Grow Timeline (33 updates)
After my clipping went yellow and the larger fans started browning I was sure my little clone was done for, however after a water change it stopped getting worse?
Like the green was coming back into the center of it and it perked up so I checked it and saw so many roots at the top of the rockwool cube! I quickly took off the bad leaves and popped it back into place for now while I figure out where I'm putting it.

well little clone here isn't dead! her color is tragic but getting better so she's been put in a nursery pot for now. it outgrows that I'll repot into a 3gal and she'll probably live in the basement until this tent is cleared out fully then I'll bring her back up for flowering

Repotted my clone here yesterday and I am glad I didn't wait longer the roots were starting the circle the nursery pot like crazy but managed to not be bound yet.
Now the little one is in a 3gal fabric pot with more of my reused otherwise hot blend of left over soil, perlite, and coco. Does it all run hot? Yes. Do I care? Not at all.
I made it all the way to flower in the other nursery pot with an auto in it before I had to feed anything to the plant and the parent plant of the clone hasn't been fed at all yet either and that was in a 3gal fabric pot (repotted into a 5gal yesterday) and that one is still super dark almost N toxic levels.
I did apply some rooting hormone to the root area during the transplant just because. Going to keep it watered and start topping it in a bit to try and keep it short until the auto in the same tent is done then I can work on getting it to fill the 2x2

Welp not much of an update here, my little clones tent mate is now in week 5 of flower so we've got anywhere from 3-7 weeks left on her before ill have the space for our clone here. I've been doing my best to keep her small and try some different training types. I've topped a few nodes on her and just a few days so I tried super cropping with her. it has not done much to keep her small either.
once I finish the auto I can not wait to center the clone in the tent and string up the net and get her filling out a bit once she's a good size I'll get her flipped. once the auto is done I'll be setting her from 24/0 lights to 18/6 while I finish vegging her then I'll get her on a good old 12/12 for flower.
well sort of, I swapped the light schedule over because she has gotten bigger than I expected once I swapped her from 24/0 to 18/6 and if I don't flip her soon she's gonna overtake the tent and I'll be out of room. I went around and did my best to cover any light leaks and tomorrow lights on will be 11am and not 5am. if little lady starts to get worse from lack of light I'll move her into the basement and keep her down there, she looked to be both starving and nute burned, probably from the soil itself so I'll be testing her run off for the next few days and see what happened if it's reading high I'll probably flush her and then feed directly. she's finally getting some frost to her bud sites but I fear at the rate she's going she'll only be good for bubble hash at best.
Well clone here is stretching well in the last fee days. I had removed the net from her and raised it about 5 inches (I wanted more room under the canopy I'd been devloping without wanting to add a second net later) she's now closed that gap for the most part I might go another few days before I start bending her and filling out the canopy for her.

so far stretch is going I'll probably adjust the netting a little bit more over the next week and adjust the plant itself in the process. I'm trying so hard not to block any lights from the auto in there with her but it's a struggle right now. I haven't defolated yet I'm going to wait until I see some bud sites after stretch is done and base it on that. she's been growing so well I don't want to stunt her. I do need another layer of soil in her pot but I'm out at the moment so it'll have to wait for payday next week

We now have visible pistals showing! Stretching hasn't quiet slowed down yet so I'm giving her a bit longer before I start removing leaving and lower sites. I might play lazy and give her a bit longer than normal and do it in two weeks I'm not sure yet. knowing me I'll wait until the growth settles down some more then clean her up.

since little lady is now chopped and drying it was time to reset my clone here. I removed the net fully and centered her better in the tent itself then carefully redid the net. this will probably be the final time I adjust the net with her. she got a heavy watering as well. I'm glad I didn't wait much longer to do this since she's filling this 2x2 so nicely at the moment.

