Grow Timeline (18 updates)
tried watering today a bit heavier (never have had water runoff yet)
I do believe it may be over-watered. Do you wait until til the pot is completely dry b4 watering? Cannabis loves having a dry back period for those roots to stretch
so ive never actually had water run off. now im finding out over watering refers to how often you do it? didint let it get completly dry between but i will try that too

yes let it get completely dry b4 watering again. Just bc she isn't having run off doesn't mean you aren't giving her enough water. I pour 2 gallons into my 15 gal pot and I hardly get any run off but I still wait until she is bone dry
alright awesome will do, thank you!!
Happy Growing!!! π
hopefully root devolpment causing the little growth
what soil u using ? might not need any bottle nutrients yet . I make my own soil mix using pro mix as the base & I wonβt feed for 5-6 weeks . soil has enough to start . also watch how much u using . use 1/4 strength of nutrients then what they say in early veg & goto a half after . these companies want u to go thru em so u buy more . dial it down & u be ok . also u can top dress using earthworm castings & crab meal
otherwise u look ok
thank you for that, so i used one feeding of bottle nutrience days ago (when this nutrient burn popped up 2 days later) within week 2, one pot is full fox farm soil, (the blue bag with worm castings and stuff) the other one has the top inch fox farm soil the other some generic amazon organic soil (since i ended up running out)
if u using Ocean Forest then that soil has nutrients for 5 weeks or more . are u knew to growing cannabis? remember more nitrogen in veg phase . I would wait to bottle feed for now . just top dress every 2-3 weeks & u be ok . takes a little while for the nutrients to break down so it harder to burn plants
yeah this is my first grow, only bottle fed once and i will definetly hold off doing more nutrience for awhile, is it normal that the plant seems to pause growth on the top since its working on root development?
might just seem like that or the amount of nutrients slowed it down . are they Photperiod plants ? if they are u be ok . just donβt micromanage these plants & they will grow . we always feel we need to do something & they grew along time without our help . watch u donβt overwater either that slows growth . just top dress it with earth worms & some type of dry amendments that have a higher N ratio & when it flowers u go lower in the nitrogen & higher in Phosphorus & Potassium. I like down to earth crab meal & kelp meal w/ earth castings to top dress
yeah they are photoperiod, i tend to overthink and question myself on all the hobbies and new things i learn, also i do have cal mag, what signs or circumstances do i look for to know when i should introduce a bit of that?
also thank you for all this help tooπ―π―
we all do it . I been doing this for over 40 years & still want to do something. just our nature . cal mag can be strain depending & if u using tap water that not filtered u generally have enough in the water . wait to see signs of pale leaves or some rust spots . u can add garden epsom salt to the soil mix or do light top dress & bone meal for calcium. mostly hydro & coco coir are cal mag deficient so just look out for pale leaves. should be ok .
what do you guys do about plant height differences and light levels? raise the whole pit up with a riser? i have a 3d printer. also why did this one leaf just shrivel up and die randomly but everything else is healthy
If your light has a intensity meter, crank it right up. If you can lower the light closer to the plant, do it. If you need to raise the plant higher, try that. She def looks like she wants to stretch!
bet imma 3d model n print a nice riser for it tonight
Hell yeah Growmie
got my first ppm meter and my run off is 2000 after underdoing the nutrience amount, this is from fox farm soil, also found out my tap water is over 1000 and i thought my meter was broke. in filtered water it was only 10. where do i go from here, and did i fuck over my grow?
why is one so much shorter? is it the difference in strains? im thinking of flipping end of week 6, thoughts?
