Grow Timeline (48 updates)
spraying few times per day, humidity now goes around 55-65%, temperature 70-80F, watered 1-2 cups with low any of flora micro
also have had basil and parsley in here from the beginning, about to transplant them
watered at least 3 cups each yesterday, they may have been under watered at the roots since the beginning, not sure. the larger AK auto has many colas sprouting, the smaller one is growing steadily now but I'm not sure how to train it as well, it's leaves are huge but not many nodes yet. will likely water tomorrow and start a bit higher flora micro or grow
bushy plant recovered from defoliation, both autos are stretching a lot and bagseed still growing stronk. fixed the DLI, I was blasting with double what I needed
purple haze seedling is healthy
If possible, set up a trellis net in order to keep the canopies even. If not possible, LST is recommended
just did, thanks!
doing really good ,Does your fabric bags have holes around the top ? u can do LST by tying branches to the holes . nice job especially for your 1st grow . perpetual harvest ๐
my trellis net should arrive today! thanks, I cut one or two holes but stopped using them as it got taller, at this stage it would've been perfect tho
bagseed super short because I'm basing the light on the autoflowers, lollipopped it and tucked a bunch of leaves. autos are doing well, I watered 1.5L each yesterday with strong flora micro and bloom. purple haze true leaves are popping out!
watered 2L each for the autos, 1.5L on the bagseed
bagseed is smelling more even though it's still in veg, the autos don't smell at all yet. purple haze seedling speeding up. setting up the trellis net tomorrow to keep the autos tidy until harvest
plants recovered quick from all the bending, autos watered 1.5 L each yesterday with strong flora micro and bloom, bagseed and seedling got less and a bit more diluted. moved the light towards the bigger plants to get closer to recommended DLI for all the plants
filling out the sides of the tent with trellis net, is this a ton of bud sites?? 4-6 weeks left
it looks pretty good. you will want to defoliate in a week. most of the stuff under the trellis wonโt get enough light and will be skimpy buds. by trimming big water leaves and larf it will put all the energy to your main tops. good job!
ok thanks, should I tuck the big stems under the net again or just do defoliation and cut the super low branches?
I would just do a defoliation and cut the super low branches. I defoliate on day 1 and day 21 of flower. at that point you can see the difference in flower sites and once you do it enough you know what will be larf. I basically lollipop both times and trim off the big shade leaves. I donโt want popcorn buds I want nugs.
okay sweet. thanks man I'll keep it updated, lemme know if you have suggestions in the future
for sure. everything is looking good. keep it up!
canopy is filling out, a few hairs are starting to turn orange. pinched off a couple lower leaves, and did a ton of chopping on the bagseed. purple haze seedling is doing well, if it's still a seedling
watered purple haze 600ml with 1ml flora micro 2ml flora bloom. water is always 6.3-6.5ph for everything
quickly going past the trellis net, how much more can they stretch? watering tomorrow, 8ml/gal flora micro and 16ml/gal flora bloom from now till harvest, maybe some flushes if needed. bagseed is filling out since the defoliation, and purple haze baby is starting to speed up growth
2-3 times their veg height. i donโt do autos tho but im guessing itโs close. Ghost train haze likes to stretch so i bet purple haze will. AK is a kush so it will be shorter.
wow I thought it was half that! i just realized AK must stand for Afghan kush lol
I thought thatโs what it stood for. looking at seedfinder itโs Afghanistan (landrace kush) crossed with kolumbien x mexiko x thailand (landrace sativa). 2 phenos. 1 sativa dominant and 1 indica dominant. I think Iโve only smoked the indica dominant.
huh that's interesting, I want to find some feral bud or some landrace stuff to clone and cross, but I don't have a separate place to breed right now also can I get really good results without checking the runoff or doing soil slurry?
you typically want runoff when using salts or else they will build up in the soil. 25% is what your want to go for. I have been using a living soil and grow dots recently and I havenโt been doing runoff with those and everything is fine. I have also ran salts without runoff and I just water regular water every other time.
