Grow Timeline (72 updates)
initially my runoff reading for my big plant was closer to the 8000 range. 😅 stupid me. after flushing once I got it to about 4k. which wasn't good. but had flushed almost 7 gallons of water. so I stopped there and let her bounce back. about a week later I flushed again. getting my runoff to about 600. using distilled water. since have been using tap learning it has alittle cal mag in it. it was bright yellow. has definitely darkened up some. trying to make sure I don't make that mistake again.
I made a mistake the other day doing some lst. broke the end of a branch off. 😅 main branch closest to the dirt. so I hope i made the right decision just snipping it off completely. also tried to move my light over alittle bit to try and help the side branches catch up to the tops. not sure if that was a good call either 😅 guess we will see.
got a 400w ac infinity light to replace to 200w one. took a minute to figure it all out and dial it in. thinking of moving the carbon filter and exhaust fan outside of the tent to gain that extra foot up top for later. I'll feed her lightly tomorrow as she should be dry.
planned to do a light feed today however water uptake wasnt as it was before so gonna wait on that. checked the ph in the little ones water reservoir and it was high. due to the slight color change to tips of leaves I'm gonna let it dry out and flush. believe I got some salt build up and incorrect pH. got some ph buffer packets to recalibrate ph pen for when I do go to feed or water next. moved the carbon filter outside the tent to help reduce clutter and potentially have more control over the temp. saw some good recovery on the big one so did some lst and light trim on damaged leaves.
just a heads up, that inline fan will vibrate your floors. if you're trying to stay incognito you'll hear and feel that fan when it's on its higher settings. if you don't care, it's a great place for it. it's how I have mine😁😁 happy growing!!!
the only time I ever here it at 10 is in the bathroom thats above the tent.
ez money, nice job bringing it back 👏
appreciate it. now just gotta get the little one right. made the mistake of not checking ph of swr. so letting everything dry out alittle. coral dream in the 5 gal will get a light feed and once I get pandalorian in the fabric pot to dry out ill get it flushed to try and correct ph.
of course I was alittle soft on the plant at first. topped it later than I should have. lst was prolly less than it could have been. wondering if I'd be better off untieing the branches. or do you just keep pulling it out from the center. also I had planned to flip to flower a week from today as it would have been 6 week veg on the big one and 4th week on the small one. should I push it off a few more weeks?
I am by no means an experienced grower, so take what I say with a grain of salt but when I'm in veg I'm constantly trying to keep the canopy level by pulling down tops. you can keep veg going as long as you want with considering room for stretching. I shoot for 6 weeks veg. I always keep in mind that sativa dominate strains will stretch more and flower a few weeks long than indica. I love to make mistakes, it means the plants wants to teach me something 😉
I had been trying to give the younger one time to mature some. I think I'm gonna go ahead and wait a few more weeks. I think I stressed it too much. so its definitely teaching me lol
imma admit something. 😂🤣😅 I had been using ph down is had laying around from a pool we had. 🤓 no longer using that as I've learned quite about about the different compound used in that vs hydroponics plants. suspect I've been fighting salt build up and nute lockout. along with ph fluctuation. so tossed that. now using general hydroponics ph down. and for ph up using athena balance that came with my starter kit. yesterday I flushed pandalorian in the fabric pot. over night it took off. had been having some weird ass leaves growing that were more round than pointed. much better now. today flushed coral dream in the 5 gal and drilled some additional holes in the sides around the bottom with an 8th in drill bit. added the net to help spread out some of the tops. any trimming recommendations that can be made are greatly appreciated. along with any advice on anything else.
been doing a bunch of research. after going through this flushing faze about 4 to 5 times now. I had come to the conclusion I was fucking something up. atleast I feel like I've only flushed instead of feed. I had been using the wrong ph down. and also using tap water left out with air stones and pump for 24 hrs. I now got one of the Brita fosit filters. got some recharge and some raw enzymes to help get these girls back on track. already showing good signs so far. Will post an update picture later.
gave both about a half gallon to 3/4 of a gallon of water with some raw enzyme and some recharge last night. showing some good signs of green. started going by the bottom of the soil in the 5 gal bucket and checking the drain holes to see if soil is dry or not. gonna water when it gets dry at bottom instead of top. getting a good even little canopy of both.
gave both a light feed last night. ec was around 800 ppm was around 500. after giving it enzymes and recharge 2 days ago it seemed to have picked up dry back rate. after light feed pandalorian healthy plant tested 1.7 ec and about 700 ppm. big one that I've been fighting with tested runoff of 1.0 on ev and about 490 ppm. lower growth on the plant has started to green up more. so feeling better about that. gonna keep monitoring runoff and make sure I don't over feed anymore. I will water pandalorian in a few days with plain ph water. and I believe coral dream will be getting another light feed.