yes if there photos u can top them if u have 6 nodes . plenty of videos on topping on u tube if u never did it before and some stress training
ones indica heavy and the other has more sativa in it sativa's have thinner leaves indica have wider leaves and tend to grow out bushy
Yes look normal to me you start giving fertilizer
thoughts? any tips? havent fed nutrience in a week since i burned it last time a bit, going to today with a light feed
50% humidity 76 degrees, also getting sticky traps and the diamotaceous earth or whatever for the light fungus gnat issue
always use less then what bottle says. use 1/2 going into flower stage . companies want u to buy more bottles. u doing good π
for that size plant I wouldn't push to hard yet in a few weeks she should fill out more, I flipped early on one of grows and it affects yield
so i heard it can get up to 3x the size, its almost half my tent height currently , i think i need a taller tent for the future though?
top the plant & use other training techniques & u be ok . tie downs will help
If you look at my grow I had to do a lot of LST to keep the canopy from getting too tall before swapping to flower. Lol 15 gal pot and a 5 foot tent was a bit if a challenge
3d printing stand thats taller to raise height of the left plant, make it even with the other for the light
redid the fan setup and light setup to allow me to put the light almost 10 inches higher if needed
tommorow another flower nutrience feed, using the GH 6 part feeding schedule now
new 3d printed riser for height on the left plant, 2 gallons of GH Nutrience water, (quarter strength
Great work on your first grow! If I could recommend anything for next round: 1) Invest in a new LED light. Blue/purple lighting is kinda obsolete tech, it will limit your yield and cause a lot of distance between nodes on your plant (making it stretchy and thin) 2) Utilize your scrog net differently. Double net setup is smart, but it looks like you let the plant grow straight through it instead of using it for training a horizontal cannopy
what do you think of the spider farmer sf1000? im planning on making a smart spiderfarmer setup next grow, also i thought scrog nets were for spreading out the plants a bit to let light in more, i will look into that more, is it too late?
SF1000 is decent, will be a solid upgrade for you. Honestly though, I highly recommend looking into getting some kind of bar-style LED grow light that's the same size as your tent. I wish I'd done that instead of getting a "matrix board" style light like the SF1000 For the scrog: The highest point of the plant gets the most energy distributed to it (due to a hormone called Auxin). If you keep the plant flat, then you get a bunch or really nice equal-ish branches instead of one massive middle one and a bunch of larfy ones on the sides. Also, since we're growing indoors, having a horizontally flat cannopy (like a table) makes the most efficient use of our indoor lighting. Check my grow and you can see a little but about what I mean, especially in my timelapses where I keep flattening. Not sure if I'd recommend stressing the plants now that you're already in flower, but you could definitely get away with it if you're brave enough π
if you want a "smart setup", I hear AC infiniti is top dog. i have all vivosun gear and it's good enough for me. Haven't heard many reviews on the spiderfarmer ecosystem
initially i was def a bit of a pussy topping aswell as thinking some bends would kill the plantsπ€£ def a next grow thing, also i didint know ac inifinity can be used with vivosun. thought it was its own system. def looking into it
have a recomendation on a grow light company MARS HYDRO LED Grow Light https://a.co/d/65ATFNB thinking of this for my 1 foot x 2 foot tent
You can use any tent with any automation system, you just have to make sure your lights and fan (and maybe accessories) are compatible with the automation system. For lights, I've heard the Floraflex 700w is a steal in terms of price to quality ratio. ac infinity ion frame is supposed to be great. spiderfarmer SE series. vivosun vsfl
yes I use AC Infinity Ion bar light and I love it.
i tried taping it. like alotof it was connected. main stem too...
cut it with scissors above a node it will be fine I'm fact you'll grow 2.mains .it will be fine people top there plants all the time I topped mine like 5 different times in one plant
even in flower?
well if it's in flower your pretty screwed I'd try to tape it then .but if it dies at least u will be able to salvage what u have left
yeah i gave it 4 days and ended up cutting it. it will let more energy go to the other ones, im chalking this up to first grow mistakes
I lost a branch early on to a big one in bud I feel your pain
Couldnt you if you got it to live reveg it....maybe?
