Grow Timeline (27 updates)
Working on Mainlining my girls everyday so far. All was going great, and my leg slipped under me somehow and I broke off a main stem that was gorgeous. I'm having a moment of silence. Really hoping I didn't kill her or seriously stunt her growth.
my my mess up turned into a learning experience. I broke out the microscope and took pictures of 1 of the fan leaves , and the inside of the main stem branch that was headed for greatness. It's interesting to me to see how fast it dried up after I took it out of the water.
All plants look great, nutrient uptake is good, EC perfect, water temp regulated at 70 degrees.
After I topped and trained, I fed generously Fish Emulsion mixed with water at 72 degrees 6.0 PH, EC 2, PPM 3, 2 tablespoons per glass of water mixed well and poured around main stem 3" from center. Each Plant got this treatment.
Super excited to move to flower. Now it's time to generate some buds and get to maturity. Im so happy with everything we have learned so far. Thanks to everyone who has been answering my questions so far and commenting! It really keeps my spirits up and makes this more fun. Now to start tomorrow my lighting validation results. It was enlightening! :-)
Hey Rand, they look good brother, just a heads up during flower you may not want to use the IR light from your camera at night. The light that you see they see as well.
I need to defoliate again. Man what ya see in pics. Here i was all excited, and they need a "haircut"
Seems the additional UVA lighting installed at my canopy lighting is really helping, or it's running up my electric bill. I don't know the baseline for tricombs being produced at the last week of generative veg in flower would be normally with just a IonBeam 3 light. But, I saw a YouTube video from a grower who recommended it so I figured in for a penny, in for a pound and so just bought it.
My gosh, these plants really stretched. I'm beside myself impressed that with my flubbup at first with my new equipment, not buffering the coco, mistakes in training, these girls are so strong that they're really doing a good job of filling it all up. So much bud being stacked its amazing.
Seeing as though I have a full AC Infinity setup for the main tent, in wanted to try uplighting in flower to increase yield. AC doesn't make legs for their lights, and I don't have a 3d printer, so here we are. I found these on Amazon for $21. They have the right light spectrum and a built in timer for seed, veg, flower, but totally white light (less Blue and ultra Red but still there). I want to see if they make a difference. At 60W what can go wrong for a week or 2. They're bright as all heck man. I will update at harvest for bud site generation near the lights. The bud sites close to my side lighting are almost better than the tops, so let's see what happens when I flood it with light lol.

So how is that going are you liking the out come
I've only had them there for 24 grow hours. The bud site generation does seem to have stepped the the pace a bit, but it's too early to tell yet. I bet I see a large difference by Sunday if it works. :-)
Please let me know
What u using for side lights? I installed the AC infinity side light set couple weeks ago & they working good . Looking into under canopy lights to see if it worth it
Ac Infinity S-16 . The bud sites by the lights are stacked man. Thats why I decided to do the underlining to see if it helped the other sites. I have them in my Propogation tent and main tents. Love them, plus pretty power efficient
Update video getting done now. Wow!
wow! Beautiful. I'm intrigued. I am sticking around to see this progress. The sun hits plants from all directions, yet we're limited inside the grow tent. Im new to growing indoors, your experimenting is exciting.
It worked. All lower bud sites are stacking like crazy, no difference in bud generation up top. Its using between a gallon to gallon half every 2 days, but that's alright. These are amazing results for $20 lights
Just a quick update, best thing I've added to the tent. The girls are stacking on the weight in the areas where light wasn't getting to. They look amazing, and for only $20 lol
It has blown me away how much bud the girls are putting on in the lower areas and inside. Night and day. Best $20 I've spent on them lol
We're did you get them

I have to say, after watching a Debroko cannabis university video on plants responding to lighting in the flower stage really got me thinking. I mean, all the videos I've seen and research, seems like the reason for lollipop is to improve airflow and remove lower flower sites to concentrate plant effort for bud. I added more fans for airflow to keep away mold (these are dense nugs) But I have side and up lights now, and wow does it show, for $20. Highly recommend.
I got some readings here for everyone so you would know how my lighting is performing. Will add as a separate post.
Hell yea growmie thank you good-looking out I just ordered a 6 pack might get 6 more just in case
So much resin on these girls my arms got covered just defoliate a bit last night. 1 or 2 more weeks, then harvest. God it smells amazing! Im planning on harvest when I have 20% amber tricombs.
They are really, really putting on the weight. Love doing this for my Brooke.

