Grow Timeline (16 updates)
Coming along well. watered the grow bags in yesterday and added grow dots to the top of soil. Will start to harden off the gods glue clones and auto flowers outside for a few hours everyday once the rain clears up so I can move them outside at the end of the month.
another couple weeks and the Gummibears should be done
Hey Smokie, I see your growing in coco this is my first time growing in peat/coco anyway I feel like I'm giving my plant a massive amount of water is that normal?
no not really. this grow I have been giving 10% water to soil (~1/3 gallon water to 3 gallons coco) every other day at lunch like clockwork. I am not watering to run off as that is only necessary when you bottle feed. how much water to soil do you think you use? what is your temperature and humidity like? if your enviroment is off then they will consume extra water. and when you bottle feed them I believe salts are left behind in the coco when they are up taking too much water which leads to buildup.
a gallon and half every 2 days there bottle nutes so I go to about 10% runoff, I feel like that's a lot but if I go any longer she droops bad, I like to keep her in high 70's but some hot days I can only get it down to low 80's humidity is between 55%-60%
this is my suggestion from experience. I started off doing cocoponics using Gen Hydro. I’ve done the flora, maxi and flora nova series. I’ve also used emerald harvest before. it’s so time consuming to mix all those nutrients and fight deficiencies, flush and clean up run off. I want to spend time doing other things in my grow not watering. My stacked 5x5 is 3 ingredients. Fox farms 70/30, 15 grams Grow Dots per gallon soil, and 1/2 teaspoon recharge per gallon every other water. no PH. no runoff. it will cost you so much less time and money. I can tell no difference in quality from a cocoponics grow thus far.
so with that being said drop the bottles. the only bottle you need is CloneX. Do a grow dots grow exactly how I’m doing it. invest all that extra money in getting the perfect enviroment. I have learned that Genetics and enviroment are the most important thing. everything else is secondary. get the quality genetics and optimize your enviroment, then experiment with other ways to feed your plant.
I love how much time im saving and the frustration hassle free of just adding pH water is with grow dots, but at the rate my 2 biggest plants are drinking water I'm going to have to start daily watering I think
yea you might have to. i just use old distilled water jugs from my humidifier and mix up a few days worth of water. if you are going to flower on the 20th you still have the chance to top dress specifically for flower and be done with the bottles.
I can relate to that! I've been saving all the empty milk jugs to fill with tap and sit out in the sun for a day or two. I then bring inside, let it cool to room temp, ph, and then mix the GH nutes in 2 of the gallon jugs. Since I have some autos at different stages I have two different mixes of ratios. I am eye balling when watering the amount but it isn't too hard to visualize quarter gallon/plant in the gallon milk jugs. The ads for the "Nute Needle" pop up on my fb and that thing is definitely tempting. I'd assume it would make measuring nutes without spillage a breeze!
Smokie, any recommendations for what to use for pest control with the autos? My mesh tent has helped a ton but I still take it off during the day for max air and sun. I know if I can smell them, then so can the bugs and would rather prevent by getting ahead of them.
lost coast plant therapy. doctor zymes. good ole neem oil. sulfur sprays you can allegedly use til harvest. make sure to spray both the underside and upper leaves. I’ve been considering getting a fog master jr for my outdoor grow to really get a good spray on them. if you have artificial light don’t put the plants back under them until they dry. you will burn tf out of them.
I used to buy the packs of cheap syringes on Amazon and I had a little ml measuring cup I would pour nutes into then syringe out. get some Velcro and attach the syringes to the bottles you use them on
Soo much knowledge in this update. I went with the maxigro series of dry water soluble nutes but after seeing some results of grow dots and the simplicity of it I may have to try some. Smokie always dropping the knowledge for the growmies and showing off some killer flowers. Top teir cultivator 💪 my first try taking cutting to clones is absolutely crushing it with the help I received.
I appreciate you Growmie. I just want to see everyone who wants to grow succeed. for me it’s therapy. I like maxigro and all Gen Hydro products and I would have shilled for them before trying growdots lol. but the ease of growdots is so much nicer for me as a busy person and I think for a new grower it will uncomplicate growing until they can learn more.
Pic 1 - Gummibears Auto by Atlas Seeds- taste like nothing unfortunately. it’s a smooth smoke with a smooth high which I enjoy. not too strong and a pretty chill daytime smoke. larfy buds. maybe grown under optimal conditions instead of the middle of summer it could improve. only the top I broke off is ready but I’m guessing 1.5 ounces at most off this plant. If i received them
as freebies again I would grow them outside again but plant at beginning of march or middle of august so it’s not flowering in 95• weather.
Pic 2 - Blue Dream Auto NASC white label - i absolutely hate everything about this plant. super larfy and basically all leaves. smells and taste like berries covered in gunpowder. the high is a very strong dirty head high that is on the verge of giving me a headache. Nothing like the OG blue dream. about 20 grams in the bag. if given as freebies again I would throw them straight in the trash.
damn
I didn’t expect much. i spent at most $5 on each plants and I didn’t give them much love either. I’m not an auto grower and I won’t waste tent space on them. I may try some early season Mephisto or Nightowl seeds next year outside so they can finish by middle of May because I think the heat didn’t help these plants.
well for out door they were not bad looking.
They are looking beautiful and that was 3 days ago, very nicely done Smokie
I appreciate it Growmie
