Grow Timeline (28 updates)

needed room in veg area so I decided to flip the 3 I had. 1 was ready, one could have used another 2 weeks and one was a barely rooted clone. that's the one I'm most interested in, just want to see how big a cola I can get on it.
feeding jacks bloom for the week and then I'll switch it over to maintenance feed
ec little lower than Id like for this stage but I'm gonna ease them in slowly.
heavily defoliated when I flipped to flower. not something id normally do but I figured I'd give it a whirl

starting to see hedgehogs. transitioned over very quick. I'll creep up EC to start pushing the limits, would like to see 1.9-2.1. I could probably switch back to maintenance feed now that it has some blooms but I'm lazy and will probably just top off with maintenance feed until I get a chance to do a full swap Saturday
lookin good...
humidity spiked in tent this afternoon, 82%.
turned on dehumidifier in lung room and it dropped to 62% pretty quickly. only trade off is humidifier brings up the temp, but the tent is staying stable at 75f, 6" exhaust is doing its job pulling the heat off the light. still in early flower and have plenty of airflow with fans so I'm not too concerned

love when you're away for a few days and come back to an explosion of growth and a lovely smell. hadn't checked on the grow for 3 days and besides system being 3 gallons low, everything is as expected. I'll do some light super cropping (if it's something that can be done lightly ๐คฃ) and start training biggun to take over dead spot in the tent. the male Durban used to breed this was a champ, big and was a very easy plant. the super silver haze was a pain to grow. slightest deviation in pH and it would throw a fit. hope that gene didnt carry over. time will tell

the girls went to the barber today, stripped the lower sections, aired her out a bit in the middle. more haircuts next week when I really strip her down at 3 week point. noticed one plant starting to show excess nitrogen. clawing, leaves getting real dark. cut back on part b. may need to cut back a little more but I'll give it a week and see.
part A 3.97 part b 2.06 Epsom .99
I don't know if anyone else uses jacks 321, but I've had good success with it. Its so easy to modify to meet your plants needs. pretty cheap too. going on 3 years on 20lb bag and I probably have 15 lbs left.

eating about a gallon a day. will drop part b to 60%. going to try and push EC a few hundred higher next batch. needs final trimming when I get the time

I have decided to play a fun game. my reservoir is not in my tent so I can monitor pH and ec with out opening the tent. I'm not going to open the tent again until next Friday. it will be fun to see how much difference there is in growth. however it may be dangerous because I won't be able to read the plant and see what she needs .... so dancing on razor blades...lol let the game begin. some purples showing in flowers, sweet fruity smell with undertones of a lemon floor cleaner
looking good lol I've never done a hydroponic run so that sounds like a interesting little game but definitely risky. it'll let you know if you're on top of your game though if ends up working out

looking good @glitch
you had me at lemon floor cleaner lol
the super silver haze mom was straight lemon pledge, sensitive to grow but really nice smell. Dad Durban Poison is giving the purple undertones.

harder than I thought not sneaking a peak at the ladies. entire house is starting to smell, I'm assuming by end of flower I'll be smelling it outside lol. just the way I like it!! #nofilter
@poyal_rines solo cup transplant pics

ty for showing this. this is fucking genius!
came home from work today to what sounded like a jet engine was trying to take off in the house. humidity in tent at about 79%. ๐ฑ turned on dehumidifier and directed exhaust from it into intake tube. in about 30 min it a back down to 60%. needless to say, girls didn't drink much today. been using jacks part b at 60%, and it keeps ec at about 1600. made last few batches at 75% which kicks EC up to about 1800. undecided if I keep rocking high or drop to the fail-safe at 1600 when I do a res change in a few days. tough decision to make when I'm not looking at them until Friday

getting real tough to keep that tent closed!!! ec was creeping up. was upwards of 1900 before I refilled rez. never seem to have luck that high so I'll water her down today instead of refilling w nutes. have to do a water change at some point. hopefully this weekend I'll have the chance. hope the girls are doing alright in there ...

