Grow Timeline (51 updates)

added 2 northern light autos to the grow today. might as well use the space since I plan to lst the gary poppins and expect 3 months of veg to achieve even canopy and maximize node site potential.
Hi there! I was curious to your lights? Do you have two lights in there? And if so why? No judging, I'm just trying to learn. And seeing and understanding others thought process and growing. And kudos to the grow!

I have 3 lights, 1 bloomspect full spectrum led 180w, 2 vander led 180w. allows me to keep temps warm enough in winter/early spring while also providing alot of watts come flowering time.
That's awesome! I like that and it makes sense. I'm in a basement apartment. I moved here 3 months ago. It's pretty cool. I have temp issues myself. Thank you for this!

GP looks way better starting to perk up, not to happy with node spacing on it but can't control everything. autos seem to have either a cal mag deficiency but I have no access to nutes atm so may end up losing the first 2 autos, time will tell. no sprouts yet on the bag seed and the last auto I started germination on. hurry up and wait folks

GPS is definitely on the bounce back, soil was completely dry so gave a small watering very slow throughout the day, first northern lights is booming while the second to sprout is most likely not going to make it. difference being how long I hardened off the seedlings? Will continue to watch it to note what happens.

alot was done today. gp recovered fantastic, so I decided to do some light removal to lean the main stem, honestly it's a bag seed so I'm just experimenting the homegrown cannabis co training methods. as far as autos i have a new seedling, the blue bucket is still sickly but growing so i pruned it back to see how/if it recovers. i topped the orange bucket auto. 5 nodes left removed the 6th an 7th. i did this early for my taste since this is the first time I have used this brand/breeder or strain. lastly i watered with a very light slow watering on each plant. note I did add 4 tb spoons of used coffee ground to my watering can, approximately a half gallon.

