Grow Timeline (18 updates)
Did the defol 2 hours before lights off. It took every minute of those 2 hours to finish. Her pre-defol special feed mix always helps before stress events. Silica, CalMag, Vitamino, Fulvic, and others. She never even droops or wilts. Pure Beast of a plant.
Looks Great!
Nice we met the maker of maker of that strain in Boulder Colorado! Golden gots fire we had it about 5 to 6 yrs agao n loved it still get it from hi. when we see him he works in the industry in Denver and cali.
That's awesome! It's such a great strain. It's an absolute beast to grow and responds to training of all sorts very well. It is very resilient to getting stressed, and the root growth from day 1 has been nothing short of amazingly explosive. I would recommend growing it to anyone that wants to try. I can't wait to try it when it's all said and done. If you see him again, tell him I said thank you for creating this amazing strain! Happy Growing!
Thank you! I have definitely been very pleased with her progress. It's been an awesome strain to work with so far. Happy Growing!
Just some random pics of her, some close ups on the little buds forming, also a few 20x zoom on the tricomes that have developed. She is doing extremely well, very healthy, runoff water P.H., E.C., and T.D.S. numbers all exactly where they should be, zero deficiencies, zero stress, perfect VPD and airflow helping to keep her happy and chugging along. A few more weeks and I'll be putting that UVB light into effect. She hasn't shown any sign of being bothered by the nitrogen taper the last 2 weeks. Started week 4 on Monday 2 days ago, which is her heaviest PK boosted feed week, she's getting her PK from the Advanced Nutrients Bloom, Advanced Nutrients Big Bud, and Canna PK 13/14 (very strong pk, it's a 0-10-11 formulation) per gallon of distilled water right now the bloom is at 8.75ml, the big bud is at 4ml, and the Canna PK is at 6ml. She drinks a gallon a day, nutes every day unless soil EC spikes, and after 2 feeds of the pk boosted mix (with other nutes and additives besides the PK as well), she has been very happy. I was worried slightly about nute burn but she's drinking it up and using every bit without a problem. I've created my specific feed mixture that changes weekly in flower, based not only on the growing media and the environment I've created for her, but it's also been created using a crazy amount of information based from professional and home grows for non-hydro, golden goat strain specific grows and what the strain did and did not respond well to. This whole grow has been a bit of an experiment for me, I wanted to see if I isolated one plant, and used every bit of love and care, use every so called "trick and tip" for better quality and better quantity, just try to do it all perfect being insanely precise with everything I could, to the best of my ability, (I'm just a home grower, I'm nowhere near being a professional or highly educated on horticulture or anything like that), I want to see if the taste, quality, and quantity ends up being that much better than a basic grow, or if it all pretty much ends up being the same as when you're not concerned with perfect techniques, timing, training, equipment placement, 730nm red for faster light to sleep, UVB for more and bigger tricomes, precise daily nute feeds unless E.C. rises (if E.C. rises, then it gets a plain water day. that hasn't happened in flower yet), specific nute mix for specific strain- made daily using only distilled water right at feed time, Nute feed mix always kept at 67°F for maximum amount of dissolved oxygen in the water without it being to cold for the roots, living soil using Great White Mycorrhizae and Real Growers Recharge and "Bud Candy" additive for microbe food, Hygrozyme for root zone and grow media health management, Yucca to eliminate or atleast reduce dry spots in grow media, etc, constant light P.P.F.D monitoring, daily feed and runoff P.H., E.C, and T.D.S. number checks and adjustments if needed, steady CO2, side lighting, weekly thorough tent disinfecting; alternating weeks using 10% bleach water and 99% isopropyl alcohol as disinfectant, non stop airflow at all levels of tent (3 oscillating fans at different heights), Non stop 24/7 air exchange (4 inch inline filter fan for intake at bottom of tent and a 4 inch inline filter fan for exhaust at top of tent, always on, full blast), Grow in a fabric pot; to allow roots to air prune to reduce circling, better drainage, better dryback, and better soil temp regulation, but I have the fabric pot resting in a plastic pot so the fabric pot doesn't sit in its own drainage, drains out plastic pot into catch pan. Fabric pot still has complete airflow all around as to not eliminate all the other listed benefits of fabric pots, etc. I'll also be doing a slow, 1 piece full plant dry using the 60/60 rule. Them extremely careful trim them into jars. Apparently, from what I've gathered, Golden Goat does best with a 40-50 day cure, So I'm going to go in the middle and do a 45 day cure in amber tinted mason jars, in complete darkness, burping when needed, and enviorment between 58-62RH at 60°F-65°F. All of this was just an extremely long winded way of saying, in my own way I'm going all out on 1 plant to see how much of a difference it makes, if any. Hopefully, all continues to go well, and in 3 or 4 months, I can say it was all worth it. Happy Growing!!!
she got some height in her
I had to break out the blue light and lower the temps a little bit for a week to slow her stretch, she was trying to grow into the light. She's under control now, those stretchy sativa's can really get out of control real fast, if gone unchecked. Happy Growing!