I got coast of Maine stonington blend, it starts at 6.3 pH and I've been feeding it 6.2-6.5ph everytime so that helps i guess and flora trio nutrients, don't have any salts
anything in the flora series is salts. almost all liquid nutrients are. you can do the same with miracle grow. just mix with water and measure with ml instead of tsp
ooh ok, good to know lol I guess I'll water a bit more each time
pretty much done training and defoliating, just water and nutrients and hopefully no problems before harvest. faint smell just started yesterday, I plucked off a calyx and it smells very fruity and soft? can't wait to smoke. defoliated and trained the bagseed and purple haze to keep them from getting too big before the autos are chopped
watered 1.5 - 2L today for the autos, 9ml flora micro 18ml flora bloom. stopped stretching so much and more energy going towards bud development. hoping one or 2 of these bagseed clones survive, most died and I didn't have rooting hormone...
going to have to train the purple haze a ton to keep it small before I can harvest the autos
Not saying your wrong, but that seems really high for GH notes, I've been following 1/2 the light feed, if they can handle it that's cool
it was in 1.5gal of water, I am following the Lucas method for nutrients but I flushed today. mild nutrient burn started on couple leaves so I was gonna tone it down some I will probably do 6ml micro and 12ml bloom next watering unless I need to flush again
I'm not familiar with the Lucas method but am interested do you kjoe where can I learn about it Im always up for learning new stuff
https://hackingthegrow.com/best-hydro-nutrients/ it is for hydroponics but he has a ironhead method for coco, it's very very simple just uses flora micro and bloom so it's easy to adjust to your situation. this is my first grow tho so we'll see
Someone just told me a lot of people cut out the flora gro I think it was StashnSmash anyway Thanks
I'm reading the iron head part now, Do you personally follow the water daily to 10% runoff?
no I haven't watered to runoff really, I get maybe 20ml that runs off but I mainly just worry about 1 part micro, 2 parts bloom. I slowly increased from day 20 but sometimes flush or runoff test might be good. I keep water pH at 6.3-6.5, some nasa guy on YouTube said pH too high is way better than too low and they use 6.5.
yeah I heard it leaves too much nitrogen for the flowering phase, but maybe ok for long veg photos
I'm gonna cut out gro now that buds should be forming I've seen GH nutes work from 5.6 to 7.0 on other people's grows I guess depends on what and how your growing
yeah I think anything from 5.0-7.0 would work, and probably different plants and nutes depend. maybe my 6.5 isnt right for these plants
the smaller plant has wider nugs and way more trichomes, but it went into flower a couple days later... hope the more vigorous plant is better quality but anybody deal with this?
started a closet grow as well, another AK auto and a purple haze photo. I'm going to add the photo to the main tent after autos are gone, it'll be way smaller than the 2 I have going now but good experiment.
I must have defoliated or stressed the larger auto too much, the smaller plant is bulking up and developing trichomes much faster and is now ahead of the larger one, hopefully they are both decent quality in the end
clones and photos still doing good, and my fast buds green crack, AK auto and purple haze photo have all sprouted in the closet grow
Nice amount of Bud sites
thanksss am excited
2nd time flushing, I think I over watered a bit. gonna wait at least 1 more day before going back to milder nutrients. are the leaves yellowing because of a problem or does that look normal for mid flower? closet grow is going well, not sure if this clone will survive it's been a week or 2 and seems ok. I have another that's doing well too
the larger plant has moved back to bud development, I think I lost at least 5 days of progress so hope the buds are ok at least. photos are chonky and the bagseed stem is massive. Closet grow is doing well, I added a fan to keep some small bugs away. stressed two of the auto seedlings a bit but they are back in business
finally got some containers under the plants in flower so I can flush them for real today. I defoliated at the wrong time and probably had salt buildup so they are finally recovering. the photos are doing great and I mega defoliated them last night. seedlings in the closet still growing well
u flushing with plain water or using solution?