90% rez change. part b reduced to 50% to reduce N. had a chance to change rez and jumped on it. only spilled about 1/2 gallon of water on the floor, which for me is not bad. I assuming the girls are still alive cuz they really stinky today. one more day of no look and this horrible test of will power will be over.
๐๐ป

last night of no peeking. lights come on at 8pm. I'm chomping at the bit to open that tent lol stupid games I play, but there will be a lesson at the end I promise!!

it's been over a week since I opened the tent, oh my how they've grown. all this was done to alleviate anxiety from some of our newer growers. you don't need to fret over the plants everyday. no need to panic if you didn't check on them. however I do encourage people to spend as much time with them as they can. nothing better than just sitting and pondering amongst the ladies.
now onto the grow
2 seeds from same plant. both are expressing different phenos. one is showing lots of purple and smells slightly floral w a hint of lemon.
other looks just like mom. blonde and banging like lemon. you can really see the difference in the photo w the 2 colas side by side .
slight leaf claw, on new batch of nutes I use to top off I eliminated part b (calcium nitrate) and substituted cal mag to make up for it. I'll pump EC a little higher and then start topping off res w water or nutes as needed.
id love to try some of that ! looking great! I've been waiting for this update!! ๐
I was in suspense just reading through your grow, and I only had to wait a few minutes to find out... you must have been sobbing into the zippers by Thursday night! definitely looking pretty ๐ฅ
thanks!!!

how do you tell when she's done if your trichomes are purple? ๐๐๐
๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ Iโm going to use my photos as before and yours as after to try to promote the app ๐ look how good it made me ๐
anything for the app!!! ๐
lol
damn thatโs crazy beautiful.
thanks!!!
Badass.. just sayin. ๐ ๐
I really need to know how you got purple trichomes? it's not a play on light and reflection, is it?
no tricks or editing, just genetics. it's a double edge on that though. it's real pretty, crazy colors, great floral smell, but the bud structure is funky. I knew that going in when I bred it, had ambitions of tightening it up in subsequent generations but have since realized I don't have the time anymore
I have been looking at everything that is involved in breeding. It has gotten me very interested, to the point where my wife, who was against all of this in the first place is now encouraging me to do the research, and figure out what to start accumulating to accomplish the goal. My concern, is as you said, finding the time to do it .. โบ๏ธ
it's definitely time consuming. pop a seed, grow it, clone it in case it's a good one, flower it to realize it doesn't have the pheno your looking for, cull it and do it again. then if you find the one, grow the clone to breed with the male that you've also grew, cloned and culled who knows how many times. all to get seeds to grow and see what they have in them. labor of love!
Actually it sounds kind of serene. almost a zen thing when you get into the rhythm. Definitely going to need more room to grow, that's for sure...
space is helpful. when I was making seeds I didnt have that, so I only did I think 6 at a time. my buddy (only person outside the family I trust, and my tester) joked that I was growing weed for 2 years but never had any bud lol. 1 gallon pots of coco, grow big enough to clone and then immediately flip. now that I have a few F1s, my breeding is done half-assed outside. popped a bunch of seeds, kept 3 and hope for a male and female to get some f2s ๐ค
wow that's a hell of a way to do it. I am currently in my garage and very limited on space. I kind of have it divided into half and half again. I need my space for tools. Love tinkering on my cars, and I need space for all the wood shop stuff that we inherited. So much 2x4 is crammed in the back, at least the laundry room and filtered water is available right there. The wife finally took pitty on me, and is moving me into the spare bedroom for the time being. So enough to add a 5x5 for now at least. I would like to start messing with photos in there once I get it all dialed in.

things are looking ok. nothing major happening. I have a feeling the purple is going to finish quicker than the blond. would make sense. if I recall the ssh was a looooong flower and this one looks and smells just like it's haze mom. slightly apprehensive because I think things got a little wonky at the end of the haze run. I don't remember. I think it was that one ๐

