found mushrooms growing in the soil. used fox farm. don't know what kind .if they good or bad.. sld i remove them?
fungi don't hurt plants. they actually help in root productivity and sugar exchange. mold KILLS plants. you my friend got lucky. I personally would keep the fungi
thanks
Not a bad sign, but just back down on watering a bit, allow some dry back.
This is actually so cute. Fungi and root systems are best of friends so you should def keep em, the real body is in the soil anyways. Look up mycorrhizae and living soil, real interesting stuff.
thank you for the advice..I'm leaving them there.
mushrooms are normally a good sign when dealing with soils and compost etc... typically meaning top quality π
the 2 that are flowering are pine and not very full. the other 2 are green crack and haven't produced flowers yet.
stress will cause delays in flowering with autos. your plants are very stressed. π« without more data for us itβs hard to say what happened to your girls. provide ec, ph , humidity and temperature this will help us help you.
I lost use of tent and equipment. I'm gonna try to build my own tent with pvc pipes and mylar then buy lights and vent and figure out how to set it up. any advice wld be helpful.. doin it on a budget. only got bout 250 I can spend
also I dont know how what to do next for plants. I dont know how to flush or dry them. not sure when to add what nutrients.. do I need fox farms 3 pack?
Depending on how quickly you can get some kind of remotely stable environment, or growing outdoors at this point. Nutes may be the last of your worries...
well I'm in the process of building my own tent..lol no clue really what im doing, have never done any kind of project like this. no blueprint, lot of remeasuring and re cutting. got maybe 50 in pvc, emergency blanket were 3 bucks for 2 pack, amd zip Ties.
also I had 40 bucks in menards rebates..lol. ordered lights and fan amd filter from ebay. was 160, cashed out some games I play for 90 of that..lol
so hasn't cost me much. definitely cheaper than buying a pre-made 4x4 tent. wld have been easier, no doubt. but im really proud of ehat im building. wanted to share with like minded individuals
looks good just hope no light gets through it but apart from that great job .
thanks. im gonna try to make sure its seal with silver duck tape
thanks. im gonna try to make sure its seal with silver duck tape
aslong as light don't get in when lights off it will work .but looks good don't need to worry much about detail just the light that's it .ππ
I got the same setup. I'm using my closet right now. it's sealed pretty good with pieces of Styrofoam to close any gaps. works awesome
I've done similar lol had an attic grow once i used thick black plastic/trash bags and lined it with emergency blankets and split it into 2 areas for veg and flower. got the job done haha
Say less, MacGyver. Thatβs heart right there. You must have lots of tools to build that? I got a screwdriver and a pair of scissors. what! what! lmao..
lmfao.. I just called myself lady macguyver at work the other week when I makeshift a desk. ya i got tools.. a saw to cut pvc,and boards, duct taped emergency blanket to boards, sld have used a staple gun instead of duct tape. used my drill to drill holes for zip ties to hold boards to pvc.
word!
Hell yeah! Gotta appreciate the heart β€οΈ. Also thank you for sharing. I think you should be very proud of what you made. Regardless its your freedom and craftsmanship thats admirable. Do it lady! (reference from chitshow youtube)
built tent with pvc , emergency blankets, and thin flimsy boards I got from work.
dont look the best but I'm kinda proud of it.
I'm 40yo female, I've never built anything like this in my life.
tryin to save some green crack plants. they haven't flower yet, but i think they should have by now.
the green crack i think I planted April 20th. so it's been about 10 weeks.
that's awesome!!!! good job!!!
bro looking good.
