female or male?

Might be too early to tell. Take a look at the nodes or “armpits” of the plants. Boys got lots of nuts, girls have big calyx’s.

I see pistols no male nodes that's a good sign

Shadow_Pegasus

I think so

jazzyEnglish

thank you I'm glad first ever plant fingers crossed a good summer

jazzyEnglish

thank you 🤞🌼

also any budget friendly advice wouldn't go a miss ' first timer wasn't sure on sex so willing to spend more on her now haha I brought some Miracle-Gro higher in (N) then ill switch to tomato feed in flowering phase high in p water every night aswell etc feed weekly or should I more in veg state thxs keep it simple for me guys 👱‍♀️

jazzyEnglish

also wanting to no when to repot her into a big bucket and what compost to use I can just buy a bag off

Shadow_Pegasus

As a first time grower, I also went with Miracle-Gro but I noticed the soil would always be warm and hot. I do not believe that their soil is best for any kind of plant you plan on consuming or in this case, smoking. If you are on a budget, I recommend making your own soil as Fox Farms and Sunshine arent too budget friendly. All youre gonna need is some medium, like coco coir or soil, and then add some inoculants, like biochar, myco, worm castings, and then pick out some fertilizer when the soil runs out of nutes for the plant. For fertilizer, i recommend something on the organic side (check out my grow) and there are many options to chose from though research may be needed. Cheers!

Shadow_Pegasus

I would actually repot ger immediately in her forever home. If you’re outside and doing pots, go for a minimum of 20 gallons fabric pots. Fabric pots help aerate the soil and are easy to use. Definitely invest in some myco inncoculents when repotting to ease the stress on the plant.

if still deleafing, (ive been doing this too and it seems to help especially with LST) snip some of the bigger fan leaves (not all tho) to allow better light penetration to slightly lower nodes. other than that looking good colowise. no discoloration in the leaves. natural sunlight?

jazzyEnglish

Green house yes mine gals also unknown strain hopefully a gooden I've took most off the lower bit and hard to know what to make on top don't wanna stress her

Ben_Z

yeah id look into LST (light stress training) on the next grow. that way your top kinda comes from the middle and you get alot more growth without SEVERELY stressing the plant. mine are mostly outside grows (putting a greenhouse in next weekend) but rn mine are also in more direct sunlight and i trimmed bigger fans about 3 days ago and they're LOVING it. Hence the bigger fan removal. But yeah bro looking nice and healthy 👌🏽

jazzyEnglish

I did some LST then when I brought the tarp was no point drawing her down when now I had to lift her up in the frame couldn't fit the trap over still a few weeks off 12 12 naturally pain then I topped her twice multiable heads she's got and big bud is amazing

Ben_Z

yeah that 12/12 fr is my nemesis rn cuz the way my small ass yards set up the trees above are dense so I gotta move em when the canopy grows in to make sure they get the right amount of sun that 12/12 is deff a pain

jazzyEnglish

I didn't even think about the light situation till I needed it right rain tarp has defo done it tho should naturally be there in 3 weeks thank God last stretch then drying and curing should be fun eh haha

Ben_Z

yeah man I'm excited for my girls too (3 confirmed 2 are late). Been storing up jars pretty hard lol

jazzyEnglish

something I havnt done yet il expect alot of jars 🤞

Ben_Z

same here bro!! I got 20+ i hope its enough keep updated and hope your yield is satisfactory 🙏

any ideas or tips

D
DitchWeed

do you rotate your plants? I turn my plants 45 degrees every day.

jazzyEnglish

I didn't even think of that I thought the sun would just get round to the back eventually I will Start haha

D
DitchWeed

the sun can reflect off of windows, and other objects, that can create hot spots.

nice job!!! looks like you may have some rot in some of the buds, on the next one see if you can increase ventilation

jazzyEnglish

I've hopefully cut most of it half hard to see till it's actually noticeable think the vents been the problem dripping water I'll hopefully get it all when I cut her down ill have a good look throw do you think smaller hanging stems be better then hanging her whole tree up cheers

Glitch

I would just so I could get a good look at all the buds to chop out any rot before I dried it

I dont wanna dry it out to fast nor do I want anymore rot I need a smal fan and heater needs to be 16c

Z
ZestyDabs3257

only way I could prevent bud rot is by shaking the plants off every morning because the morning dew usually causes it unless your indoors then the humidity is way to high if not the plant is most likely ready and not getting any bigger

jazzyEnglish

you think I should just cut her all now vs i was hoping to push another 2 weeks for the lower bud sites left on the half still in soil

Z
ZestyDabs3257

if frost has already hit yes but most the time you want to wait till a majority of the hairs on the bud are brown if you take those big sucker leaves off it’ll push more energy to the buds some times you’ll get nugs the size of your hand and on the same plant it’ll have immature buds the only way to really prevent that is training them like removing excess foliage or bending the branches so light reaches the bottoms colas better I wouldn’t harvest half the plant it would stress out the remaining plant and might not grow as much as it could and I’d let them go until the first or second frost they do have some time left in them