Tbh i ended up taking the L on that and took it as a learning experience lol, Already harvested this awhile ago. The new stuff is growing insane though especially as a 2nd grow
i cut the main branch of the plant the fan fell on and have 2 really nice branches left for that, i have since replaced every hanger cord/wire with strong ratchet straps so i can adjust height when needed and just keep them way more secure.
that happens to all of us wither your new or not accidents happen don't take it so hard there resilient plants she'll recover.but I like the fact u learn from your mistakes
I have it curing in grove bags, had a sample and it is phenominal, surprisingly smooth off the bat and has a great smell, tent was at 50 percent humidity, i also put it in a jar after trim with a 58 to 62 percent humidity pack (1 day) before transferring to grove bags. i have since ordered a moisture meter (didint know those existed)
since this light isnt the best, and im upgrading, aswell as i have a new carbon filter. im getting a new tent, and a new inline fan and stuff. i will be keeping 2 exotic strains as mother plants and get a 3x3 or similar size and keep pulling clones off them. can't wait to show yall the journey
how do u finish up your grow computer wise ? I'm done just haven't figured out how to finish my grow here ? shlux makes a cheaper high watt light one the experienced guys showed me 800 watts for just under 300$ it's full spectrum has Samsung bulbs he says they grow nice buds
spell correction that's szhlux light for under 300$ full spectrum 800 watts they have a 845 too
just hang it in a dark area with good ventilation and just above 50% humidity
i just pressed the finished button like any other cycle, might have to scroll to the side a bit on that bar
got it at 60 ish, its in grove bags rn curing
i ended up going with the mars hydro bar light, i will now also be running a smart setup too

mars hydro decent I have ts series getting ready for work hopefully all weekend I wanna get some serious power ! like 800 -1000 then I'll grow some serious buds ones on my 150 watt turned out nice had a 5 ft plant got 3 ozs out of her way passed my first record and captured some good terps my alphabet runtz taste like dank bubble gum
my recommendations is to watch this video https://youtu.be/g-o2HCLmivs?feature=shared #1 most important thing. focus on your enviroment. temp + humidity = Vapor Pressure Deficit (VPD) VPD is key not raw humidity values. the better your environment the faster the growth. you can have the best genetics and nutrients but a bad environment will ruin a grow. -Use your light efficiently. a plant can only photosynthesize so much light in a day. eveything else essentially just bounces off and is wasted. the hours/ppfd measurement looks pretty close on that chart -If using Gen Hydro they have a great feed chart that is pretty accurate on their website. just follow it and pick a PH and stick to it. there are arguments for maintaining the same PH through out the grow. -waiting a month to top? Iβm already on or close to my second topping at that point. you can top in ~2 weeks. once you have 3 nodes and more than 3 fingers on a leaf go for it.
I have had good results following the low feed chart from the GH site, the aggressive feed is to much for my liking. Just for curiosity I might try doing the GH Ironhead chart where you don't use gro at all
The EC or PPM is a big factor for me with GH nutes, I'm just starting flower with 2 plants using GH and I'm feeding between 1.7ec - 2.0ec and they are doing good there, I'm using 6 parts
they used to have it split between hydro and DTW charts and there was just 1 strength. I used to have a bunch of DTW charts printed out if I could find them. looking at the current set up what I did was probably similar to the 10 part medium feed schedule. the iron head chart looks interesting. it would be fun to do tests and see what turns out best
I just found out Monsanto bought GH nutes and they are buying up pretty much anything cannabis related they can get their hands on
when they did that I tried finding other nute companies (fox farms, advanced, emerald harvest) as a replacement but gen hydro was the best. I havenβt tried Athena or new millennium but I hear they are good and I donβt think they are owned by the devil. between Monsanto and Scottβs Miracle Grow they are taking over the market.
yeah i picked up some of their ph up amd down and cal mag, very happy with their product quality so i am switching nutrients to that, also funny thing is my farm town ace hardware has their full line of products, so its even convienient (surprising too)
I think the company is called Hawthorne and it's owned by Monsanto and they are buying everything they possibly can
that makes it really convenient. I have to order everything from Amazon and it can be a pain when they mess up the shipping.