Looks great for a DIY project for sure!
thank you
lol..im a female, born this way..not a bro. but thank you.
thank you. loke I said I've never done a project like this so im kinda proud. need bigger exhaust fan, but think it will work.
brilliant job get them on 12/12 now give it 1 week then start the count down
ok. thanks. i got them on 16/8 right now. ill go change the timer to 12/12
so they have started flowering.. im gettin excited
brilliant just keep doing what your doing you will be fine π₯π
fuck yeah rock on!
thank you. im proud of it. ive never done projects like this.
temp 74 and humidity 55%
the leaves started curling and I thought it was cause I had a fan blowing directly on the so I switch it to face the wall. but now I have yellowing on the leaves. not sure why. these girls have had lot of stress. and I think they only got some big bloom one time. other than that just water that I check amd adjust the pH
it's hard to tell with those lights. maybe turn them off and use a regular light. if you've only fed once and they are out of soil nutes, they may be starving!
yes agreed they starving or u put to much of ff big bloom at one time in water remember first time feeding you should do half or a quarter of dose of wat is on bottle to see how they react or maybe ur underwatering it what size container are u growing in May be root bound
definitely need to get rid of that light it's adding unnecessary constant stress 150 buck u can get an awesome farmliyt grow light u should look them up so just as good as name brand lights all I use now but 300bucks cheaper have had them now 3 yrs n run every day all yr long
they are in 5 gal menards buckets with holes drilled around sides and bottom got them sittin up on little wood blocks so not sittin right in plastic drain container. Just did ff yesterday.. moved the light further away also. they have definitely mlbeen stressed. thank you for advice.
I moved them further from the lights. I think they were too close. they are only 600 watt lights. I wldnt think they too powerful. think I paid 95 for both of them.
yea I just gave to much food to a young clone well 2 lol last night and now they are looking the exact same smdh but wat do we do just learn ik I won't do that again next time lol or ever happy growing growmie
well i just gave food yesterday and it was doin that befor the feeding, so Im not seeing more yellow development after moving the lights further away. hopin that will help. next cpl day will tell I guess, thank you
definitely try to come up on a full spectrum light n ditch the blurple I've been right there where u at now when I just started out same trying wat was givin or told was a deal
so thinking about my next grow. as a new grower, I only want to try 2 plants. what im debating on is if I should/want to try 2 of the same or 2 different plants?!?! opinions, please????
different strains are more fun, watching them grow, how different they look, but it's much easier to do 2 of the same strain. id take it a step further and say 2 clones from the same plant. when you start getting into multiple strains you're going to find they all want something different. one will want to be fed more, one less. you'll end up making 2 different batches of food with different EC or you'll end up over feeding one and underfeeding the other. Even seeds from the same plant can want different care. my last grow was a 2 plant, seed from same mom. one was fed appropriately, the other had nitrogen toxicity but I couldn't change it because I was in rdwc.
been giving these girls some general hydroponics nutrients..and they are looking good. Just started flowering. wanted to share some updated pics.
hi Iβm a rather grower myself I wish ya luck your pics look great
thank you. I built my own "tent" lol very new to this also. this is my 1st grow.
Iβve done 2 grows and working on my 3rd you should check them out if you can and give me some feedback would be appreciated highly
by the way nice to meet you
lookin about ready, so what do I do next? Basically what sld i do when? please help this first timer...
when you decide itβs ready(10% amber trichomes and 90% cloudy) chop and hang dry in 60/60 environment with good airflow. I dry mine for minimum 14 days or until the stems snap
ok what does 60/60 environment mean? do I need tonlet it hang to dry in the dark?
sorry, 60 degrees F and 60% relative humidity. needs to be as close to that as possible. hang in the dark if possible because lights and direct airflow on them will degrade trichomes and terpenes. remember if temps and humidity get too high the buds will lose their terpenes and trichomes.
Now is the most difficult part: you wait for them to ripen ;) based on your pics I'd say at least another week or two but it's hard to tell definitively without a close-up. I'd recommend getting a cheap-o jewelers loupe or microscope off amazon so you can check the trichomes, that's the "best practice" way of determining when to chop. As the other poster mentioned, maybe start getting your "dry and cure" environments planned out or ready
ok thank you. I do have a magnifying glass with a light on it i have been using.
That will work as long as you can see those mushroom like crystals up close. That's where the 90% cloudy 10% amber that the other guys was saying cones into play. Overall she looks great!
sld I start flushing them? Just water not nutrients? I been using General Hydroponics.
