Grow Timeline (100 updates)
Beginner to indoor growing and growing cannabis in general. This is a baby step journey.
15 Gal pot
Mother Earth Groundswell Soil,
Lights are from a friend and from amazon, strain was also given to me from a friend. No added nutrients. Last watering 2 days ago, Soil still moist to touch.
Welcoming any advice, I have a tent coming in a few days so I can control the climate better.
Plant was given to me and I am a very novice cannabis grower. Just looking for some great people and great wisdom.
I would just get rid of any leaves that look completely ruined and just keep control of humidity and temp. maybe make a homemade dome til your tent comes.
I mean it doesn’t look like an unhealthy plant maybe too much water??
The plant did come with the leaves like that already and I've only watered it twice, once when I potted it and again when the soil was dry. I will trim the leaves that look too "burnt" and hope the energy goes towards the other leaves. Thank you for your wisdom!!
I made my own "tent" lol woth pvp pipes, emergency blankets, duct tape and zip Ties on some thin boards I got free from work..
AY BELIEVE IT OR NOT STUFF LIKE THAT STILL WORKS! I’m all for it if it gets the job done fr
AY BELIEVE IT OR NOT STUFF LIKE THAT STILL WORKS! I’m all for it if it gets the job done fr
it does.. check it out on.i posted some pics.
oh yea! your gonna be fine
My 2ft. x 3ft. x 5ft. tent came in the mail and I got the time to set it up today. No real issues or problems setting it up.
Washed the walls of the tent and around the area where it will be going.
My only problem is that I bought a exhaust fan that is too powerful for my tiny tent. All closed up it made my poor plant look like a wacky inflatable arm man. So I will send that back and order a 4 or inch fan instead. Other than that very excited to get this set up going!!!
yea looks like you bought the 8 in fan lol
yeah I sent that one back and got the 4 inch. Works a lot better
o ok yea I knocticed after making the comment in the future pictures that you sent it back and got 4 in..question I see you've been getting vivosun products. are they cheaper on Amazon or do you order from there website
I ordered everything off amazon. and I've heard it is better because customer service is iffy
Returned the 8 inch vent fan & ducting. it made my poor little plant look like a wacky inflatable arm man. Ordering the 4 inch fan with the smart controller soon once I get the amazon credit.
Also got a new "friend" for my little lady but she'll be going outdoors so I can compare.
Theres a formula for how much fan power you need. I believe you can find it the “Learn to Grow” videos. If you ever have trouble finding a fan for a tent.
Thank you!! I did do some math on the fan I need. My tent is a 2ft. X 3ft. X 5ft. and when I did some research getting the 4 inch vent fan is going to be a lot better.
The light is a Vivosun Aerolight A100. I have already noticed a increase in heat within the tent since I installed the light. I also turned off the humidifier for now to not dry out the whole tent. New vent should be coming in within the next week.
do you find the fan is just pushing heat from the light and that has gathered at the top of the tent onto the plants? I've never used that light but that was my fear when I saw it.
Since upgrading to the light I have definitely noticed a increase in tent temperature. As for the heat going down on the plants, when I put my hand under the fan it isn't hot just mildly warm. I also have another fan in for circulation.
Nice light. The fan should help with air flow at the top of your canopy.
Overall doing great. Keeping an eye on the leaf colors and happy to see my temp and humidity are right where I want them to be.
Just in case you are not aware when boiling the water you will be concentrating the minirals in your water instead of removing them. You can get a water Distiller online for around 40$ of your looking for a minirals free water source. Especially a must if you have to run a humidifier like I do
I did not know this!!! My town had been on a boil order so I was trying to bo all the bad stuff out but if it makes the minerals more concentrated then I won't be doing that again
Boiling will kill the bad bacteria and things you don't want to drink but salt and other minerals will stay in the water. Not the end of world just food for thought. If you have a ppm meter you can see the difference before and after
I am going to invest in a pph meter and ph has def been something I am trying to keep am eye on
I got the vivo sun two pack of pH meter and ppm/temp reader for a good deal off Amazon if your looking for a suggestion but I'm sure there are others maybe even more budget friendly
I'll look into that! Lol I had bought a vivosun 3 in 1 for 8$ and it was junk haha
So the top leaves are a brighter green than the lower ones. Is this supposed to happen in Veg or am I nute burning my plant with the soil I chose?
This is the way I see it. The plant is not used it’s current environment. There are a lot of variables for this like such as pH, soil microbes, organic and inorganic nutrient availability. All these tiny these add up to what is essentially perfect nutrient intake. Cannabis loves being in a range of 5.5-6.5 pH. However, a plant that has been constantly grown in solely 4.0 or 7.5 pH has a stable environment and grows well. When you give your plant pH treated water, we have to give a constant pH otherwise we risk stressing the plant. Soil microbes are also an important factor. Bacteria and fungi have long co-existed with plants and will probably forever co-exist with plants. They help the plants root intake more nutrients and the way this done is through an exchange. Certain bacteria and fungi “fix” or put in USABLE NITROGEN into the soil. This is only one of the benefits, another to not exclude is pest and disease control. Essentially, dont change too much around with your plant, she needs stability.
I honestly haven't done a whole lot other than taking it out of the tent to set up the tent further. No nutrients given just the soil I planted in and have only watered twoce.
How are the cotyledon and true leaves doing. Once those guys die off, its a good indication to feed the plant.
Those have been go e since I first got the plant
You may want to feed. Purple stalks this early is usually a sign of stress or deficiency and I believe in this case, you need a little Phosphorus or maybe a cal-mag.
I picked up a Cal Mag today and will be adding this to my watering tomorrow!!
Went to my local farmer supply store and picked up my nutrients. I have a tote of water setting for evaporation and will water and feed tomorrow morning.
Also got my new vent and smart system set up!
General Hydroponics nutrients off amazon are good also. I got bigger bottles than fox farms for bout same price.
im going to try organic dry amendments soon. I found out that FF and a lot of synthetic nutes have small trace amounts of heavy metals
After the last feeding the top leaves seem to be gaining their color back. I have water sotting for 24 hours to evaporate chlorin3 and will be making good use of my new Ph and TDS meters.
I was having a small problem keeping the temperature at a stable place. I went into my smart grow and adjusted the duct fan to burp air for 30 min. on 10 min. off. So far I am keeping a nice and warm 73-74°F with a humidity this morning of 73% but the tent is usually in between 64% - 71%
Aaaaand! My blackout strips came in so I could cover the dang light on my extension strip.
