Grow Timeline (19 updates)
Roots were growing out the bottom of the plastic container they were in so I decided to transplant before the roots got longer out of the plastic seedling.
tray. I wanted to wait till the plants were bigger
Using general hydroponics nutes, fed just 1L of 6.1ph 1/4 of recommended strength around 300 ppm. The hpcc retains water alot longer than just coco coir
I use solo cups, and wait till roots are solid white before I up size. otherwise they struggle in those big containers.
keep it hot and humid in tent and they will π day time 80 degrees and 85-90 RH. lower at night by 10
I know solo cups are the way to go thought I would try this stupid humidity seedling tray and the small hole in the bottom got filled with roots, had to very carefully get the roots out, so a lesson learned. I think your comment was good next grow for sure going with solo cups
I'm keeping the temp @ 79-81 the ac infinity humidifier set outside the tent drops the kpa to .6 when I have it @ .9 then the humidity goes up so my inline fan drops the humidity but drops the temperature a few degrees then the spider farmer heater kicks on but only a couple degree fluctuating temps and kpa
I did keep the temp around 79-80 didn't go as high on RH I went with the AC infinity humidifier kpa setting but I'm not 100% sure I got the leaf temp offset accurate but the RH fluctuated between 70-80 with the kpa showing between 0.6 and 0.85
Preparing next feeding after yesterday's light feeding the plants got a little darker I think they were hungry the medium was a little dry
did your humidifier issues ever stabilize?
Still having problems with the spider farmer heater, the thing has a mind of its own, thankfully I set the inline fan to exhaust over 85Β°F cause I had it set to 77Β° and the heater doesn't want to shut off and the deadband is as low as it goes. I have to unplug it and ug back in for it to shut off. it's low humidity here so the heater drops the RH but the AC humidifier is really good at keeping the VPD right thankfully
I got the AC infinity heater was a life saver in winter . I just took it out . u have to raise the humidifier cause the air is dry from heaters
This info is for a feeding on 4-30 pictures are today 5-02. I made 4L's for 1L each but only used 0.5L of nutrient water per plant.
The camera lighting is off I think cause the grow light. They are darker green to the eye. I put an inch of perlite on the bottom of each grow bag the back left one I messed up and didn't get just perlite in the bottom inch, that might explain why that grow bag is heavier and the plant was lighter in color a few days ago with a very slight droop of her first leaves
how early did u give them nutrients? I'm kinda new I got three auto going now still n the seedling stage
7 days from sprouting 0.25 liters water with 1.8ml of the General Hydroponics flora series. They are growing in a soilless medium though, I'm following Mr Grow it's "7 steps to grow cannabis" book for coco coir recommendations. For soil depending on what nutrients are in it he recommends waiting 20-40 days from sprouting to add nutrients. The book is very basic. I did watch Ribby from Green Magic feed plain water for over a month in soilless Promix HP and the plants were fine but I decided to follow Mr Grow It's book cause the leaves were really light green. Hope that helps
The 1.8ml each of the 3 part General Hydroponics was for 1 liter of water, around 300ppm I have a new EC meter coming so not sure what the EC was
I fed 0.5 Liters not 0.25Liters 7 days after sprouting for the first feeding
Dank, you can foliar spray them with light nutrients, if you did not want to add to your soil
I'm hoping watering is the problem, The medium was very dry, only 1 plant is drooping this bad. I decided to water till runoff to see it. it took 4L to do cause 5gal bag. Fed silca, cal mag, and 3 part General Hydroponics flora notes. 6.0ph/500ppm runoff was 6.1ph/700ppm.
mine go to drooping once they come from outside and go under lights which are on veg setting
that is super high ppm for that stage, she may be choking,
I know I plan on just RO water 6.0 pH next watering, it kinda scared me, somehow she snapped out of it and is looking healthy now
thank you for your service π check out Romulan Genetics the breeder is also a veteran marine corps . I think he does discountβs & his gear is fire π₯
use clear plastic cups poke a couple of small pinholes in bottom cup then flip it over & put on top of plants to get the humidity up . seedlings have some nutrients stored in them . but if u want do a 500ml container with water .leave water out with no cap for 24 hours unless u have filtered water. get that chlorine out . mix a very small amount of just base nutes . or u can do it in spray misting bottles.
