Grow Timeline (42 updates)

I'm not super happy with rocket seeds genetics but i also did make a bunch of mistakes at the beginning. I've lost a few seedlings along the way but my Future #1 pulled through and is looking super good, short and bushy. the Banana Nerds has 1 surviving reject that just won't die so I decided to keep it. plus I started another Banana nerds seed. Now that GMO was given to me from a friend (from Premier cultivatiars seeds) he had it in a small 1gal pot with soil. i soaked the soil off and transplanted it into the hydro, it's been amazing and can't wait to fill the tent with it!!!

it's been a bit of a rough first grow back at it, is think my seeds we not the best. however it could of just been a few rookie mistakes.
My Future #1 in the back left was supposed to be a 5-8' tall plant but has turned out to be a super cool bushy shorty with super close nodes. it makes it tough to scrog but I'm going for it.
the GMO beast i got from a friend I've been using every trick in the book to keep it low.
The 2x banana nerds strain seems to have had nothing but problems but I've left the 2x small plant in to see what happens.
your grow seems to be making a good comeback.heres to flowering our grows to its best
yeah thanks!!! cheers!!!
how do you like your setup? is your pump discharging into your reservoir or into the totes? do you find any nutrient hotspots?
i really like my setup yes!! I do have plumbing background and most of my materials are left overs from jobs. the water temps have been my biggest battle. currently I have 2x 800gph pumps. 1 pumps from rez to a top feed system and one goes from rez into each tote for extra circulation... after flower I plan to get 1 large pump to do both pumps jobs and redo some of my feed lines.

been also doing a bit of hydrogen peroxide mixed down in a spray bottle... I've been lightly spraying any brown roots after noticing it. it's definitely helping and doesn't kill off all the beneficial bacteria this way.
what is your water temp?
@glitch... i don't have a chiller system yet so I'm currently using 2x 4L jugs of ice... I'm swapping them out 2x day to keep my water between 18c-22c... I've hit 25c a couple of times. I believe early on it had a flow issue and had some root rot start, since then my reservoirs water quality had been excellent but some roots above the water line still showed some brown. I found the spray bottle with a bit of hydrogen peroxide was perfect to spray off any brown daily. looking much better.

heck ya they are π
100% what do you think... should I flip them Sunday or grow 1 more week?
personally, I would wait, clean them out a little more than flip them.
I'm just worried about the different sizes. the gmo is going nuts... the F1 just won't grow out... it's so bushy and has so many nodes tho. then the banana nerds are just crap lol... I was thinking of flipping and trying to do 1 more grow before temps get too hot
I was I was having the same thought about the size and maybe reorganizing them since they're not too tangled in the net yet. But I totally get itβyou've got some choices to make lol
i think I'm just going to go for it... i plan to pre veg 4 plants while these flower and hopefully get 4 monsters in there next time
run it!

Flipping tomorrow flower tonight, this is my first time defoliating this much but a friend of mine has shown me... www.growweedeasy.com and he swear by their defoliation techniques... basically full lollypop like normal but then removing every fan leaf possible. Definitely read their description before doing this yourself...
what do you guys think too much?? π€ π I guess we shall see. in 3 weeks I'll make sure to post again with updates similar to the website... LETS GO!!

I never get over how they look after a heavy defol lol so scraggly. also amazed how quick the bounce back. looking good!!
hahaha I know right!!! I normally wouldn't of taken of so much tbh, but a friend of mine showed me the growweedeasy website and their defoliation techniques... he swears by them. it was tough for a few days but even 5 days after they are getting bushy after again!! thanks @glitch... your system is looking good also!!
many years ago I was told strip indoors, leave it alone outdoors. theory being the sun is 40 million miles away, 2 extra feet isn't going to matter, where your light is 18 inches away, 2 feet is a massive and the light won't get there. that is a great website btw!!
yeah that is a good way to think about it forsure... i do feel outdoor needs a bit of a lollypop otherwise you will end up with lots of crappy lower useless buds... but otherwise I feel that's correct
100 % I'll prune for airflow outside and will get rid of popcorns, same thing I'll do with all flowers, deadhead, prune, ect for bigger flowers. all the stuff we cannabis growers do is really just common practice in gardening. growing weed made me a better gardener
yes sir! I've really grown to love gardening also... it's definitely super rewarding.