Tricomes getting pretty dense and visible, earlier than usual too. Those tricome pics are taken using just my phone camera(Google Pixel 9) between 2x zoom and 2.8x zoom. She is responding extremely well to the week 4, 7 day Canna PK 13/14 heavy pk boost. She's soaking up every bit of this weeks nutes. Daily feed; 1 gallon of distilled water with Botanicare Cal-Mag, A.N. Micro, (A.N. Grow has been phased out), A.N. Bloom, Canna PK, A.N. Big Bud, A.N. Bud Candy, Bio-Ag Ful-Power, Hygrozyme, and Nectar For The Gods Yucca Extract. She also got her dose of Great White Mycorrhizae this week. Next weeks microbe dose will be Real Growers Recharge compost tea. I alternate between the 2. Happy Growing!
Just a random update and pic drop. Pics are from yesterday, and today is the last day of week 4. She is doing extremely well, did great with week 4's heavy PK dosing. Tomorrow I begin week 5s post pk recovery feed. Here is what her next 7 days of feeding are going to look like.
W5 - Post-PK Recovery (EC ≈ 1.75 / 875 ppm)
All dosing is Per gallon of distilled water and listed in which order they need to be mixed.
Cal•Mag-2mL, Micro-3.25mL, Bloom-9mL, Big Bud-8mL, Bud Candy-5mL, Ful•Power-10mL, Hygrozyme-5mL, Yucca-0.5mL !Happy Growing!
She's getting so Frosty for this early in flower! I might have a less common pheno growing here. Pics were taken yesterday, last day of week 4. Hopefully the last 4-6 weeks go as good or better than the first 4 weeks. Happy Growing!
If it wasnt for the dull green leaf color and excessive tricomes forming extremely early, I would be worried I didn't taper the nitrogen correctly. From everything I gather, Golden Goat is naturally really leafy through the first 5+ weeks of flower, then the buds swell, stack, and a lot of the sugar leaves disappear and it doesn't look as bad. I hope that's correct. She shows no other signs, that I know of, that would indicate to much nitrogen at this point in flower. She extremely healthy, tricomes seem to quadruple daily, buds are getting bigger and today was the 1st day of week 5. Golden Goat has an average 9-11 week flower period. So far so good.
Honestly, I can't tell if I'm doing something incredibly right, or if this specific plant is just going crazy. Hell, I haven't even started to use the UVB light to build more and bigger tricomes, I'm going to have to figure out if I should even use it, at all, this run.
If you got it use it. Looking frosty at week 5☃️
genetics over input all day. I've grown shit outside that people swore was impossible.
to much uv isn’t good . try using for 15 minutes when lights go on & 15 minutes before lights go off
Absolutely, to much UV and I'll just damage the tricomes and the plant itself. Cannabis should only receive between 2%-5% UVB in short bursts, if I remember correctly. I use to think it was best to do 15min at lights on then the same at lights off, but the more I dug in and did a deep dive on all angles that I could, I've learned the plant handles UVB best at mid light cycle while it's in full photosynthesis mode. Studies have shown, at correct duration and dosage of UVB, that doing it during mid light cycle, It maximizes Tricome, THC and terpene production by stimulating the plants natural defense mechanisms without causing excessive stress or damage. The tricomes act as the plants natural sunscreen. At midday, the plant is running full throttle, able to take UVB in stride if done correctly. Similar to how it happens in nature, the suns uvb is strongest mid-day, Noon-2pm, so I would naturally assume the plants have evolved over time to handle it best, mid light cycle, like in nature. I have a 14% reptile UVB bar, way to strong obviously, but at the correct distance away from the canopy, (3-4 feet) the plant would receive the correct light dose that I'd be aiming for.
