Grow Timeline (26 updates)
Howdy all! Just downloaded this app and started my first ever grow on Saturday with germination of my first seed(pineapple og) on Saturday which popped sometime overnight last night! Started germination of my cherry pie seed last night and am excited for that. Im hopeful that I can learn enough(i have more of each seed) to try and cross the two. What's everyone's thoughts
Had my in line fan on to keep the humidity within appropriate range but fell below that for approximately 8 hours. Rewet media, sprayed down tent walls and ran up humidifier to fast track increase.
Another day gone by and pineapple og girl has spread her wings a tad. Gave the girls water but not as much as I have lately. They're not dead so somethings going right. They're starting to grow more leaves which im excited to see
Added a few ounces of water to them both and put a dash of earthworm castings on top to give a small boost...I know its not necessary but I figured like a teaspoon wouldn't hurt.
Anyone know if this ai analyzer will let me know when its time to harvest? Im a first timer so when it comes to that point I honestly have yet to learn that portion...along with the idea of trimming.
Nice and organized!!! Happy growing πͺ΄ππͺ΄ππͺ΄ππͺ΄ππͺ΄π
Thank you!
Donβt get too ahead of yourself. Get a good light before you worry about harvesting and trimming. Gotta get that purple thing out trust me brother. Your plants explode with growth then you can get them thru flower to harvest. Thatβs the easy part.
Check in, got me a fancy new smart humidifier and boy has it made the stress melt away! From vivosun as you can see it shows me temp, humidity(its is automatic and runs and stops as needed) and vpd on one screen. I love the fact it also sends me parameter and water level alerts as well!
How does everyone think they're looking? Remember, 1st timer lol so I might need to be explained something in dummy terms lmao.
Also ignore the age on the screen shot lol didnt have the time at the moment to make it accurate from app to app(I have so much going on im lucky I remember where to shitπ€£) the date on here is way more accurate than there. I'd say if im off on here its maybe by a day.
I set them in their fabric pots today. Used compostable cups to place them in the fabric with them to cause less root shock. Took a knife cut a slit in the bottom and sides to allow roots to pass easier and help decompose the cup quicker. Cup was still solid the way I cut it so I could set it in build around it and push town gently to set the top of the soil.
It was a rare day off for me so I took advantage of it.
Nightly check on the girls. So far they appear to have taken to the move to their final pots well!
See how ones beat up an other down in pot isn't. It maybe because of outside stress but seems like fan to close
I havent had the fan directly on them like ever lol maybe been knocked a time or two but short time type of thing
Couple pics back it looked like it was no worries
π
Watered each with 1/4 gallon of water and topped off the humidifier! Excited at the fact that I havent seemingly screwed this up yet!
Don't leave fan directly on plany brodi, idk if it still is but that's no good for seedlings or small plants causes wind burn
It's not π€
Officially excited. Hopefully my new light comes quick that I ordered yesterday from strong seeds online. Im hopeful it'll be a clearer light for pictures and whatnot. I have a flashlight...I just keep forgetting to grab oneπ€£
Today the plants gave taken a noticeable difference from yesterday and im getting more excited as I see more growth.
What light ya get? strong seeds sells lights?!?!! thats crazy
https://strngseeds.com/equipment/indoor-grow-light/ This one
I finally remembered to grab a flashlight to better show off the girls! Two of the photos are the same plant...just a closer shot.
Im trying now they're in their big girl pots to do a ring method with the watering. Today I got as close to the edge of the pots as possible as that was dry...dry dry. And closer to the plants was still damp. In hopes the roots will reach out to get it.
What's everyone think now that they're easier seen?
Got a new light in today! 415w output and from what I understand a fraction of that is feeding the light itself! Has both veg and bloom switch(on veg since its in veg state right now). They look good...one got a tad leggy with the old lights im hoping that the new light will straighten the girl out. But other than that they seem to look good! What's everyone think?
Im using miracle gro organic outdoor potting mix mixed with burpees organic seed starting mix. I mixed in some earthworm castings. Based on the coloration of the plants I think im ok with running just that right now...have fertilizer on standby(dry). What's everyone's take?
Looks great. Congrats on new light!!! Miracle grow isn't the best for cannabis. And it's a horrible company. It'll grow good while in veg but you might have an uphill battle come flower especially if it has time release nutes in it. You can grow in it, but next grow is switch over to something like fox farm or sunshine mix #4. In the mean time happy growing!! ππ
Yeah I knew going in with miracle grow. I found out of all of their stuff this was the best in this case. Im the kinda person to try the hard way first and if I can do it that way its worth the investment to use something else. Plus being in ny I couldn't get to my compost pile and dirt. So this was my best option in town for a hasty start....I got so excited I got anxiousπ€£ my first ever grow. Just couldn't wait for spring.
