Grow Timeline (30 updates)
Increased liquid supplementation volume by 1 liter per day due to increased VPD as a result of lower humidity after Dehumidifier install
In week 5 of flower their demand for magnesium is the highest. also tiger bloom can also drift your ph. I recommend feeding magnesium sulfate and vitamin b1.π
They look a little farther along than week 5 of flower, looking good
Thank you! They probably are older tbh. . Thats one of the reasons Im excited about this app because time and me dont mix. Time and reality feel more like water to me and sometimes looking back is fuzzy like pond water thats been kicked around lol.
Thank you for the tip. I will look into getting some of that.
So I went back and looked at photos and they are about 5 weeks into flower. I just posted photos for July 20th when I gave it a major trim. Check it out cause I think its crazy how well it came back in just that amount of time! I did a bit of research into this strain and its known for its speedy growth and resilience. This is one of the reasons its gotten so massive. Its more like a tree π³ or giant bush than it is a weed plant πͺ΄. The base stem has bark like a birch tree.
I adjusted the timeline about a week since it likely went into flowering stage a week after I took those photos on the 20th of July. Good call!
There's a lot at play especially so during flowering. Arguably the most important phase is 1-2 weeks prior to flowering is to boost roots and nutrient uptake. I call it charging up. #1) Microbes and other beneficial organisms that help assist in breaking down nutrients for optimal nutrient uptake. #2) Silica, Calcium & Magnesium will harden your plant cellular structure to help build strong branches so they can carry their weight unassisted. #3) Potassium/Potash (Pot-ash) Nutrient/Carbon helps the binding process and nutrients to actually absorb vs flush straight through. #4) Physical Preparation... Things like pruning all lowers that don't pass the height check... Pinching bud sites that don't have a chance at proper lighting, Super Cropping to increase upflow and strength & any final toppings should be performed a week before flipping. Durning weeks 1-3 of flowering is the stretching phase, where your preflowers start to actually developing in mass. During week 2 or 3, pinch off any sites that you may have missed or got outgrown by the stretching phase. We also want to lower the N & up the P-K. Note, I personally find soil pH to be most effective from 6-7pH. 6 being early on in life and 7 towards late flowering... with 6.5 as the target in between. It's all about maximizing and targeting specific nutrients for optimal uptake. If you like I can send several charts via DM. Weeks 5-7, for most cultivars is the bulking up period and 8-10+ is the maturing phase where senescense sets in. Ironically this crucial phase I feel most noobs don't let fully play out. Having said ALL THAT. Your grow looks pretty damn good for the 1st shot. Good Luck!
Wow! First of all I just want to say thank you for typing all that out my friend. Tbh im fascinated by this whole thing and currently looking into colleges to take my love a step further (gene analysis, breeding etc). I highly recommend the books by Robert Pavlis on soil, plant and microbe science if you havent read them already(not saying you need to just sharing as you may enjoy as well). I think Ive been following the steps above but tbh this first grow I didnt know near as much as I do now. I literally just let the plant do its thing. One of the things I unintentially experimented with was enducing flowering at a young age until it developed bud sights then I put it back to veg and as result I had so many more shoots at the base. I dont think I will do that with the clones but was an interesting experiment. This round I plan to follow the 1-4 above but Im also going to try amino acid supplement. I read that the amino acids allow for calcium absorbtion and in turn the plant will develop more bricks. I have been watching the videos by NPK industries and Harvey Smith which is good stuff. I will absolutely take any charts or supplemental information you have my friend. I appreciate your time and look forward to bouncing plant science off each other. May God bless you and the soil you grow in.
Professor Bruce Bugbee has a online cannabis cultivation course for around 1400 at the University of Utah
Oh really? Thats awesome! Thank you for the information I will definitely check that out. π
Got myself a few new toys today I used the Vivosun pump sprayer. Taking the spray nozzle off the end makes it come out like a watering can but wothout having to tilt and lift a big can. Plus a lot cleaner with no drips etc when watering a bunch of little cans. Def worth the investment. Not sure I will use for feeding / fertilizer yet but likely will unless I'm doing micro /bacteria additives.