I'm have to say it was hard to look at my plants after taking so many leaves off π«.... BUT they are bouncing back nicely π π π π
i may have run my last batch of veg newtz a bit too long, signs of deficiency... I did hit them with almost full strength flower NEWTz a few days ago and they seem happy. I should see signs of deficiency correction soon.

got busy at work and life. I thought i was keeping things under control.... i did bite the bullet and bought a water chiller week 1 of flower but by then I already had it in my system... after defoliation and flip it got out of control, I've been doing water changes every couple days. using hygrozyme and a cleanser + mid level newtz....
LONG STORY SHORT: for you hydro guys... ice JUGS are NOT a viable solution.
ooohhh nooooo!!! sorry man. if anyone is going to get her back it's gonna be you.

super happy to be growing again, i think I've worked out all the bugs in my system... water quality is holding, temps holding between 17c-18c... 950ppm, 1600ec. ph ranging between 5.6-6.3 ph down every 2 days

April 2nd pics posted a day ahead so that I can share these cool pictures. I used to work in a bunch of commercial grows doing plumbing/hvac and i quickly realized how the lights would hurt my eyes and give me head aches... so I bought some cheap Amazon grow glasses and they made a huge difference. I only really use them here when I'm defoliating but they do seem to help with the pictures.
check it out
were your safety squints not working? lol jk take care of your body, you will regret not doing so when you're older. you only get one and it sucks when it breaks
hahaha π nope saftey squints did not work while in a grow room with 20+ 1000 watt Hps or other light beating down on you while doing plumbing work π in my little tent I rarely use them... but they are pretty cool π π π π I think they were only about $20 on Amazon lol
Thatβs pretty cool π π
maybe Iβll add a filter option to tone down the warmth/filter the reds a little?
yeah maybe π€ give it a shot and let's see... thank @admin
π

Hey Hydro, try spreading the canopy a bit more, get them to stretch for the light before week 5. cheers
@six thanks for the tip! it was my first grow back at it and I had a few issues right off the bat. then I was struggling with lots of different plant sizes and growth rates etc. at a point I just decided to flip and see what happens, next time we will fill that thing π―
yeah buddy π€

Some more background information for you all. No I probably didn't need a new light and yes the 2x spider farmer Sf2000s are great and all.... BUT i feel the coverage isn't great, I honestly thought about adding a 3rd but still felt like i wouldn't get coverage on 2 ends. PLUS recently for some reason I noticed twice where one of my 2 spider farmers would stay on after the light automation would end. I believe it was the RJ11 daisy chain cable that was the issue... easy fix but annoying.
a friend of mine has 2x Aglex lights for a few years now, no issues and he claims to have no problem producing over 1 lbs in a 4x4 with the light no problem. plus the coverage is amazing, absolutely fully lit up. love it.
bought on Amazon with a $150 Amazon coupon so the light was $520 after taxes
congrats on your new sun!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!!! it fills the tent so beautifully!!! π
Flushing Hard changing the rez every 3 days. using a bit of GH floraclean to flush. Trying to keep rez temps down around 14-15Β°C. Grow room Day 21/22Β°C. Grow Room Night 17-18Β°C. Hoping to bring out some more colors, the GMO-OG is showing a bit of reddish purple in the leaves but not much bud color. Fingers crossed π€ π π βΊοΈ... I read that the THC production is a defense mechanism of the plant, then I noticed a leaf π being attacked by my fan π³ π¬ and a massive THC build-up right there... SO I MAXED out my fans, raised them a bit to get better coverage and it seems to be bumping up THC production... 48hrs of darkness before chop anyday now.
advanced nutrients Bud Factor X nutrients is designed to send a signal to the plant that lets it think it being attacked by pests to beef up the resin . works great & you can use it with any other brands .