I agree based on your pics u have some time left .stop giving it nitrogen.id just use water if I were u
I would definitely go another week with your bloom nutes and the flush for a week or two before harvest
took some pics with magnifying glass to show trichromes
hey all, thank you very much for the likes. hope everyone having happy growin!!!
You went from building a tent to try and save them to now posting pics of trichromes. Thats pretty awesome! Bet it feels good π
I've stopped giving nutrients. just ph balanced water. I'm not real sure what to do next and when. I wld appreciate any advice. the trichomes aren't half amber yet though
if ur n last week to ten days of flower just finish flushing these 7 to ten days
ok im not even sure if im in last 7 to 10 days. then what do I do after just using water for 7 to 10 days? Just trim off the sugar leaves, hang them to dry for bout 14 days?
really only looking for about 20% amber.
ok.. thank you
yes and then cure for at least 6 to 8 weeks⦠burp ur jars and b patient promise it a all be worth it
Being a beginner myself, the suspense is killing me. Yours and mine are looking at the same level of ripeness. I believe I have at least 1 more week left because my trichomes are still very cloudy and have not got the reddish tint to them yet. Check your smaller buds lower on the branches. The trichomes there can tell you how much the plant still needs to mature.
looks good from here. id cut her down. cut right at the base and hang the whole thing upside down. closer you can be to 60f and 60% rh the better. fan to circulate air, but not blowing directly on the plant. when you're ready we can walk you through the next part. nice job so far!!
oh wow. u really think so? I was thinkin a week of flushing without nutrients, just ph balanced water...
oh wow. u really think so? I was thinkin a week of flushing without nutrients, just ph balanced water...
you could go now or in a week. was just saying you're in the window to cut.
ok. thanks for the advice. I though i needed to flush the nutrients. get the water to be mostly clear and the leaves start turning yellow.
ok. thanks for the advice. I though i needed to flush the nutrients. get the water to be mostly clear and the leaves start turning yellow.
sld I be leaving the lights off this week while im flushing? before I cut and hang it, do I need to takin into bath tub and run water til it clean then put in dark for like 48hr? I was told that..idk when I sld be doin darkness...
I been flushing, the water is not draining clear. amd do they need time in darkness befor I cut and hang to dry? do I need to trim the sugar leaves off before hanging? I know i gots lots of questions and I appreciate all the help. Again this is my first grow and I'm learning..thank you.
Run off will probably never be fully clear. Taking large leaves, will make bucking and trimming easier after hanging. I leave the fans on, and go dark for 72 hours before chopping them down.
there is no published, peer reviewed scientific evidence to prove it does or does not do anything. 1 prohibition made studies nearly impossible. 2 every strain is going to be different in means of terpine production so it'll be very difficult to get a repeatable outcome. what is know is in the dark THC will not increase. what trichomes are there will ripen faster ie going from clear to cloudy or cloudy to amber. also with no photosynthesis the plant will start breaking down some chlorophyll, if it's a noticable amount is debatable. one thing other things to consider is humidity spikes in the dark period and at peak flower humidity is your enemy.
not everyone rinsed either if u running live soil that's throwing away money.none of us are sure u ready to harvest u need a jewlers loupe I have the ac infinity one u look at tricomes and when 10-20 % your tricomes are amber it's done .but u should definitely stop giving it any nitrogen
also, when do I do last watering befor either putin into darkness or cutting and hanging them? tha k you for all the help.. im sure some of my questions seem dumb but please member im a 1st timer
if u have a good camera on ur phone u can zoom in on the bud take the picture and zoom in on the trichomes to see them that way too and i always let my trichomes go 30 % 70% and the guys on the real DGC live by putting them in the dark for 72 hours ive never tried it i just use bud candy and always get really great results ive used molassess and i think bud candy works better my preference it all boils down to do what u perfer take a little of all the advice and piece it together and make it work for u
Thank you Glitch for explaining that. I laugh when people say they are putting them in the dark. One person says to do it then becomes thatβs what you do. haha I havenβt heard a logical explanation for why it helps. I have tried it and I found it to be useless.
there are no dumb questions. I dont so the dark thing so I can't tell you from experience. but I don't think I'd want it super wet. I would probably lean toward dryer end but not bone dry. I don't know if that helps or not, it's one of those your results may vary kind of answers
so no one talk about how tedious and time-consuming trimming is...wow!
and I just have smaller plants.
so now im lettin them dry in a box lined with news paper..hope thats ok. only way I had to keep in dark.
then do I need to cure them in a jar? how do I do that ehen its dry?