was still alittle wet. so decided to wait another day. gonna water pandalorian in the fabric pot and do another light feed on coral dream in the 5 gal bucket. just trying to get alittle color back to coral dream before I decide to flip. just wanna get the nutrient side of things sorted first. she has some leaves start turning purple on the edges after yellowing a bit
so 2 nights ago I light fed both plants. everything checked out. except runoff of ph on both plants had fallen to like 5.63 with initial ph of 6.52. so I left it at the moment made sure my pen was calibrated. last night/this morning I planned to moderate feed coral dream and water pandalorian. run off ph was still low in the 5.6 range. so I did kinda a buffer flush with ph water of 7.4 and got the ph to about 6.2 new growth looks kinda green. was able to get the net down alittle tighter spaced out the branches. now to wait
first of all get that power socket out of the tent. sure fire way to blow shit up hahaha. I wouldn't scrog them unless you raise the smaller pot up to the canopy. keep it even for light distribution. even then you will need to LST so make sure your node stems are even. you might have to supercrop to slow the taller stems down and get them even. looks like to me overwatering. dry your girls out and water 10 to 15% of the pot capacity. your girls may have the beginnings of nute lockout don't worry about run off just yet.
its been almost 3 months. ill get the socket out of the tent. but bases are my nutrients aren't in check and I gotta get that right right so I can flip. only reason for net is for plant 2 to 3 weeks older than other. Just been waiting to switch till nutes are right. Im trying.. Will try raising other plant. on numerous occasions considered transplanting to fabric pot.
to start the nitrogen is off, the lime colour of the leaves indicates this, which will turn yellow in time and die. you can see the difference between the plants so it would be a great idea to get rid of the plastic and repot in a 7 gal fabric. get some MYCO to the add some microbe's to really help it along. the new soil will have nutes so just water. ph 6.5 ( or there abouts ) I found that just to make sure they are not locked, use a flushing solution before a transplants. (transplants are super stressfull for them) to start fresh. I use clean cut by field marshal. amazing stuff.. when you've done everything you can, might aswell just clean her out and start slow again.
think I washed all the ph buffer in the media out from flushing over and over on top of hitting week 8 in veg. currently waiting on some dolomite lime to add to top soil. ph keeps dropping to 5.66 from 6.8.
Root rot can influence soil pH, and soil pH, in turn, can affect the development and severity of root rot. Several studies indicate that soil pH plays a significant role in the susceptibility of plants to root rot diseases. For instance, a somewhat acidic soil pH (pH 6) was found to be more conducive to root rot caused by Fusarium graminearum compared to an alkaline pH (pH 8). Additionally, soil pH influences the microbial communities in the soil, which can either suppress or promote the growth of pathogens.
Soil microbe life is extremely critical and not talked about enough outside of commercial cultivation. “Feed the soil, the plant feeds itelf”, is such a great expression. There are very easy introductions to increase and stabilize the microbial life of the soil. I always recommend mycos, or fungi, that help with root nutrient intake. I also recommend products from Microbe Life Hydroponics that introduce new and different kinds of bacteria and fungi to the soil that helps with Nitrogen fixing and as previously mentioned, pathogen control.
Do you use Cannazym or other enzymes in your grow.
I have got some recharge and raw enzymes.
it definitely wasnt something that was talked about when looking into all this and starting this journey lol.
I appreciate it. I was hesitant on if it was dry enough to water today and so I didn't. figured that was the better call with what you've suggested.
I take it it's just your P. H. problem, as your plants look healthy enough to me, just keep doing what you doing and it might sort itself out, but hopefully all is well. Happy growing mate. 👍
I think im on the verge of root rot if I don't have it already. may have been watering too often and maybe too much. which would explain the ph issue like six stated. its been an ongoing issue. also it's in a 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in it. so maybe not drying back enough
was given some really helpful advice. from now on gonna be checking my ph pen anytime I use it. added a cup of recharge and enzyme ph to 6.46. was also told to dilute my general hydroponics ph down with water. which made it 10x easier to manage.
.8 ec 440 ppm. grow a and b and calmag. trimmed up some of the lower stuff to help her bush out alittle more on the top. its nice to see her color return.
i havent tried soil in a long time but the fabric pot looks pretty good. maybe try to drill some holes on the sides of the plastic bucket might help? I've never tried it but I dont think it would hurt anything in veg anyway.