Update Gary poppins is a survivor, added a new pic to show the actual damage and i am now reverting back to wrapped ties instead of manual manipulation. i was training gary poppins and got a tad bit aggressive on one of the bends, could feel the stem wall crack, so I stopped and gently released the stem, it has been 12 hours and seems to be trying to heal, if it don't seem to be recovering more by 24 hours I will cut, and split the top into a few clones to try to salvage what I can from the top
take a dab of honey and throw it on the wound. you can also take a piece of wire and use that to support the branch from underneath and secure it to the plant w grafting wrap or twist ties if you find she is too heavy to support herself. I think it'll be ok, I'm all thumbs tooππ
wife took photos for me an put raw local honey (thanks glitch for the suggestion) on the break. gary poppins and northern lights orange bucket are doing good, the blue bucket northern lights auto is definitely trying to recover from the damage and the pruning. Will be interesting to see how much it produces lol might spend 12 weeks growing a blunt π
lol looks good, I've been stressing my autos out too I'm curious to see how much they put out.
np. glad I could help. looks like she is already turning back up to the light. that's good. in another week you'll have a big knuckle there and she'll be stronger than before. i bet you the 12 week blunt will be the best you ever had though!!!!!
pistils.... so the gary poppins bag seed is a auto flower also or i flipped it when just installed the timer for lights and started 18/6 instead of 24/0. I'll know for sure if the clones iv pulled from it start trying to flower if it was light cycling or if it's a auto. both autos blue an orange are showing pistils also
photo/vid credits to the wife, lot done today, flipped flower spectrum on main light. defoliated the orange bucket auto, spread it out good with ties. added box under gary poppins to keep all canopy height even. added the last northern lights auto to a 1 gallon container to see how container size effects growth of the autos. wife said she deep dived a reddit rabbit hole about gary poppins being a small but very heavy yielding cultivar she is expecting 1.5 pound from this tent between 3 autos and a bag seed Garry poppins from stability. I think she's crazy with no nutes I'm maybe looking at a qp of larfy foxtail northern lights, and 2 Oz or so of gp
northern lights orange bucket is 28 days today expected harvest is may 31 thru June 7th
northern lights blue bucket is 25 days, will monitor for harvest since it was stunted
gary poppins is either a fast bud genetic or a auto. the clone is also flowering as my wife tries to propagate it. gary p is 39 days old today and I have no clue how long it will flower as I can't find much info on the cultivar
so I found a used 5x5x6.5, I don't have that space due to furnace, waterheater, and height. I do have space for 6.5x5x5 as it would fit the space height wise. am I crazy to think lay it on the side and just use self piercing gutter screws to arrange new support poles.
seems like they survived my absence, I tested the ppfd since they are flowering. garu seems to either be underwatered or hates the light so close. unfortunately all 3 lights suck even that close they don't get over 700 ppfd. Definitely gonna need a better light
northern lights auto in the orange bucket is doing fantastic, gary is still a Lil limp but seems to be perking up a bit. blue bucket auto is starting to show pistils and stretch. started several new seeds, have 1 gmo, 1 the mule, 1 new northern lights auto, and 3 I named d-rick cuz i have absolutely zero idea what the strain is but my boy gave me a bag he ain't care for an it was littered with seeds. gonna grow all them till approximately 5 weeks old and transplant outside. including the auto to compare the difference between indoor/outdoor
looking good bud, I'm germing a NLA rn so I'm curious to see how much she yields
so I am growing 3 nla in different grow styles but the same tent. my aim is to see what produces the best/most flower. ill post some pics of today as these lovely plants are really doing well
awesome bro, I'm looking forward to seeing what results you get
all is well buds are forming well on 2 plants, 1 is soon to flower. gary poppins is filling in well, topped all 4 mains to create more tops and allow time for the middle to fill in the rest of the way. have 2 the mule, 3 bag seed, and 1 gmo in seedling stage. soon to upgrade to a 5x5 roof tent an gonna use the 2x4 to dry in
well bigger tent just isn't a option right now so I improvised the cheap light that only works on flower mode is now running 12/12 for gary and 2 of the bag seed plants calling them d-rick. if this works temporarily great, if not oh well the autos are looking promising so I want them in a dedicated tent
the autos are really blooming well so I took a side cola that seemed extra larfy to test the home built cannatrol before the whole plant is ready for harvest. gary is producing pistils and got spread out to increase airflow. about 1 month into buds ill tape support poles to the Grey container and put a scrog net to help support buds.
how did that homemade cannatrol work out ?
not well, just had a buddy look the electric over, he's gonna fix some errors i made and will give it a try on the next run. if all goes well ill link the instructions (including the licensed electricians corrections) for now its old school cardboard dry boxs
u drying in cardboard boxes? I actually doing same for my northern lights autoβs . my photos arenβt done yet so I took card board box & ran speaker wire thru top & hung the plants from wire & made holes for air . it does work . u have to make do with what u got . I donβt have anymore room in garage to set my 3x3 tent next to my 4x4 for drying so I have to wait
welp drying boxes it is. electrical issues with the diy cannatrol. gonna call in a favor to get the idea working correctly before attempting again as im not an electrician. Will update but this is why I did a test run before sticking a whole plant in it.
nla orange has been harvested and hung in a diy cardboard dry box. buds definitely could be more dense but seem less larfy than I expected. Will update with dry weight and pictures. now i have space i moved the 12/12 plants into the tent with the carbon filter. started 2 chemdogging from mephisto genetics in 5 gal fabric pots. 20/4 cycle for the new autos. gary is almost done with stretch and looks on track to be a heavy yeilder
33.7 grams of northern lights of that plant, very larfy loose buds but I got smokable buds off my first grow so not gonna complain. gary is stacking well flower seems dense and smells fantastic. 3 weeks left on the n.l.a in the yellow bucket had to Supercross the top over so it didnt hit the light. 5 weeks left on gary. started some chemdogging and 3 bears og x toof decay. super stoked to see how they grow compared with the nla
gary is doing great, 5 weeks left so feed half a cup of dr earth flower girl as a fertilizer tea, then half a cup mixed in the soil with some worm castings an bone meal. The only feed this plant will get. buds are stacked nicely and seem very dense.

looking good.