I think some of your growth issues are do to your VPD, try running .6 VPD 84 degrees and 85% humidity if it’s a photo plant. auto lower to 77 degrees and 80% humidity. I run this till they flower. try and see what happens. 👍
dim your lights raise as high as they go. they don’t need a lot of intense light. I use fluorescent t5 lights. they work well.
So the more hot & humid the better? And dim the veg light?
how do I get my vpd to go down?
works for me anyways, I use a space heater and a humidifier with exhaust fan and temp and humidity controllers $20 for a combo one.
think jungle, it doesn’t come from the Midwest, think Thailand 🇹🇭
as far as the lights go, you want her to stretch, so start closer till she gets bigger than keep raising the lights, you want stretching, longer colas bigger buds
ok ill lower my light right down
Felt like a mad scientist with my pipettes, plastic syringes and all kinds of tubs of water. Overall went really well with no issues. Got to calibrate and use my new water Ph meter as well as my soil Ph tester as well. Should be a happy plant really soon!
Checked on the plant hours later and temp, humidity & VPD are all in stable ranges!
your plant is starting to show signs of deficiency and potentially overwatering, How often are you watering? Cannabis love dry back periods it gives the roots a chance to dig deeper to find water thus giving you a bigger root system. At 2 gals you’re more than likely drowning this plant in such a small pot
The pot is a 15 gal sized pot. I know the plant is getting deficit that's why I am trying to give it nutrients. I only water when the soil is completely dry. I had watered 1 gal and it lasted 2 days until bone dry. I just gave it a good watering today and will not water it again until the soil is completely dry.
looks better today, perked up a bit, color seems darker. raise light 2-3” more. leaves are starting to taco 🌮, signs of heat stress
Will do ty Six
she’s looking better! how are you liking the Vivosun gear and controller?
Okay that’s my apologies It looked like a 3 or even a 5 gal in the photos, are you growing in coco or living soil? I’ve yet to try out coco since feeding schedules are still a little finicky for me. I grow in living soil for now to make things easier I won’t transplant for another 20 or so days then my soil would be good for another month before I have to start feeding and this won’t be until halfway through veg
I'm growing in soil. The plant was given to me so I don't know it's full genetics. And before I knew about transplanting in different sized pots, the 15 gal was given to me also, so I went gung ho and started buying MotherEarth Groundswell Soil from Wal-Mart. And just got tue nutes last week. I've had no real problems so far. Just trying to get more knowledgeable about growing indoors.
yeah just be careful with living soil , most are nitrogen rich especially fox farms so you could run into a bit of nute burn, if you’re nutrients have a feed schedule i’d do at least half of a light dose but usually most soils have enough nutrients to last you about a month but your whole plant looks a little light green so it’s definitely hungry so I’d use a 3:1:1 npk ratio or even a 3:1:2 while you’re still in veg
My grow big is a 6.4.4. and my CalMag solution is a 1.0.0. so def trying haha
Rearranged the tent some for more air flow. Raised the light exactly 18" from the canopy of the plant. Cleaned up the calcified runoff from feeding and closed it up for the day. Next watering will be a Ph balanced water to try and raise soil Ph. Also keeping an eye on the taco-ing of leaves and that one rusty leaf.
Also my smart controller says I'm doing a good job of keeping things consistent
green stocks, yay. she is growing. 👏
she needs more cal mag but don’t overdo
ok i will up my CalMag dose next feeding. And I know she's finally growing!!!
Starting to measure everyday from the soil upwards. Checked under all the leaves and everything looks nice and healthy. Twisted the branches gently between my fingers for a little strengthening but overall impressed with how green she finally got with some nutes.
Put in two support sticks, may think about some strength training. Next couple of days are supposed to be really hot so keeping the Lung room stable will be a challenge. I've been keeping my VPD at a stable level to keep the plant uptaking nutrients properly. Soil is dry on the first two inches but the mere says it's still moist down under so I will wait another day or two before my next watering. Will up the Ph to 7 in the water to try and help raise soil Ph.
do yourself a favor and get rid of the soil meter, that thing will mess you up.
DO Not Trust it’s readings.
Yeah? You think my Ph is normal considering how green she is?
yes. f those meters. microbes will balance your soil, just add some periodically throughout the grow.
best way to know your soil ph is to test the soil with a cheap soil test kit. those are accurate. also provide NPK in soil as well, I use them often when I have new soils.
can you get them on Amazon or should I find a gardening store?
amazon, Home Depot if you live by one. all over really, pretty available. look up soil test kit
ok ty!!!! lol guess I'm out 30 bucks with thar meter haha. I knew something was off when the meter says that the soil is moist when it feels pretty dry on top
don’t feel bad I got one too. useless
😅
Supposed to be the hottest day in over a decade where I live so keeping the room dark and well ventilated will be key to the day while I'm at work. I have a AC running in the next room and plenty of fans to circulate the air. Fingers crossed 🤞
turn up the inline fan to exhaust that hot air . why I shut down my tent in garage & go out side . I’m in Ny & it’s hot as hell temps reading 107 . that not including the humidity. try making a swamp cooler
use a box fan with a cooler full of ice & have the box fan blow over the cooler .
That is so genius!!!! And I'm in ME so I hear ya. Heat is crazy!
we practically neighbors. I just grow out side in summer. I shut down the tent in May . this year I was 2 weeks behind & lucked out that it wasn’t hot in early June . where u keep tent ? so much easier to heat tent up then to cool it down. I just can’t see using an AC when I can grow outside.if prices for a pound was still $4500 then I run an AC . best of luck . let me know if it works
Haha my bed room >.<
that nice to be able to have in the house . I wish I still had a basement. cooling off for now
The wife isn't so sure about it but I keep a positive attitude >.<
Gave a good and well deserved watering after yesterday, no run off either. She is adapting to the strength training perfectly. Hoping to bush her out. Wondering when to prune off some of the sucker leaves but I'm not touching her yet.
I water my outdoor plants every other day with half gal of water and still get run off. 2 gal with no run off baffles me lol.
Was a very dry 15 gal pot haha
15 gal pot, That makes more sense 😅. I was thinking Damn that’s a lot of water 😂 🤣
Everyone that reads my posts thinks the same haha
Doing great since the watering and starting of training. Took off a couple leaves and zipped the tent back up for the day. Next watering will have a full dose of Nutes.
