Grow Timeline (41 updates)
I am definitely leaning towards some LST with topping involved this time around. Germinating the seeds tomorrow, 4/20 π€
Running Fox Farms Happy Frog and Ocean Forest 50/50 Layer in 7 gallon Fabric Pots. Running Foop Nutes with some soil amending to avoid CalMag and micro nutrient deficiencies again for about a week now.
BBMR popped today, transfered her into my expensive solo cup replacements. Fox Farm Light Warrior mix watered with enogh filtered PH 6.3 water with 5mg of Si dissolved and stabilized. Then I squeeze out the remnants of the moisture concoction in the paper towel to water the seed in with the humidity dome on top.
Placed the LSD back in the bag and set for another day or two to finish popping.
The seedlings in the seed starter setup are my marigolds to keep my babies company in the 7 gallon pots.
was going to do a 5 gallon of lavender in the middle, but I forgot about the 4-8 week stratification process. They are in the fridge now. May add them later on.
I have amended the Fox Farm HF/OF half and half with dolomite lime. Si and AG trace minerals. I have Epsom Salts and about 100lbs of dolomite lime on standby for top dressing!!! π€£
Any recommendations appreciated. Stash and Smash you are always spot on so...
Blackberry Moonrocks doing pretty well. Taking off the humidity dome as I think that is why she is stretching. When I up pot to the 7 Gallon we are just going to settle her in a little deeper is all. The LSD has a very tiny taproot for the amount of germination time, please correct me if I am wrong... I decided to put her into a starter pot with humidity dome, using light warrior seed starting mix again. Everybody please, fingers crossed for the 4/20 girls.
Marigolds are doing bonkers BTY π
So the second LSD seed is just not popping. going to keep her on the heat mat anyways for a couple more days. Checked Jorge's Encyclopedia. Did the matchbox scarification trick and will be soaking in water until it sinks or it's been 24 hours. BBMR is doing pretty well. let her dry back before watering today with the most bottle around the edges. 1qt pH 6.4 water with a dash of silicone dioxide. If it dries out by tomorrow I will be giving her the first Foop seedling feeding. so far all she has received is a bit of Germ Genie, Bug Blaster, and Foop Mist.
LSD attempt #3 was sitting on the bottom of the shot glass this afternoon, so she went into paper towels and into the plates which are on a heat mat in the tent nest to her tent mate Blackberry Moonrocks who is doing very well since her first Foop feeding first thing this morning. LSD #2 had still not even began to bulge. I placed her in soil, why not, in a seedling tray of Cut Flowers to see if she decides to change her mind and join the world. Marigolds are chugging along nicely as well ..
Checked on the 3rd LSD seed that I have attempted to germinated, and she is pooping like a teenager at an 80s High School dance!
Tossed her into some FF Light Warrior and put her next to the Blackberry Moonrocks, who in about a week will go into the 7gal bag. watered everyone with the most bottle, so no idea how much, just till a trickle at the bottoms!
Threw this together for the T5 Linear grow Lights I ordered. I need something to move the Marigolds under while the Cut Flowers go into the tent. a few of the marigolds will find their way into the 7gals with the girls once they have established themselves in them.
when the move to the basement comes, hopefully well before winter sets in, I will just buy a wire reach shelf for just over seedling stage, as well as some photo girls eventually to begin a hunt for a good mother.
this morning she had just broken through the soil. I gave her about 6 spritzes of the Foop Seedling Mix, and she is already shooting for the sky!
BBMR seems a tiny bit sad, I am pretty sure it's from over watering. I should have let the pot dry back a little more....
woke up to a low water alarm at 12:13am
2 hours later I had smoked 2 bowls and had rearranged the tent, transplanted Blackberry Moonrocks and set up little LSD on top of her final dirt spot. Think BBMR may have begun to flower at 7" tall. Looks like I may get my first Autoflower Lollipop!
whatcha got growing in the middle?
Those are my Marigolds. those will be the ones I cull to go under the girls to keep them company. the rest will go with the ones under the rickety assed seedling light setup I made. behind those are some cut flowers for making bouquets for the wife to set out on the kitchen island before she gets home, another idea was when I get the bigger tent, to grow enough to fill her H3 up while she is at work. I have inside help for that, only cost me 3 ounces... π I was going to pop a bunch of lavender for a field of it at the end of the driveway, but I forgot to stratify it, so it's in the fridge now .. π€¦
Sorry I disappeared for a few days, the phone bit the dust. Unfortunately I was forced to accept my wife's offer of a new Ultra!
THE PAIN IS REAL ! ! !
new AI is pretty sweet though...
I believe, the other day, when I fed them, that i mixed up my Bloom and my Veg mixes.