nice ππ» what does #ZY94070 mean? π
Those are markers for DNA male female sewing from Farmer Freeman, I should have the results back really soon I wanted to know early if I had any males
It's a DNA male/female test marker from Farmer Freeman
The white fan thing from walmart.com is actually pretty cool for 40 bucks, it isn't actually AC it's a mini swamp cooler it will actually drop my 3x3 tent from 81f to 74f in like 10 minutes, the only draw is it takes a liter of water every few hours
Bro that's all I've ever used in like 20+ years of growing... way to voy
awesomeness π π π im going to buy one for those super hot days... an AUX ac unit. can you fill the unit while it's running? ive used a 2L water bottle with a drip feed irrigation line to feed my humidifier before π π€£
I'm seeing low nitrogen and calcium. Some rust colored spotting on leaves directly exposed to light and newly grown leaves. I should have added cal/mag last watering especially since I'm using RO water. I think lowered my light to much I had it at 28" which I saw it work with other people yesterday I lowered it to 18" which spider farmer recommends and I think it burned some of the leaves so I raised it back up, hopefully not to much damage
The Farmer Freeman DNA test was worth it unfortunately two males both Pineapple Express they were free seeds from Jerry at JustCannabisSeed.com for being a Veteran. I tested the feminized MasterKush from Sensi seeds just to be safe and it's female.
I think I would have grown to preflower anyway. just to make sure. what's the cost on that if you don't mind me asking?
$110 for 10 tests includes a paid priority mail return envelope, took 5 days from mailing for test results. Just mail 1 inch leaf sample, which I was a little nervous about cause I actually mailed Cannabis through the federal mail system which is still illegal but had no problems
$110 for 10 tests includes a paid priority mail return envelope, took 5 days from mailing for test results. Just mail 1 inch leaf sample, which I was a little nervous about cause I actually mailed Cannabis through the federal mail system which is still illegal but had no problems. One negative is it can't detect hermaphrodites. You can buy single tests for around $10 I do recommend paying for priority 2 day shipping cause I've had letters take weeks in the mail
that's not terrible price. what's that? I didnt hear you. what's the problem with mailing your hemp π
You could easily say it's hemp there's probably only trace amounts of thc if any it would test the same as hemp this young
Yesterday I tested some runoff I noticed in the tray it read like 4000 something ppm and 9 something EC and I was like holy shit I've been pushing nutes really high on purpose so I flushed each plant with 4 liters of RO water 6.0 pH, almost 0 ppm. I cleaned the run off tray and the runoff was only around 400 ppm / 1.2 EC, 6.2 ph, it's high but not insanely high. I think the runoff I tested had been building up in the dirty tray. As a result of flushing the plants are showing overwatering stress
What are the mushrooms?
They are ceramic I got them at a Veteran thrift store
I thought maybe they helped with the grow somehow lol
3rd week of medium feed from General Hydroponics feeding chart
checking in on ya, just a suggestion, lower your ec to .6-.8. your plant is showing signs of too much food. twisting of new growth and they stay small and bushy. I know a couple of growers that use GH and they say they only use their micro and bloom, say they donβt need to use grow. you may want to research. save you some money anyway cheers π»
I thought it was really high to and kinda thought it might burn the plants, definitely have to lower the EC/ppm
Do you think the silica and cal mag added are raising the EC to much also? Just adding 4ml of cal mag to 4 L of RO water adds .55 ec / 300ppm
anything you have in your water that isnβt pure water adds to ec. cal mag and silica can raise ph also. when I add with those I let them sit for a day before I ph them. check the ec of just your water, if thatβs high your ec is going to be really high when you add nutrients. normal range for water ec is around 425-450 EC you can get cheap filters that really help not RO but hose filters.
The tap water is really bad in Northern Minnesota becauseof mining, I've been using the 5 gallon jugs from the store that are around 40 ppm / 0.1 ec when you get them. This is the first time I've grown using only synthetics indoors I'm from Hawaii where you can grow outside with having to do very little so I'm learning alot growing inside in low temperatures and really low humidity here. But yeah thank you Six, I noticed you help alot of growers out I really appreciate the knowledge you share, I just fed them and cut everything in half so hopefully that helps
knowledge should be shared, makes for better weed and friends π€
nice I just grew out 2 pineapple express autos. would have been 3 but the last one never made it past germination, never grew water leaves it was just a stem poking out the soil lol the 2nd pineapple ended up with some bud rot but was able to save 90% of it by harvesting that day. and the 1st pineapple has been curing almost 2 weeks now and is straight fire
One didn't sprout for me, I've heard from a few people now they had problems with pineapple express sprouting and germination