I would recommend not a full dose unless you increase the light. she is well fed. lower ph a bit the dry purple ish leaves is a sign of higher ph. starting to become a phosphorus issue. also maybe a little less water when feeding. just a suggestion. 🤙
if you super crop the tallest ones your plant will start filling out horizontally and produce more bud sites
Ok i will use less water but same nute strength. And I haven't topped yet bc I am so new that I'm scared and don't know where I should start.
you don’t need to top. carefully bend the tall ones over. and pinch stems. Will start to fill out rather than have 3 buds on it.
ok i can bend, what do you mean by pinch stems?
gently crush the stems, just till you hear a little pop. this will strengthen them and give you a bigger yield.
it’s ok if they flop over the will be right back up the next day.
ok thank you!!!
Just a small trim and quite a few pinches and twists. Moved the fan around so that the stems can get more wind strength. Saw 1 little black fly type thing and smoothed it then saw that 1 thrip. I've been keeping a good eye out for pests this whole time and I can't really do predatorial insects bc my tent is in my bedroom. I have some dietenacheus Earth just in case I need it and I have yellow strips coming in the mail soon. But super happy with my little Chimera!
Oh! And will be feeding full nutes with less water to make sure she doesn't miss her feeding.
Going away for the evening and won't be back until late tomorrow. She was turning a brighter green so I know she was hungry. Just 1 gal with full strength nutes in a 15 gal pot. Overall still very happy with her!
She’s gonna miss you 😢 lol
<3 I made sure to say goodbye and say daddy loves you
Again just another day in the tent. Chimera is doing great. color is going back to normal so I know the nutes are doing their job and I have a bit more nutes to throw in on my next feeding. Hoping the root drench will help expand her growth.
Need a little help here guys. Why are my leaves starting to look like this? I just noticed it yesterday and waited until today to get a good picture. Any and all advice is welcomed!
if your using bottle nutes you might be Overfeeding too much nitrogen if using organic amendments then your plant is reaching its upper limit on uptaking nitrogen and it shouldn’t be too bad the clawing can also be related to a bit of heat stress and it can happen easier. giving the plant cal mag can help it tolerate more stress while also optimizing micronutrient uptake which I would recommend.
ps if you think your overwatering then wait for the top 2 inches to be fully dry before rewatering and ramp up the amount when the plant starts showing signs of flower
Should I up the calmag in the next feeding and back off the main fertilizer? I'm using Fox Farms nutes
After some more research on my part, I believe you are right. Nitrogen Toxicity. Next watering was going to be straight water anyways.
calmag isn’t a nutrient in it of itself it just facilitates the uptake of them so adding the recommended amount to your regular feeding schedule would be best
ok that's what I have been following. That makes me feel better
both cal mag and Silca are great additions to your nutrients it helps build stronger stems and increase plant resilient it's also known to regulate water flow from root to canopy .i recommend tps Silca gold as well as there cal mag
I am currently using Fox Farm CalMag but I will look into the silica. I have a local hydroponics shop I can go ask to see if they have the brand of silica you're saying!
Silica comes in many forms and is arguably one of the most abundant minerals, personally I opt for Azomite & Oyster Shells along with Diatomaceous Earth as it doubles as pest control. Use this in tandem with Kelp me Kelp you or similar product and you'll never need branch support again. If messing around with dry silica amendments, just use caution, as silica is know to cause lung disease.
Funny enough I actually have some dietenacheus Earth I was planning on putting on tue too of my soil. We use it at hone when the fleas get too bad. I didn't know that worked as a silica!!
Sure does... Azomite also offers up Calcium, Magnesium & potassium which further strengthens cellular walls for optimal nutrient uptake. It also helps improve soil health and aids in proper moisture retention. Same with Oyster Shells and they have sharp hard egdes for pest. Down to Earth boxes last forever on home grow scale.
Thank you for the help!!!
also if you are using alot of nitrogen you can back off on the nuts and do water for a a couple days and then just a few used coffe grounds on the top soil not around the base of the steel don't want root rot just as a kinda mixture on yr top soil ,it really does help and you can just continue water for a few day n then go back to nutes after ,but if you do add used coffe grounds make sure is like a shot glass or less on just yr top soil .don't mix it in just kinda sprinkle it on n leave it it can hold water n help with micro nutrients. or if you don't want to touch the coffe you can sprinkle half a cap or cap of just plain milk .it's calcium and vitamins but not everyday and rarely you don't want fungus to start just a good pick up!
and only in vegg and if sick plants.
I've heard the coffee ground trick! i may try that out with my outdoor plant just to make sure shes getting the nutes she needs.
Noticing these Thrip scratches on a few leaves. As well as a few aphids stuck to my sticky traps. She's taking well to stretch training and bushing out more. Checked soil wetness and it's dry at least 3 inches down so I'm going to wait another day and water it on the 5th. Get that good dry back before a good watering. Will be applying dietenacheus Earth to the top soil later today.
use need oil spray,Dr Jake's neem oil seed spray just got it it killaphids ,spider mites ,white flies all those lil shits.
I have some of the capt. Jake's neem. But I'm trying to use that as a last resort if I can help it.
if it's organic itl be fine unless yr about to flush it says OK in vegitation. It's the buds I'd not use it on .but I totally understand.
Haha being a first time grower I'm scared to use it but I also did buy it just in case I have to use it
yr good man bugs suck I'm just glad u got the right stuff if you do want to just don't do it past veg.or not especially not around harvest or before flush.
I've also so read now that if y OK u use live soil n or organic it's cool to not flush and the can't even tast the buds that they did flush compared to the ones they did flush .also they say that for the clean Grey ash it leaves also but it it's live again there saying it does not not matter but you know half of us still will. if hydro for sure .
actually don't it's just a dill I do and have a hand full of people tell me it worked for them but people will take it wrong and keep adding and it's supposed to be deleted in water n only a half a cap full or cap but it defines perked mine up when I was having trouble .I learned it from some big time growers in the industry.
So dilute the captain jack if I do use it?
noooo just was talking about helping the micro nutritionts with a half cap of milk but I've only done it once n seemed to help but just scratch that .The captain Jack's is fine I have used it this week nothing wrong it does say use in morning or not on seedling that haven't had roots yet but ,it's sage and effective .you'll be fine with the capt.stff
ok haha sorry for mix up
all good man happy 4th hope all is well for you today !
you too thank you for all your wisdom!!!