Flower is progressing, we've mostly stopped stretching now and I did soke minor under canopy clean up. Gonna mostly let her keep riding at this point and only remove what needs to be taken down for light/airflow I do need another fan in there but I'm making due for now with the one working full time and the clip on turning it back on as needed (it auto shuts off after an hour and that was not I the description when I got it)
very nice man. exciting times ahead. keep up the good work
Thanks! Certainly not bad for a random dispo seed, my first attempt at clones, AND first photo run. Plus I abused this lady with tons of topping and even tried out super cropping with it. It's been fun just throwing whatever at her and watching her bounce back.

Now thatβs being resilient
Went ahead and redid my light on the tent, when I originally flipped to 12/12 I just turned the light to 100% and didn't bother to check my dli, we'll I did that today and went ahead and lowered that light a bit to increase the overall dli. I did use my phone app so I will need to grab my light meter and check again once I'm off work (it's in the basement and I can't run down there at the moment. I've got the light roughly 24 inches from the top of my canopy at the moment but my dli reading is now around 35-45 according to the app. I'm already tempted to start another clone or pop a seed I just can't decide how I want to grow the next one or where to get it going. figure I have minimum month and a half before this lady is ready, at least two full months on my dwc basement bucket I should start another plant to so it'll be ready for flower when this lady is done but I can't decide if I want to do another auto or a photo
Nothing major to report flower is progressing. I have finally gotten a working solution to my high humidity/temp issue. And old beat up window fan we had laying around works amazingly well on the outside of the tent at the meshed air vent. it also works just as well to block and possibly roon light at night once things are lights out. Only problem now is the humidity is way too low. I'm going to try to raise it with the humidifier outside the tent, see if raised the ambient will do enough if not I have a tiny humidifier I could pop in it's just tiny would need to be filled often. We'll see what happens, I might try leaving a cup of plain water in there and see if it that helps. I'm not too worried my basement plants grow in low humidity 80% of the year they just don't do as well as I know they can. If this harvest and the dwc auto I've got going downstairs provide enough for my stash to last me a while I think I'm going to shift my focus to a single main run at a time, maybe try a mini run of 4 autos in the tent next or maybe another single photo and try manifolds out that could be fun.

Buds are stacking, and getting frosty already. I have been plucking some leaves here and there as I notice them covering lower buds but I'm mostly just watering her and letting her do her thing. the lowered light seems to have perkee hew up more as well which is nice. she's starting to give off a slight lemony scent I wish I could remember what the bud I'd gotten the original seed from was like but that last summer when I found it.
nice looking grow.i hope it's becomes a righteous smoke.
Thanks man! I really hope so. Guess I'll be finding out in a few months once she wraps up and dries out at least. If it's fire I'll be so happy I decided to make that seed into a mother plant.

what the title says mostly an excuse to photo dump
looks frigging awesome
thanks! considering what I've done to the poor girl she's outperformed just about any other plant I've grown so far im so glad I've got her mother in my basement grow, as long as it smokes well (seed was a random dispo seed) I plan to run her a few times

just posting a little before and after photo for today. I reset the net a little bit and took some more leaves off, I've been pulling a few fans a day/every other day. I'll probably keep that going over the next few weeks as she bulks and ripen. she's still only getting straight water in that soil mix there and im excited to see if she ends up getting hungry or not. she's also drinking about half a gallon of straight water a day. I feel like this is easy mode compared to the fussy auto im running in DWC in the basement. though that will probably be the last one for a while, I've got enough of a stash now once it's done I'll be putting that stuff away until next fall.