This one looks like it need way more than 2 weeks. It looks you're only a week into the fattening stage. If you're looking for amber, go off the plant not "recommend" flowering time. That being said, SIR! GATHER YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES AND MUSIC ALBUMS CAUSE TRIM JAIL IS GONNA HAVE YOU ON LOCKDOWN! π Beautiful plants!
I feel that. Its my first grow and one of the Gromies on here gave me some similar good advice. He said " when you think it's time to harvest, wait a week or two". So much info online about when to harvest for the best results. Thats why I just kinda (dart at the wall type) picked 20% amber tricombs overall. Super stoked to try them out and enjoy my hard work. The resin from my trim last night was so much that it completely covered my right hand and forearm. I rubbed it in while trying to clean it off with alcohol. Wooooo Nelly!
Yeah you figure out quick that it's all personal preference. Seeing it for yourself is always better over time. Also, how did your arm feel after that fresh resin massage? π₯΄π«
Lets just say I felt pretty darn chill, and a bag of Doritos lost its life in the aftermath/afterglow. which every way you want to look at it lol
Definitely glowing! π€£π€£
New growth exploded everywhere, top of plants exploding also, using a gallon of water a day with nutrients.
U were satisfied with the under canopy lights? Did u use lights that were specifically designed for under canopy or did u retrofit a regular light ?
I got some cheap LED boards from Amazon with a driver for $20 on sale. I was going to use them for the succulents, but because we are in flower, Brooke asked if they might help. She had noticed how much more flower was stacked onto the bud that was right next to the side lights. From what I can tell, and granted it's only 1 grow of data, but for $20 I risked it. Im going to out my PAR readings and intensity map for the lights on here for people. They seem to be super bright, and power efficient
Good for the lower flowers & bulks up the larf buds
Looking good stacking that bud on
Brooke and I took our time looking to validate. They really have seemed to respond. No burned leaves, nothing bad has happened, and only more bud everywhere
Just a quick update, everything lower that the lights are hitting is growing like crazy. Its remarkable the amount of weight they put on when I added those lights.
These girls are absolutely monstrous now! So much light during the day that even the bottoms look to have lots of fat nugs everywhere! Everything is developing nicely, clear to starting to get milky tricombs, and the amount of resin that gets everywhere is the best added benefit that no one talks about at this stage. Wow, just wow!
She is just oozing stickiness all over the place... I can almost smell through the pics, nice job boss!
The smell of these girls is intoxicating. The bud development has been great to this point. My expectations have been surpassed by Pacific Seed and AC Infinity. Moving to last week of veg w7 nutrients with Athena, and then finish for 2 weeks or 20% amber tricombs. I did observe an increase in both Tricomb production and opacity today. Im not sure if I can attribute that to Genetics, additional lighting all around the plant, or environmental stability. So happy with this !
Any notes you guys can share about how much I should defolitae due to the amount of light I have and airflow would be helpful please. I have to note, the air is moving in the tent per the amometor (sp) from a buddy as 3 mph so that's kinda cool lol.
I strip the lower 1/3. Any shoots that haven't made it to the canopy also go. Doing this usually opens up the middle of the plant. With that said I usually strip the 1/3 a week before flip and chop the shoots after she bolts. At day 21 flower I'll take any fan leaves that block bud sites and clean up any new growth from the lower 1/3. As far along as you are id start clipping the bottoms, few branches a day taking about a week to finish the process.
Awesome advice man, thank you. I will do just that. No one told me about the resin build up on your skin btw, and when you clean your skin with alcohol. Thats a true growers benefit, and the reason I have to wait lol!
See pics. I tried to make sure I had measurements for the angles that didnt make sense as I looked at the Pic. Right next to the IonBar is over 2k ppfm so bright sunlight. When I measured the light drop-off to the inner plant nodes it was dramatic so I will be defoliating now a bit.
Under the full canopy the lighting was only 32 or something like that, even with my side lights installed. With the bottom lights on for the $20 uplighting experiment I boosted that to 500. Please see grow info for equipment list. Here is the Amazon link for the uplights im using. Highly recommend them, virtually no heat, around 100 w.
From what I can see, 12" from the Top of plants will give you the best results for the stages. I have them written down and will add them to the post tomorrow. This way you know the distance, ppfm, and what the lights actually put out instead of hype. :-) i hope this helps, all questions and input welcome.
MY GROWMIE BROTHER My My what big bud you have there just wow what a absolute huge difference in the lady's with in just a few days thanks again for looking out on the link
Can someone hit me up i havent started yet but I need recommendations on building something outside for my plants the whole world can see mt backyard
DLI over PPFD? Some to look into I was amazed when I found out
I have to upload the full results page. I have it lined out for each reading, from 12", for each lighting level. Doing a "new" treatment so if that works I might feel better soon and then watch out lol! I have it for the main light and S16 lights.