I did. not too long ago. whole bottom third of the bucket has a 1/4 whole about an inch apart. it has definitely made a huge improvement. along with calibrating my pen more often. diluting the ph down with water before using it.
oh ok cool. 😎
will say im glad the bigger one is gaining alittle color back. however other one seems to be going alittle lighter.. id say they are the same color currently. not sure what im doing wrong honestly.
your plant in the orange bucket looks overwatered and it’s deficient, which might be because it’s overwatered. get that plant out of the bucket and into a felt pot
I would say id be closer to the underwater ing side. only been watering about 1 liter at a time every 2 3 days. and from the bottom only. feeding from the top. it soaks it all up from the bottom. I did just do a pretty heavy trim. getting it hopefully ready to flip before too long. of you go back to my previous post you can see how much better she looks. shes definitely got a deficiency. but slowly getting better. unsure if I actually had root rot creating low ph acidic root zone. or if I was not being accurate enough on water ph witch caused it to drift way down.
also instead of feeling the soil only I've been lifting the bucket to see if its light or not.
and im too much of a chicken shit to transplant her to a fabric pot. I've definitely learned my lesson on that. wont be using plastic anymore. 😅
droopy puffy leaves = overwatering. droopy leaves and stems = underwatering. these plants have been overwatered for sure since your post on the 19th imo. your leaves should be praying to the sun god to give them photosynthesis, not droopy and depressed like a cloudy wet day.
don’t be chicken. get you a 7 gallon pot or something. if you got a dremel or cut off wheel just cut that bucket off. the roots will recover. throw some Myco or Recharge on them they will be good to go.
see how your other plants leaves are pointing up? that’s because it’s not drowning and the roots can get oxygen.
actually if you have help to transplant it. have someone to help pick up the bucket and turn in upside down. one person put their hands flat on the soil on each side of the base. the other person can spank the bottom and sides the get it to move. then still holding by the base the bucket spanker can put one hand on the bottom of roots and the side of plant flip it back over and put in felt pot. easy peasy.
I only have a 5 gal fabric pot. I've been getting some help off here and it seems to be doing much better than it was. before I was told I was over watering due to same thing you stated. since have cut water amount in half if not more and then drilled more holes along the bottom of the bucket.. so im alittle confused on what to do next.
got her out the plastic for thr most part. couldn't do alot other than either cut a fabric pot or cut and already wasted bucket. so I used thr top part of the bucket to see how she goes. Hopefully better than she did. had to cover to top roots since bucket was taller than pot. Hopefully I did add too much stress by doing this. we will see.
seemed to take nicely to the heavier feed over the light feed as I was kinda in recovery. didn't wanna over do it. so I watered tonight. if she seem to start yellowing again im gonna give her a full strength feed and see if she takes well to that. so much greener than she was a few weeks ago. appreciate all the help.
shes alot better than she has been. been about 2 3 weeks since a flush. nutrients i have are synthetic so alittle curious on when I should do a flush. or if I should at all. or if it only builds up salt when the nutrients isn't absorbed into the plant and there is an excessive amount?
been about 3 weeks to almost a month since any time of flush has been donem but have done a huge deal of trying to make sure I didn't over feed either plant. coral dream the one that's been getting alot more attention is turning out alot better. ive also not had the best luck with test runoff so I instead tried a slurry test. which revealed what I expected to find. using distilled water I found that coral dream had slurry showed ph of 5.98. ec of 1.7 and ppm of 865. so she got plain water ph at 6.98. pandalorian however was on the opposite end. ph tested 6.45 with ec .4 and ppm of 200. so she got a good feed with ec at 1.2. I did give both plants around 2 and a half liters from the top to help keep salts moving down through the bottom. rather than larger amount of water. got pandalorian lifted another 2 to 3 inches up to help her be more level with coral dream and trimmed them both up alittle to help lower growth.
they are looking much better
I agree. ran out of room in the picture section to share the rest of the test.
watered with recharge and enzymes about a cup and a half each plants on wednesday. fed last Thursday after getting my cultivation nation calmag and mykos extreme. Friday did a pretty good amount of trimming up in the canopy. last night I water again. about 2 liters each.
what happened?
honestly from what I can tell ive been fighting salt buildup and nutrient lockout from hydroponics nutrients. but idk. ever since I switched to the fox farm nutrients everything has been great. suspected root rot but none of that. so all i know is while using the other nutrients the ph wanted to settle at 5.5 to 5.8 for runoff test. which wasn't cutting it.