Today I've only taken off the net fully and pulled off some fans, I gave her a good turn so I could get at all her sides and do a good clean up. I was tempted to pull some lower popcorn buds but decided to leave them since shes now showing signs of some nute burn at her tips I figure it'll let her continue burning the extra nutes off. being this late in flower im not stressing it. we've got minimum 2 weeks but im gonna run her on the longer side, I've got plenty on hand im not rushing for a harvest so we'll let her ride and see what happens. this weekend i am picking up a plant from my friend, we're doing the last of the harvest on it (staggered because of size/lighting) and im going to repot the rootball in my soil mix in a 5gal and give revegging a shot i was going to cut the shitty lowers and attempt cloning but figured why not try revegging it, if that works i will take clones off her cause the sample bud we dried and smoked was bomb. I've also got some new genetics coming my way from a buddy across the country which will be fun, pretty sure the seeds a regs but ill work with that. guess I will be learning how to collect pollen and whatnot later, not going to be a pollen chucker or anything but im tempted to play with genetics and maybe work out my own personal strain. the one im revegging has almost black flowers that are gorgeous so I was tempted to cross it once with an auto, then feminize and work out my own autos from it. ill have so many photos/crosses i can mess with all sorts of training and have some fun in the meantime.
it's fun, you'll learn a ton. real fun is when you get into F2 and start getting recessive genes. genetics can be quite the rabbit hole..... but if you think trim jail is bad, wait till you're in seed jail. and then cleanup jail. you'll have pollen everywhere. fans, exhaust, exhaust tubes, light, lung room, everywhere.... still have nightmares of yellow dust ....
oh I know! its gonna be a nightmare. im hoping to end at f2s unless I have too much fun with it. I figure ill get some decent deals on fb marketplace for a spare tent and maybe score some upgrades on equipment since we're in tax time.
I do enjoy pheno hunting, but w a 3 month minimum to see if it has desirable traits, it's a time sink. many of months wasted when I didnt find what I was looking for. I try to get to f2 in the outdoor season. I'll pop a few seeds of 1 cross strain and hope for a male. let them ride, and then just harvest seeds from the one female I liked best. other pollinated females get thrown into a buddy's field across town. he wants to make a forest lol
yeah im not looking forward to that part. right now if the two plants im hoping to reveg work im going to do a round of clones, one to make a new mother and a few to play with. I know I want to cross in an auto and right now im leaning towards lemon cherry cookies from FB. im running that in DWC and she's has the prettiest almost black buds. One the plus side after a round or two I should have enough seeds to last me for the foreseeable future.

Since we're nearing the end of week 6 start of week 7 I pulled out the trusty microscope and checked some tricomes. we're still at least a week or two away from harvest i think I might shoot for more amber than usual this time. im not sure i am overall happy with the bud formation and we're gonna let her keep riding. I know we're getting close cause shes not drinking as much, I will not be flushing the soil and ill be watering her probably up to a day or two before harvest to let her get a kickstart on drying. Since this is a clone from my random dispo seed mother plant im planning to try different ranges on the harvest window to narrow down when I like it best from this one. though I may flower out the mother sooner rather than not if my revegging plans for another photo work out. the genetics are great on the one im hoping to save that ill be grabbing this weekend after we do the second harvest off it (it was let to grow too tall so we staggered the harvests.) shes a dark purple pheno with massive buds and tons of trics so im hoping revegging will work on her. if so ill be clipping clones and looking at making some fem seeds off her then I can really play around.

Just an excuse to throw macros up really. I love close ups like this and we're just seeing some amber coming in and far less clear. ill probably start checking them every other day now I think for this batch im shooting for 20-25% amber. I normally pull closer to 5-10% but Im not in a rush right now. I've still got 3/4 of an oz left and I just got a few gs off my bestie last night from her last harvest. I am tempted to start my next auto but I don't want to deal with seedling humidity right now. I ended up taking both of my friends plants at harvest, the one I wanted then the shorter one as well, there were so many shorter branches that were super leafy but had no buds yet and said screw it. I do need to repot them both and do something with the roots, from my understanding she weighed the containers down originally with pieces of brick. between terrible lighting, not phing their water and not properly feeding them those plants produced a lot of surprisingly good flower. I can't wait to see what I can do with them in better conditions.