100% correct my brother. Spent tonight experimenting with my propogation tent due to this video and the one right after it for the light i bought lol. I looked into it and decided to try for 100 light peneteation for growth. https://youtu.be/au7G-oVDeKg?si=vx1XHxgKx1UWtrLB
Wasn't sold on wanting one of these, but now i get it. Easier to take pics (use Pro mode so your phone doesn't switch cameras like crazy) . Not as good as my scope, but i also don't have to take a sample to check. The black light made mold shine (we found some on a succulent inside garage for test so that kinda worked out).
Inspection loop I use
https://a.co/d/0awvyBdk
Damn, I wish I got this instead of the one I got. Itβs a digital loop lol that one but no Black lighting. Just led, and zoom magnification. But itβs hard to keep my hand steady to snap a picture.
Just some beauty shots. Pretty proud of how well these girls are growing. Just doing a feed and maybe prune a bit because their bushy. Next two weeks might start cleanse, so please let me know your thoughts so I don't mess up harvest.
Ohhhhhh look at them sexy lady's showing all there good off lol
How much should i prune, looking at harvest in a week maybe? What do you think?
Also thinking of changing to water only at 6.0 no amendment. Make the plant push all chloroform out and use resources for a cleaner smoke.
I have 4 fans in the enclosure, so far no mold issues, just great growth and bud development. But now I'm noticing tricombs are cloudy for the most part, thinking of cutting all nutrients, pruning, and see what happens. What are your thoughts? How much should I prune? These girls are massive and the branches are having a hard time at this point. Glad I added another net a while back.
I would only prune if budsites are blocked by fan leaves or if the plant needs more airflow. Other than that, feed her and watch her ripen. Also, Flaky is a wild description for buds π€£
Only the ones blocking bud sites and ,always leave 2 to 3 fa.n leaves for photo systhnthisys.
Big thanks to all my Growmies for the assists with questions and ideas. Love what we do, love what we grow, welcome to "The Good Place". The smaller stuff is just outside colas. I can't name the pics but you will see the big ones. Massive harvest on outsides because of side lights and under lights. Holy crap it produced like crazy.
First 15 are from sparce plant on the left. We harvest plant on the right tomorrow. All where approx 36" high, with 8 " left to the coco for the plant on the left. Very heavy as well, tight buds but springy, no problems and did a wet trim.
Those look phenomenal π₯ π
Well damn, those stacked nicely!
We pressed and got great results. Saturated with resin, great tricombs also. We're making these plants into simpson oil and a pain cream. They smoke a little harsh because of chlorophyll, but it only takes 2 drags and you're there.
Well, all the hard work, learning, baby sitting, training, worry, stress, and the most satisfying end, its all worth it. My extra lights populated all of the stems that normally don't get light, and the addition of the bottom lights exploded the bottoms of the plants. This is amazing. Not sure final weight, but the little plant on the left was enough we could tell the difference in hanger weight, it even made my mic stand droop.
Nice job! π€πΌ
This Ace OG Killer strain is no slouch. Im glad I gave it a chance for my first grow. Thank God I had time to veg longer to fix my mistakes. I lost some due to 3 of my huge buds hitting the light and got burned a bit, other than that amazing. The under lighting made all the difference. Now everything is in my cannatrol (Homemade version) to finish proofing. Tomorrow I move the next girls to the big tent and start tomatoes.
Hell b yea thats awesome congratulations
Thatβs not Evan close to being done yet jsuk them white hairs will turn amber when there done as far as the stigmas that are almost amber them ainβt Evan the right color yet . U probably would of had some nice smoke but itβs ruined now
Check the buds next time for amber not the leaves
No worries mine wasnt perfectly done til my 3 rd run donβt be afraid to ask for help
Tell ya what, im scared if it gets better. So smooth, no cough, amazing flavor and the aroma is next level.
the Strain is ACE Killer OG, but i lost track of when I actually started the grow. I didnt have things set up optimally and it suffered for a bit. that's why I gotta wing it now lol
haven't gotten to that stage yet nut from what I've gathered it's more of a how much space you got to let them get taller but not burn from being too close to the lights so want to try measure for double the plant size when flipping
Cool cool. I'm excited to harvest, trim and enjoy. I want some quality instead of Dispo
You could flip it now or wait for it to fill out the trellis a little more. Its up to you. Plants look great BTW
