Love when they taste like their names. My first impression of Zkittles was insane as a teen smoking with the homies. The start of my terp hunting journey haha
my tshirt is going straight to the washer lol. harvesting pollen is soo much harder than I thought. I ended up carefully snipping branches and laying them on plates and parchment paper so they would bust there instead of on themselves. then I removed the branches and picked out the pods. I’ll let it dry another day and then put it into a leftover seed container or two and throw it in the fridge until the fall

Wouldnt it be easier to put a black plastic bag carefuly over it, cut it, flip it and shake off the pollen? Im guessing maybe some debrie and leaves could/would also fall off so maybe handpick/strain the pollen after.
I tried that way as well. I cut off about half the branches and put the rest of the plants in an unscented trash bags. it didn’t really work. but my plants weren’t very big either. I ended up getting enough for what I need and most importantly learned a few things.

I got a small amount but I have a feeling applied right that it will go a long ways. it seems pretty dry. it has been in the container in the fridge since yesterday and it’s not clumped up like it’s wet. I’ll store it until this fall when I attempt to impregnate the ladies outside.

nice. add a few desiccant beads from a pack. just to make sure it stays dry. the fridge is an alright place but the freezer is a much better place for longer term storage. just take it out 15-20 mins before you’re ready to use it in the fall.

these are male plants so, assuming these are F2 plants, I would be making F3 seeds I believe. it’s hard telling because they are freebies and probably not from the OG breeder. And if they aren’t from the OG breeder then they would have breed them similar to the way I am to make seeds to sell

hopefully. that’s the plan lol. This is just my first go at it so I’m hoping for some big things in the future. I have 10? different crosses I want to make this winter using the GDPxUrkle I got from the app and DJ Shorts Blueberry as the male pollen donors.

🤣 it was a mess honestly lol. just a flick on the males sent pollen flying everywhere. I clipped the branches and put them in a parchment paper lined Tupperware and let the pollen fall then collected it. I got that shit everywhere. then I went to pollinate 2 bud sites in my tent with a kids art paintbrush and accidentally flicked pollen everywhere. from what I can tell all 12 of my plants were seeded, and the three in close proximity are packed. like 10-15 seeds a joint lol. for future projects I will open air pollinate in a dedicated breeding tent. lessons learned for seeds I will probably never grow lol. I collected my 2 buds tho just in case
lessons learned. I've found it easy and less risky to gather my best clones and pop a male in the center, hook up drip irrigation and close the tent for the season LMAO. Then before I harvest once they're pretty much dried up, I'll pump up the humidity for a few hours enough to get a bit of dew on the window. that way when I open up... I'm not spreading it. The high humidity will weigh it down and possibly even sterilize it.
that’s a good idea. I’ll have to do that when I get to breeding. I need something to stop the pollen lol. I’m coming to realize how long that’s going to probably take though. my last grow was a test run for phenohunting as well. I have 3 strains I want to hopefully find keepers from out of the 13 or 14 seeds I have of each. and then I can buy a blueberry muffin breeders cut clone for my pollen donor mother and try feminized breeding. I’m in the process of setting up a second 5x5 as I can afford it to expedite the process

no I haven’t seen that. this is my first time breeding. I’m basically going to do an “open pollination” and collect the pollen from these 3 fpog males in the same container and store it until this fall and pollinate the 4 fpog females I have outside. this is more of a trial run and nothing I’m taking too serious.
I should probably do something like that too
CannaBee99 had a couple good suggestions. Trying a solo cup breeding project which I think I will try next. and James Loud has a breeding book on his website that he bundles up with different seeds. I plan on buying a bundle after I’m done with my current grows.
Ooo interesting, I am listening to his podcast at the moment. Definitely gonna look more into this breeder bundle.