Just like the title says. Overall progression is good, shes still being water every day/every other day when the pot is light enough. We've got some new white hairs popping out but im not too concerned yet. im tempted to nip off a branch or two to get a range off her but at the same time I really want to be patient since some of the lower buds would still have less amber in them anyway.
I may pop a seed for my next run or at least get it going in the tent anyway since we're looking a few days for one to pop followed by the seedling stage which would be fine overall, next grow is a pringles can grow of another fastbuds mystery auto!
love the idea ! my auto in a solo is taking off.
I did something similar a little while back. I did a mystery auto seed in a 4 inch nursery pot. ended up with over an oz dried and trimmed up i was impressed
wow !
she was a wild little plant finished up super fast too, I had used a fb mystery auto so I don't even know what strain it was im still smoking on her and she tastes like straight grapefruit
thats awesome. the strain is got my seeds from is called high octane I orderd an oz off a website and it had seeds in it so I said we'll let me try to grow these and this is what I have accomplished. they're defenatly autos makes me wonder if they were selling herm bud for cheap tho so far no seed growth on my buds!
that's awesome. this one is a cutting from a random seed I found in some store bought last summer. I figured why not pop and try a photo so I grew it out and experimented with making my own clones and like super cropping and topping. the mother is a massive shrub now I have to keep cutting back. I've got two ladies im trying to reveg for my best friend that also came from some random flower. if I can get those back into vegging im gonna try out some cross breeding for my personal stock
that is the way to do it !!
I love purple strains and the two revegging were gorgeous massive purple buds even with how poorly they were grown so I've got this idea of crossing it with a dark purple auto (probably lemon cherry cookies) so ill have my own seeds of something I like and ill have both photos and autos if I do it right so I'll have options. I like cloning enough but Id rather run from seed most of the time.
I agree I wouldn't mind growing that cross keep me updated !
will do! if it works out ill be drowing in seeds
thanks man

First photo is from March 17th the second is from today March 26th. Just under 10 days and you can actually see where the buds have fattened up. I just figured Id show an update since I've only been posting macros.
nice π
I love before and after shots!!! thanks for sharing
its wild how much bigger the buds can get in just a week. they're getting dense too and should be a good smoke once dried
looks like nice solid buds enjoy the harvest
They are so solid i squeezed one today and was pleasantly surprised with it. This will probably be the best end product yet for me.
nice yeah my current grow is some of the largest and densest I've ever grown looks like a good year for it

