Grow Timeline (4 updates)
Been raining everyday nonstop.
While the ground is flat, it's far from level. I dug a test hole outside to see where the water table is and at a ft down on the low side, water pooled.
I believe this is why the plant on the low end is struggling to draw up nutrients.
But the next week seems to be rain free, so I'm expecting a bounce back from her.
The rest of the crop is doing fine.
MAC is by far the smallest of the bunch, but I'm not complaining. Way it's shaping up, I'll have a bountiful harvest.
Each framed in section is 4'x4', to give an idea on scale.
Thanks... Yeah overall they look great, I haven't had to water but once the last 3 weeks. My Plinko #1 is starting to show stress, but I'm confident she'll bounce back.
I'm actually water logged atm one the far end. It'll pan out, not my first rodeo. The rain has been hammering for about 2 wks. Plenty of nutrients, just need the break that's coming to give oxygen to the roots. it's starting to dry back finally.
Oh yea I read that, 2 weeks of rain is rough for them! But when that sun pops and feeds them it's on like donkey Kong! Lol
π― just glad I rigged it up to withstand them 70mph winds. Some of them days were absolutely brutal.
Everything in its place and a place for everything π. Your next run will be in 1x1 squares πͺπ»π€π»
I would love a setup like this one day ππ€
It's really not that expensive, I got less in it than I do my 3x3.
Haha.... Following. Want to see how this turns out.
You and me both. Last time I planted in the native soil it didn't take long for them to take off. But... That was in direct sunlight. Time tells all and the soil is rich and is crawling with πͺ±.
You only need a few hours of direct sunlight. It can be brutal. I bet they'll do well!
Was going to say o havnt seen u here for a bit great u back
Been crazy these last few months... But nonetheless I'll try to get current.
Yep u good !! I made some improvements to my grow ! I grew 3 ft plants in 1 mth thatβs best Iβve ever done . Then again ocean forest makes it easy a water only soil is what o needed . Spring summer run real important to me . Especially in the north we gotta take advantage of tne good weather . I have a few outside 3 in pots outside and 2 in ground mine all doing good . I have some stray orange cat protecting my plants lol . Every time I go outside heβs by my plants one day he was rubbing up against the pot lol
Always good to see improvements in your game. Yeah, I don't understand those who hate on FF products. I don't use them exclusively, but for $20/1.5cuft... it's a bargain and does a great job. I'm getting my shit together and updating to my current status, then I'll check out what you got goin on π
Definitely makes newer grower get there confident up ! Yea I started buying things in winter for spring run now I have 2 shzlux lights learned that from six they like 200$ for a 4x4 500 watt led and I got yinmik ph pen works in soil or water paid like 30$ itβs durable ph pen got my in-line fan and humidifier. I just slowly bought stuff . I bought like one bag a soil a week and slowly got there next run Iβm trying Mother Earth groundswell heard excellent airation in soil
Yeah, I think a lot of us aquire "upgrades" over time. I still got a knee-deep wishlist goin. Having that said, no equipment can replace the skills of a seasoned grower. So learning will always reign supreme. I was just thinking the other day... Back in the 90s, when there wasn't really a dedicated market, we used our carpentry skills, industrial supply stores and HIDs/HPS to get our indoor gardens thriving. Kinda the reason I wanted to do this grow. Get back to simplistic roots. I bought 3 bags of OF to amend the native soil so theyhave a buffer to prevent transplant shock. No nutes, just compost, and nature's nurture
Love your setup! I did a greenhouse early start this year. Pulled the cover off due to the heat inside. Do you keep the tent on always or remove during the day and back on at night?
Heat hasn't been an issue with windows rolled up. It's all flat farmland around me so it gets a constant breeze I notice it's cooler on some days warmer than others than outside. Just depends on which way the wind blows π. I got 24" fans I can deploy if I feel like things are getting too hot. But the point is to avoid utilities. I got my indoor grows going on so we'll see how things turn out.
Nice, well it was hot as hell in the greenhous even with the fans going. 115 deg. On some days, I was freaking out!
Damn that's π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅... It hasn't gotten hot enough where heat has made me worry. I think orientation and local landscaping definitely make a huge difference. I got mine on at a slight angle that I marked last autumn to follow the path of the sun. It allows the breeze to penetrate the windscreens better than a direct east/west orientation. I also buried the sideflaps, so I'm not sure if the ground helps offset the temps by somewhat acting as a thermal regulator but it's possible I guess. I just dug a trench, anchored the flaps with some ground nails and backfilled it in, this was in efforts to give it a bit more structural value than just anchoring the flaps at ground level with weighted objects. Because it's a budget tunnel greenhouse my biggest worry is the winds. It's frame is cheap Chinese aluminum. But, I would think the most effective way of cooling it down would be running an oscillating sprinkler on the outside to cool the cover.
Well you did it right thats for sure! And yes I was spraying mine down with the water hose and had a 40% shade cloth on it for a while