Yep, just turn on some music, and dive right in. It's a labor of love! You'll be glad you did, after it cures. You will eventually get faster. π
yeah it sucks. I don't consume much of it myself so I have a few comrades that I just hand branches to and say 'you want this, you can trim it' oh and a bowl trimmer..........
once they are dry, cut the buds off the stem and put them into mason jars 3/4 loosely filled. don't pack em in. once a day give the jar a gentle shake to move the buds around and take the lid off for 15 min. do this for about 2 weeks. when you take the lid off squeeze a few buds. putting them in the jar draws moisture from the center out. if the buds feel wet again, put them on the dry rack for another day and start the process over again. if they are too dry, stick a few fan leaves in the jar with them and it'll rehydrate them slightly
thank you. ive got them in mason jars. I been opening them. wasnt sure how long. but how long do I need to let it cure , bout 2 weeks? then it ready to smoke
you can smoke at any point really. longer you wait the better it'll be. Ive had buds that really changed in aroma complexity at 6 months. went from lemony to a floral lavender smell, I thought I mislabeled it. others didn't change or improve after 3 weeks. so it's really up to you.
prollly take her down this weekend. started germination for new seeds. hope everyone will continue to help me learn as I start my 2nd grow. I smoked some that I harvested 2 weeks ago.. I was blazed. im proud . wish I cld share it with all you that help me.
nicely done!!!! that first grow high unfortunately will be the best you ever had. don't get me wrong, the rest will be good too, but nothing like the first. as always if you need help, you know where to find us ππ
hanging wirh my buds, gonna trim them up and start drying. as my first grow is coming to and end, I've started new seeds. Hope you guys will follow and help me with my 2nd grow. thank you
We are here for the ride. Congratulations on the harvest π
Me personally I hang the entire plant leaf and all if you leave all the leaves all the moisture thatβs still in. The leaves drains out to the buds and has a longer slower dry time. Thatβs how I get my 14 days drying by leaving all the leaves I donβt do any kind of wet trimming and I find it comes out way better way more sticky after the plant dry and then when you carry it, itβs still sticky through the entire process.
ok. I got 2 branches hanging dryin with leaves still on..gonna try it that way also. does it need to be in complete darkness?
I donβt separate branches I hang the entire plant leaves and all
I do the 6060 method 60Β° 60% humidity 14 days preserves all the terms I donβt lose any
Soon as you start cutting branches off the plant and hang the branches it dries way too quick
Soon as you start cutting branches off the plant and hang the branches it dries way too quick
I wouldβve let that go another couple of weeks and watered it a little extra to make the leaves fade out fall colors. Take a look at my outdoor greenhouse and look at all my plants. They all turned fall colors, yellow, red oranges beautiful colors I just harvested on Sunday all my plants
i have green crack in 3rd week flower . good strain to start with . good luck , if u have any questions everyone this app will help u out . this app us especially good for peopleβs starting out . we treat everyone with respect. this hobby has so much to offer & no matter how long u been growing u still learn new tricks
when u growing especially when u start out u want to tell people that u grow . be careful & donβt tell people u donβt trust a 100%. this goes for states where it legal to grow . people will do anything to steal your shit . if u indoor growing u need to protect the family . Iβm an old time guerilla grower over 40 years . my great uncle was a cannabis farmer since the 1930βs . good luck π π & any questions donβt hesitate to reach out to anyone on this site . good group of people
Thank you
this 100% is not said enough.
