Thanks man this is my 1st solo grow in probably 10 to 15 year back before it was legal in va and we did things differently (but not alway better lol)

Dude it truly is now I can go out in my yard when before I would be on a four wheeler for 45 minutes and then walk another 30 before I got to them and if it was dry and needed to water them then wow talk about a work out we didn’t use much nutrients less it looked kind of weak. We mostly just mixed horse maneuver in with the dirt in the soil and let it compost for a year and use that.

😆that’s what I want to get back to but I’m using fox farms this year but I started a compost pile and horse shit compost pile and I have a pile of wood chips that’s been seasoning for a few years a local tree company brought me a few loads that was just poplar and curly maple chips I was going to ad it a kind of airy medium

That's perfect, I am trying a couple compost tumbling bins that I got but it just don't hold enough soil. I don't have room for a big compost pile like I want

If you own a small garden tiller then what I do is use that to chern it up but I live back in the boonies deep Appalachia and land is plentiful but the area is uber poor I have about 2 acres and my brother about the same and able to do a few things like that

Depends on your drying environment. Rule of thumb is to shoot for 60/60. If you can't get it perfect, get it close as you can. I dry in a hot garage so I dont trim anything so I can slow the drying process. If its cold, trimming may be necessary to prevent mold

Yes. I also, in hotter drying environments, jar the bud earlier to prevent over drying.

I started them after paper towels germ. In just a miracle grow mix then when I put them in the bigger pots it’s a mix of the rest of that some wood chip compost that almost completely soil now and some horse manure compost after a month started using fox farm big bloom and grow big I started at a quarter of recommended feeding

Next time though I’ll prob use some fox farm soil with black kow or indicanja (I think that’s how the spell it but I still need to think about that

Just a tip... stay away from miracle grow!

Cow and horse poop compost was about all we used to use back in the day I had a buddy that had some type of nuts in a pop bottle he used to give me and I would put it on about 4 time throughout the whole season but I swear I couldn’t tell you what was in it we use to get some good bud but nothing like it is now

Yea the genetics are good nowadays. As longs as their not back crossed 100 times! I've used living soil i built out of roots Organics 707, FOX Farms ocean forest,perlite and mixed a bunch of organic fertilizer in from down to earth. It's been amazing so far! Can't wait to see the outcome

Yes, every one of my grower friends swears by ocean Forrest and 707. But I straight put it on crack by turning it into a living soil with all of my organic amendments

If it’s eastern Tennessee then that’s pretty much my back yard we just got back from a weekend getaway just right out side of Knoxville also picked my daughter up from Knoxville airport when she got back from Japan for school last month and I go to Bristol tn/va all the time it starts to become a real long journey around Nashville I think that’s 6 hours away but where I live I’m about 10 min from Ky and 45 to 50 to tn if you look at Va it kinda looks like a shoe I live in the toe part of that shoe. This one guy I seen had one of those Amazon greenhouse and the took that thick black plastic that would go from one side to the next over top the greenhouse and had this long pole on a hinge that way he cover the whole thing by his self just by swing that arm/pole from one side to the other. When I did mine I just made a square like 3x2 and taped it and tape the front for me to get into and worked great but killed the plants didn't know that I had to harden them off so it was my fault I was fuck this thing works great but kills the plants the moment I take them and I would take them out in the middle of the worst thing to do lol so yeah you live an learn

Man I swear for like 3 days after a feeding it just expands local dispensary has some grow stuff on sell and some of its 90% off but there ain’t much left but they had a bottle of silicate for 15$ so I’m going to pick it up Monday

They had some of that rooter stuff for cuts/clones but I say it will be gone by the time I get back

It usually avg around the mid 80’s to 89. But you can see swings from 79 to 93. The nights can swing from 65 to 77 but usually stays in the 70’s and it’s considered a forest area humidity can get high in the 80’s but usually stays around the mid 60’s I’ve had great luck growing both indicas and sativas but I find sativa do a little bit better dog days can get brutal here sometimes but nothing a little shade cloth wouldn’t fix

That's sounds like good conditions. Your girls look happy. I dont think a plant could stand 3 hours of direct sunlight in my neck of the woods. I exaggerate, but the humidity is the really killer. When I grew outside, I always panicked the entire fall about rain, mold, damp conditions. If you can't move them, you have to plant 3x what you expect to yield to account for the losses due to mother nature. But weed loves the sun man.