Side note; As with anything I've learned, if anything I say is incorrect, I welcome and encourage someone to correct me, because the last thing I want to do is spew out false or inaccurate information, confidently, and end up hurting someone elses grow because of something I said. Or worse yet, have 10 people take what I said as absolute truth and further spread false information. I'm just another guy soaking up info at a rapid rate and trying to spread the knowledge and lessons to others for the love of growing. Happy Growing!
Agreed. Genetics should always be the first priority when choosing to grow. Bad genetics but everything else is great, still equals a shit plant. I've seen growers do the worst things to strong genetic having plants and it comes out pretty decent still. It's when those strong genetics meet the right grower, enviorment, nutes, etc. that insane beauty unfolds before our very eyes. Happy Growing!
That's what my fiancee said to me as well. I'll probably give it a soft touch of UVB the last 3 weeks or so. Happy Growing!
this is one of the better grow apps . I been on others & have seen people trash other people’s grows, we don’t tolerate any of that & is a safe space to share & learn growing . it a passion & an art . I been doing this for over 45 years & was on my great uncles cannabis farm helping out since I was 5 . I grew up in city & would look forward to going to his farm in summer time & weekends & fell in love at young age . I spent 7 years in federal prison for growing & now love it more that it just a hobby & not business . I still love learning & sharing knowledge.
still a lot of research is being done on the effects of uv lights & I will wait for definitive proof . until it federally legal we won’t get a lot of research. Dr. Bruce Bugbee is leading the research into cannabis & he only can do it with hemp plants at Utah university. to me it just not worth it for little more return in yield . not what I grow for anymore & way to much bro science out there . find what works best for u & continue doing that , everyone has there own opinion on how to grow & truthfully there so many ways to grow . this plant been growing on its own forever
yah, don't give up your secret to your growmies 😑🤘😜
I don't know about other apps but I constantly see people saying how great of a community this is and how this is the best app. I guess I got lucky finding this one first, which I'm thankful for. I'm not perfect by any means, just like anyone else, but I can't stand when other people trash each other. If someone is struggling, the last thing they need is someone downing them. If you have ideas or the knowledge one can use to better themselves, then you should help build them up, not tear them down when they're struggling to get started. It doesn't cost anything to help someone gain better understanding. So many people probably give up on growing because they had trouble, then asked for help, and received nothing but hate. It's honestly sad. That's why I added the comment that if I'm wrong about something I say, someone please correct me. I don't want to come off as a know it all, I just want to pass along things I've learned that I believe to be correct. It's all for the love of growing and the community in this app seem to be perfectly in tune with just that.
45 years!? The wealth of experience and knowledge you carry, is something I could sit around talking about and end up asking a million questions. No amount of tech can replace the wisdom and knowledge gained through trial and error, and lessons learned over a lifetime such as you have accumulated in your life. To have that amount of time in, and still be humble and wanting to still learn and share your knowledge is rare in my opinion and it's something we need a lot more of. I'm sorry you lost 7 years of your life, caged up, unjustifiably so, for growing plants. It's beyond sick and despicable that could happen to any one person, let alone the countless people it has happened to. The fact that you not only still have the love for growing but you love it even more after that time was stolen from you, it's poetic. Absolutely awesome! Sorry for the long response. I tend to be long winded. Keep on keeping on and Happy Growing!
great points & I agree 100% . I have spoken with administrator about any trolls & so far so good . I been growing over 45 years & still love to learn . it an endless journey & why it great hobby , I been on other apps & had fights with people who trashed new growers . I come from the old days on forums & was part of the Devils Harvest Krew where we all had each others back & shared genetics & tips & helped each other out . I actually had messaged the administrator about adding a forum now that more people joined . where u can have designated nights for different topics
and grow discussions & I asked him awhile ago & said not enough people on here . I been on since beginning & was only few of us & now the community has grown so much . if u see someone trashing another person’s grow feel free & say something. other apps people would trash newbie’s grows & they had nothing to back there words up . I’m not a big tech guy & took a lot for me to join , I’m in a legal state but still paranoid. I did 7 years in federal prison for growing & didn’t join this app for others to be dickheads . definitely say something.
