Grow Timeline (28 updates)
advanced nutrients is great product. I been using it for 20years & I use to be sponsored by them so if u have any questions just hit me up π€
Thank you so much! I appreciate that and will definitely be taking you up on that. As a newbie at this, the more I learn, the more there is to learn, which is great, this is not a monotonous hobby for sure. That is awesome you were sponsored by them, I can only hope to eventually be able to grow something that is impressive.
make sure to mix the nutrients in right order . rhino skin first stir & wait 5 minutes add cal mag or just do a&b of no cal mag . then the micronutrients any order stir in between & clean mixer after each nutrient. pain in ass but it needs to activated
thank you! I didnt know to let the solution sit between nutes. im a complete newbie to this whole thing. ive never grown anything and am learning so much! every bit helps and will be useful for future grows! im very excited to do this again and again
only need to wait few minutes after mixing Rhino Skin or any silica products. U wonβt need to wait with others as long as u mixing & stirring after each solution
make sure to pick up Bud Factor X when u in flower . this product tricks the plant into thinking it being attacked by pests & builds up it terpenes to protect itself. this will need to be added before any carbo load /Bud Candy & voodoo juice or any other microbes
nice! definitely going to be getting some of that! I appreciate the advice! I cant wait to be able to put it to use
Switching to Bloom nutes for next feeding! I'm so ready to see my first flowers!!
I'm excited for you! πͺ
Thank you!! my first grow and I can definitely see how so many people love growing! its an incredible experience!
I've learned so much since the seed, finally there are flowers!! Growing is a wonderful experience!
Looking good man! Congrats on the milestone π
Much appreciated! the first of many to come π
just a suggestion, you may want to give her some magnesium. starting to show signs of deficiency. wouldnβt want you to lose out on your hard work. π«‘
thank you! I knew there was something going on, just wasnt sure what exactly. im still learning and theres a lot to learn, but will be so worth it!
Just water with Cal-Mag and pHed to 6.7 with pH Down
u using Advanced Nutrients & u needed to PH down to 6.7 ? that doesnβt sound right . I been using advanced nutrients for 25 years & the PH is always 5.9 after mixing. u using anything else with it . when u use silica always mix that first & wait 5 minutes before adding cal mag then u will add base nutrients a&b then the micro nutrients. I will PH up to 6.3 in soil , that will allow the plant to uptake all the nutrients in soil
I just did a basic watering, I use RO water so I add cal-mag every time. and just plain water and cal-mag was too high, so I had to pH down to 6.7. ive never used silica or anything except what came in the Advanced Nutrients Starter Kit, and Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra. I have been doing plain water every other time. nutes/water/nutes/water. should I be using nutes every time? I thought i was supposed to alternate watering
u can alternate, unless u doing micro dosing. Good to alternate between RO & tap water . RO u has no calcium or magnesium. Starter kits doesnβt come with Rhino Skin , that something u might want to look at getting as well as Bud Factor X which is great for flower it tricks plant into thinking it being attacked by pests & will produce more resin . I know it really expensive products. I was fortunate to have been sponsored by Advanced Nutrients & I still get free products & trial products. I known Mike who owns & founded company for over 30 years & tested his genetics.
that is so amazing!! that would be an incredible experience! I add Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra to the water no mater what. Will i need more calcium and magnesium than that you think. another person said she needed more magnesium. could that be because there isn't enough in the cal-mag? my tap water here is horrendous, its over 500ppm straight from the faucet. I got a report from the city and it was all bad so I went RO. I am going to add the rhino skin to my selection. they are expensive products but so far id definitely say they are worth it. the more I look into their products, the more I want them all.
if u adding cal mag stop using tap , unless u let it sit out for 24-48 hours to get chlorine out . some strains use more cal mag & also light intensity can require additional cal mag . u can lower the cal mag input to 1ml/1 gallon water. make sure the EC isnβt to high either. make sure u have good PH/ ppm/EC meter . always add less then the bottle says . nutrient companies want u to use more so u buy more especially if u grow any autos . u can always add more in , harder to take out . see how the strain reacts to the solution
mixing nutrients it goes silica first, 5 mins later cal mag , then A&B then the micronutrient. Also if u gonna use any microbes better off getting voodoo juice PLUS tabs instead of each bottle of piranha & tarantula cheaper that way & lasts awhile that goes in last
thats pretty much exactly how im doing it. I am growing autos so I have been using half on everything, except cal mag, that I have been using 2 ml/L every time. I really appreciate all your advice! its been so helpful along the way. thank you! I hope to learn a lot more from you!
nice! I am looking up some of there stuff now. I had an attack of fungus gnats and I thought I had them taken care of and I was wrong. ive heard theres no/less pests in coco so I am looking into that for my next grow. being inert and having RO water i have a lot to learn about their feeding habits
wait you pH up when using advanced nutrients in soil? I haven't been. I should start doing that? that possibly explains some deficiency issues im having. the leaves are yellowing and so far it hasn't mattered what ive tried, I cant get them to go green.
when using advanced nutrients & most other hydroponics the PH is 5.9 . when growing in soil itβs best to get it to 6.3 . growing organic it can go up to 7 . u have to use a meter & not guess . also u cant just add ph up & down to the solution. get a shot glass fill with water & add oh up or down to water then add to mix & if u ph to much , dont go adding down . just throw it out if u went to far over .u never want to add ph up down together
you may want to look at your nutrients and what they recommend when to add cal mag. most recommend cal mag be mixed After the base nutrients, then additives, then ph. there definitely is an order to adding, like canna says.