The conditions here are really good there might be a day here or there you have to worry about that is until dog days it can get a little brutal but I throw up some cheese cloth like stuff it really helps and if your using bought soil you have to worry to bad that stuff drains good (most anyways) but if your using local soil then either mix in some wood chips or the like or get a strain that fights mold pretty good cause some the soil can hold water pretty good got mix a little wrong this year on a couple of them and it takes an extra day or two to to become try which ain’t bad if your in the woods away from a water source but in your yard it can ruin feeding cycle plans

But it must be amazing to access govt based websites that tell you how much power it takes to sustain different sized grows. Like Va does. Lol I did some research on va. The company I work for has a factory in Bristol and I have been considering transferring if it's an option .

I live close to Bristol it’s about an hour and a half which isn’t long in these mountains Va has its ups and down but over all I like it and you already being from the south you prob a good idea about the ppl and politically speaking we are a purple state. So we have things like legal cannabis and an almost $13 min wage and also have open carry and stand your ground laws which works for me since I straddle the line on some issues it’s a little ruff where I live it’s the poorest county in Va but wife works from home and I’m disabled with rental properties and side businesses (nothing big) and if you got or going to have kids the schools are good especially the colleges and universities

And they have a ways to go. I love the big fans. I always try to keep one if I can. But in my little setup, space is at a premium!

We used to get a frost anywhere from real late Sept to beginning of October but it’s been years since I’ve seen a frost in Sept and usually it’s the end of Oct unless we get some crazy cold snap that who I use to tell when to harvest mine try to get it right before the 1st but not later then after the 1st one cuz it used to match up so well but now it’s getting warmer and warmer here almost like the seasons are changing it’s weird

They are looking better every day. This is what I call the veg run. You'll start seeing 1/2" to 1.5" of growth a day at times. My little ones just hit it. They put on almost an inch last night. Unfortunately, I can't let mine "run". So I'm flipping em now and I'll probably be super croping a couple. I may even have to lose a branch here or there! But they should be beautiful.

How is the fox farm fertilizer? Planning on getting some

It’s my 1st time using and I’ve only used liquid fertilizers but I’m really liking its been simple I got the fox farm trio of grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom. If I was growing indoors I would have went ahead and got fox farms cultivation nation (it’s there cal mag) but out doors I only use it right before bloom and during bloom but on their website there are feeding charts for soil coco and others and it goes week by week I feed around 2 times a week but I didn’t use any for the 1st month due to the soil I was using but after that I started at about 25% of what the recommended and every 2 or 3 feeding moved it up to 50 the 75 then 100 then just followed the chart I’ve played around with amounts after mixing but allow mixed to 1gal what they recommended and I like it it’s easy

Right! And i understand that because a lot of my health issues I have a lot of free time to look over the girls but at the same time it limits me in how much I can do at a time. But it just takes a few min on the morning and few minutes of the evening and a person can be right on top of everything. I chk on mine several times a day especially if it’s hot

Dude thanks because it’s a blessing and miracle that nothing more happened I was worried on one of the plants yesterday I picked off like all the big fan leaves prob 10 or more because they was so damaged and and about 5 of the smaller ones and it looked weak over all but this morning I choked on it and there was one spot that looked a little tired about half the size of my hand and the rest of it looked great and the others looked tired and weak but only had like one or two damaged leaves was it so when I seen what these pics show It was like Christmas and bday rolled into one needless I was worried sick and praying too lol

Let me ask you I prob got one more month of veg unless something happens and some of those side colas that filled in the center after training them are starting to out grow the other tops, should I try a 3rd topping on thoses or just try and train them down or clip the fan leaves off the nodes to try and slow the upper ward growth? I’m back and forth on what to do? It’s only on like 2 or 3 plants I would have to do it

I normally hate LST. So I just prune them off brother. Your plants are very healthy and don’t look like they’ll become shocked or have any issues with a little trim again. However, you might benefit more from the LST and just moving them out of the way.