I’m also asking other growers on here how they fell about doing any forums or any other ideas . I know administrator was starting a kickstarter but stopped it cause not enough interest. hard with money being tight . he also had the strain guide he spends a lot of time working on as well & was looking for a package deal to get both apps . let me know what u think or any other ideas u have & I bring it up to him & see what he has to say . thanks
I have more passion now for growing then I ever have had . when I grew for money I hated going to the grow house . unfortunately I was heavily addicted to heroin for 30+years & now I going on 7 years green & clean & this plant saving me each day . my great uncle grew cannabis since the 1930’s & since I was 5 I would go to his farm in summers & harvest season . I grew up in the city so it was fun & different. all the older guys would teach me while I shoveled compost & mixed crap up . glad I have the passion again
is that Rasta Jeff’s golden goat ?
Lol I keep no secrets with growing. I think this grow is going so well for a 10 reasons. #1 Those Golden Goat strain genetics are strong as hell. If I had a plant with horrible genetics, the next 9 reasons would not matter. In my opinion, Genetics are king, always top priority. Always. #2 I researched as much as I possibly could on the Golden Goat strain, commercial and home grows, what training methods and feeding regimes and nutrients it does best with, dialed in my VPD and environment, keep everything stable and consistent. #3 Also in that research, I made a flowering feed schedule specific to that strain, and what it supposedly does best with, week by week. What nutrients and how much I give it, change each week in the flower stage because the plant has more or less nutrient needs in flower week by week. #4 EVERY day, EVERY feed, I check my feed P.H., E.C., and T.D.S.. Before I feed them I also check all those numbers in the runoff, every time. In flower, the plants needs change slightly when it comes to feed and soil E.C. and T.D.S., P.H. I always aim to hit 6.25 and never go more than 0.10 lower or higher than that target number.
#5 Living Soil. Great white mycorrhizae, Real Growers Recharge, Once a week, alternated weekly. Making sure to keep soil health correct so microbes and fungi can thrive. Also making sure to feed them as well. #6 Constant checks to make sure the canopy gets the right amount of light, I'm always checking that P.P.F.D. and that D.L.I. #7 Always making sure the CO2 is inline with the light intensity. You can have all the light power you want but if the plant doesn't have the right amount of CO2 with it, all that extra light isn't used and gets wasted. It needs that carbon molecule to combine with the light photon to make plant matter (also other things but light and CO2 amounts are directly connected) #8 Great airflow. Canopy structure open, no still air or humid pockets. I have an inline filter fan on the floor for intake air, also have one at the top of the tent for exhaust. Both are always running at just below full power. I also have 3 oscillating fans, one at soil height, one at canopy height, and one at light height, blowing heat off the light right into the exhaust.
#9 Fast sleep mode. When you turn the lights off, it takes the plant 45-90 minutes to realize lights are off and fully "go to sleep". If you add a fat red 720nm-740nm specific light to turn on, right when your main lights turn off, for just 15 minutes, your plant will be fully "asleep" within that 15 minutes. There are plenty of added benefits to doing this. In my plant pictures, you'll see a white round light in the back right corner just above the canopy. That is a fat red 730nm specific light set on a separate timer to run for 15 minutes right after lights off.
#10 Great soil structure. There are so many different options and combinations of growing media for cannabis. As long as it has great aeration and drainage, the rest is easy. I have an even combo of Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Coco Coir with some perlite and Food grade Diatomaceous Earth mixed in. Then I use bottled nutrients. The roots from day one were absolutely explosive and have done extremely well in this mix. But as I said, there are plenty of extremely great options for growing cannabis when doing a soil type grow. There are more ways than one to skin a cat, so to speak. Also, between bottled nutes and organic, to the plant, there is no difference. Microbes break down organic matter into plant bioavailable nutrients. The bottles nutrients, are EXACTLY the same thing that microbes break organic material down into. Only difference, one takes time to be plant available, the other is instantly plant available. The plant itself notices no difference when uptake occurs, because there is no difference when that uptake occurs between the two. That's why I love Synganic growing. Living Soil plus instant nutrient control and precision. Despite a lot of myths, bottle nutrients do NOT harm microbes. They actually help in so many ways, if done right, and soil is kept at the right P.H. and E.C. Those are the things that I believe contribute to the success of my grow. Nothing special, repeatable, consistent, stable. I'm also ALWAYS wanting and willing to learn new ways and ideas and hear out constructive criticism. Open mind, always. Happy Growing!