Are these balls or bud sites forming? Noticing the "clawing" fixing itself, haven't watered but getting the tote ready for chlorine evap. Will water with my CalMag and Kangaroots mixture. Still trying to go with a non-spray IPM method but if I keep noticing the thrip scratches I may go with the cpt. Jack's I got.
I don’t think it is but it’s too early to tell. Pollen sacs usually develop earlier than flowering sites so if the plant is quite far along then it’s most likely not
Okay, I didn't think it was a pollen sack. I just happened to notice it whike doing some training and watching.
I hope not I hope it's a new growth.
typical you'll see those hairs by your nodes if u have a female that's a tell tale
Awesome thank you for confirming my happy thought 😀
A little Supplement water and some tiny pruning of sucker leaves. Overall she is doing pretty good for a first time grower. Almost afraid of the pre-flower growth. hoping she doesn't grow bigger than the tent.
Put some cooler ice packs in n3xt to the fan. 3.p.m. is the peak heat so by the time I get out of work and take them out should keep the tent under 90°F
love the creative work with what u have sometimes
<3
perhaps try to make your light come on at night instead of the day during summer. I’m sure the electric company charges double from 3-7 or something like mine does.
As a beginner I can now see why people do run their tents at night during the summer. And even tho my light has a built in fan, I know it is still generating some heat. I only worry about light leaks and turning my plant into a herme
A little top pinching and a check-in this morning. She's doing good, going to leave her alone today and monitor humidity. I have the dehumidifier on, it's just humid today.
get a microscope and put one of the damaged leaves under and look on both the top and bottom sides. knowing what it is will help you fight them. get it taken care of fast before it infests your entire garden
Okay, would a jewelers lens work or is there a microscope you prefer? Also do you think it could be wind burn instead of pests?
I think it’s pests. you might be able to to tell with a jewelers loop. there are plenty of $30 ones on Amazon. I would get one of those. they have them on stands or that can Bluetooth to your phone, whichever you prefer.
ok thank you just purchased a digital microscope 50x - 1000x zoom
it makes looking at your trichomes much more fun too lol
<3
1st Pic is b4, the rest are After. Topped around the top nodes to make her bush even more. may need to re-tie some branches to the support poles. Also lollipopped the bottom leaves off. Water is getting ready for tomorrow. Will be a full feeding with the Kangaroots.
When did you put your stakes into your plant?
June 23rd so like a little over 2 weeks
Ok cool. I'm trying to think of when I should put mine in. Yours looks great!
Thank you! I just peeked at your grow and you're looking pretty good yerself!
5 Days since last watering. She was completely dry, watered 1.5 Gallons to the 15 Galllon pot. There was some runoff, enough for me to check the EC with. Time to watch her now and note my progress.
Update: VPD Went to a stable .8 after running the Dehumidifier
I was gonna say I'm new to this but those numbers are way off are they not? humidity should be 60,, vpd 80 to 120 going for best is 1.0?
how old from popping soil ?
Yes you want to try and keep your VPD anywhere in the .8 - 1.1 % kpa range. I had a rough estimate in my notes from what my smart grow tells me. What do you mean by popping soil?
She's taken really great to the feeding. And after moving my fan set up and changing my light's fan to a natural wind setting, I am still seeing more eaten leaves every morning. Should I lay down more dietenacheus Earth? I have some Capt. Jack's Spray but everyone says to use that as a last resort... Any advice is welcome!
Have you identified the pest yet? Figuring out what your dealing with will best help you identify the next step for ipm. If your not flowering neem oil may be a good option to apply. May want to scrub the tent out and if you going outside wash and change clothes before tending indoor garden to help prevent transporting pest or something else from the outside to your tent.
I don’t believe it’s pests, imo you are starting to get a phosphorus toxicity locking out zinc, it’s why your new growth is getting yellow and twisted. dark purple ish leaves also is an indication of toxicity. options are increase Ppfd and DLI, increase transpiration, or cut your phosphate down. just my opinion though. micronutrients deficiency shows up in newest growth.
I have a microscope coming in the mail so I can look more closely at the leaves. But where I don't really see any bugs literally anywhere!! I'm going to go with "Six" and increase my light intensity and try to work on nutrients first before going with a full IPM.
I increased my light intensity from 75% to 85% I have been trying to keep it down for when I hit flowering but if you think it needs more light then I will crank it up.
yeah, you are driving a Ferrari in second gear, open her up bud you would normally increase during flowering but she is a bit over fed. turning up the photons will help use up the nutrients faster through transpiration. VPD around .8 will help aid in that process.
turn down lights and raise weeks 1-3 in flower to promote stretching. then increase Ppfd weeks 5-8 then lower Ppfd again till finished.
Okay when I swap to flower i will decrease the light intensity and then raise it up again. My light has a flowering mode I'll use when I do swap over. As for the nutes... I just fed a full strength yesterday. And I always try to keep VPD in between .8 - 1.1 at all times
I do make sure to change clothes and wash my hands and arms b4 going into my indoor growing. Prsky buggers can latch on from anywhere!
sweet, she will respond quickly to more light. give her water for a bit till she starts growing. little less phosphorus till flower
Ok will do
I promise you , I don't get paid or anything . just experience , Athena IPM works and it's fairly cheap on price for the amount. that fixes everything . I've done it for 3 different pests and molds in my learning process . Athena IPM took care of everything and had beneficials that are helpful with growth and flower . I don't pedastool stuff that doesn't work . I watched a powder doughnut looking plant turn back into straight green foliage and have pic proof .
Athena IPM huh? going into the Amazon list!
you can go to Athenaag.com and get it for the same price or cheaper lol . I'm telling you they are fair about their business
Thank you!
Sneak peak @ my outdoor grow, last pics. Checked on my girl b4 lights out and she is doing great since topping. Will give a good watering with Ph balanced water in the morning. Also raised light intensity another 5% Currently @ 90% Brightness
looks good, that is the color you want. 👍
Thank you! I also lowered the light an inch and watered her really good today. Soil was bone dry
A good watering and inspection of my girl. Not sure if this little white stuff is residue from my dietenacheus earth or is something else. Microscope will be in in a couple days. Overall happy with hiw she is turning out.
I'm not sure either on the spots but are you making sure to spray the bottom of the leaves with IPM of any kind ?
