. for the most part I like Rare Dankness, Humboldt, Exotic Genetix, and In House. I’m still trying out different breeders though. I was happy with the way Cookies grew, despite the hate they get as a company.
watered with regular water. pistils are starting to show and the plants are all looking healthy.
great lookin planrs
Good looking sea of green.
thanks! they have given me trouble the entire grow but still truckin
they filled out better than I thought. discovered today I brought in spider mites with my outside harvest. right now it’s isolated on one plant, but I can’t put it in quarantine because that room is full of harvest lol. I treated with doctor Zymes so hopefully I can get it under control
Just remember a few extra treatments after you no longer see them to make sure you kill any that hatch. Better to happen early
i will spray every other day for probably the next month haha. once i get a different spray than Zymes I will switch them up every other spray to keep the mites on their toes
watered with recharge.
what I was afraid might happen, happened. seems I brought in spider mites with my outside harvest. I sprayed tf out of my plants with Dr.Zymes and I will get some Lost Coast plant therapy on the way. I turned off the lights for the rest of the day. this is one of the reasons I went with the freebies instead of my good seeds. I will continue to monitor and get my plants on a treatment schedule.
Sorry to hear that. 😢 We hope the treatments help. Have you dealt with them before?
no. I have dealt with russet mites before and they are a fucking nightmare. almost impossible to remove. from what I’ve seen spider mites are easier to treat and kill as long as you catch them early. the key is a treatment schedule because gestation period is extremely short
You got this Smokie!! 💪
thanks 🙏 I appreciate it!
Keep us updated man! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
fuck it. I’m moving the plants outside and just let em ride. I’m over this grow. I’ll be getting new supplies in and starting a new grow, the proper way, as soon as I trim my outdoor and spray/clean the shit out of my house
Mites turn monster?
yea they did. and I accidentally burnt my plants trying to give it a foliar spray. I got my harvest all trimmed up and put in a tub, sprayed for bugs and will clean my tent out in the next few days with bleach. I’m starting my next batch of seeds tonight.
I got some cuttings I'm afraid are not gonna root. Went and tried using some cheap coco starting pellets I had laying around instead of my normal root riot cubes. Not sure they are going to take. I'll wait and see but the good news is I have alot of seeds to choose from if they don't make it 🤣
haha I’ve killed more seeds and clones in those pellets than I care to admit. I feel like they don’t get enough airflow because rot is what kills it 90% of the time for me.
Good job! You're off to a great start 👍
Root riot plugs FTW 👏
Thanks! It should be an interesting grow!
👍🙌💪 they already starting to sprout.
