Grow Timeline (17 updates)
looks happy to me ! nice and green (:
Thank you! Appreciate it
Looks like she'll survive man. Congrats! Pop the dome back on a few days and then watch her go!
Thank you for the reassurance, highly appreciate it
put a little clear cup over top. to keep the humidity up
Thank you for the tip, but since I'm a first time grower please excuse my questions. The tent has a temperature of around 23 celcius (74 Fehrenhite) and humidity fluctuates between 54-57%. Will the bottle top make it too humid for the baby? Or is it okay if the humidity goes up over my range?
should be good to dome it for a day or 2 and see if it helps. if not I'd say just give it a little more time it looks like it's still just out of germination
Thank you so much to the both of you for this reassurance, not gonna lie for an hour or two I thought that it's the end 😂😂respect for your assistance and advices
no problem. I'm a beginner as well. my first grow currently so I understand completely.
there you go!, how far away do you have your light and what is it for watts, I have roughly 400w at about 35 inches above my seedlings and they seem to be liking that, leaves are getting bigger every day.
I paid the price of a newbie when I bought the light and it produces 36W which is very low, but decent at the current stage. It's placed around 30cm away from the plant. My new light should arrive tomorrow or after which should help out alot
yeah I would say your light probably has most of the blame to take for them being a bit stunted on you. I'm learning new things every day, you can definitely run cheaper lights as long as their actual draw watts are 100-200 watts they say you want at least 400 watts for a 4x4 tent from what I've read and it all depends on how many plants your running.
I'm using a 2x2 tent, my guts told me that 400W would crisp anything in there so I went with the 200W and yeah learned from my mistake on trying to save on the light, thankfully it was a cheap mistake 💡💡😅😅
exactly!!! and it's all fun anyway, worst case we try again
Absolutely correct!
see i went with super cheap lights aswell just as a test, I got two 50 dollar 200w actual draw full spectrum lights off temu as funny as that sounds and they have been working great so far, my babies are 6 days in and looking pretty good I think. I also habe a photoperiod plant in there to veg and it's grown great. so I don't think it's as much about the price of the light just the actual draw watts and it being full spectrum
Oh wait so 200W temu light is the cheap alternative?? How expensive are LED lights in general 😂😂 both my lights are from Temu, first one was the cheap temu and the second expensive temu. But I suppose both go into the cheap category in LED lights 😂😂😂😂
oh bud yeah I was mind blown when I actually started looking at real lights like spider farmer 2000 or mars lights or vivison lights, I mean for a quality light with a dimmer and the watts to do a whole tent your gonna pay anywhere from 250- 1000$ just depends how much you wanna spend and how many plants your gonna be growing. yeah any light from temu is gonna be a cheap alternative but like I said they may just work. im definitely gonna find out either way lol
The one I got from Temu has a dimmer too and I got it for almost 100$ let us wait and see what I get in 3 days time 😂😂😂😂
sounds like that should work fine man! dimmer is a awesome thing to have, I found higher humidity to start for the seedlings is better also theg love 70 plus % humidity
Yeah now I have to buy a circulation fan and a humidifier since we are gonna enter veg state soon
yeah those are super important, definitely important for the seedlings stage also due to needing higher humidity and some wind to strengthen the stem. once in veg the humidity can come down slightly then in flower it can come down even more
I'm not even sure how my plant has survived then 🤣. my light is a 16w. 1900 lumens. cheap grow light from Amazon. my plant is doing good tho
APICDOM LED, 16w, 120v, spectrum: 5000k + 660nm, Lumen: 1900, PPF 27, PPE 1.7. this is my light 😭 my plant is over 2ft now tho
Ur a Dragon fam, you mythical creatures have super powers 😂😂😂🐲🐲🐲
16W should not be efficient whatsoever for a cannibis plant, atleast that's what I know from my research. It could maintain to a certain stage and then it either dies or development becomes extremely slow. Did it go through the whole cycle on a 16W light?