I have not sprayed any IPM yet. I have some captain Jack's and a peppermint oil spray to try. I also believe the powder might be from the dietenacheus earth I had put down
After topping and letting her grow out for 4 days I decided to give her a trim and add a little training. Gave her a after-workout spa spray of Silica Gold & Water to help her regenerate, gave a top layer of dietenacheus earth for save measure then shut the tent up to leave her alone. Just got the new microscope set up after closing. Tested it out but will definitely need more practice but on the bright side I don't see a si gle pest in Tent at all.
Any little white specs are from the dietenacheus earth dust it's not powdery mildew or mites.
looks like the twisting has stopped and color has came back. nice 👍. for your future reference indoor pests don’t really do that to leaves
I 100% believe you! I think a combination of wind burn, heat stress and light burn made them just deteriorate on themselves.
Weekly Tent report from my Vivosun smart grow controller. Trimming and pinch training came back great. Helped prune a few more lower leaves and under canopy nodes to focus on the upper canopy.
Looks great! When did you put your stakes in?
About 3-4 weeks ago whenever you're ready to LST your plant go ahead and put some in
Soil is still moist from all the damn humidity, even with the dehumidifier. Topped the few node sites I could see forming. Still new to topping so I hope I'm doing it right. Pulled out the stakes and moved the farther out, bought some binder clips to help tie down the branches. Now to watch her grow.
Thats sone great training
you cam flower it or can can leave it alone for a week or so to recoup from the stress and then flower it. Looks nice
humidity can be a bitch especially this season . always keep the stacks to the outside edge of bag . u don’t want to move em around, can damage the feeding roots . I see u using clips . I been using them last couple grows . I use to snap each branch by hand to flatten canopy . clips saving me time & works great . allowas airflow & light & the air flow will help with the high humidity
Thanks Guys!!!
Came right back from the major LST session we did yesterday. Fed nutes but dialed it back to try and avoid any nute toxicity. A little discoloring in the leaves but I believe that's because she is hungry.
Still growing back upwards since the major LST session. Not much to report other than watching the discoloration of my new growth. Next 2 watering will be just water, no CalMag or Silica.
looking good 💯🍁
Thank you growmie!!
🔥🍁🏴
Went inside the tent and locked my self in. Shut the light off and I couldn't see a darn thing. Going to make sure I close up the "in" lung hole with a vent or online fan nit sure yet but will know b4 flowering.
be carefully when popping doing the chiropractic pop ,I thought I messed up but no leaking juice no worries.so as long as yr gental but it pop u know it worked n the supercropping is going to work and go In and bend back n forth verry gently to get flow it's like when we get hurt all our blood goes to a spot same w these they love when done correct.
I've noticed with some that I have def been a little too rough and they've taken longer to come back but so far I have had great luck with my pinching!! But I will make sure to be careful!!
yeah that happe d when I pinched to hard the first time it literally stops the growth for like a week or 2 n then they come back ,but if you do it right there won't be any splitting or leakage from the stem.Bro it popped and I thought I fucked it up and I looked like okay let me see where I split the damn stem and put so.e cinnamon on it and thats when I noticed there was nothing leaking and no split so it worked perfect I did it right and the plant had double the folage by 2 or 3rd day after that n now I have to defoliate its growing g so much so fast.
Haha yeah the first time I ever pinched it came back Luke crazy
see haha it's nutty but it does impressive work hahaha, good job brotha
Thanks growmie!
I think you got it buddy ,just keep it clean like you have n yr good bro! best of luck to u sir!
Took a quick snap of the plant and the little pests that I can't see haha. Will be starting flower lights & time tomorrow. Wish me luck!
we're did you get the bug thing
Right off amazon. Yellow helps with the little black flies and blue sticky helps with the fungus gnats
Changed my time from 5:30A.M. - 11:30P.M. to 6:00A.M. - 6P.M. New light settings for flower and set up a donated 6 inch inline fan. Is thw tent supposed to balloon right up? I have the exhaust fan on max as well and the whole tent is ballooned right up
if u can & if your electric company has cheaper rates for overnight use I would start at 6pm-6am save some money.u have positive air pressure that why it ballooned . u have more air pumping in then being pumped out . this can cause problems with ventilation efficiency & u losing to much CO2 . lower the speed . what brand do u have & does it have carbon filter . u want the hot air out & replaced with cooler fresh air . look up the manufacturer & see if they have the specifications that u need . I think the tool box in back of app has something
like I said it was gifted, I'll unplug it and try ro figure out another way. is it okay if there isn't a I line hole for it's resting time?
it doesn’t have any company name on the inline fan ? does it have any speed controls or intensity settings ? if it keeps running then those are the cheap Chinese ones that come with the cheap grow tent set up’s they have on Amazon . u might have to run it & stop it manually. post a picture of the fan & let me see . I seen em all . I hate to see u have to do it manually. almost better off with just some fans
I sent you a dm with the Pic of fan
If your tent is ballooning up with exhaust at full blast turn you intake fan down. If it's still ballooning with the intake fan turned down you can probably just remove the fan altogether and use the exhaust fan online to exchange air
it depends on what you want to do. there is negative, positive, and neutral pressure. negative pressure (exhausting air) is better for odor control. positive pressure like you have does nothing for odor control but is good for pests, pathogens and dust because it’s forcing air out and makes it difficult for them to get in. neutral is just recirculating your air at the same pressure. exhaust from top, supply from bottom. Heat rises, cool air and CO2 drops.
Thanks smokie!! I di want to keep pests away haha
make sure you filter it somehow. i do positive pressure on my tent using double server fans or box fans on the mesh inlet vets. I have the vent fan on top only to exhaust the fan if it get too hot. I push in air 24/7. it helps keep heat down during the day and humidity down at night. the air is forced out through my exhaust fan outside.
my exhaust fan blows back into my room but my inline fan is on the other side of the tent from the bottom. I can try putting a box fan up against the open vent flap to see if that helps!!
if you got a window in your room you can get a 6” exhaust kit from Amazon for $40 probably. I would recommend getting a backdraft damper as well. Vivosun also has a wall plug that allows you to hook up non smart gear to your grow controller https://a.co/d/gATH80t https://a.co/d/ga4rRF7 https://vivosun.com/vivosun-growhub-outlet-controller-a22s-p157276375671020586-v157276375671020584
ill check these out thank you!!
happy growing!
Can already see the growth since swapping to flower. Foliar fed some TPS Silica Gold a half hour before lights out. Have been running the inline fan with proper ventilation to avoid pillowing. But I shut it off during lights out to prevent light leaks from open vent holes.