Trics are turning amber and we seem to be getting some cal issues. going to add calmag to the next two or 3 waterings at a minimum just to boost it back up through the finish here. The struggle to not chop is real at this point. shes not as frosty as I'd have liked so ill probably call the mother or try grafting other strains onto her and make some monster mother since her root stock and growth are amazing. still working on revegging the two I took last week. one of the plants is already showing signs of recovery. I've aspirations started my next grow the pringles can grow with a gorilla cookies auto
looks like it still has some white pistils and clear trics, give her some time and she might fatten up even more. or she's stacking bracts (foxtail). hard to say from photos but either way looks nice!
she had popped some new ones but has since stopped popping new ones we still have a few days left though
hard to tell from the one overall photo but it looks like it still has a lot of white pistols I'd let it go at least another week if it's an auto or two weeks if photoperiod. at least imo. Everytime I thought my autos were close to being done I was wrong they still had quite a bit of growth and stacked on density to the buds. once I started seeing a few solid amber trichs I pulled my first one
oh yeah these were from almost a week ago she had thrown a few white hairs for a few days but has since stopped we got a few days left now
ah ok then yeah it's probably close lol
I always have a tough time making the call to chop because I don't want to miss out any weight lol
I get that, I harvested way too early on my first few plants but I try to avoid too much couch lock. She's really bulked up the last two weeks
shit I been growing for 15 years and still have trouble determining even using a scope to check trichs lol mostly because I'm just sad to see the tent empty out but there's always the next round. gonna be setting up a 2nd area soon because I have a lot of auto beans a friend gave me gonna do half indoor half outdoors and then 4 photo clones in main tent for my next run. so in another 3 to 4 months gonna have a hefty harvest coming that should hold me for rest of year. after that gonna try and do staggered stage growing so I'm perpetual harvesting every 4 to 6 weeks
that sounds like a plan, we have a limit to 4 plants currently in my state so I've got my basement where I usually run my autos and my mother plus my 2x2 for whatever I don't want to do down there for whatever reason or for a photo. I'm trying to reveg two plants I got off my friend after harvest she neglected them and still managed to get a decent harvest off them so im hoping to bring them back, make some clones then some feminized seeds off them, plus I have future plans of crossing with lemon cherry cookies auto to hopefully get myself a super dark purple strain eventually
technically my limit is 12 mature plants at a time (6 each for me and 6 for my wife) but I mean really who's counting lol I don't think anyone is gonna come knocking unless I advertise what I do. I just moved to a new small town in the middle of nowhere where I don't know a single person and plan to keep it that way
I've never really done any breeding just cloning. once I find a couple solid producing strains that give the looks and effects I want I'll keep a couple mother plants by revegging them into a mother after harvest. might keep one the Tropicana as a mother afterwards. I have a small 2x2x3 tent that I can throw one main mother in, a 4x4x6 tent and a 5x5x6 tent total in my basement. haven't utilized the 2nd one yet it's not even setup
don't blame you there, ours is 4 total per household but less than 25 is only a fine so if I have a little overlap or have too many cuttings at once im not super worried. my husband doesnt really consume so its all for me and the few friends ill share with.
yeah my wife and I go thru at minimum a qp a month smoking it lol so I gotta be able to produce a few elbows a year just to cover our personal smoking habits
makes sense I only get through a few gs a week when its just me, maybe more if im over my friends house and only because we'll spend all day smoking and being lazy but that's every other week or so when im over to do her nails. I like having at least a zip stashed these days.

The struggle to not harvest is real right now for me, my buds are super firm and dense this time and normally I'd be harvesting her already on a hybrid since I prefer a more saliva high normally but im trying to hold off another week or so. im happy for the most part with her and I've started my next experiment grow (currently a sprout) so once this girl is chopped ill be posting about the new grow.
sugary goodness there!!!!π
Good Choice! Patience rewards...

Well we are almost there now. I'll be harvesting either the 3rd or 4th she's still hydrated enough from the last watering so I'm going to just let her finish drying back and get a start on drying out. I am so excited to chop her down. Then she'll be popped in the basement to dry, it will probably take about 8-10 days the RH is always a struggle but the temp is really stable down there it's just on the dryer side. once I get that second tent set up ill be making a drying tent
nice job!!! now comes sticky fingers and sticky scissors.... lol have fun!!!!!
I hate trimming so much! Thankfully i'll get a little time before she'll be dry enough to trim up. Though saturday ill be in trim jail with my bestie helping her with the second half of her last harvest and prepping the trim to make some bubble hash with it.
look into bowl trimmers. I hate trimming so I took a chance and got one. can be used for wet or dry trim. I have better luck wet trimming. takes it from a 3 day process to an hour. you don't get the same quality trim as a hand trim but if someone complains I just say it's free, feel free to give it back or next harvest they just get a cola and I'll say you trim it ππ. no one complains anymore...
lol I've looked at them and if I get to the point where I have massive plants ill be investing in one. Right now its not too bad since I don't grow the biggest plants yet. eventually I'll probably get one especially if I get myself a resin press too.
just finished trimming our lady here and we've got a final dry weight of 40g. got her packed into curing bags and my trimmed bits in the freezer for bubble hash later on. here's to my first clone, first photo in general. my personal stash is good now for the next two months off her alone.

these girls are RESILIENT
she is! ( at least I hope it's a she the seed came from a dispo bag)