We have an old outdoor unit and our frozen up yesterday it was working so hard all day long it had chunks of ice in it and quit putting out cold air lol I had to turn it off all night just got turned back on around 10 after it defrosted lol I’d never seen that before lol

Only thing I have with in an hour and a half from me is Walmart Lowe’s tractor supply and rural king and a local farm supply the local place usually cares the fox farm calmag but they was all out and I figured tractor supply or rarul king would have some form of it but they was out too so I went by Lowe’s and Walmart as a kinda Hail Mary but crapped out there too so I just ended up ordering online I’m paying about $5 more then I would at the local place but it’s hard to say when they would be back in stock but good news they are going to start carrying black kow (manure compost) again I love mixing that stuff in with the soil I use and for like the 1st month to month and a half I have to use any nutes and they explode I really think that cow compost is the trick

The fox farm trio was 40 bucks for all 3 together the sledgehammer was $10 and the cal mag was 16 online but I can usually get it around $12

I use sledgehammer too man. It's also good in foilar feed. The yucaa makes it spread.

This is my 1 year using it regularly last year on my brothers grow we used it once maybe twice but iWorks great everytime I do watering after I’ve used things seem to take off again

Next to the last one is the one that got stunted just a couple of weeks in but i chose to keep it and see what it would do

That’s what I tell my brother it’s the ritual of it all the process everything from breaking out my tools and getting my hand dirty growing to breaking out my plates and grinder and papers and trying to roll a great joint it’s the process the ritual of doing it that just as beneficial as the meds itself

That’s cool you mentioned that so my goal with 3 of the plants is try to get maximum amount of sunlight and airflow throughout the plant I’m trying make sure each node or bud site is getting sun penetration down to it and the airflow isn’t just good for keeping thing dry it strengthening the main stock but when you pull those main tops back what was the secondary stems grow in and become top colas too but if you leave them alone they will lay up against other parts and not form a strong stem so airflow helps with and if I need to I’ll use a little wire and pull them into an open spot and in a couple of weeks they will form that knot near the base and harden throughout just like the main stems and tops I have one that I’m pretty much leaving along and one where it’s kinda of a mix between the two but for the most part thus is the method I went with this year

lol sorry for the book but I get excited talking about this stuff but your next grow try it with just one of your plants and see how it does. Where you got those big grow bags or straight into the soil it should work great

How do you like the fox farm line so far?

I’m probably not the best to ask. This is the first year I’ve tried a regular feeding schedule. But with that said I think it works pretty good. I’ve learned a few things since I started so next year I think I could get a little better results but it’s simple they give you a feeding schedule and a couple of guideline mix that with just some basic knowledge about leaf signs and a person can get some really good results. It’s cheaper then some of the nutes I’ve seen out there especially if you get their bundles but they aren’t the cheapest by far I would safe they are cheap for a name brand if that makes sense but I’m happy enough to try them again next year

Yes the trucks bulked up and seen quicker root growth and yes I had some fan leafs that are as big as my hands and I got Huge hands and other then during that heat they have stayed lime green that’s the biggest change I’ve seen how consistent the color has stayed a healthy green and how bushy they get especially after trimming

I tried it because I had seen it on something I was watching and they had videos on how to use it and feeding charts I use to see how I might use it too

Before that it was really all about the soil we gave a little bit of fertilizer about a month into it and again right at the beginning of flower other then that just add some manure to it and let it grow hell after the 2nd top we would leave it alone until flower and only chk once a month until close to harvest but we might have 5 or 6 places and around 100 plus plants each season