Good looking canopy 👏
Thanks Growmie!!!
Had been some time since her last watering. Now that she is in glower she will be drinking lots. I wanted to soak the soil and get some run off to test for EC. I'm not sure if the number I got is a good or bad number but the plant seems to be doing just fine. I raised the light intensity a tiny bit again and will continue to do so until the light is maxed out. Will wait another day or two before the next defoliation session.
Put a fan next to the vent flap to help circulate more air out. Temporary fix for now and will be adjusting some things lager for next time. Overall growing like a weed!
Nice thinking. I am about ready to break down and buy a tent A/C. said I would never buy one of those combo thingies... but this growing in summer is tough, no matter how much shit you got running!
Since I started growing and started using this app everyone says that I should use my lights @ night during the summer to reduce tent heat during the day. At one point this year I put some frozen cooler ice packs and frozen water bottles in the tent while I was gone for the day just to keep it under 90F°
Yeah, I was running overnights, due mainly to the fact that we are like just barely second place for electricity, but I got solar, so to save on battery backup, I switched to a daytime grow schedule. it was the only way the wife was letting me put my grows on the essential circuits for the Powerwall...
Awww haha. The struggle am I right? This is my first ever grow. So im definitely learning a lot this time around and trying to think of what I could do differently next time. Going into flower I have this tiny little Dehumidifier and idk if it will be enough to keep up with the perfect humidity levels for flowering. My next purchase is a better Dehumidifier but I also don't want to over do it either 😅
For dehumidification.... overdo it. Just get something tou can control. my first grow was a continuous dehumidifier, a tiny one, I was emptying water constantly. I now habe a programmable one for the room. thought it would be big enough. it isn't. even with the 2 dehumidifier going... 😆 Trust in this. you are going to learn a lot, with every grow, and you'll keep doing it a little different, and a little better, every time!
Thanks King, I'll keep the dehumidifier going at all times then!!
If your dealing with the humidity I am, do it. I have 3 dehums going now, 2 in the room, and the little continuos is in the tent. The window AC is so oversized for the room, it's holding the room at 65°F and the tent is holding 75-80°F Lights On and about 70 lights out. I'm holding at like 59% RH average...
Lately my RH has been in between anywhere from 58%-78% in the tent with the dehumidifier going. Outside the tent the humidity is pretty dry.
Do you have your inline fan set to ramp up speed as the humidity climbs? you definitely want to up the speed of your inline, and the more fans you can have running in there, the better... 78% RH is crazy to deal with. you are definitely going to need some oscillating fans to keep the air moving through the buds.
That's what im thinking too. I have a friend with a 4 inch inline fan im going to try out. That should be perfect for what I'm trying to achieve. Just some better air flow.
yeah definitely. I wish I still had that extra growhub lying around. thay makes it a snap. monitors and ramps up amd down itself
Dumped the dehumidifier water into the pot and have some water set aside for tomorrow. Going to water with Recharge to get the microbes going.
hey free just a heads up on dehumidifier’s water. it’s possible to have the machine itself leak heavy metals into the water from the equipment. don’t want to consume that. Im sure it’s fine, but I don’t chance it. looking out for ya.
also I dim and raise my lights week 1-3 to promote stretching and get bigger buds. once flowers are developing then I increase to full DLI, if done rt they should double in height/size
Okay. I have the light @ 80% right now so when the buds start coming I'll crank it up. And about the dehumidifier, I fid not know that and makes me rethink my choices haha thanks Six 😄
yup as much photons as possible up to 1200 Ppfd if possible then back down around 8 weeks and beyond
to simulate autumn better?
more to preserve the terpenes the will evaporate or dry out if too hot. last week of flower I run temperature around 70-72 and 38-40% humidity
ok
Removed the inline fan, was proving to be more of a hassle than a help. I fixed a shorter ducting to the inlet hole to prevent light leaks during lights out time. Watered with real Growers Recharge and haven't fed in almost 10 days so I will do a 1 gal feed in the next day or two depending on how thirsty she is. Will start to reduce Grow Big and start to incorporate Tiger Bloom soon. Also raised light intensity to 83%
What was up with the inline fan?
I'm mainly just scared of having any light leaks during my flower period so I had set up a inline fan to blow air in and keep the hole dark. But the fan that was given to me is too powerful for the tent so I just set up a piece of ducting in the inlet hole and hope that during lights out no light comes through the ducting. Mostly me just being paranoid of light leaks
I was always told if you can’t read a book in there then it’s fine. They get moon light in the wild. As long as they’re not getting a lot of light consistently at light throughout flowering stage then you’ll be alright.
Ok. I had my son shut me in last week and I couldn't see a thing in there
You’ll be perfectly fine then dude
😅 Thank you
Made a Co2 jug and raised light intensity by 1%. Bought a clearance fan and installed it for more air circulation. Have some water set aside for a 1 gal feeding tomorrow. Put in New sticky traps since I last watered. Overall she is doing great and growing tall!!
Fed some nutes because it's been 10 days since her last feeding. Put black-out stickers on the three small lights on the back of the new fan. Refilled the Co2 jug this time with double the ingredients. Then took out tue microscope for a little bit to get some practice taking pics with it.
Snipped the broken branch from yesterday. I don't think it's coming back. Just took a few pics and raised the light intensity another 1%.
Time to clean up that under canopy. No need to waste energy on a bunch of leaves that are not catching that light. Looking good!
Okay!! someone told me not to defoliation until after day 21 do you think she'll be ok?
Okay!! someone told me not to defoliation until after day 21 do you think she'll be ok?
She will be okay day 21 you'll defoliate more. But at this point anything in the lower canopy thatis not gonna make it to the top via stretch is wasted energy and same with leaves shadowed out by the leaves in the upper canopy
If you check my scrog grow you can see how much I defoliated initally
Ok thanks Freekill
sheil be good just let the nutrients fix her after a few days sheil be back to normal ,o and if another snapp happens use cinnamon on the wound it heals it up n fast and u can use for rooting gel like material for cloning u dipp in cinnamon and put in the dirt and itl start growing like natural rooting gel.
I see u had some string to put to good use too did you see how to .are it on the door frame and tap it up then make it and at 4 inches is good for me I'd go smaller but 4 is perfect.