Chatted with our fine AI for a little bit and it confirmed my suspicions. I am a complete bafoon, That is definitely a nitrogen overload to the Blackberry Moonrocks, and the LSD has definitely got a little nute burn going on. She has though exploded in growth anyways. Nothing is going to hold this little autoflower that could... Blackberry Moonrocks, I'm sorry, hopefully you recover...
Guess I'm going to have to keep doing this till I get it right...
The Blackberry Moonrocks leaves are getting a very deep green, but she is still praying. This BBMR Auto definitely looks very different than others I see out there, with the deep green and 3 lingered leaves.
LSD Auto is taking the heavy dose of Bloom nutes she accidentally received very well. there is some serious leaf curling, but man is she stretching.
Been doing life things so sorry for the absence. I will try to fill in the gap as we move along here.
Girls are doing pretty well. Both in bloom and getting heavy feedings. On Tuesday we gave them a pretty robust feeding, which they seemed at first to take well. Both recieved 2 gallons of Foop Bloom week 4 with 1.5ml Si and 1.5ml CalMag that is added to all RO water at this point for pretty much all outdoor potted and indoor plants before pH isadjusted. LSD, on the left, 4 weeksish younger, been taking everything we can throw at her. She is pretty big from what I understand for an LSD Auto, you all see the pics with the sticks, let me know, I always think I'm doing them wrong... π
So LSD is showing signs of CalMag deficiency. Foliar feedings, daily, of TPS CalMag OAC has definitely slowed the progression. Also noticing a minor possible potassium? issue with the red stems on both strains. ordered some TPS Signal, and some TPS Potasium Sulfate, just in case. We, after consulting Gemini Pro, Chat GPT, and compared all of that against Grow Guides AI advice (PAY for it people, its worth it!) added 1.5ml of CalMag to the reservoirs of each plant, about a gallon in each wicking base. Will consider flushing if the ppm and ecc of the reservoirs are geeked out...
So I decided to take the girls outside to play, and to flush them both. Blackberry Moonrocks got a gentle misting till about 5 min of runoff with pH 6.1 Dehumidifier water, no buffer. I watered LSD the same, then repeated about 45 min later. About an hour later I then flushed her with about 4 gallons of pH 6.1 RO water, no buffer topping the grow bag off until the whole bucket was run through. We let the girls enjoy about 5 more hours of this splendid June sun, then back into the tent. I was surprised at how light the pots had gotten being outside today with high around 85Β°F and no wind with about 75% RH to the same temps and RH throughout the late morning til early evening, with a gentle breeze throughout. They were definitely praying has as I whispered sweet nothings to them while holding them in my embrace, gently telling them of their beautiful murder day!

PS. I cleaned the tent today.
Cleaned.
Clean your S**T people!
This is a public service message brought to you by the Fed.Up.With.The.Mess Growers.World.Wide.Associated
We now return you to your regularly scheduled, in progress, programming.
My tent is clean but Iβll do a detailed cleaning in between grows. yours is nice by the way π
Thank you, I really aim to keep a clean grow. I, so far have not had pests or mold/mildew. I credit that to excessive cleanliness and excessive airflow! I usually save the big cleans for between grows, but the wife and I were in cleaning mode, and the girls got to go out to play... π
Feed both of the girls this week. Had to up the potassium a little bit both are feeding pretty heavy, just a little less water than last grow. Weather is supposed to be pretty overcast most of the day, was wanting to put them outside in the sun, clean up the tent, and mix up a new batch of nutes for when the pots dry back enough... have to rethink that idea if the weather forecast holds.
I was sitting there painting, looking at the girls as I contemplated my next color choice. I saw how they were in definitely need of nutes, yet not yet ready to be watered. You shouldn't foliar spray when in flower, bud rot, yadda, yadda, what about gently painting the nute solution on, ot won't run i to the bud if you exercise control. I did this for a couple of days in a row, the leaves definitely showed a big improvement. They had greeted up quite a bit. Now I know hand painting nutes on 2 plants was time consuming for a few days, so I can only imaging 6 or 8 or 12. Well I guess this is one of the ways to make $2000 an ounce weed. Someone call Sarah Silvermann, I got some painted weed.
Just gotta remember not to lick the nutes. They definitely do not taste as good as Ultramarine Blue, or Gore Red!
These poor girls. This grow is just full of mistakes. I was in such a rush to get them fed and on to all the projects we have going on, I forgot to pH the water π«£
Flushed them with 2 gallons 6.5ish pH each yesterday. Today I fed them a weak Si, CalMag, Potassium, and Micros solution, and will feed them a full Bloom mix tomorrow.
Gave the girls a light feeding and some Epsom salts. also did a 180 with each girl. Buds on the LSD Autoflower are coming along nicely, a lot of blues and purples in her flowers. Blackberry Moonrocks Autoflower's main cola is still basically the same height with several other nodes doubling her or at least matching her. the bud structure is different than I've seen before, main cola still seems extremely large. The rest of the buds have that same bud structure, but are beginning to really put on some weight. had to support several of the buds already.
