Grow Timeline (23 updates)
I soaked the seeds in Spark as directed, and then, just plunked them about 1/2 inch under the loose soil, gave a little watering, popped on the cloches, and we wait...
The wife was so tickled about ticking off the neighbor she spent about an hour picking out the strains!
Been giving the girls a few splashes of water here and there when I go by and see they are getting a bit drier than they should be. Really have not been keeping to close of track, just playing it loose with them right now.
.
I found a case of these big ass taps in the basement. I knew my FIL worked on some crazy projects in that basement workshop???
Been dribbling distilled water on the cloches every couple of hours, except from 3:30 to about 16:00, work...
When I got home, I found little miss Blue Dream Auto had popped out of the soil. Gave them enough dribbles of water over the cloches to adequately moisten the soil. Let's root for Super Lemon Haze Auto to pop out tomorrow!
well the SLH Auto finally popped, of course it was like a fall day and overcast as well. put the seedling light rack over them for a couple of hours to give them a hand. sprinkled a little bit of water on them, gave them each a shot of Mist... Tomorrow is supposed to be super sunny so...
Blue Dream Auto and the random unidentified seedling are taking off. The Duper Lemon Haze Auto got one of its cotyledons caught in the dirt, amd it ripped off. One true leaf has popped with the one cottyldon, been giving her Foop Mist once or twice a day to make up for the lost leaf. Let's see what she turns into!
Added some supplemental lights for the tree shade in the evening.
Super Lemon Haze Auto is pulling through with her one cotylden and single true leaf. Foop Mist has been doing the thing and giving her the nutes she needs to pull through. Blu Dream Auto and her hitchhiker are loving the Mist as well and looking very healthy!
We dis however, decided to pop an extra SLH seed as a backup, or heck a third outdoor...
well just been giving them a light Si, CalMag w/nitro whenever the soil looks drying. the SLH is still very small with only one leaf. still getting her nutes via Foop Mist. Let's see what she ends up doing!
She may be tiny now... but trust me from experience... SLH leans very much on it's Silver Haze Sativa ancestry come flower. Expect 300-400% stretch in optimal conditions.
Now that's a bot of a stretch! π I am a little nervous with her loosing a cotylden when she popped from the soil. Thanks for the reassurance that she is going to be fine. Her backup, which i was going to run never popped. Lightwarrior does not seem to be a good seed starter for me. I had better luck with the Happy Frog...
use a plug like Root Riot to start your seeds in. soak them but not to where they are dripping. put your seed inside and put in your soil. happy frog is a good seed starter soil. you can water the plug directly with a syringe or baster. the plug will change colors when itβs dry so you can tell the difference.
Ahh, thank you, so there are decent alternatives to jiffy pots. nice, I am going to look for some.
I hate the jiffy cubes. Iβve killed more seeds in those than I like to admit.
I guess I am all in... I just ordered the hundy pak on Amazon! π€¦ββοΈ
Double comment erase function activated! π€£
nice! I know you will like them
So far, I like them a lot. Makes it easy for transplanting the Autoflowers from the seed starting trays to the pots.
yea it makes a world of difference. once I started using them I havenβt gone back to any other methods.
So the semi-secret (who am I kidding, they know! π) Outdoor grow continues. Both girls are doing quite well. giving them the foop seedling mix with a little extra kicker. As small as the Super Lemon Haze Auto is she is throwing what looks to be a third node. I mean, I know my vision is shot, but...
Are you planning on running the entire FOOP line?
Yes, I have enough of it. Pretty much every product except the clone stuff is in my house somewhere. The Mist really does perform quite well. The Bloom is what is making me a little nervous, as i have had issues in the past. I am adding to it with some of the TPS additives, as Foop does not make their own CalMag, or Si.
I got the starter kit chilling in my cabinet. -Veg1&2 -Bloom1&2 -sweetner I'll be watching to see your results.
I have Azomite, oyster shells and other dry amendments I can use to suppliment the lack of Si and Cal-Mag.
dry amendments are pretty good, Just make sure you get a small CalMag for emergencies, and some Epsom salts... Check out my other grows. I have been using Foop since the beginning.
Dry amendments are great. if I had to make a choice between dry or teas... I'd take dry π― of the time. You can always brew teas from dry amendments. Plus you get more bang for the buck not having to pay for all that water weight on shipping. Highly recommend Down To Earth π Line. I'm getting prepped to do a side by side nute comparison using clones in the same soil / pH & environment. Be awesome if it performs just as good. Because it's relatively cheap. Foop vs FF vs DTE
definitely sounds like it's going to be an interesting comparison. I wonder who comes out on top?