Blimburn seeds golden goat through North Atlantic Seed Company. They were freebies. After I got them, I looked into blimburn, and there are so many horrible reviews and things being said. So, honestly, for all I know it's not even golden goat. I could have a completely different strain. But, from everything I can find, pictures and descriptions, growth rates, resin production, week by week happenings in flower, every tiny detail of true golden goat plants seem to match up with what I'm growing. Hopefully I got lucky or maybe the reviews are inaccurate, etc. I will only be sure after harvest, when I send leaves and a few buds in for a bunch of different types of testing a lot of labs offer. Genetic, phenotype, THC %, etc. The only thing that makes me think that I actually have a golden goat, is that golden goat is my fiancees absolute favorite #1 preferred strain (She fell in love with golden goat after growing and trying it while she worked for a cultivation near us for many years, which is the reason I chose to grow GG) that she always gets, and she says it's for sure golden goat from the looks and smell. I'm still going to have it lab tested tho lol
I forgot one important thing, CLEAN water. I use distilled water ALWAYS. A lot of people use R/O water, purified is good too. Always have good clean water.
I never used Blimburn , but I heard all the same stories . freebies u have nothing to lose . they considered white label seed co like ILGM & I few people who grew ILGM & they just slap name on seeds & sell em . Look into Rasta Jeff I believe he still breeding with the Golden Goat . something u dont see to often anymore & wish it would come back was great strain . let me know how it finishes & if u thinks the smoke is real goat . good luck 👍
this specifically is new info for me to look into. the other stuff I am aware of doing research. I have a whole house .R.O. system so clean water is all she wrote. soil was all kinds of difficulty for me so I switched to coco. much simpler to feed. one thing none of these websites explain properly is the difference between watering and feeding.
can you post a pic of your fat red
looks healthy 😃
This app won't let me post pictures in comments, but here's a link to the exact one that I bought on eBay. https://ebay.us/m/EXZIj1
going along with far red and it's benefits, check out the far red "Emerson Effect". a lot of cool info and how different red wavelengths have different effects on plants. Happy Growing!
thx 3G, it would take a little adjusting to but I think I can add this to my processes.
I personally feel it's more than worth it. Here's some of the best basic info into using the 730nm far red light for fast change from day to night and some myths. Hope this helps anyone who reads it. *What 730 nm (far-red) actually does — the proven stuff -Plants don’t “sleep” like animals, but they run on a phytochrome switch. That switch has two states: -Pr = night mode -Pfr = day mode -Red light (~660 nm) flips Pr → Pfr (day signal). -Far-red light (~730 nm) flips Pfr → Pr (night signal). ✅ 1. Faster night confirmation (this is the big one) -When you hit the plant with 730 nm right after lights off, you rapidly convert active phytochrome (Pfr) into inactive phytochrome (Pr). *Result: -The plant biologically “accepts” night faster -No lingering twilight confusion -Cleaner circadian timing -Without far-red, this conversion happens naturally, but it can take 45–90 minutes. *With far-red: -You shorten that transition to minutes -This is not opinion. This is plant photobiology. ✅ 2. More consistent flowering signals -Cannabis is a short-day plant. It doesn’t measure darkness length with a stopwatch — it measures how long Pfr stays low. *By dumping Pfr quickly: -You create a hard, clean night -Flowering hormones (florigen pathways) stay stable -Less chance of hormonal “blur” *This is especially useful in tents with: -LED light decay -Minor light leaks -Long photoperiod histories ✅ 3. Reduced light-off stress -Plants don’t love ambiguous signals. Twilight confuses hormones. *Far-red gives: -Abrupt, unambiguous “night started” -Cleaner metabolic shift from photosynthesis → respiration -Better nighttime starch usage -Think of it like flipping a breaker instead of dimming a light slowly. ✅ 4. Allows full-day PPFD without extending stress -Because you’re not changing daytime spectrum or intensity, you can: -Run strong lights -Keep daytime optimal -Still avoid a long “pseudo-day” tail -That matters when you’re already pushing a plant that’s producing dense buds and heavy resin. ✅ 5. Minimal downside when used for short duration right after lights off. -Short duration (5–15 min), after lights off only, low wattage, no overlap into day = almost zero risk. -Thats the most conservative, science-supported way possible. *Myths/bro-science* *Now let’s clean house: the bro-science myths *These float around endlessly, and most are either half-truths