bud structure on blonde pheno is much tighter than the purple pheno. if I recall correctly the Durban line I used had some airy bud structure but it had amazing colors, purple buds that after drying looked black. and since I'm a sucker for pretty flowers that's why chose it. lol
that's dope I have a plant that's expressing some pinkish purple coloring now I'm gonna try dropping temps at night a bit more and maybe throw some ice cubes on top the soil as it gets closer to being ripe and see if I can force some more colors out of it
that's awesome. I can't wait to see it! I haven't decided what I'm doing with these once we get closer to the end. chill them down, flush, finisher nutes, or one day alive next gone.
LOL one fork in the road leads to the next.
lol I always kind of randomly decide that tomorrow morning is the day. those pink trichs are pretty crazy though never had that happen yet
yep lol I always have a plan and then just say nope today's the day lol. that pink is gonna be stunning when those fall colors come in
beautiful!
found a stow away in the tent. I forgot about the clone I had thrown in the last bucket. she's struggling a little. roots look fine so she's just going along for the ride lol
girls plumping up. the one showing the durban phenos has some stringy buds, smells amazingly floral. the ssh pheno has better bud structure and stanks like lemon disinfectant. it's also starting to show more purple as it ages.
purple pheno: (Durban dad genes)
doing well overall. bud structure sucks but I knew that would be a possibility. smells very floral, very sticky to the touch. Easy grow overall, just like the Durban. nothing bothers it.
blonde pheno: (ssh mom genes)
good bud structure, smells like lemon floor cleaner. thick colas, stacking nicely. really taking after it's Mom the super silver haze. pain in the ass to grow. starting to show deficiencies. sensitive to pH fluctuations, high EC. it quickly lets you know when something is not right, hence why I called the ssh the canary in the coal mine. starting to show more purples, I think this thing is going to take forever to ripen.
dropped EC from 1400 down to 1100 in hopes to keep Blondie happier, gave a partial nute change. part a full dose. part b 50%. Epsom full dose. next round off nutes I'll up Epsom to 150% and throw in some silica for fun.
Two of my favorite cultivars. My first grow was Super Slivers. At the time I didnโt know that ssh was the deep end. fugd it up more runs than I care to share ๐ Now I always have a jar of super lemon haze
every time I grow the ssh I kick myself saying 'why do you do this to yourself' lol. but it smells soooo good. and it is so sticky, almost greasy sticky. I always like Durban. such a easy grow. this line had the purple buds I knew I had to carry it over with the sacrifice being the structure is very airy. I have a lambs breath x Durban that is straight race fuel. even at 20% amber you'll think you're blinking too loud.
panic attacks hahahaha donโt forget you smoked it,
oh well. on the plus side I'll have to refill the rez less ......
I can truly empathize with you. ๐คฌ
it's my own fault. I'm pretty sure pH stressed it out. been slacking and had not checked on the resi for a bit and when I did pH was in the 4.6's. ๐ฌ
Happens to the best of us... keep on keepin on!
still a solid cultivar though. hermi or not, looks amazing
thank you. with the grows you've been pumping out, I take pride in you saying that.
damn it. roots looked amazing
Mylared up the entire room! ha, love it lol
just a quick and dirty wet trim as it's getting turned it into hash after I chop it's tent mate. it had potential buuuttt it just wasn't in the cards this time.
damn. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ that nug looks good too
just out of curiosity I've had some nanners same time during flower just tho my set up is nothing like yours but aren't they still good to smoke
yes. there was no problem with it.
no seeds found in purple plant, not that it has time to grow them. hopefully I chopped it in time to not pollinate the other and so far no male flowers in this one so Im risking this one to go a little longer. she's plumping up but not drinking much. I'll gradually lower EC until I'm running just water, than axe her. I feel she can go a few more weeks but after the mishap of '25 (as I've come to call it) Ive lost interest in this grow, have relegated it to the hash bin and am thinking of the next one
I wish my issues we're more like yours! Lookin great to me!
thanks!!! I got lucky with a relatively easy grow this time, but trust me I've had issues and will again. for what it's worth, I think you're doing great on yours!!!
Thanks!
troubled grows are the best ones. it teaches you sooo much more. you'll overcome it and be a better gardener for it. and next time you may have the same issue, but you'll recognize it earlier and correct it. you learned, and that is the key to life, to learn.
smells great, looks rough, sticky as can be. neglect is a way of life in my house. dropping EC to 0 over the next bit. pH drops drastically every day. needs to hurry up and go to the gods. one downside (or upside) of not consuming much cannibus is I get to the finish line and stop caring. I want to get to the next seed to see what phenos we can get....... sometimes it sucks living 10 steps ahead in my head
looks good ! I hear I on the impatience.
she stopped taking water earlier last week and honestly I stopped caring for her after her tent mate intersexed. pushed nutes way too hard on this one. she's chopped and ready for the hash gods.
now the part of hydro I hate. drain and clean the system....๐ต
๐๐๐๐

nice setup ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
thanks. appreciate that. the 6 site in the veg area is same kind of setup. seems to work well for what I need it to do. took a bit to build it and chase the leaks, but I think it's running pretty good now
well bravo ๐ I can appreciate the work that went into that... I have a plumbing background so it may be a bit easier for me, but either way still takes time, planning and dedication!