I will report back lol
Let's just say the Blue Dream Autoflower is loving like in the great outdoors. Super Lemon Haze Autoflower is catching up, super slow like, but i can see ot in her! Both plants have recieved 2 Foop Seedling mix waterings, approximately 1 pint per watering. Tonight they get the full effect of the Hurricane Erin brush by. They can take it!!!
So last night we had some long and gentle rains, so I watered them with Si, CalMag +N until runoff so as to not have the soil completely wiped of nutes.
We are expecting Gale force winds tomorrow with heavy downpours so we moved them into the newly vacated 2 x 4 for safe keeping, as we will be away tomorrow...

I wanted to putt them back outside today, but it is a straight up deluge out there!

And now the bug killing!!!
So the girls were supposed to go back outside today. We found evidence of a bug last night. Sprayed with Captain Jacks Incecticidal last night. Today, my wife, found the Leaf Hopper, and I found a Pink Stripped Oakwork Moth Caterpillar which is the larvae stage of the Anisota Virginiensis Moth. So we stepped it up with a soaking of Capatain Jacks Insecticidal Soap as well this afternoon. As it is raining pretty heavily still here, we decided to keep them in for one more night, so as all the insecticidal nukes get to do their job. Then this week I will super deep clean the tent to be ready for the Bruce Banner Auto and the Fat Bastardl Auto seeds to move into once they pop...
So they seem to be very mildy burned. The new growth exhibited signs first with very green leaves, with mild dedormations, and slightly burned tipity tips. Probably from too much Nitogen in the CalMag Complete mixed with the Foop Veg. Switched to the CalMag OAC for now. Have watered with Dehumidifier water with Si and CalMag OAC added which pH'd itself to 6.6ish for the second time since the last Foop Veg feeding.
Also no more signs of pests of any kind so far...
Been feeding an RO lightly buffered waterings, Si and CalMag OAC only, since the nute burn, they are doing pretty well. Very early signs of flower. These being autoflowers, I am going to give them another feeding of the Foop Veg mix tomorrow, to help them with the stretch they are about to go into. Then I will transition to a full Foop Bloom feed, with the added CalMag...
Well its been over 2 days of rain, so i won't be feeding them quite yet. They are definitely transitioned to flower. You can smell them already if you get up close. pruned the lower 2 branches of each plant and them topped up the soil that had settled with some more Happy Frog. Probably will wait till Monday to give them a proper bloom feed...
Gave each of the girls about a gallon of Foop Bloom week 2 ratios. Watered until I got a little runoff. First chance I have gotten to give them nutrients that will stick around with all the little on and off rain we have been getting. Somehow we are still in a water reduction advisory for our area. Been using Dehum water for all the plants in the house anyways...
Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of the spots. We noticed some white spotting on the Super Lemon Haze Auto. its early as it was easy to just brush off with my fingers. I promptly treated the whole plant with H2O2 in a spray bottle and made sure I got it all over the leaves, top and bottom sides as well as the stalks. Going to monitor her very, very, closely over the next week. Blue Dream Auto, 1 foot away, completely untouched by Powdery Mildew, and no more caterpillars since the first sighting and spraying.
the girls are looking really good. The powdery mildew never came back on the Super Lemon Haze after here H2O2 dousing. Gave them a half strength week 2 bloom feed with a little CalMag and Signal added in for bud development.
Starting to wonder if these girls will finish before it gets too cold here in CT!
Sorry I forgot pics, so here's some super old memes from way back in the day... π
π΄ββ οΈ
good jope nice setup lol π π scgrogg dogggg
you ain't scrogin' unless your in the middle of it! π
So due to the heavy rains, freezing temps... we had to move her into the garage. Pardon the mess, when we moved in, you couldn't even walk in there.
All that we have available is the T5 grow lights, so I hope its enough to finish her off. If its not, I would have lost it anyways... I learned that saliva autos still need to be planted earlier in the season π€£
.
One point of curiosity, feeding the 2 plants indoors the same way I have been feeding outdoors. Why are my outdoor looking so great, while my indoor seem to be suffering???
Any ideas folks?
Sorry guys, I really checked out of the interwebs for a while there. Some reason all this social media was giving me some serious anxiety.
Unfortunately neither outdoor plants made it. The powdery mildew on the Super Lemon Haze, and the Vlue Dream Auto didnt have enough time to finish before she froze a couple times... lessons learned for next year, end of July is way to late for even Autoflowers outdoors in Southern New England...
Ah still plenty of time to transplant to a new home. Good that you caught it early.
I am so glad I didn't transplant. it turns out its a random! The other seed came up. 'bout to post it...