or flat-out wrong. ❌ “730 nm boosts trichomes” !Nope! *Trichome density is driven by: -Genetics -UV-A / UV-B exposure -Mild stress signaling -Carbon availability -Hormonal balance -Far-red does nothing directly to trichome initiation or resin synthesis. -If someone sees “more frost” after adding far-red, it’s correlation, not causation. ❌ “730 nm increases yield” Indirect at best, but usually no. *Used during lights-on, far-red can: -Trigger shade-avoidance -Increase internodal spacing -Stretch plants That’s morphology, not biomass creation. *Yield comes from: -Photosynthetic photons (PAR) -Canopy efficiency -Root health -Nutrient uptake -Far-red doesn’t add usable photosynthesis for cannabis in a meaningful way. ❌ “Running 730 nm during lights-on fattens buds” *This is backwards. During lights-on, far-red: -Tells the plant it’s shaded -Encourages stem elongation, not density -Can loosen bud structure if abused -That’s why commercial cannabis rooms generally avoid daytime far-red unless specifically manipulating plant height early in veg. ❌ “It replaces darkness hours” -Nope. Hard no. -Far-red does not replace dark time. It just flips the phytochrome state faster. -You still need real darkness for: -Hormone cycling -Terpene preservation -Respiration dominance -Anyone claiming 11/13 + far-red = 12/12 results is selling optimism, not data. ❌ “More far-red = better sleep” -Plants aren’t humans. -Too much far-red: -Creates hormonal imbalance -Can confuse photoperiod perception -Does nothing after Pfr is already depleted -Once the switch is flipped, extra far-red is pointless. !Happy Growing!
Had to post this picture with me in it, which normally I wouldn't, but my work shirt shifted in a way that, instead of my works name, the letters spelled HEAL. Let me verify personally, I did NOT do that intentionally, which is why I love that picture now. That happening while I'm next to my cannabis plant I'm growing is crazy to me and very fitting. As soon as I noticed my shirt did that I knew I had to post this. Probably one of my favorite pictures of all time because of that.
Fighting that dry winter air where I live. Humidity dropped, VPD hit 1.9. definitely don't want that stress running into week 8 of flower. Humidifier went back into the tent. Got it evened out in 10 min. Back on track. Happy Growing!!!!
It took a humidifier and about 2 weeks before I finally got the winter air under control. And if I forget about the humidifier even once, then it runs out and I have to start the whole process over.
Shut off my main light and used the T5 side light to capture 5 of those pictures. The last picture has the main light on. Beautiful senesance on full display. Tricomes are 90% clouded milky, the rest are clear except maybe 1-3 amber tricomes trics per bud. Giving it right before lights kick on Christmas day to cloud some more of those clear tricomess. My light cycle starts everyday at 7:30p.m.
After dinner on Christmas, around 7pm, it will be chop time!! After the dry is done, into jars it all goes until the end of February for that 45-50 day cure. Hopefully it'll be some good smooth smokin. !Happy Growing!
Feed me semore feed me
Final light cycle. Lights will go off at 7am and just under 12 hours later, right after Christmas dinner, harvest and dry will begin 30 minutes before her lights would have normally kicked on. 17½ weeks from Seedling to harvest, a lot of topping and training that led to 60+ cola tops, 3ft tall plant with a canopy maxing out a 3x3 grow tent, can't wait to see if I hit that 1 pound mark I aimed for after dry and curing. The timing trips me out. Christmas Day harvest and the dry then cure will be done on Valentine's Day. I'm Loving this holiday bud! Happy Growing!
Merry Christmas and Happy Growing!
Man you are definitely close to the LB mark with dry weight I'd say you come within 2oz of a LB give or take BUT if u account for the shake weight you'll prolly be right on the money or more. Nice pull brother I'm just getting into a big tent myself from a small 2x2x4 60+ colas are dope too!
Nice harvest . Be patient with the cure ! 👍
Nice haul
I feel the same. I know I'll be close or possibly nudge past. I put extra focus on root health and it paid off. Hope all goes well in the new tent for you. The 60+ colas were close to being to much to handle in a 3x3 tent but got the job done. Best of luck in your new tent. Happy Growing!
Thanks! I'll definitely be patient with the cure. That's where all my work can be lost if I don't do it right. Here in a couple months when she's done, I'll post pictures and let everyone know how it tastes and smokes. Happy Growing!
Thanks! I was very happy when I seen the wet weight. I knew then that I'll get close or exceed my goal of 1 pound on this plant. Happy Growing!
Definitely keep us posted. Getting the environment dialed in while drying can be pain at times . What u using for curing ? Mason jars or grove bags ?