Lol I did not properly watch how to i stall it. I just went all gung ho and put it in to the best of my ability. But I am still learning haha
That is so cool I did not know that. We keep ground cinnamon to help deter ants so I have plenty
hey it works man lol good job ,see if it works it works ,and we didn't have to spend 10 bucks .😂 lol I feel cheep now. lol
😅
Just a watering and a look over. She's doing great! 👍
clone ?
I am honestly not sure. It was gifted to me back in early June. The little label that came with it said Permanent Chimera
I would guess so because of the stem pattern but hard to tell sometimes
I trained her so hard!!!
Looking good!
Thank you!!!
Increased light intensity up to 98% almost there! Gave a small feed of 1 gallon since I watered with recharge yesterday. Tucked a few branches back under the scrog and zipped her up. Can't wait to lollipop the under canopy!! ✂️
lollipoping is risky after week 2 of flower, preferably in veg is when I do it. don’t want to interrupt the flowering process. If necessary just know your schedule maybe delayed is all.
next time you use a net get a smaller hole one. really hard to get a big even canopy . that net size is for much larger plants size. I double my nets up and stager them Ihave lots more availability to bend the branches. just a suggestion.
looking good nuggzy boges.
🔥
Ok. yeah I started thinking it was too big. Will definitely try out smaller squares next time. And about the lollipoping. I heard you should take off the lower buds to give more energy to the top buds is this correct?
yup, just try to do it in veg. count how many branches you cut and next time trim that before flowering. You can trim now, but it may stunt it and it may not. try it this time now and next time in veg and log the difference, if any.
Ok. I do have a planner that the wife got me abd I have been writing it in it everyday. Every little step I take for each plant so I can have them logged on paper too
good growers take detailed notes. nice 👍
will see 🙈
Just took a look inside and took some nice sexy pics.
very sexy 🤩
Thank you 😊
Hell yeah buddy, best part of the grow is just sitting back easy and watching them puppies bulk up 💪🌸 I'll throw an updat up tonight of my two ladies in flower. They looking frosty af 🥶
I have the AC running and the entire lung room dark and circulating with two more fans. I opened the vent flap to the tent and have a fan blowing in there right now. Going to monitor the tent heat. Yesterday it got over 95°F
Take care of those ladies! 😉
Lol so far the thermostat probe in the tent say 80 but I totally opened up the flap and have more cold air going in haha
80's perfect. just keep a fan running on them. from my temp gun, my plants in my tent have a leaf temp of 77° with the tent at 80°.
This puts my heart at ease. I have had the AC keeping the room @ 65°F and the inside of the tent stays so hot im really surprised at how hot that light keeps the tent.
my last run did the same thing and it was my carbon filter, I took it off and it cooled down, it was a disposable one, I only got 1 and a half grow cycles out of it.
Luckily I can let it go right I to the bedroom where I am so I don't need a carbon filter but that is good to know!! Any other hacks to keep the tent cool? haha 🧊
what size tent and lights?
my tent is a 2x3x5ft. Light- Vivosun Aerolight A100 2x2
i have the AW400 in a 3'x3'x83 gorilla grow tent, I would think that light shouldn't heat that space, do you have a 6" or 4" inline fan?
I do not i had a 6 but it was putting way to much power into the tent that it looked like a giant balloon. Keeping the ac in the room. has kept it at almost fall like temperatures which is great for trichome production
you should put that back and pull the air out of the tent, not push it in. if it seems too much, run it at 50%
something isn't set right or you are using halogen lights. sorry if that's spelled wrong.
it is a LED light and the levels have stalled out now that the weather isn't so hot
yah, you know your situation do what you think is right 👍🏼
🍻
Took out the scrog net. I rushed to put it in and I would rather have it nice and lighter and the square a bit smaller. Made a 2 gallon batch of nutes and fed what I could. Soaked up the excess water and broke both my fans in the process. One still works and the other needs a new power chord. Didn't have as much time today to mess around with her but there is always tomorrow.
Rearranged some branches and tied them down to the plastic stakes. tucked some other branches and did a good overall check of the plant. She looks really healthy, so I also got some microscope pics of her pistils!! Shhhh don't tell anyone. >.<
I think the cats out of the bag on that... looking pretty 🔥
beautiful!
Caught this quick Pic, I swear I didn't do this! 😅 Gave a small watering of just under a gallon of water and put in some new sticky traps.
They are both trying to shade each other out. Its a death grip! 😆
😆
Tried a trick to get all the runoff not in my tent. Used one of the kids sleds to catch all the water and was able to test it a lot better. Used a bleach solution to cl3an up the salt residue on the bottom of the tent. Refilled the Co2 jug, and shut the tent up. She's been working really hard!
what are you using for co2?
Just a trim of the smallest popcorn buds. This is my first time so I didn't remove too many. I am really trying to maximize this yield as much as I can. I'm trying to prove friends and family that I can do it and not just attempt... again.
well it's ok to top branches and trim leaves in the way .try something different like organic nutes and try some training cards they work
I totally want to go a more organic route next time but will probably use up my nutes first
yea I've been eyeballing the raw line but when I have a deficiency of sort I have a go to nute that cures everything accept bugs it's plant magic and it's that good ! dead serious it's a kelp tea with live microorganisms and cal mag .tps one has a little bit of everything too that's a hybrid nute half organic half synthetic I've used it I just prefer the powdered nutes myself. I'm running down to earth next run I wanna try the amended way once cause I'm running autos
Have you heard anything about Nectar for the Gods line of nutes? That's the only organic nute Icl ow of thats not a powder
Installed a 8 inch plug in fan and hooked the tiny fan back up with a new power chord so there is plenty of air flow up in there!! Wife wanted to rearrange the room so finding a new spot in the bedroom for her. Haha getting her away from the broken piece of wall that gets rain water 🌧 Luckily it has been very dry and has not leaked in months.
nice free nugs
Thanks!! Real
After the big room change yesterday I'm not sure if her yellow leaves are from stress, over feeding or if it's just the plants natural end cycle. I will not pluck them bc I know the plant needs those nutrients. I also noticed my runoff numbers were really high. So going to watch it for a while and just make sure she has adequate water.
might be cal mag they love there cal mag in flower.honestly u could probably get rid of some of them fan leaves .but everyone does it differently
I mean you look maybe 3 or 4 weeks into flower. they start pulling nitrogen from lower fan leaves first . so keep that in mind . the fan leaves fade back from the sides and tips . fades to a yellow and sometimes purple color or reddish pink and purple .