Thank you on the light. Got it on strngseeds.com 415w light dual switch for for like 70 after small sale and a promo stacked shipped to me...kinda lol instead of it coming to me I got it a day early from the post officeπ€£ got a smart plug coming saturdayπ€£
Just my opinion, don't expect a ton on your first grow. You're gonna mess it up. I mean this in a nothing but love way. Ive had countless grows over the years and I still mess up. Constantly. They're very resilient plants in veg. In flower they can get a little finicky. Don't get frustrated, take it slow, take it easy and less is more. You got this. There are a ton of good growers on here that'll help you through
I'd be interested in how much wattage your light actually draws. I only say this bc the website says they have a 2000w light. Most household plugs in the us are rated for under 1500w. As in if you plugged something in that continually drew 2000w, it would trip breakers or catch fire. If you can't trust their watt #, what can you trust? You'll be able to grow with it, but if you ever expand, and you will bc growing is addicting, let us know we can help point you in a good direction. Best of luck. Ever need any help feel free to dm ππ.
My two girls. They're starting to grow more leaves and its looking fuller but they're still on the short realm.
I know Rome wasnt built in a day. But im feeling like I should be doing something right now but I cant tell.
Did u fertilize them yet ? Get on these start budding fast 30 days it will automatically go in bud thatβs it
I have not. This is my first time ever growing weed. So im literally in the dark on it. I have dry fertilizer(cant remember the ratio off hand and im not home at the moment) I might need help deciphering the fertilizer ratio later.
I just found it. It's the dr earth organic 2-2-2 dry
Nail it with it read the directions. U going to need a bloom when it goes into flower ones with no nitrogen is what I like Crown Jewels imperial bloom is a good one . U should also get yourself some cal/mag I use gypsum and epsom salt unscented . I ussally give them 3/4 of what the directions say good luck . Down to earth good stuff . Good grab for a new guy ! I run organic too . There biolive is what i use in veg
Good to know, how's that tiger bloom stuff from fox farm? Do they sell it in a dry formula?
With the plants only being a few weeks old, should I top dress it or do the tea method. Im leaning towards top dressing instead of tea. Also should I do a full dose? Im concerned of nutrient burn so I was thinking half dose
My smart grow hub arrived today. Still gotta tinker with it to see if im using it correctly. That way I can keep my tent at consistent air parameters.
On the bright side of things! My brother hooked me up with a bunch of amnesia haze photo seeds from a feminized plant! Unsure of how many he gave me but golly I have enough seeds to last me a lifetime lol.
Today was just a check in. Things seem to be going well. Im unsure if im excited and anxious for the harvest or concerned about progress or both. My brother who's grown more than me says that im doing ok. Lol so I should keep that in my mind and go from there lol.
Yea they are the same lights I got off temu for 30 bucks a pop the BW2000 and look at all the ppfd maps they all say 1560 in the cent how dose a 415 watt light have the same as a 2000 watts light and the same footprint dont get me wrong t they are great lights only 100 watts and 1300 ppfd at 10 inxhs yes I said 10 inches
Did a measurement to see how they are doing. They've made some good strides in the last week or so. So the stress i felt is lifting some. At this point I just hope I harvest enough to justify the added cost of everything.
Your doing good. Keep it up and it will offset. Keep in mind auto flowers will yield less. So plant more to get a jump start. If you donβt start more until itβs time to harvest then youβll wind up behind
Thank you and that i knew about autos. This was mainly to scratch the itch. I plan on growing more outside once its warm enough.
Are these photos or auto
They are autos
What is your light on? It's almost too weak or too much
It got leggy from the prior lights that was unsure of wattage. At least now I know i have a proper light. I did some training to straighten her out a bit and its worked.
What kinda light ya have??
Indoor Grow Light - Premium Seed Bank | Best Feminized Seeds | Seed Bank USA - 100% Legal https://share.google/I1QkufPaNqfyfbwcs This light 415w its on veg now
Daily check in. Gave the girls half gallon each. They're really starting to reach upward. Measured in at 5.5 and 4.5 inch. They stayed pretty short for a good while. But now theyre starting to reach for the sky.
Are u watering daily ?
No based on finger test the soil is still wet. Sometimes its a half gallon every other day and a quart in between.
Good luck on first grow! Iβm currently on mine
Thank you and same to you!
Enjoy the ride brother. Words of advice from a newly mented fellow indoor garden enthusiast . Run a extension cord into your tent so it's easier to clean and work. Dont freak if your settings fall out of range for a bit, it's ok, Mother nature is forgiving. 12" from plants is a good distance, a light meter will set your mind at ease to know it's set up right. Coco needs buffered, make sure to look up how yo do it so you don't stunt plants. If you have questions, we are all here for ya, just ask away. Oh and btw, welcome to being a Gromie :-) this is the most fun gardening I've ever had.
Thank you and I hope to enjoy the ride. My original intention was to grow outdoor only...but I got too excited. So these two plants are a soft start and will grow like 4-6 more in the spring.
Good luck everyone. I recently finished my first grow and this app made a ton of difference. Great community
Good to know thank you!
Congrats! good luck! Welcome to the community π
Thank you
Good luck! This app is definitely a good place to go if you have any questions. I started last year and since I started have learned so so so much from here. Good luck!
Thank you!