I will. I live in the northeast U.S. so this cold winter air definitely puts a fight on keeping environment dialed but it's doing good right now. I'll be using the grove bags for the first time. I've been skeptical but I've seen and read great things about them so I figure it's worth a try. I'm still going to throw in a mini hygrometer and watch it like a hawk lol
I hear ya I’m in NY & been real cold start to winter & I have 2 tents in non insulated garage. I running the ac infinity heaters & with lights on it gets around 75 & lights off stays at 70 not to bad . Sucks when I need to open the door . What area u around ?
I focused so much on root health and enviorment and I see it paid off. The roots not only filled the 5 gallon fabric pot, very dense, but also grew through it as well. No wonder my E.C. stayed stable and I fed nutrient water daily without needing clean water breaks or flushes. Also, I through in some buds during wet trim before they went to hang and dry. I'm very happy with how she turned out. Can't wait until February when she's done drying and I can light her up! Happy Growing!
Fact's you put the works, you get the desert lol ..
What can I say. This turned out better than I hoped. The pre-cure smoke was incredibly smooth and tasty. Such a clean, gassy, lemon, pine, sweet funk taste and a very smooth creeper buzz that packs a hell of a punch at peak. Taste like island bud. I know I have my bias because I hyper analyzed and micromanaged the hell out of this grow, but, to me, this is easily in the top 3 of the best bud I've ever smoked. That blunt also had a dust covered rosin worm rolled inside, plus another one wrapped around the outside. So smooth. The dabs from this, 12 people so far agree, best dab possible. People refused to wait for the cure after trying it right out of dry and trim. I only have a qp left after 2 days. And that's only because that's what I'm keeping for myself. Only 2 grams of live rosin left. Golden Goat absolutely killed it. Amazing strain. Amazing plant. Hell of a grow. Glad I still have 2 more seeds. !Happy Growing!
Well done! Looks absolutely phenomenal, and I loved the write up. Can't wait to see your next grow!
Thank you. I couldnt have asked for better results. My experiment landed results I could have only wished for. The goal of this grow was to do a single plant, top like crazy, hyper focus on root health and extras like UVB light, 730nm far red to put the plant "to sleep" in minutes instead of nature's 45min-90min timing. That alone allowed more light time on flower. Do all the extras and see how good one plant can do. Weekly sterilization of the entire enviorment and equipment, alternating between using 10% bleach to clean everything one week and 99% isopropyl alcohol the next week. I can never find 99% alcohol in stores, but I do industrial maintenance and I had infinite amounts to use from work lol Extremely strict, zero deviation from using very clean distilled water (getting pH right in low EC/TDS distilled water can be rough at times lol) and focused heavy on the science and biology behind the cannabis plant, the strain I was working with, etc. Using my "stress nute mix" the day before stress events to buffer stress hormones worked scary good. Major defol, topping like crazy, transplant, etc. The damn plant NEVER dropped or wilted after stress. Understanding what happens to the plant at stress events, how it responds and the effects of those natural responses helped in making a nute mix that just kept the plant thriving. Micromanaged temp and humidity at all levels, floor, soil, canopy, and light height. This grow never had a single bug, pest, mold or mildew problem. The level at which I allowed this one plant to consume my mind and time, it really was boarderline insanity. The work paid off though. Crazy to think, no matter how much I learn, I'll never know or even understand even 1% of what there is to know about growing this damn plant. Student of this hobby for life! Sorry for the long winded response. Golden Goat stoned over here 😂 Every person who tried it, wanted more, wanted seeds and clones of it, wanted the Nute regimen, it really felt like potheads in a crackhead psychosis.😆 Growing really is a trip. Always more to learn. More to experiment. Just more. Happy Growing!
Hell ya 👍
how strong are those lights underneath
Those are barrina T-5 LED's. There are 4 separate 1ft pieces, 5watts per piece, 20 watts all together. Very very weak but surprisingly effective. I first used them on my last grow before this, had a few leaves resting roughly 2 inches away from those little lights, the next day I looked at the leaves and they were burned/bleached from those little weak baby side lights. Needless to say, I learned my lesson. They work great for side lighting. My main top light is 400 watts, the 730nm red light is 65watts, and my UVB light is a 14% UVB. Cannabis should only get 2%-5%UVB in short bursts so I have to keep mine above the plant 20+inches so it doesn't do damage. Any other questions, I'm always willing to answer. Any advice or criticism, I'm always willing to listen and learn. Happy Growing!