flushed with filtered water adjusted to 6.3ph, did 1 gal each
how much flower time u have
about one month into flower
when watering try using one of those water buckets with the sprouts have lot of holes & water slowly . water & wait 5 minutes to water again nice & evenly . this way u get all the soil & doesnโt cause dry backs which will cause some spots that form salt crystals that build up & that causes nutrient lock out .
ok good idea, I was definitely not watering slowly hah I did do 500 ml at a time and maybe 30 seconds in between but I definitely had salt buildup
best way to water evenly is to use a water bucket that has a sprout with little holes. Iโll water fro base out & cover entire soil & wait a few minutes & do it again until soil is completely wet . use finger , if it wet up to knuckles u good
ok thanks, I poked some holes in a bottle to make one, I'm watering again tomorrow, I have heard it's good to water till runoff a bit every time, should I do this?
watering to runoff is good it is basically what I was saying about the dry pockets . it will allow u to avoid any dry pockets & absorb all the nutrients & u be able to test the runoff . water in a circle motion . do t do it to seedlings.
yeah I guess it does a bit of flushing every time
watered the photos 1.5L each with 2ml flora micro and 4ml flora bloom. flowering plants just got flushed and will go back on nutrients tmw, the bagseed and purple haze photos are doing well and got a heavy defoliation yesterday. closet grow starting to speed up growth, true leaves are going strong and I turned up the light a bit
Damn look at those kola's When are you starting final flush before harvest it's gotta be getting close
I am conflicted if I should or not, so many people flush but I may just only use bloom nutrients the last 2 weeks to remove nitrogen. or maybe I will do one plant flush one plant bloom cause I don't know wot I'm doing almost all trichs are still clear or barely milky though, and the plant in the middle is still behind so could be another 3-4 weeks till harvest? what you estimate?
I'm still pretty new myself I don't want to give bad advice but I'm thinking at 4 weeks max till your chopping
I do see a bit of amber and most of the trichomes are cloudy actually, just a lot of buds are still behind so yeah I'll wait probably 2-3 week
middle of nugs are getting deeper green, I assume it is bouncing back and taking nutrients again. still mostly clear and cloudy trichomes, can't wait to see how dense these get. the two photos in veg got super defoliated, exposed a ton of budsites. closet grow is poppin but the fast buds seedling is not doing so well.... we'll see maybe it'll turn into a monster during later veg
watered today with 5ml/gal micro 10ml bloom, 1 gal each auto.
1.5L of half strength for the photos, and plain water for the closet plants, besides the clones. surprised I got 2 clones out of 5 without any rooting hormone, now I just hope it's a female plant lol. probably 2-3 weeks before harvest, maybe another week or 2 after for the plant in the middle
still too much yellow on the flowering plants but close enough to finish line hopefully, the one plant looks good so just have to see if the larger one is larfy or not. they will get flushed tmw or next day, maybe will harvest the chunky plant in a week cause I'd rather have more of a head high
closet grow doing well, I figured out the bagseed is a female thank glob, the cannabonsai is one of the clones. the roots will eventually be exposed, I put a glass goblet in there so the roots will grow around the "handle" and the plant will sit on top of the skinny part above the base. I might even spray this one with sts because it would still give me more than enough seeds
maybe 2% amber, I'm going to harvest at 5% or little more. middle plant still needs more time, it it's larfy I'll let it go to 30% amber. watered 1 gal each today with 4ml/g micro 10ml/g bloom, 1.5ml/g calmag
closet grow got watered, with 2ml/g micro, 4ml/g bloom, and .5ml/g calmag. the green crack and ak47 autos in the 5gal pot are showing pistils, I can hopefully manage that pot in the closet once I move the photos to main tent.
bagseed and purple haze photo in main tent doing well, did more lollipopping. can't wait to see how these nugs form.
watered 1.7 gallons on each flowering AK,
4ml/g flora micro
10ml/g bloom,
1.5ml/g calmag
photos got 2L each,
4ml/g micro
6ml/g bloom,
.7ml/g calmag
closet grow autos in flower got 2 L of
2ml/g micro
6ml/g bloom
.5ml/g calmag
they are pretty droopy so hopefully they bounce back after this watering. they are definitely in stretch phase right now
cannabonsai and other clone got same mixture maybe 400ml of water each
love it
looking great ๐
close to harvesting this plant, still barely any amber though and lots of clear. midway through week 8 so maybe it'll take another 1-2 weeks.
