Grow Timeline (17 updates)
moving this Banana Purple Punch to the grow tent with the strong light means CalMag required for all feedings. noticed it started losing color and whipped up a fresh batch of goodness to resolve. let’s see what the next node do.
Transplant complete! The roots were definitely ready for a new space.
Hats the hose looking thing tied to the back right corner of the tent? 🤔
I’m gonna do drip irrigation eventually. Was playing around with the setup.
That's cool. It looks like you have a bottom feed/wicking tray underneath the grow bag. Will that just be to collect runoff once you turn on the irrigation system?

Yes to the base collecting runoff while i hand water. i have new trays coming with built-in drainage for when i start the irrigation. Trying to automate as much as I can this year.
Accidental 500+ PPM feed to this Guava Fig Auto at less than one week old combined with high dome humidity left her roots waterlogged and stressed. The fix was simple but slow: a flush, letting the coco fully dry out, then a light 220 PPM feed. Nearly a week of patience to get her back on track.
Need to defoliate Banana Purple Punch tomorrow. It’s getting a little unwieldy. lol. Also, it’s much more green than it looks. Not sure why my camera is doing that.
Guava Fig 1 is progressing despite myriad issues. Hella resilient. Hoping the flush and fresh nutrient solution straighten things out before she begins flowering.
Are you sure its the camera? I see stripes of yellow along the fan leaves
Yeah, I’m sure. My eyes haven’t failed me.
👍🏿
Your right🙈
You do have stars and strips. Jus don't Wana lead ya wrong buddy look really close sometimes camera sees before you do.
Don’t know what to tell y’all. 🤷🏾♂️
No worries you don't gota say nun jus keep a eye on her or up a lil bit on nutes no big deal
I started a third seed (Guava Fig 2/GF2) because I made so many mistakes with the first two plants this season. It’s my first time growing in coco and doing drip irrigation. This one will benefit from the early mistakes. I have a second tent coming so i can give it its own space and the best chance to thrive. Transplant imminent!
I have a question, I have also started some seeds and they are getting first set of jagged leaves, when should I give them light ?
Wait, what happen to the first 2??
they’re still alive and heading toward flower. i’m referring to letting the reservoir get warm from a circulation pump i actually didn’t need and not noticing for a week. then over feeding one as a seedling accidentally because i thought i had the ppm right. low runoff ph struggles. the one pictured had a slight issue to start, but i got it under control fast and didn’t lose much time. so it’s benefiting from what i fumbled with the first two.
it needs light now but not a full blast turned up grow light. depends on your setup. i’m sure one of the advanced growers can give better guidance. this one has had a mix of dome and sunlight.
Thats good to hear! Glad you got it back on track 👍🏿🤙🏿
GF1 is fully in flower and BPP is taking her time getting there. She’s on day 35 of veg and day 49 overall. I’m wondering if the slow start led to more time, or if it was the high light intensity before it really needed it. Or it could be that this particular plant is taking its time just because.
GF2 is doing very well post transplant. She’s in a 5 gal and the other two are in 3 gal containers.
Everything is dialed in. Had to reconfigure the two in the 3x3 because BPP stretched way more than expected in all directions. I’m really happy with GF1’s turnaround given how poorly she started. Very resilient!
GF2 looks like it’s gonna be wildly bushy already. Should’ve fed her yesterday instead, but oh well.
Transplanting autos will throw it into shock. That will be time lost in your grow. Be there done that. Just a heads up.
Plus it'll flower earlier some times 😉🤨 But ya what he said, if you don't water like a day before take a butter knife pry up bottom an be really easy it can be done without stunting them
That’s not necessarily true. I’ve been transplanting autos for five years and haven’t had an issue. The solo cup sleeve has worked well.