I definitely test pH, before I started i began I tried to learn some of the basics, and pH was something that every piece of information I found talked about. I am using RO water. I start with RO base, I add Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra, wait 5 minutes, add pH Perfect Sensi Bloom Part A, wait 5 minutes, add Part B, wait 5 minutes then add the additives (Voodoo Juice, B-52, Bud Candy, or Overdrive). the additives dont all go in each time, but I add them last. am I on the right path or am I doing it wrong? with ro water should I add cal-mag first or last?
u really only need to wait 5 minutes after stirring the silica if u using it , if not then all u need to do is just stir each nutrient after u add in each one . voodoo will be the last thing u add in . u really only need to feed once per week. u can add the additives during all feedings . I have asked advanced nutrients few times to upgrade there feed chart so it is in the mixing order & never get a good answer
watch what coco u use . Canna coco tends to have a lot of Thrips in it . coco can have as much bugs as soil .
I got 3 of the 2lb bricks from AC Infinity. I think it'll take 2 of them to fill a 5 gal pot, kinda hoping to get 2 5 gal pots with all 3 and perlite, maybe a 5 and 3 gal pot if not. try that the next grow. I need to get my feeding and watering schedule more consistent and worked out before I try coco tho. im an over-waterer so far ive learned
I havenβt used ac infinity coco , check to see if it needs to be buffered , with the bricks u have to use water anyway to expand it . so it will wash the salts out which is good
it says its prebuffered. theres a bit that needs done to it before its ready. was gonna go through buffering it also that way I know its done
itβs brick so u will be adding some warm water to it anyway that will help wash out any salt it has . I havenβt used coco bricks in a long time . we use to mix up some cal mag & mix it in . u can also add worm castings & perlite
your babys a tweenager
what's your soil mix?
the soil is 60/40 ocean forest/happy frog. the happy frog came with an insane fungus gnat infestation that I am still sort of fighting with. turns out those things are persistent
they grow up so fast!
I think I'm gonna just do all coco and perlite next time. it's hard for me to know when and when not to feed, even with charts. drain to waste just seem a whole lot less complicated
I totally agree! I am yet to encounter an actual watering or feeding that doesnt have some kind of complication. something as basic and easy as watering a plant. I am looking forward to trying the coco out
looking good π€
thank you! im so excited my little girl is becoming a full lady! :)
for not topping its nice harvest for one
I will say this tho switch to coco coir so the roots can stretch out more easily. way bigger plants check it out.
thank you! I have read a lot of mixed things about topping autos, some say it works just fine, some say its a set-back there isn't time to recover from so I just let it do its own thing. im in the process now of trying to learn about coco coir. I am going to switch for the next grow, but I also dont know what im doing entirely so trying to figure out enough so I dont kill or stunt the next ladies
looks nice !!!!
My first harvest is getting close! the smell coming off her is biblical! i hope to learn patience through this, the longer I give them, the better it'll be.
yes patience is the key I'm learning that myself throughout this whole process and that's one thing I never had
Holy crap I grew this!! harvest time is beginning.
how many weeks have u been in flower ?? cause I can't tell if u fading or need some cal mag .when u about week 5 in flower they need some cal mag. just a knowledge for u.looks decent I bet u excited for smoking it !! just be patient!!
congratulations. first times always intimidating. get a 100x magnification glass and check tricomes on the underside of the flower
did 8 weeks in flower. it was definitely a deficiency before the fade. I use ro water so im always adding cal-mag but no matter how much, I went up to 4mL/L even and it was never enough
thank you! I have a 60x already was wondering about the 100x. everyone is so friendly and helpful here!
thank you! I have a 60x already was wondering about the 100x. everyone is so friendly and helpful here!
theres more than these few, already had them hanging
I can only imagine the anticipation at this point.
its off the charts! I need to work on my patience big time. I hear the longer it cures, the better, I can only hold off so long.
first grow ever didnt yield anything spectacular, but my skills weren't very spectacular so im super happy with the 2 and a half ounces dried that I got. smells and tastes better than anything ive had in a LONG time!
There's nothing wrong with 2 and a half ounces of premium weed. Congrats!!!
Congrats π
It's definitely a positive thing, soon enough I'll be harvesting much bigger numbers and I am excited for that! My friends all love it!
Thank you so much!! It wouldn't have been possible without the help I received from the amazing people here! If I could sit you all down for a sesh of my first batch id be honored! Thank you!
π₯π₯π₯π₯ bro congratulations
Thank you! Its an incredible feeling when you get to enjoy the buds that came from your own plants! The amount of pride and happiness is phenomenal!