other larfier plant is still having nutrient issues, I watered 1.2 gal today with just 1ml of calmag in there. after all these plants are done I'm just going to use the recommended organic method that coast of Maine recommends with their soil. green crack and ak in the closet are still doing good, I've had to train the ak a lot to keep it in correct lighting. I topped a bunch of the taller stems on the photos in main tent, next update will have nice branches hopefully.
the AKโs can stretch quite a bit . be patient & wait until the trichromes are where u want em at . all this time growing can be hard to have to wait especially when i right there
thanks yeah I am getting impatient since I'm low on herb hah, could I harvest 1 or 2 top nugs or would that mess it up overall? it's an auto
definitely harvest the tops . clip it & dry it & when the bottom half is ready then harvest the rest
sweeeet chrimbus come early
just took off one of the top branches, I couldn't wait and there was a ton of cloudy trichomes. most of the plant will go another week maybe, and then the bottom nugs will go a week after that at least.
I should've started 10 years ago
that's a nice looking first bud mine was alot worse!!!! nice job
nice start
Goddamn that's a beautiful nug. Congrats on the harvest! Good luck drying and curing, you're at the final yard line
absolutely gorgeous little nugget of joy there. This is your first grow? Trust, doesn't matter how bad it turns out, I you grew it, it will be the best smoke of your life!
congratulations!!
I've harvested 2 of the tops on the 1st AK auto, still barely any amber so another week or two for most of it. other plant seems way behind but maybe it will mature quick just won't be as dense. 1gal each today with 1ml flora bloom 1ml calmag, closet autos just got 2.5L of pure ph water
little defoliation and lollipopping on the closet autos, green crack finally starting to stretch
those flowers are massive ๐ณ
wowzers u got some big ol flowers u must be running some high wattege
the flowering plants are getting 35-40 DLI at the lower nugs, 45-55 at the tops. maybe overkill but I think my main problem was nutrient lockout in early flower. download photone to check DLI if you haven't yet
thanks I am ready for liftoff
my 7 n 1 soil tester I believe has a dli setting on it . a 150 watt doesn't have quite that good numbers I think it's a 30 on the tops . I'm just trying to finish mine out I had a cpl that had nutrient lock out too but I think I figured it out for next run
man I would maybe lower your light closer to bring up the dli, I think 40 is good for flowering but I think some plants and environments can use 45-50. I'm noob tho idk I haven't been able to check soil pH, maybe I will do runoff tests next grow but maybe with all organic it won't matter
I have a 6 n 1 soil tester I think it was only 30$ it checks water like if u over watered it check fertility checks soil pH temp humidity and dli it Evan checks how much red n blue lights u have great device
I mean 7 n 1
dang that's crazy, I've only seen the cheap $7 stick ones and the nicer ones, not sure if a slurry test is enough to help me
no I'm talking about meter that has probe on the end and u stick the probe in your soil .they have all kinds of gadgets on Amazon anywhere from 20$ to 60$ I did raise my plants as much as I could before the tacod I'm glad u said something I do need stronger lights tho.
one more week left, probably 5% amber now. they are getting so dense and I didn't realize how many side Christmas trees would sprout from the already dense nugs.... couple of the main colas are behemoths, look at the nug in the background of first pic ๐ญ the nugs have also started to take on a kind of slurry texture? is this normal? lots more trichomes popping up but hoping that is normal for the texture to kinda look like wet snow?
the stonington blend plant food and fish bone meal really boosted everything the past week and a half. closet autos are starting to get some frost, I've had to deal with a decent bit of rust fungus. not like entire leaves taken over but maybe one or two spots on a lot of different leaves. usually small clusters and it isn't rapidly spreading so I wonder what the cause? maybe just slight spores floating around my place? all the plants have had it but it's so mild in all of them....
