Grow Timeline (11 updates)
Momma Bear had some aggressive vertical growth seemingly overnight. I did some wiring yesterday and before bed time, the ends of the tied down branches had already started reaching up. Being my first grow, I’m learning fast and I’m really satisfied with the results so far. Getting stinky in here!
Just a quiet Sunday. Caught a few more gnats. I use the little garden rake thingy to fluff up the top 2” or so of the soil before I water so I can get a real sense of how dry or moist the top layer of soil is. The replacement fan leaves are showing up again. My aggressive chop the other day may have deprived us of a little photosynthesis, but the light-collectors are bouncing back.
fungus gnats pain in ass . try using mosquito bits or I been using Build a Soil WDG3000 works the best.
Even gnats can’t resist the beauty
My wife uses the Mosquito Bits on her house plants. I was more concerned about the roots taking up an incecticide and making my bud taste bad. Are they safe for weed?
definitely safe for weed & vegetables it not a pesticide more of a beneficial bacteria
u will use yellow sticky traps to see how much gnats u have & each week change the traps when u use the bits until the gnats are gone
u were saying something about raking the top layer to c if it's dry I have a 7 n 1 meter it test soil pH fertility moisture humidity and temp also guages lights red green blue .only 30$ Amazon that's what I use to water.or pick the pot up when it's wet and when it's dry then u know.also these must be autos ?
Yes, they’re autos. I gotta say, these have been really forgiving autos considering how I tortured them with bad light for weeks. I think they’re anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks behind where they should be. I bought an analog type “multi-scale” instrument and took it back because the analog scale is not accurate enough for me. I got it at Lowe’s on the cheap. Using the little rake is handy because I can get it into places I can’t fit my big fat paws. Aerating the soil never hurts, and it makes it easier for top amendments to mix into the soil.
Right on! I’m gonna use them then. Thanks!
It’s been a minute since I posted pics of my babies. They’re thickening up where it counts, except for one. Someone had asked if this plant was in re-veg because of her single-bladed leaves. Well, it seems she was reveging. So far, I’ve committed just about every auto flower no-no there is. They’re not supposed to reveg, they’re not supposed to be repotted after an accident, (more to follow), and they’re not supposed to last this long!
The reveg: I mentioned previously how I had done a extensive defoliation. I just lost track, and was talking on the phone at the same time. Bad idea. I had also adjusted the lights to 18/6 after reading autos don’t care. Well guess what, they do. Between the defol and the lights, they went into shock. I have since been back to a 12/12 and they seem to be catching up. The problem child is transitioning back into flower a little slower than her tent mates.
Ugly leaves: As if the single blades aren’t ugly enough, I have been tearing my hair out over whether this damage is nutrient burn, nutrient deficiency, over water, under water…I decided to flush her. I ran 3 gallons through her over several hours. The first run off was at 5.6Ph and 1800ppm. The TDS was 200 when I was done. That’s tap level solids here. I used baking soda to raise the Ph and added about 1200ppm of Tiger Bloom. I plucked most of the nacrotic leaves and now I’m seeing far fewer.
The little guy: While I was aggressively chopping that day, I managed to chop a small branch. Just to see what would happen, I gave it to my wife to plant in her propogation glasses. Seemed like it took a really long time, but we saw roots and immediately planted her in soil. It wasn’t looking good from the start, but there’s actually new growth. I doubt it will survive much longer, but we’ll see. All for now!
is thar how they just grew ..or is it a re-veg...the leaves are odd for a cannabis plant to only have one or two leaves instead of 7 or more
The singles, doubles and triples are new leaves. that’s how all the leaves have started, then they’ll start two new fingers near the stem, maybe two more. I’ve defoliated several 7 finger leaves. This was kind of an aggressive defoiliation.