Epsom salt never heard of that one .what kind of nutrition u get from that ?
you know, Salts & Peppers now! "Push It!" π€ΌββοΈ π€£π€£π€£
You get magnesium, which helps vastly with Calcium uptake. If you are having a serious Calcium deficiency a little extra, no more than a tablespoon per pot disolv3d completely in water, will aid in Calcium uptake rapidly.
lol ok I was being honest I didn't know what it did but thanks
I tend to overexplain... my wife is working on it! π€
Look now, I have really done these girls dirty. multiple power outages, fixed, temperatures, working, humidity, semi controlled, multiple emergency flushes, mixed up nutes, wrong nutes, Forgot to pH the water, that was super bad, over dried out a couple of times. left outside overnight one night. π«£π€«π€¨π₯Ίπ
These girls hardly have any leaves left, they are still stacking, they want to be big, beautiful, delicious nugs!
I really hope the BBMR is ready for my son's wedding in early September!
Hey at least the buds are still looking good!!
By the time you dry and cure it will still be better than most stuff you can find in a dispo. You can also always make some bubble hash out of it if the flower falls below you QA level of acceptable to smoke. Just keep on growing growmie πͺ
Oh they are still stacking on as well. The main cola on the LSD has put on about 30% more weight, the Blackberry Moonrocks though, are stacking slow with that weird curly bud, almost reminds me of a succulent my mother grew for a couple decades π€
Yeah, the same thing happened on the last grow, I panicked, chopped about 3 weeks toi early. It was still way better than CT dispo weed. my friends kept coming back looking for more, they are all waiting on the new grow, told them if they want more, buy my 5x5 setup!!! π I do think the Foop just doesn't have what it takes in Bloom. Veg is stellar. Mist is stellar, biochar is stellar, garden is stellar, bloom... meh!
What do you mean? when your plants turn to flower they don't do so well?
I am having a lot of problems with potassium, calcium, and magnesium. I have added the required CalMag supplement to the Foop Bloom, bit they just dont seem to respond well to the Foop Bloom very much at all...
Hace you checked the EC or Ph of your run off to see if you have a lockout problem?
I gave a little Epsom salts, and the problem has gone away. They have stacked on about 30% more bud density since Saturday now...
I gave a little Epsom salts, and the problem has gone away. They have stacked on about 30% more bud density since Saturday now...I never really check ecc or ppm of runoff. once in a while I will check the pH. Its always around 6.5 to 6.8.
That's a perfect Ph range!!
I honestly dont do anymore than mix my nutes, pH it to 6.2 to 6.4 as Foop recommends. when using no Foop i pH anywhere from .5.8 to 6.8 ... I put a pinch of one microbe/mycorrhizae brand or another, to keep it teeming with variety, and gently water it in until a drip or 2 from the bottom comes out.
So we have of course given another feeding Foop / TPS blend seems to be working pretty well. I am giving both nutrient mixes the max dosage amounts, so in reality these girls are now sucking down double the maximum recommended Nute dosages π«£π€
Did notice an occasional, tiny, flying, little bug pop up from the soil. There is absolutely nothing on the plants anywhere. Ordered some sticky traps amd Captain Jacks to be here tomorrow...
May have found inspiration for the Tyranids from the Leviathon boxed set... Just a side note, Tyranids gotta like canna bio mass too!!! π€£
Ah I see you too have a habit of collecting expensive hobbies π Nothing beats a day of wargamming and smoking some quality herb. A tyranid army with a Canna paint scheme sounds awesome.... Even if they are filthy xenosπ.
Well you can come try to eradicate these filthy zenos, but the emperors might will be crushed under the untold swarms! π€£ I have not played in decades, lost all my stuff to a flood back then. a few years ago, my wife bought me everything to get started again. since, I just collect random models to paint. Yeah, I habe an expensive hobby, hobby! π€
Gotta love a wife that supports your hobbies instead of complaining about them π
There was much complaining about the weed tent! π She is coming around though, slowly, she is replacing alcohol with cannabis, a little at a time...
BBMR is cloudy everywhere with about 5 to 10% amber showing. Sorry I couldn't hold the camera steady enough to get good pics. We are going to transfer her into the dry tent to give her a couple days of darkness before we chop and hang her on the fancy new carousel we got to celebrate murderin' time!
LSD is continuing to stack on and take the extreme nute doses she has been getting with every watering.
Pests are pretty much gone, a couple jumped up out of the frigid soil to get trapped on stickys!
On Monday when she got chopped amd put into the dry tent, the humidity was insane. I added the humidifier, well, because. With work and everything being so hectic...
Least of all to say, they are definitely DRY!