perfect π π π₯° π I'm hitting the Advanced Nutrients HARD!!! and repping Canadian made π¨π¦ π π¨π¦
they do have a starter box that has a lot of there products, unfortunately BudfactorX & tasty terps are not included. I got the box awhile ago & built on that . was around $100 US dollars . I not sure what the difference was . it has both grow & bloom 1liter bottles & the additional bottles were 500ml I like ADVN .
u Canadian . some game last night , probably one of the better come backs in NHL in a long time. u into hockey ? I donβt want to assume just cause u from Canada u like hockey. I die hard Rangers fan
yeah I did the same! loving the line up... I did notice the AN "flawless finish" was essentially the same as the GH "floraclean" but the floraclean was $11 cheaper.
haha I am Canadian yes, ive played hockey for 18 years.... now adays i coach my son. I don't follow the NHL seasons though personally π€· π I do like to support the local Vancouver Canucks but they have been known to disappoint. And the riots were an embarrassment π³ when we lost the playoffs.
I been playing since I was a kid . havenβt played or skated in years . donβt need any more broken bones .
haha agreed! coaching has been fun π
I use fox farmβs sledgehammer. they all basically do same . i also got the voodoo tabs . it has the piranha & tarantula, then i add the carbo load . problem is adds up in cost . my friend owns grow shop & i was out of rhino skin & he gave me the GH armor si 6 gallonβs for $40. Iβll retire with that . so I been using it on my veggies as well
totally!!! it adds up quick... hydroponics uses a good amount of newtz too. FYI I noticed Tirana and tarantula are essentially the same thing. so I only buy tarantula now since it has more overall Newtz innit
are my photos decent quality on your guys end? they seem good on my phone but when I look at my post they don't look so great... any opinions and advice welcome π π€
looks fire!
question, I just bought the 4 bucket dwc system , I've never grown dwc, what is the easiest way to go with nutrients? what else do I need for a good run?
@SoFloSpliff420 you have asked a very complex and in depth question π€ I have to be honest that I also consider myself a bit of a rookie so I dont have all the complex in depth answers and I dont want to steer you wrong... what you really need to do is start diving deep down the rabbit hole of information online, youtube etc... tons of different ways to do things. www.growweedeasy.com https://www.advancednutrients.com/ https://www.athenaag.com/ ^--- free download able book and other nutrient brands have tons of their information free to the public online in my opinion your most important things will be climate and water temps. then you'll need a good PH and PPM meter.. PH up and down calmag and some basic nutrients depending on how far you want to go then you can add in the extras
After 48hrs of darkness and water temps of 14C i chopped down these 4 beauty's...
Things turned out much better than expected with a few errors and issues throughout the grow. There is definitely a good amount of lower larfy bud, maybe I didn't take off enough lower bud sites in defoliation. I had my friend over to check it out AND he was surprised at how big the lower buds got though. he's never seen it like that he said lol... made me pretty stoked.lol...
All the tops are nice and dense and crystally. The lower larfy stuff still has some good structure to it and lots of THC... will probably do bubble hash and squish some Rozin from all that.
all and all SUPER STOKED!!! stay tuned for the weight in later πͺ π€ͺ π π
Ive been working on my dry trim before jar curing my crop. im amazed at the shrinkage, im a bit disappointed that the larger buds shrunk so much but all and all everything looks and smells good.
I do hate trimming so im very generous to my extract pile, I plan on either making bubble hash then squashing into rosin or just do a good frozen dry sift and squash into rosin... slight possibility I might make shatter but I'd rather not buy the butane etc, the rosin press is just so much faster and no chemicals.
I'll post up my weight ins soon but currently sitting at about 1/2 lb in jars and about 4 oz of premium larfy material for extract... 1 plant left to trim, the super larfy Furure #1 ... I would guess 2-3oz on it.
I hear you. I hate trimming too. i don't know if it's just me but I feel my hydro grown shrinks a ton compared to what I remember from my dirt days. maybe I need to do a clone side by side to get to the bottom of it. looks good buddy!!! happy trimmingπ¬
hmm that's interesting π€ ive never heard that... I'll see how my friends shrinks when he does it and compare. he's doing soil.
I hated trimming so much I invested in a trimming business with a high end machine. Hoping others hate it enough to hire me
@Tenson1 that is a great idea π‘ π π good job on seeing that niche market and moving towards it! How is your trimming business going? you wouldn't happen to be located in Canada are you lol?
got a few jobs...im in ohio, USA
Well all and all it was a good first grow back at it... I ran into tons of beginner issues and have been diving deep down so many rabbit holes relearning everything i can for next run.
I definitely expected a bit more dense bud after drying but things definitely shrunk down lots.
GMO-OG (front right) = 133.3g (4.76oz) Bud and 77.8g (2.77oz) Larf for extracts
*This plant was gifted to me from a friend, originally started in a 1gal soil pot. I soaked off the soil and transplanted into my setup. I topped it many times and LST hard to keep it low and spread out to match the others.
Banana Nerds plant#1 (Back Right) =
88.5g (3.16oz) of Bud and almost 0 Trim
*This plant is started from seed 6 weeks after the others to just try and fill the spot. I never topped it or trained it... it was so much smaller until the STRETCH where it exploded past the others. It made super nice big dense nugs... it did shrivel up a good amount when dried but im excited either way.
Banana Nerds plant #2 (Front left)= 33g (1.18oz) of Bud and again not much trim.
*Started at the beginning with the others but showed signs of being stunted right off the bat. I kept it because it was a trooper and I only had 2 strong plants... never topped, not much training.
Future #1 (Back left) = 37.8g of Bud...
*So this future #1 has been super interesting to grow... it was supposed to grow tall according to its stats but it just did not want to. Its main stem would not grow up, it just branched and branched and branched... it seemed super healthy but maybe this was from being stunted, idk... it was a pain to try and keep the others low to match it. it was a pain to defoliate. I had such high hopes for it... then around week 3 or 4 of flower I noticed 2 branches with nanners(male sacs) i cut off those branches and hoped for the best.
it finished super larfy, super gooie to the touch.... Turns out it seeded big time. so I basically just picked out the best few buds and stripped the rest off the stems, I'll pull out the seeds and the rest will be in the extract pile.
It was a great learning run for me and Im super excited to make a bunch of changes to my hydroponics setup... trying to solve these problems in the most efficient way possible.
Congrats on your harvest. I hope it serves you well!
Thanks π ... it will most definitely serve me and my friends well forsure!

nice π good luck with the grow