Planning on getting and installing the fan by tomorrow
honestly very impressed with how your plant has done under that light! very excited to see how she flowers through for you! I have one of those same lights aswell I used it for a few days before I got my bigger ones and I let my woman use it as a house plant light now. thats cool man
yea it did lol I haven't changed lights yet cause I'm low on funds but she hasn't stopped yet so I have just been watching her grow and hoping for the best lol.
same 🤣 I bought it to start with but she has been growing pretty nicely so I just been going with the flow. could it possibly be the mylar I have on my wall ? I know it's great for light reflection and it is way better than aluminum foil cause that will burn your plants
So you're telling me that since I have mylar too that my 36W light was enough and I didn't need to buy the 200W one? 😭😭Pocket is crying
I mean that's all I can think of lol that's the main difference in my grow since I don't have a tent I got some mylar cheap and put it on the wall. and as you see my light is shit but idk.
no your definitely gonna have better bud production and happier plants with a better light, it's definitely not a waste of money in the end. I promise.
my next grow I will hopefully have at least a good light. I'm gonna try and get a small tent maybe a 2x2 or so. but for now mostly worried about the light
Can't wait to see what you'll produce with the proper kit 😏
isn't it baffling some days how resilient these plants are !
Big time!!! I thought it's gonna die a million times in the first week alone 😂😂
once it hits that growth spurt it's on and poppin
Next feed will be with a fertilizer and her first, big gains coming in. Hopefully it stops stretching though, because it increased a cm if not a little more now and it's kinda still too thin 😅
if it stretches to much just bring the light a little closer
not at all....looks good so far
looks great
Thank you for the confirmation!!!
looks great!
u can always add some more soil to minimize stretch & keep seedlings from falling over . looks good
it looks really good but if you are concerned you could add some more potting soil to restringing the roots.
looking good !!! I'd say a few more days maybe a week tops and you should be good to transplant. but a tip for the future. once you are able to get seeds if you get autoflower plant them in the pot you want it to stay in. autoflowers don't really like transplanting to much and it will slow down the growth by a few days. you can get some 3 gallon cloth pots for cheap they work great
Ah okay, well noted. For a second I thought you called out this plant to be auto flower and I was bamboozled, then I had to read again 😂😂😂
looking nice. she's growing good now
Indeed she is, can't wait for her to settle in her final home so she can hit that crazy growth
looks to me like you are on your third node. I'd start with the first set of leaves that have the red color stem. count that as first node. then every time it branches off count as one. I'd get to at least 4 before you top her. but she's looking nice now
Great to hear that, thank you for the feedback bro appreciate it. Any idea why the stems turned purple? I read it could be from old so I lifter her off the ground and placed her on a small box
all of my fan leaves stems turn purplish red. I usually end up trimming those off but if wait till later on when you start doing some stress training and stuff like that.
Ah okay, I really appreciate you man. I keep on stressing since it's my first plant and ur always comforting me 😅😅mad respect!!!
no problem broski. I'm in the same boat only a little further along 😂 I've spent the last 4 months studying everything I can.
She's looking happy buddy
looking good
Looks nice man!
it looks good .if that's a auto id germanate in the same pot u plan on growing with .a transplant on a auto is enough of a pickup to compromise your harvest that lil stress on a auto will screw up your harvest .I'm running autos my first time and I realized that half way through
I geniuenly have no idea if it's an auto or not, it's a seed from the stuff I get from my plug. I literally have no idea if 8ts feminized, auto or not, I do not even know the strain 😂😂😂
Just to be safe. remember. when you want it to go into flower just swap the light cycle to 12/12 BUT before you do that. put her on straight dark for 24 hours. that way even if it is a autoflower it will trick it into flower mode. then after the 24 hours dark go 12/12. ALSO remember when she flips to flower she will grow 2-3x her size during flower so keep that in mind when you decide to flip her to flower mode.
Please note that when I topped her off, the nodes were smaller that the stem I cut or almost same size.
is this a Auto or a photo if it's a auto u might compromise your harvest.if it's a photo u good 💯
I have no idea what it is, so I'm praying it's a photo
to be honest it looks like a auto .I think they have weird shaped trunks too
she deff liked getting topped off my boii 😆😆
This comment is scaring me, hopefully she's not an auto but if she is it's fine atleast now I know what I have on me. And I also have a second one growing up just now from the same strain so I should be safe!
I'm praying she did brother!
Don't worry to much broski. Most people top their plant regardless if it's auto or photo. 90% of the videos I watch are of autos now a days because they are easier and faster to grow. she's definitely looking good
She'll be fine. Looks healthy and that's what matters
Indeed!
it will be fine regardless it's not going to die by all means .if it is a auto they usually go in bud approximately by 30 days .autos I prefer to lst over top .but yea id pay attention from now on if it a auto or a photo
hello I'm growing AK-47 but I don't know if it's a auto how do you know if it's a auto this my first time growing in a grow tent and I don't know my difference in strains
Same here brother, I have no idea if what I'm growing is a female or a male and neither do I know if it's an auto or photo 😂😂😂
look at the toolbox under your profile. there is a short video showing the difference between. Basically, if not herm, balls say it's male (pollen sacks) and hairs are female.