I would increase your nutes again. your plants are looking healthy but underfed. it needs more nitrogen. you may never get color back to the yellow/purple leaves but the new growth is looking light green.
the lighting for some reason doesn't give you the best idea of color 😅 it is much darker than it looks in the picture. and I just hit 12/12 to flip. been taking 15 mins of day time and and adding 15 mins to night for the last 12 days. tomorrow or the next I will feed with the first round of flower nutes. I watered yesterday as ive been feeding rather heavy. alittle more than what the 4th week feed schedule shows for veg.
got the heater lifted off the ground just as a precaution not exactly sure where it pulls air in from and got my water reservoir system going. connected 2 5 gallon buckets using a 1 inch union and grommets and one bucket has a 12v pump that takes water from it and puts it into the other that has air stone in it and the flows back into to the other bucket through the couplers so now I got about 8 gallons at all times so there's room for growth and could add more buckets if necessary.
got a spider farmer dehumidifier. honestly this thing brings in so much air it fills the tent up like a balloon. so dont think I need an intake fan. working like a charm so far. couldn't wait for the ac infinty line to release so bit the bullet here. also got a few Lil hairs coming along.
I may need one but I got no room lol
honestly its larger than expected. but working well. I think id recommend it lol. but give me a few days if it starts acting up ill post about it
I just pre-ordered the Vivosun one... may get a second...
I wanted to pre order the ac infinty one but I couldn't wait lol.
yeah I have the older vivosun intelligent dehum. I really want it to hook directly up to the tent like your, the Vivosun one does do that as well. If I order the 5x5 I am ordering another with it. the struggle thus year with the humidity has been insane!
I agree and afraid its only gonna get worse for me here the next month or so. especially in flower right now. that was my biggest worry about getting a dehumidifier was if I got one that just did the room not the tent then it would be alright. but I wanted to get an intake fan to increase air flow. but to me this was the cheaper option and best of both worlds.
Yes that is the way I was looking at it, unfortunately Vivosun is not shipping the combi A/C, Heater, Dehumidifier or the stand alone Dehumidifier until the end of August!
oof.. ya id be in trouble if I waited that long
got some good up close pictures. still inspecting for herm traits just to be safe. fed week 7 nutes on fox farm feed chart and I dont think the tent could be blown up anymore. when opening the door o get a rush of air so air flow if definitely there
didn't feed all week just had this gut feeling. so I flushed last Saturday. watered Tuesday and then watered with enzyme on thursday. got a good feeding today. believe my yellowing twds center of the tent is due to my light but im out of room 😅 lost power on Wednesday night I believe about an hour before lights on so I snapped a few picks in the midst of still letting them have what light I could provide. all seems good. trimmed also got rid of some leaves blocking budsites thay couldnt be tucked. brushed a few spots more than id like. so gonna watch myself there.
Looking Pretty Tasty!! 😍
im definitely excited.
you should be, looks great mate
I appreciate it very much was a rough journey haha
Im on my first journey as well and I agree it has not been easy!
definitely not at first anyways. received alot of help from here. the community on here is great.
I agree!! So helpful and so friendly
Nice work!
thanks to you lol. no I appreciate your help buddy, for sure
filling res with what ?? plain ph water I’d hope u are not feeding them any thing now other than say molasses and plain pH water from the looks of those you definitely wanna stop feeding those fertilizers
per the schedule i got 3 weeks left of feed time.. so I am planning to feed the rest of he schedule if needed.
but filling with plain PhD water
Chonky!
definitely starting to bulk up for sure. I got a picture ill upload later of the same branch 4 days apart.
Can't wait to see it!
frosty ☃️ af!!!!
the younger one has started to bulk up quite a bit. getting more and more of a smell as time goes on
Bad ass!
outstanding grow thus far for sure, something there to be proud of. i love the satisfaction that comes with growing. to me its almost as good a reward as the first twist of a paper....be supppppper patient with drying and curing. I have a grow that i put to jars august 6th, and they are just now starting to really show the true terpenes.
imma definitely keep that in mind.
on the downhill for suree
lookin 🔥
im sorry stoked man. never thought id see something so gorgeous happen from nature. only one time ever me and a buddy threw a seed in some dirt in a 5 gal hung it from a tree. it produced nothing 🤣😂 so never tried again. so this was a whole other experience
I could only imagine happy growing growmie
you too growmie!
tricolmbs on the leafs mature faster than on the buds get some better pics of them
I didnt select the best pictures 😅 I was told about the leafs maturing master so have been trying to pay attention to the buds itself.
thats the best I got lol
try out the magnifying app & see if that helps out
looks good to me
Frosty!
its still pretty clear all over have been looking everyday
7-10 days u should start to see some cloudy heads . what u shooting for 80/20 or 90/10 ?
im not sure 😂 its my first time so im still hoping I dont screw up somewhere. hoping for like 10 to 15% amber
When are we smoking growmie? 🤣
counting the days for sure 😂🤣
woa that look amazing 😻 💯💯🤯🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥
I knoww.. its a waiting game now. just gotta hold off alittle longer lol.