Unfortunately by the time I got done mixing up the nutes the lights were out for the night so no pictures today. I will say tho that the plants odor is getting much stronger. I may have to look into a oil diffuser or something to make it a lil more pleasant for the neighbors. I have the exhaust going outside but when the Dehumidifier runs it pushes the smell out the vents. I personally love it but I know to some it smells like a skunk. Im thinking cedar or sandalwood type smell will be better but Im open to suggestions.
I use the npk RAW all in one as well.
I add the same 1ml to 1L with Calimagic a must with RO water
What kind of RO do you have? I've been looking into this myself. Filtering the tap water has been working well but i need a less labor intensive way to get 5 gallons. Im thinking about making something. Take a small rv water tank and hook it up to an ro but gotta fashion a way to measure specific volume or atleast shut it off when tank is full. (Use tank for storage)
Right now where I'm at in Minnesota the water is bad, I've been using the primo ro 5 gallon jugs at wal mart, I'm also looking at buying a new ro filtration system there's a lot on Amazon, when I do set one up next month I will post it
Yeah I've been looking at all the different ones on Amazon. I want to get one that has a tank of some sort. When I get my location im going to set up a gravity fed tank hooked up to an RO or install a circ pump like at a dialysis facility. Mixing nutes just takes too long filling a countertop brita filter over and over lol.
looks good
Thank you π We are super excited ourselves.
what's the strain man. The yeild looks like it will be decent
Tbh not 100% sure. We had a couple seeds saved that we found in good bud. One from blue dream and unsure of the other. We were hoping it was the blue dream as we loved that smoke but the leaves look more sativa. It being a hybrid its tough to say for sure. Will likely send out a sample for genetic testing as we made 2 generations of clones from this plant (pics in other grows on our profile)
lookin real good my friend real real good⦠I want to try it lmfao
Thank you brother. We are super excited to try it as well but likely wont be for another month. Roughly 2 weeks left of flower, then dry and then its on to the cure. Good news is we made 2 generations of clones so we should be able to put the next plants into flower as soon as these are done.
There is a very noticeable difference in the buds today. The Trichomes are turning cloudy and the buds are looks super frosty! I think its going to be just pH balanced water from here on out. I also have Yucca from NPK. Maybe will do that a few days before harvest. A few white hairs still present but they likely will change this week.
Keeping an eye on the Trichs still clear to cloudy. Still have white hairs as well hoping they change this week. Also installed more supports as the buds are heavy to say the least.
water one last time with unsulfered molassas with a bit of runoff and turn the light intensity down a bit and if u can get the tent colder at night and let it dry out for 2 weeks the plant will put the last of its energy into producing more frost and the buds will swell way more u can also drive a spike threw the main stock tricking the plant into thinking itβs being attacked by an animal itβs crazy what it can do for the final product
Interesting π€ We find it fascinating the way plants overcome
Yep, thereβs no doubt about that. My uncle used to purposely run his over with the lawnmower and then Iβd go back over his house like a month or two later and the things are like monster bushes thatβs how resilient they are.
Fortunately the weather is aligning nicely with this harvest. The dehumidifier is set to 55% but its produced very little water in the last 32 hours since we cut her down. Smells fantastic βΊοΈ
oooooo let us know let us know!!!!
Moved the drying operation to the closet so I can move some of the clones to this 4x4 tent.
You can't be lazy with those dry racks you gotta every day at least flip em, those racks do work I've used them for years but you can't be lazy or you get flat buds, they still smoke
ok will do. thank you for the tip
The buds were pretty much dry when I put them in this rack as they were in the tent for 8 days already. I did rotate them today but they buds are just about to enter cure stage.
All my different sensors are around 15% off on rh. I had to set my psychrometer in my room and figure the differences out. Talking bout a pain in the arse no one talks about. lmao
Absolutely PIA lol. AC Infinity came out with a dehumidifier but its in preorder state now so had to go with the spider farmer. Will be nice once I can have the humidifier, fans and controller working together. Took a bit of tweeking so they arent fighting each other lol.