That was before everything was legal lol

To be honest it’s been a few years since I’ve grown like that but it’s a different way of growing then this style. We used to do it to have a little bit of smoke and some extra (I live I. A poor place you do what you can, from growing smoke to selling yellow root lol) and the last several years I’ve helped my brother and a few times helped a friend but I’ve not had my own grow in over 10 years that’s why I was so excited about this one I would love to get a micro dispensary card when they start that here that pretty much you grow you own stuff and the whole process is down by you down to the dispensary it’s a way for ppl in small pour communities to start a business and you can treat it like a mom and pop operation where ppl can come and see how you do everything of they can just come and get their smoke that would be the dream one day

Plus getting a dispensary license is like 60 to 80 k a year starting next year where as if you meet all the qualifications a micro dispensary is like $400

That yellow root grow a lot around here and there ain’t a ton of ppl hunting like they use to be so you can find some really good spots and dry land fish man you can eat your fill at the 1st of spring

Ok I thought I was weird for this because when I researched most of the ppl said to feed after a rain but I messed up and wasn’t watching and feed before a rain and my girl ballooned so I would try to feed before a rain when I could. My girls love that rain water so the rain water with nutes is a killer combo I even try to schedule my flushes around a couple of rainy days so they at least get the rain water while the nutes are being flushed

Im just saying after a storm there is a noticeable difference

I was looking on the fox farm site they also have their doctor line let’s say if you have a problem with a root disease or something like that the have something for it. I was late getting stuff together but I ordered 10 gal and 15 gallon canvas grow bags for next year. I’m used to growing straight into the soil in the mountains but the way my yard is and the type of soil I have it do best in raised beds or canvas bags just for the drainage

Oh yes they love to drink in this July heat! Yesterday was 103 here and I watered my ladies Monday just in time to hit the heat waive!

Dog days here usually run from mid July to mid Aug and can get pretty brutal sometimes. It gets so hot and humid here it’s said snakes go blind and wounds heal slow lol crazy if it wasn’t for this one month period it would prob be perfect but the Appalachian Mountains is considered a rainforest lol

Yeah I wish I would have had bigger pots to put them in but I ordered some 15 gal bags for next year, yeah I was hoping for them to be a little taller by this point but that’s all on me I was prepared this year. All the LST I’m doing from here on is just to keep the branches separated so it gets some good air flow and sunlight but I’ve one did 3 of them like that. As for the bloom the day light hours here doesn’t get under 15 hours til the end of June and 14.5 hours mid Aug so with twilight and sunset the usually go into flower from mid July to mid Aug sometimes late Aug but not much so I’m guess in that mid July to mid Aug time frame but I’m hoping I miss the worse parts of dog days

It’s prob an old timer thing since that’s who tought me, but they always told me the white hairs mean it’s in flower but you can’t count your 1st week done until you see buds forming lol it’s probably just something they come up with lol

She got some smells I have an acre of land and the plants are on one end and my wife went walking the other day and before she reached our property on the other end of the yard she said she could smell it lol

I guess it’s kinda proof if you got seeds you can make something happen. I hope I get it if I can nail the dry and cure I got a guy willing to donate some indoor grow stuff and I was going to gift him some of my harvest, if ya picking up what I’m putting down lol

I’ve been saving back money to get a tent and less then $150 was spent out of it so I started crunching the numbers but I hear ppl say all the time it’s an expensive hobby but really unless your growing top shelf stuff it’s manageable like really not bad at all

Keep in mind I didn’t pay for seeds this round. I mean I’ve got planes on spending a few hundred just on seeds alone this time but you can get free to cheap seeds if a person really wants to grow

I’ve heard of them but don’t know much but they seem cool have you heard of a soil called indicanja in a living soil you can buy and a full 5 gallon for autos and 7 gallons pots full is support to support and feed your plants through the whole grow