JUST A LITTLE BIT!!!! we don’t wanna smoke em tomorrow we wanna try it yesterday 😆
per the time frames I could have already been smoking it about 3 weeks ago if not earlier. but I had some issues 😅
I can’t tell ish look fye 🔥🔥🔥🔥
ive had some help lol. cant take all the credit. but im definitely looking forward to smoking it.
hell yeah!!! im doing my first grow Hydro done fell n love and got everything to do a coco coir run and got a bunch a great game on here… cant wait!! to start this coco run my seedlings 🌱 lookin good tho… im excited for this phase we’re I’ll be training and topping ect
they look great, beautiful colors
still quite a bit clear all over. some cloudy and on the leaves wome amber. but thats about it. just waiting game really 😅
Beautiful!!! 😍
I know it. its so hard to wait 😂😅 but I gotta.
id highly suggesting getting a big acrylic box. putting that plant inside of it and filling with resin and preserve for all eternity. that is absolutely gorgeous 😍😍
look at that color!!!
🔥🔥🔥
fed for the final time I think. fox farm d12 goes to 12 weeks. so went ahead and followed through with it. one definitely getting some amber otherone is whats holding me up. the smell is absolutely amazing. hoping the next few days I can get to chopping. we will see
im still holding out 😅🤣 im sure some will say I should have chopped by now. I just cant do it. my gut is telling me the one behind just isnt ready yet 😅
Holy trichomes Batman!
today is the day.😅 not gonna push it anymore than I have. so by the end of the day will have some pictures to upload
Can't wait too see them!
being the newb I am. a few buds got the blade by mistake. 😅 going in for a leaf and boom before I new the whole thing fell apart. so definitely some learning to be done. but here's so far got rid of fan leaves and hung in the tent to dry after a thorough cleaning
nooooo!!!! SNNNAAAAKKKEEEE
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
it was stealth trim ops gone wrong
😂😂💯💯💯 indeed
well for my first time id say id did better than expected. did have some herm happen and self pollination. but all in all came out much better than expected. padalorian will definitely be ran again at another point cause it smells absolutely Devine. roll a joint on thursday and it was still kinda wet. so it didnt get the final chop till yesterday. my girl started it about 1pm. 2 hours in she threw in the towel anf said shes done she aint doing anymore. so I finished it all up around midnight. rolled another joint last night and it wasn't bad at all. ash burned white. taste pretty good. not really harsh. they dried in the tent for 15 days. now the curing process starts.
I had to trim 5 at once this year omg my fingers hurt next day
i recommend Cannabrush. you can trimm faster and its gentle to trichoms.
I would be concerned, your plant is locking out nutrients, your ph is really low. your soil has too many nutrients, flush with 6.8 water ph, until your ph and ec come into normal range. I would do asap. 👍
I did flush it like a week and a half ago. have fed 3 days after flush. and then fed again like 3 days ago. it was alittle dry last night when I watered. ph was at 6.41 were the last two times I was closer to 6.0 when I fed. when I fed the other day I did take ec and ppm reading. I didn't test the ph cause I'm a fool. ec was at 2.0 and the ppm was around 1600. I am using tap water with air stones and pump and waiting 24 hours.
try lowering your ec. I run coco and never really go above 1.4 ec ever. you may be juicing them up too much.
its been a learning curve. being my first time and getting the athena nutrients kit just been going off the chart provided by them. I will try lowering it.
those companies always recommend more than you need they want you to buy as much product as possible. need about half of what they say. if you follow ec guidelines for each stage rather that a feed schedule you will do well.
that was based from their feed schedule. so make sense. I will cut it in half and see how that does. honestly this plant has shown me how resilient cannabis plants are 😅🤣 but am taking in what I learn and started keeping track of what I'm doing to try to get my own thing figured out.
like anything, it takes time and a few stumbles to master. you really have to want to kill this plant before it will die, they are tough. just like us they need a balanced diet to be healthy, you can feed them garbage and they will grow but the bud sucks.
understood. I appreciate it thank you.
The AI plant doctor on this app is actually really cool I'm not sure how it has so much information just take pictures and the more info you put in it will give you a lot of info
thanks! I'll check it out