I added a banana peel to the jar after the picks π€
.
p.s. The steel bowl weighs 7.4oz
LSD is still a couple weeks out, I'm thinking. Will post picks of here over the weekend.
congrats! I just got done listening to the newest episode of the James Loud Poscast with the guys from Budularo. they talked almost the entire episode about breeding specifically for pearling plants, which is what it looks like you have there. itβs an interesting listen if you like podcasts.
I wish I had the time. Although I am one of the few who is allowed a phone in our plant, we are not allowed headphones...
alright, alright, I'm watching it now... π
haha ok. I like listening to James loud. he has a lot of interesting guests. and after listening to that podcast I want to try some pearls.
That was very interesting about the long flowering. Super weird it would show up in an auto I would think, with the shortened life cycle?
I will have to let tou know how tje pearls smoke after cure...
I guess it depends on the lineage of the auto. must have some pearling ancestors. but the 18 week flower period just sounds crazy to me for some of their plants
sounds good!
So back indoors, we have just the LSD all by herself... π’
Been slowly scaling down nutes as per schedule. She is still getting a pretty monster dose for the chart though. I've also started to notice those sparkles when she thinks I'm not looking π and they are getting quite "shiny"...
Pretty much every bud is benefiting from being strung up at this point. So that's a happy sign for sure. ππ³
So I am going to start her 3 days of darkness before I harvest her on Thursday.
LMAO. Can you make it sound more twizted?
After the cure, I will twirl in the ash and smoke of her rotted corpse!
After murdering her, he's going to smoke her dried ovaries...
You are correct... and well played!
congrats!
Thanks... Tomorrow morning...
I've been wanting to try stabbing the stalk to induce stress causing trichome protective mode, have u heard of doing that a few days before harvest
I actually have heard of it. It is supposed to trigger a chemical response in the plant to push seed production, which we have conveniently deprived, so, super trichomes... . I am weary of performing that level of distress to the plant, though. I'm kind of in the school of the plants know, kinda, what's going on.... Thats just my sentimental, ancient, thinking, though! π€
pulled about 3.5 ounces from the LSD. She sure took her time drying, which is fine by me.
Got the half pound CVault to try out. going to follow the directions, for once, and do the 30 day, 5 day burp and forget it, cure that Boveda says to do with the humidity pouch. We wait, we see... π patience... π patience... π‘
nice nugs bro
Thank you. probably the most dense buds I've gotten yet. Still trying to get that environment dialed in just right...
So, day stoning, listening to slaps, thinking about the spare tire compartment amp rack I want to build in the Passat, got me to thinking, I've done tons of aki boat and fishing boat sound system installs, and not to brag, I built some systems that slapped for over a mile across the still morning waters of a calm Long Island Sound day, just the haze of breaking dawn, the smell of salt air, the lapping of the water upon the hull. AND then BOOM the thunder of explosive bass and clarity of sound the dolphins literally danced in the wash of the sound of the underwear speakers installed in the through hulls... OF that's possible in an extremely corrosive salt water environment, π€ what can we do with our grow tents? Vivosun? A/C Infinity? Gorilla?? whoever... You heard the idea here first .. anyone else have any Thoughts????
I'm thinking if I'm on the water the last thing I want to listen to is your music. you put it on and have a right to listen to it, but why is it ok for you to force everyone else to listen to it? not trying to be rude, just genuinely curious as to why people do that.
bro, it's a big ocean, that's the great part about having a boat, don't like your neighbors, pull up anchor and move. also, politely ask, I will turn it down, I'm not the jerk that cuts your fishing line with my props out in the middle of the race when blues or stipes or tuna are hitting. but sometimes, in certain situations, loud music is appropriate and fun, trust,I have gone out many a morning, no pole, no direction, just a coffee, a joint, and a sandwich, just sit, take the time to hear the music of nature. true peace. Also, do a little research into music and marine mammals. they do truly love it, their intelligence recognizes and even has favourites. so when your out there, there are a plethora of only marginally, that is debatable, less intelligent species than us, that can only be given that enjoyment by us. Try it. down in the keys are a couple, they go out blast the music underwater and wow. the sea life really enjoys it, seeks it out...
no hate here, just curious, as it was something I ran into the other day. went hiking, enjoying nature to then have someone blast music in the woods for the last 2 miles of my hike. as for animals enjoying it, id say that's subjective. they can't tell us they enjoy it. investigation doesn't necessarily mean enjoyment. maybe they recognize it because they hate it. who knows. I also haven't read anything about it so that's just my uneducated devils advocating.
I do agree that people out there blasting music when you are trying to enjoy nature can be a huge detriment to that enjoyment, but for some that silence is maddening in other ways unfortunately. we all have to learn that we all enjoy things differently. I know that people will say just put headphones in or some such. Sometimes you just need to feel the music. I tell you, if you ever get a chance to go out and go to a big raft up, you'll be loving the music ..