Right. like when the trees turn colors in the fall. That's the conclusion im coming too
I thought about it but I think I'll leave them this time. I'll give a little more Calmag next feeding and see if that helps. Thank you!!!
exactly lol
Mine have been fading purple if you check mine (I believe our grows our similar in date of flower). I haven't seen yellowing but it does depend on cultivar and I may still have an abundance of nitrogen.
Had some recharge from my NYC Sour D germinate session and topped the bottle off on my tent plant. Took a couple of pics and zipped her back up.
looking tasty 🤤
I know right!!!! Thank you this is my first ever grow!!!
looking really good for your first grow🔥. Better then mine ATM.
Watered the top layer a few times before going full on. After letting her drain out the bottom I took some tests on the runoff. She is still running a little on the hotter side. Will make sure to dial back the nutes on Wednesday
Some sexy pics and day 1 of week 6! Almost harvest time!
very sexy 👀
I know. A photographer gets a good life taking pics of sexy ladies ;p
Thank you!!
Awesome the final countdown ⏰
behbehbeh beh behbeh beh beh beh beh 🎺
ITS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!!
Tried something new, after feeding this time I watered some plain water after feeding. Not Ph'd or anything just watered into the soil some after her feeding. Got about the same runoff so I knew my medium was soaked. Took a test of the first runoff then discarded the water before testing the flushed runoff. Took some pictures and put the big gal back in the tent. She is really heavy when the pot is full. Microscope pics thanks to Lady Freenuggz
Slowly watered some recharge onto the top soil. Going to let it work it's magic bringing the nutes to the root zone.
man those are looking AWESOME!!
Thanks Growmie!!
there nice what type of fertilizer are u using
I've been using Fox Farms Trio, FF CalMag and TPS Silica gold
Took some close ups after watering. Got some good runoff. Before the water I took a spray bottle and sprayed the top soil to prepare for watering and I also sprayed all around the outside of the pot. Hoping this would help retain the moisture 8t needed I steady of wicking all that water out to the side. Test results of runoff up above. Water was Ph 6.73 before watering.
Starting to Dry her out a little before her next flush.
O.M.G it looks like candy
Haha thanks!! Honestly im colorblind so when I show my friends they tell me it's very purple haha
well, it a nug color to be worshiped 🙌🏼
awww thanks!!!!
no thank you for sharing. homegrown flowers is a once in a lifetime event. every flower has its own distinct features. we are lucky enough to get see that amazing flower.
❤️
Hooked up the fan with the broken base to the inlet duct. Soaked and flushed through the medium and tested the runoff. Checked trichomes, still some clear ones but mostly milky white, im looking for more amber probably 20 % amber
looks good man! I think the inlet fan will make a good difference from what I understand. I was gonna do the same but went the dehumidifier route and the dehumidifier is essentially my inlet fan.
Watered some recharge, took some pics and shut the tent.
I would only feed till hairs turn red which is around week 6 or so of flowering depending on if there 8 or 9 week flowering strains
other than recharge i haven't fed anything in over a week almost 2
Ok after reading about the 2 week flush i got you now. Lol no more recharge for her then
just water with 2 times the normal that u would use do it till u get run off then one more time in like 4 or so days then let dry out no more water before harvest starve it to let it fade out
follow my page and check out my greenhouse grow my sour diesel is sooo frosty and it’s only like 5 weeks flowering and it’s a 10 week flowering strain I can’t wait for all of mine to be done I got bunch of different strains. I got pineapple, express white widow, gushers, fruity pebbles Girl Scout cookies, sour diesel. super cherry boof
infact another awesome thing that works amazing to get even more resin production is unsulfered black strap molasses I’m gonna start feeding to mine soon actually 1or 2 tablespoons to a gallon mixed very well and then water them once a week with it and that multiplys the microbes 1000 times over and all that goodness in the soil and lower my relitive humidity down to like 30-35% humidity now that should get that resin production really popping off hard lol
Trichomes are still developing beautifully. Still not quite where I want them. I have three fans plus exhaust and light fan running at all times so circulation is great. Humidity has been between 50-60% Trying like hell to keep this going!!
looking good!!!!
🔥 nice fade going on. hope she's some tasty shit
thank you <3
me too!!
😍😍 that color!
That's what people keep saying! And my color blind ass eyes just see dark green haha
Nice gonna have yourself a killer harvest
Did a big flush today before drying her out. The runoff looks a lot better this time around so it looks like home stretch from here on out. Should get to harvest before my birthday. 🎂 🪴
she has a nice fade on her
Thanks!!!
Your Plants doing a good job finishing off the nutrients looking at your fade. Looks like your gonna have a pretty sizeable harvest for your birthday
amazing job friend, theyre gonna light up like Christmas trees
Thanks Shadow
Last watering was the last flush. But I gave noticed a explosive growth of fungus gnats. I haven't put any diatomaceus earth on since flower and am not going to because im not smoking that.
But I put in my yellow sticky traps and will keep an eye on it. They say drying it out will help so we will see what happens.
try dialing back either the water or frequency i did my g.g n o.g with common issue n worked for me was doing a lil over half a gallon of water every 2 days once there gone give it a couple more days to die off good air circulation will help too
I just wanna take a big bite out of it. 😂
I know right!
ok will put in my notes thank you
😆👍
Just about there. These are top bud pics. Did not get bottom bud photos.
I seen freenugs n want what’s owed to me 🤣
🤣
The anticipation!
lol
Oh my grond I know
Looks like your will finish a touch before mine those trichomes are looking absolutely fantastic 😍
do you use any app for these pictures? or is your phone just good lol can’t seem to get clear pictures of my trichomes
thanks, I keep drooling just looking at them
I have a cheap digital microscope i got off amazon for 30$ i also have a macro lens that helps me take really insane photos but I have to have the wife take those because my hand is not steady
🤣 free nugz..ya
your first tip, your soil is to hot. which means it has too many nutrients in it for the size of your plant. your leaf tips will burn is the first signs. if you can mix in some plain soil or peat moss that would help.
ok thank you!! the tips of the leaves looked like that when I got the plant. I just repotted it two days ago into the new bucket with Mother Earth Groundswell Soil. No nutrients were given by my own hand. But I will make sure to keep an eye out for this!!!!
rt on, we are all here to help one another. 🍀
Thanks!! happy to have some good advice so quick!!!!