This one I can, but can't tell between auto and photo
Ahh. I'm not sure either if you can tell. I made a "Menu" of all of the Genetics I have to tell me all the variables the seed grower stated for optimal growth and I out that info in there also so I don't loose it .
looking good. I would go ahead and snip some of those big fan leaves. she will pump those other leaves out quicker. I did see one leaf that had a little damage but shouldn't be a problem.
Looks like powder mildew you can use baking soda and soap in a spray bottle
what the humidity in the grow room ?
Usually between 50-60% might go too high or too low for an hour or two very occasionally.
I'll be doing that if I see it again, any specific measurements?
are you using tap water in your humidifier?
Yes I am
shouldn’t be getting powdery mildew if it’s 60% . can be few other issues . can also be u need cal mag . with cal mag some has little nitrogen in it so watch how much u use in flower . also examine plant for pests like spider mites , whiteflies . get in there with magnifying glass & look around different areas .
that’s a good observation. good looking six . use distilled water .
u going to need to get distilled water or install ro system. I have filter & it still will leave residue on walls & equipment. I never had issues with my leaves . also make sure u cleaning that humidifier every 10 days . gets nasty & u don’t want bacteria buildup
I'll get on the magnifier part as soon as she wakes up.
Then that is most probably the case, I do need to give the humidifier a good old clean up. Thank you everyone for this amazing response and help I really appreciate it
sucks having to buy so many bottles of distilled water . what humidifier u using ? I running ac infinity & I have the hose running into tent & still produces film over walls & equipment & needs to be constantly wiped down & that’s filtered water . I will hook an RO system. wastes a lot of water & costly . humidifier still needs to be cleaned out a lot & they do make a water softener product, I not sure how effective it is u can always ask around & see if anyone uses it & make sure it compatible for machine u have . good luck
Unfortunately I am using a humidifier without a brand😂😂😂 currently too broke to buy a proper one, atleast it's doing the job of keeping humidity in the wanted range. I'm also in a country that does not have 90% of the stuff you guys use in the US and Europe to grow so I'm mainly relying on alternatives at the moment
also use white vinegar to clean the humidifier. whatever works & gets the job done . this plant has been growing way before people started messing with it . what country u in ?
Let's just say I'm from the middle east in public if you're interested/live in the area/or you wanna visit hit me up in the DM 😂😂😂 then the humidifier will get the bath of her life today
I completely understand where u coming from , it ok . I spent 7 years in federal prison for growing . I’m in ny & it legal here now & allowed 12 plants or I wouldn’t be risking it . price per pound these days isn’t worth it . use to get $4500 - $6500 per pond now u lucky to get $800 . stay safe & I will definitely hit u up in DM when I get a minute later
Niiice, my brother is living in NY right now so this means I have to pass by when I visit him.
I originally from manhattan. where ur brother at
My basement operation is a mildew magnet, it seems. My research suggests hydrogen peroxide treatments are the ticket. I am using 3% hydrogen peroxide at a 1 to 9 concentration w/distilled water. That's 3 oz to 27 oz in a spray bottle and soak the hell out of the plants. Every other day for 2 weeks should kill it completely. It's also important to remove affected leaves
exactly what I was about to say baking soda and peroxide n water to clean all around the plants don't use bleach in flower could messing all up.But clean anywhere you see that and on walls n floor n everywhere u can clean .
Yes you can use 1 tablespoon of baking soda 1 tablespoon of soap in 1 litre of water then you can add that into a spray bottle 👌
Thankfully it's not powder mildew but now I have added a new remedy to my book thanks to you
Glad to help, did you manage to find out what it was?
Yeah it's from my humidifier, because I'm not using distilled water
Oh wow !!! She's growing a lot now. You have a second one going as well ?
Yes sir, there is a beast growing behind her and she's too bushy compared to the previous one at the same age
Hey that's what's up. Remember it never hurts to trim those fan leaves. Especially if it gets to bushy.
Yeah I'm trimming but little by little. Will probably give her a heavy trim one week before going into flower. Just waiting on her to grow 7-10cm taller then I'm switching her
Nicee. Keep it up she's looking good.
Looking good bro
nice let's go gromey
Thanks! Too excited for it