having some nutrient issues (worried about the plants in first pics) I have added some nitrogen and potassium, should I add like a mega dose or just add normal amounts??? I already gave at least 2 decent doses to combat the deficiency and some calmag for the calcium spots on the darker plant, just not sure how long it should take to improve, it has slowly continued to get worse so I think I didn't do enough? almost all organic besides the nitrogen so I don't think I have salt buildup
the main tent photos are waaaay too big I think, if they stretch even twice the height I will have to super crop like 30 branches. maybe I can get by with the trellis net but these branches are so thick already. should be crazy yield for indoor though. the closet plants should be ready to harvest around September 15th, the autos in main tent should have been ready a week or 2 ago but they just made a new round of white hairs and are still bulking. maybe I messed stuff up but these are taking longer than anybody said autos would haha
this auto will be going like 15-16 weeks??? I definitely had nutrient lockout but didn't realize it could do anything like this lol. not worried about the quality of this harvest, it will be Abt 10ozs off these two plants! and running the kief through a 175micron screen I'm getting high AF.
photos in main tent are definitely stretching, I need to get the other purple haze photo and a clone in here asap but gotta get the AK out so I can deal with the trellis net and rearrange them all. closet purple haze did get transplanted though
closet grow is chonnkin and I also transplanted one of the clones to the old purple haze pot.
continuing with coast of Maine fish bone meal and langbeinite for flower, sometimes adding calmag or some extra nitrogen. I tried banana water but I have no real way to measure the strength so I got the langbeinite
seen that light I run mars hydro too
which one do u have I have a 150 watt and a 100
it's a 300w but I have a 100w I am using for the closet grow. they are good lights, the closet grow is frosty AF with that 100w
for some odd reason mine is too with the 100 very visable great lights
photos in main tent starting mega stretch, flowers are developing very quickly since they were already pistils and fully grown bracts everywhere before I flipped.
ak in tent is still maybe 1 week away, the amber is still pretty scarce. this one will definitely just be ground up and sifted for kief, probably rough smoke.
closet grow is still having some nutrient issues but organic stuff should kick in this week and going forward. transplants are doing good and the closet autos are really getting dense nugs already even though not that thick yet
2nd AK auto was developing seeds, no wonder it wasn't finished by like 14 weeks.... still lots of kief around so I'm keeping it all
photos are stretching and starting to flower, I redid the trellis net to hopefully keep them down but I will probably have to do a lot more before harvest. I removed some of the calcium burned leaves in the closet, it seems to be progressing really slowly or stopping so I hope it doesn't get any worse. I think the AKs just need a bunch of nitrogen because the green crack stopped yellowing leaves but the ak seems like it definitely needs nitrogen. same as the 2 AK I just harvested
are u lollipoping or main lining
basically no defoliation on the nicer looking closet grow, just some bendy training before flower. the AKs I just harvested were trained a lot, lollipopped pretty heavily on the lower half but I left 2 or 3 layers of nugs, didn't lollipop all the way to the top to make it like a tree. they were going insanely well before I had nutrient lockout I did mainline the photos in the main tent like 10 times each though at least. topped so many of the higher branches
thank u for this insight
I was dumb and thought the yellowing was nitrogen deficiency but I think it's just light burn...... I am trying to push extra calmag in, calcium spots aren't stopping. oh well I raised the light and hopefully I can keep these photos in the main tent green until senescence.
the smaller purple haze on left in the main tent is recovering well, it was looking rough before I transplanted just from lack of multiple nutrients. the bigger photos are really pushing out hairs now, still doing little lollipopping but I'll probably stop in another couple days. get ready to laugh as the stretch continues cause these plants might have to get smashed around to fit in the tent and below the light...
btw the AK47 smoke from first plant is not the cleanest but after curing it is decent. I did wet trim and dried without most branches so it went very fast. the larfy plant is all the branches and dry trim and it already smells way better before cure has even started. 1st plant not the strongest but it's a very heady high. vaping tons of kief it's very clean and I have more than enough to stockpile since another harvest coming soon.
nice ๐๐ป๐