I have.. suppose to be good shit. When I done have living soil on hand I've always used Nature's living soil. You add about 1lb to 5 gallons of organic potting soil. It's good shit too. Just add water. I am currently planning the next run. I'm keeping all the clones in case I want to run one again. I might. But I'm sticking to the same "system" I'm using now. 1 gal pots with coco and automated fertigations. I'm gonna push them more next time. I think I could have gone harder. I'm only feeding them at EC=1.844 . I think they could have gone to 2.2, or 2.4 but this run is too late. Next time, now that I think I have the bugs worked out. "Knock on wood" I can keep my rootzone a bit cleaner, and push them a bit more. Looking at my buds, and looking at the breeders buds, mine are a tad small. But, I do have about 10 days left. So, we'll see how they finish.

Also the breeder is going to show there best buds and In the breeding process they have prob grown 100’s of them so they would really know the cultivar well

I’m probably gonna ask a couple of questions, I’ll be cloning Bruce here soon and wanted to know what to look for, which stems are best to clone etc. Yours look like they’re doing great

Dude I’m new to that too and just kinda trying different things this is something we used to do back in the so all I know is find a branch that has at least 2 nodes or like a node and a top bundle if it’s off the main stock they work better for me but really any branch will work take it off near the base then once off cut the end at around a 45 degree angle and put the cut tip in water for a min then get reg top soil or peet pellet and put it in and water good my cuts lay over near the top and look dead then in a few hours up till the next morning the perk right up and start doing good if using soil or peet don’t feed for the 1st couple of weeks if you put them into amended soil or something like happy frog you can wait a month before feeding the only other thing I know is you can put a small bit of honey on the end to help but I’ve not done that in years and really it’s not needed but the real key is in the angled cut and 1min water soak and directly into moist soil that’s the key

Your plants definitely look super healthy.i use worm casting going into bud .and I compost tea every 2 weeks kinda fun making my own nutes and Ipm liquads .my mentor cannabee thought me to soak mint and spent marigold flowers and stems I let that soak 24 hrs then add yucca and spray plants down .it's was just inside I had bugs I got ladybugs and nemitodes and whipped them bugs out I think I wanna get a other load of them they die off till u get a population I gotta get better at feeding them .they looked like they was having sex so idk if the hump or not like been seeing them mounted on each other like they doing it ! So maybe I'll get babys idk ladybugs cool tho

That's good though. You don't have to trim em all at once, and you can be really particular about the dry. Every time I've had to doore than a few plants at once I always get in a rush about mid way through. You know as well as me, that shit gets old. I'm not going to use a trimmer though. I purposely try to select strains with very few leaves. The ones I'm growing now arent leafy at all. But all this stuff is meant for production so I think they purposely breed out all the leafy traits. And the ones that are prominent are so coated with resin you can leave some of the sugar leaves on. The curl.back against the buds and look cool.

I usually take the tops the go about 8" down and let the others go, but it's Looking like they may all mature at the same time. Sounds like powdery mildew be careful if you have any lung problems. id start cutting a lot of the fan leaves cause it doesn't look like its gona let up anytime soon. It's the same fucked weather here an I may have to chop pbb and Dante early jus because they are so dense an the humidity hasn't let up in a week.Thankfully I bring them in at night but still this is bad

On one of I think I might get some reds and possibly purple but 2 of them I think it’s going be like that skunk or sour diesel look with lime green buds with orange hairs but dude I’m getting really worried with two of my plants one I think is a red stem Sativa like the red stem Congo and I think it’s going to have a long flowering time it’s just now getting the white hair bloom everywhere before it’s starts building the bud it’s self and the other one has the white hairs but but there ain’t much of them so I’m worried the flowering times are going to go well into October here (on just two of them) and that’s when the frost starts some time in October. And I don’t have a light or tent to bring them inside. But I’ve got to grow a purple strain with my bother that had purple leaves and bud with bright red hairs it was wild looking it was some purple punch cross he had but 98% of mine are green with white or orange hairs at the finish I don’t think I’ve even gotten purple leaves on the final flush before harvest and I’ve grown a lot of plants in outlaw grows

