How many tents do you have? ๐ค
3... 1 for each phase respectively... IMO perfect for the home grow. ~2 mo flower cycles ~ 2 mo veg cycles Out goes one, in comes the other. Except, I'm about to transition to regular seeds, So I'm gearing up to flower all my fem photos. Time for me to quit foolin around. Only Craft Genetics for me here on out.
Nice. I'm currently just running a 2x4. When we get the basement cleaned out (bought the house stuffed to the gills!) I will be moving to the old laundry area down there. Year round the temps stay between 60ish and 70ish. I'd like to add at least a 5x5 and maybe another 2x4 for drying. Gonna have to wait till we hire people to clean that out first though, it's that stuffed! Hopefully sooner than later.
I would love to have dedicated grow rooms vs tents... but in reality, with plant limits and all, tents make so much more sense. Less energy for environmental regulation, Less space taken up, easy to break down for storage easy to sanitize, everything seems to be easier except space is limited. Which in certain senarios can be a major PITA. Like plant checkups while scrogging... yeah damn near impossible to do a thorough check. Or if your packing plants and need to water the ones in the back lol.
I am lucky that the basement was barely half finished so long ago. So we are going to clean it out, and gut it. then I I will have enough room to do pretty much whatever I want. I could easily run a 10x10 and a couple other tents if I wanted. I will cross that hurdle when I get there.
That's awesome. Always good to have options. These are what I consider good problems to have.
Took my whole life to get to this point. Funny how much more money you have when all the kids are grown up and on there own! I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination. But wow. I love them, but our kids were expensive! ๐คฃ
I still have 6yrs, but time flies so I'm making the most of it.
Please savor every moment, When you get to my stage it's more begging them to make time in their super busy schedules! ๐คฃ

Now that's what I call a flowering, done well there, Stash, you should have a decent crop when it comes to harvest, really nice looking crop. Good on you.
I appreciate your kind words... As with most things in life, give them love and they'll reciprocate.

During my daily inspection I caught a nanner. Checked Trichs said F it gooder enough. Pretty decent haul, upon trimming I only spotted 2 more, both in early development. plucked and removed.
Now to the dry/cure. And watch her roomie finish out... because that one's straight fire.
dang it. at least you caught it. and they look good with some size to them.
They all can't be flawless. And really with so few I could've plucked them, but honestly didn't want to make it a daily thing. she was bushy. Trichs aren't too bad. I'll take it. (edit: trich sample was from a bottom bud. It's so dry on my porch the sample bud is almost dry)
What is a nanner, sorry a bit ignorant as far that one's concerned..
It's in essense a male flower. All good though caught it before pollination.
At least you caught it in time before any damage to the rest of the crop. Thanks for the info.
I can never find them in time.
Some are trickier than others to find... And those are the ones when you do find them, it's normally too late. Sending good vibes!

She be done didder. Wish I had an extra week but she's still sweet... going in for 3 month cure.
There's some nice buds & when it comes to smoking it, well that's one for another day. ๐
Thanks, If you think these are nice, be sure to check out my FB Gorilla Melon. I'm almost wrapped up with trimming and will have an update later as well.
hell ya!
Very unique cultivar. Jamaican landrace crossed with a Cuban landrace. Sweet aroma and flavor with caramel undertones. Good strain for creativity and energy uplift.
man, sounds amazing
It's good, but wait till I bust out some snow caps using Gorilla Melon. I'm screening the trim of that, and cold pressing some flower into rosin. Firing up the hotplate and tar & feather time.
FYI: If I'd grown 2 out, I'd definitely would bump it up a notch and use one strickly for bubble hash rosin vs pressed flower. But my wife really likes this strain in flower form, so my supply is somewhat limited. I'm giving her 3oz of that batch as I got 3 more due for harvest in 2-3 weeks. Super Runtz, Gelat.OG & Permanent Marker.
๐ฅ
those are all winners. gonna smell real nice over there
LOL. I'm somewhat immune thesedays... or rather accustomed is a better term?!
great ending my guy. well done.
Well you seem to have it all worked out on your side, but I still have some blue cheese & about an Oz of Armageddon and this stuff is to die for. Cheers Stash. ๐

I was wondering about suddenly flipping photos to 12 & 12 instantly. Do you notice if they are happier with the gradual shift? Also, does it add a significant amount of time to flower?
It's ๐ฏ fine to shift to 12/12 if your plants are nice and healthy. I used to do it this way straight from 24hr vegging all the time. But, after growing outdoors a few seasons, I've settled into a simple yet rather complex flowering procedure that allows for smooth & predictable transitional behavior and also buys a week for last second tweaks like bending branches for optimal positioning before final form sets in. As far as does it take longer... not really if you treat the transition as vegging on your calendar. The simple part is the transition from 18hrs to 12 takes 12 days. Removing 15 minutes from each end of the "day". I can further detail the complex, if you're interested, but I've short answered everything you requested so I'll stop here.
This sir has gotten me very intrigued. I am already running a natural wind cycle and using the sunrise-sunset option with my lights. I had always wondered about abruptly changing the light intensity versus doing it gradually as well. I am just looking at it as more natural for the plant, possibly encouraging it to produce a better final product. Maybe it is just the tree hugger in me, but I believe in all this "intelligence" (to over simplify) stuff going around...
IMO, keeping check DLI is more important than graduation of cycle... I'll try to explain my logic. Keep in mind, this may be "Bro-Logic". A plant is only able to capture so much light in a day before it starts to stress... That's why we low light our plants that veg on a 24hr basis. At 18hrs we want it a little bit brighter to compensate for loss of DLI during lights out. So if you graduate your day cycles without compensation in light intensity your plant isn't going to have optimal daily photosynthesis. Daily DLI recommendations will vary strain to strain and environmental conditions. I'll upload a chart here for you so you can visualize what I'm focused on.
Look at the chart I uploaded to my 12/13 photos... see how DLI drops off @ week 6? This is what happens if you keep the same light intensity while performing a sudden 12/12 flip. No matter if I graduate light cycles or suddenly flip, I monitor my DLI and will adjust my Sunrise/Sunset and Intensity to make the DLI transition smooth, if this makes sense.
some of it makes sense. I'm s little foggy on it, mostly because 2am, and my brain is shutting down... I do get DLI, mostly, it's what I am sure I will be deep diving next (Thanks ๐คช).Right now i only have the PAR app on my phone for measuring DLI. I do adjust my intensity and check the par. With my light about 80% at 20" is keeping me in range for veg. I do promise to reread this at some point when I am more awake and the old brain has a better chance of organizing itself...