Dude I feel ya yesterday I took two big fans out there to blow air through them and near night time it kept tripping the outside plug off I had to keep resetting it i don’t know if the humidity was so high it was tripping it or what. But I had to take a branch off the other day due to mildew. Luckily it’s not spread since then. But I’ve worked out a trade with a guy for a tent and vent and light or I might be rethinking my position too. But I’m saying it now next year I’m going to get one of those cheap amazon greenhouse (as a starter kit kinda) rig me up some fans and ventilation and put some humidifiers in there for dog days.

It had been years since I tried when a chick I know hook me up with a little to try and went back and traded her skywalker for half of it and bought the rest that was a great summer but it took me a long while to find some of the original strain (found out later it was because they was in a lawsuit over seeds at the time) but now you can get it through old school breeders association it’s from reeferman genetics but they are on the expensive side $60 for 5 seeds (that’s why I liked to have a mother plant of that one for sure

I have both lol. I have rebought so many things to grow with. The loop was just.. not for me. I NEED glasses, just havent pulled the trigger on it. I'm about to go in there after this and start checking the trichs. I really hope none are ready yet at 7 weeks. Probably not. This is one of the most important times in a grow. If you cut too early youve already fucked up. And you already know it just a few hours after. You know what I mean. Weve all taken plants too early. This tool really helps.

I’m at 6 weeks and I still have some building into that tree or mushroom shape but on the top bud I have a mix of clear and cloudy and I’m still got a lot of new looking white pistils I think mine gonna go right up to that 8th week but I would the rest of mine are going to come up close to the frost time for me

You've got a beautiful place up there. And you can grow weed legally!!! What a combo. You can see them dealing with the heat. But they have pretty much acclimated by now. The worst is pretty much over. There will be a few more bad days but it's cooled off a bit down here. You're 2 states above me so I figure were about the same. You've taken such good care of them they are gonna reward you plenty!! Gonna have to call out the fam to clean these girls up!

Yeah we are through dog days now we might see the dew point get high but the over all RH should be getting better all of mine started flowering at different times I put on this app that they started flowering when three out of the four started flowering this started 2nd but it’s the 3rd furtherest along I thing most of that is the Sativa traits it has cuz the thing looks healthy and doing good it’s just flowering really slow compared to the other two and four one is the lasted it’s the one I’m worried the most about finishing before the frost I may end up having to take it a week or two early

2 methods I use is 1 for take small twine and wrap around the outer edge of the plant and when you tie it together take in just enough slack so that branches put their weight on the string the other is put 3 stakes in the ground around the plant like a triangle and either tie a twine to each one then off your worry branches to it or use a stick and tie to it then to the poles I’ll post a video of mine tomorrow and show ya how i did mine

I’ve got a couple that will prob push into October but it starts to frost here the 1st week or two of October a lot of the time and i usually try to wait until the hairs are at 70% red and shriveled but i have good cloudy trichomes and some are starting to turn amber i try to take them at that peak thc production

Damn bro... It's barely September and they are already getting thicc!!! It's your call. I got amber all over mine but I'm just like.. can't be ready yet. Now.. make sure you're only checking the calyxes and not the sugar leaves. It's really hard to tell sometimes and I'm constantly confused. The leaves will go amber a lot faster. I always step back a few days when Im ready. Because you may not be totally sure yet. But if you cut early, you'll know it almost immediately. This to me ... Is one of the most difficult parts of growing.

I hang at 60% i run a humidifier during the hang and I just bought them groove bags that everyone bragging about they are nice I think they have built in rh humidity pads I got big ones probably going to need it ! My buddy was over he hasn't been over since they started budding u should of saw the look on his face when he saw my garden lol he almost shit .cause this my best year yet
